Jua Mandala Another cold one in december. Kid was...enchanted to say the least. Sure in the various scummie areas of New York City you still got your scam artists and all that...but it was his first time seeing the city glow with christmas cheer in some neighborhoods. Lights string across trees and doorways, porches glowing with cheer. Christmas, Kranza, Hallancua and so forth. It was different.

And so walking through one of the quiet neighborhoods...Kid seems contemplative, leaving tracks of gorilla prints behind him. he only wore shorts and a sweater, a backpack on his back. Only ever stopping to watch folks from afar. He frowns lightly and sighs finally stopping just outside a coffee shop.
Carol Danvers It just so happens that Carol was sitting at the cafe, all by herself, a cup of espresso infront of her, but nothing else. She seems deeply in thought, but when the door open and a gorilla walks inside, Carol's attention is drawn, "Kid?" She tries, hoping she got the name right and it wasn't a different gorilla.
Jua Mandala Kid looks around, as usual...he had just a certain amount of aggression in the way he stood, not that being a massive gorilla wasn't already intimidating. He shakes himself off to be rid of some snow before he hears his name and turns his head to see Carol. His head bobs up his shoulder rising before they settle back into place. He let out a grunt and signs "Hello....Marvel was it?" his bracer speaking in his place as usual.
Carol Danvers "You can call me Carol," Marvel offers with a grin, "particularly when I'm out of the uniform. How have you been?" She asks with genuine concern, "got a chance to work out those anger issues?"
Jua Mandala     The gorilla snorts and signs "Don't got anger issues" even as he growls at a person who get just a bit TOO close for his liking...that person quickly leaves the shop. Some folks were stareing, others just...move away. He takes a seat infront of Carol at least and signs "Why the two names if yea ain't hiding?" he wonders. "Anyways, been...alright. Just thinking is all. Yourself?" his figits uncomfortably.
Carol Danvers "Riiight," Carol remarks very dryly as she looks at Kid growling someone out of the cafe. "Well...one is for me, my life, dealing with normal things. Or well, as normal as things get for me...Captain Marvel, well, it's a codename, but it's also a role. You'd be surprised, but it's actually holds some weight up there in space opera politics. It's useful sometimes to just invoke it, can end fights before they start, at least with the smart ones."

Taking a sip of her espresso, Carol sighs, "I've been thinking myself...of what could possibly help people falling into the Black Sleep. I hate having someone like JJ suggest that the Avengers are useless. But truthfully? What can we do? What can anyone do with this thing? It feels like magic, and Doctor Strange isn't available...has to be more than a coincidence, no?"
Jua Mandala     Kid notes the dryness...but signs nothing of it. He seems content to listen and even raises his brows as he signs "...weight in space? What you some alien or something?" he seemed legitimately curiouse more than anything. "But guess I can see how that works"

He looks out to the falling snow for a long moment. "....Correlation does not eqauate to causation...but it is possible. But your asking the wrong question. You do not want anyone, but someone. If it feels like magic than seek someone with magic, Strange can't be the only wizard lizard. And if they go to the land of sleep, maybe someone of the mind can help find what you seek" he signs for a moment lacking his typical aggression.
Carol Danvers "You could say that," Carol offers a non commmitted reply, not caring to go into deep explanations and certainties in this setting. She holds up a finger, "you don't understand, he is the Sorcerer Supreme, if something knocked him out of the playing field, that's no accident...especially when it follows by this Black Sleep. Do you know any magic users?"
Jua Mandala     "Oh I understand. And believe me...I want him found safe and sound" he signs. Kid ears twitch and he let out a rumble seeming in thought. He signs "Yes and no. Met some, but never really knew them. It was dubiouse when we met at best." he admits "Though you think for magic users, they wouldn't be so easy to surprise" he curls his lips showing his canines and let out a rough...was it supposed to be a laugh?
Carol Danvers Carol nods, "so you do." She finishes her espresso and puts down the empty cup on the table, angling it as she studies the stains held within, "not so easily, and it's very rarely that anyone can, at such a level as Strange's...this has to be a large magical threat of somesort..."
