Owner Pose
Tyran'tar     The Guardians had summoned Tyran'tar to discuss his part in an illegal arena fight on Omega, one of the more seedier outlaw planets. Upon hearing his reasoning he was told to not misuse the ring for personal gain. He walks out of the chamber, sighing as he looks to the courtyard where the other lanterns were at.
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz came back for a bit of remedial training - she has had some issues with nightmares lately. She sighs as she just arrives on Oa, promised it's just a day class with the infamous Kilowogg. But then she sees orange skin and bright red hair. Tamaranean? Curious, she floats over. "Hello there!" she chrips, waving as she lands by the tall orange man.
Tyran'tar     Tyran'tar turns when he hears someone call for him and he smiles. "You are one of the earth lanterns. I met a human Star Sapphire, and she seemed friendly enough." He says as he watches her and offers a hand. "I am Tyran'tar. The newest lantern for sector 2828."
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz blinks. "Oh yes, I know who you mean. She goes by Star Shimmer. I'm Jessica," she states, extending her hand. "There does seem to be a lot of Lanterns on Earth - three different Corps are represented by us - and maybe a 4th but that's just rumors."
Tyran'tar     "It is interesting how so many lanterns come from earth, when earth isnt a part of the galactic community." He says calmly as he nods. "I am from Tamaran, and a military officer for New Tamaran. Tamaran got bombed by the citedal. It is difficult to rid myself of the anger for what they done to my world."
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz hmmmmms softly. "Yeah - I've heard of your world. It's in the database. It's... rather sad what happened there. I think I"ve even seen one of your kind before." She smiles faintly. "So... I was just here for a day training course with Kilowogg. Still... not the best of the best."
Tyran'tar     "My people are wide spread throughout the galactic community. PArt of our treaty for peace against the citadel was to abandon our warrior culture. Ouyr warriors have left home to be mercenaries. I was one of them, until fate intervened." He says as he holds his ring hand up. "I got out of training about a year or so ago." He says calmly. "What were you before you became a lantern?"
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz blinks. "I was an author and recreational hunter... then a hermit after I witnessed something that some bad people wanted to ensure never got out... then..." She sighs soflty, head lowered. "The unwilling bearer of the Ring of Volthoom."
Tyran'tar     "Volthoom." Tyran'tar says as he nods. "I have heard stories. The fact you are alive and sane is a remarkable feat." He says as he nods. "I am still learning the ins and outs of lantern society. I am also keeping my lantern activities a secret from my homeworld's ruler. If she could she would probably use me to conquer more worlds."
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz nods. "The ring scarred me physically and mentally," she states, her right sleeve fading partially so the vein-like scars all over it are visible then reforming. "But... apparently the willpower to stalemate it so it got bored... was what was needed to be a Lantern. But I still feel unworthy."
Tyran'tar     "If you want my opinion, I also feel unworthy." Tyran'tar says with a smile. "It is difficult to accept power. To be a lantern however means you are the defender of your sector and one of the many chosen to protect the universe." He says as he watches her. "Do you defend earth by yourself? I know there are other lanterns on earth, I would figure that you work together."
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz sighs softly. "No - I don't - not alone. But it took me months to even get the hang of constructs. I even hate coming HERE - there's just so many people in such a small area. I half-expect at any time that my ring will abandon me." "Of course I won't abandon you, J-Bird. Though you aren't the most heroic, you do have the willpower to FACE your anxieties - and of course Volthoom," chirps her ring in a voice suspiciously similar to Patrick Stewart. "Thanks, Anillo," she muses softly. "Aparently my ring is a bit of a smartass and is very talkative." It just giggles in response.
Tyran'tar     Tyran'tar nods as he smiles at her. "I often feel the same, so I try my best to do things to make my ring not abandon me." He says calmly. He then looks around. "It is much more different then my world. It takes some getting used to." He says calmly as he watches her. "So whats your plan, go get some training under Kilowog?"
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz nods. "Yeah - I came early in case something was up - I have an hour before the class. I was asked to come here weekly for them. And also to see if I can find a good role model." She shrugs softly. "Part of me wonders if I could find a boyfriend here... but not sure how well that'd work."
Tyran'tar     "Hey if you dont mind the intergalactic relationship, then sure. Though with you both in dangerous jobs, never know when you may have your last moments." Tyran'tar says as he smiles. "So how about we get a drink? We can talk about how our dating lives are not the best in the galaxy." He says with a grin.
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz nods. "Yeah - I heard Guy Gardner opened a bar here. The only one on Oa," she muses, grinning widely. "I punched that smug bastard in the face during training. The look on his face... was unforgettable." She creates a contruct showing Guy just after punching. "I do hope he doesn't hold a grudge." She smiles as she flies over that way. "I hope it's slow right now."
Tyran'tar     "It probably is. Though I am curious if Gardner has any booze from my homeworld." He says as he offers to escort her there. "So tell me about earth. You dont work alone, so you have friends who help you tend to earth's problems?"
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz nods. "There's four Green Lanterns from Sector 2814. But we all seem to stay on Earth. I'm still not sure of my place. Hal handles all the big stuff." She sighs. "I feel like the spare tire on the back of a Jeep."
Tyran'tar     "Four green lanterns from earth? And atleast a star sapphire? I think it tells alot about the human race." Tyran'tar says as he smiles at jessica. "Better to have that spare tire and not need it, then need it and not have it. Being the auxilary isnt so bad." He says softly as he watches her. "As I understand it, the ring chooses its successors based on overcoming great fear. You managed to force volthoom into a stalemate...Volthoom is one of the most powerful beings for his time, so the fact you survived and overpowered it, even slightly tells me you are a strong person, willfully."
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz shivers. "But the fact that the Ring of Volthoom chose me ALSO means I'm one of the most COWARDLY beings - that's what that evil ring does. It chooses the most frigthened person in range... that was me. I don't know if I've changed enough to be free of that taint."
Tyran'tar     "Do you know what true bravery is? Someone willing to do what they can regardless of the odds. I never left a single man behind during the war with the Citadel. I always lead from the front line because if I am too cowardly to fight with my men, then why should my men fight?" He asks as he shrugs at Jessica. "You were afraid of being killed. A common fear, one which affects every lantern. But you proved your will surpassed that fear."
