Kara Danvers Late evening and Supergirl has come to the Fortress of Solitude. Not for solitude. She can get that in her room back home if she wants it. This was for a bit of research. She had done some back home and she intended to continue it on the Justice League computers next time she was at the Watchtower. However, Kryptonian knowledge could come in handy as well and that was what she hoped.

She was standing with a crystal already inserted, reading some of the information that was hanging in the air in front of her face. It seemed to center on telepathic beings.
Karen Starr     With Kara looking up information, Power Girl floats her way into the fortress herself and....finds Kara looking things up in the crystals. Karen didn't want to try it, for fear that the crystals might do something to her...since she's a clone. But she does remain relatively quiet until it looks like Kara's coming out of the data stream. "Something on your mind, Kara?" Power Girl says to SuperGirl. Not wanting to startle her.
Kara Danvers Despite the fact she should've heared Karen's arrival, Supergirl does jump slightly when she hears the voice. She was that into the research. She turns around to look at her 'sister', giving a bright smile. "Oh, just trying to help out a friend. We think his mind may have been messed with but I'm trying to figure out what beings could be behind it and how to counteract them before we go walking into something totally unprepared. I didn't realize how many telepathic beings there are!" She touches a crystal and the display changes to a list of many types of beings that have that power set. "I was going to ask J'onn but I haven't seen him lately. Figured he could peek into my friend's head and see if he can tell about tampering."
Karen Starr     "There are quite a few telepathic beings about." Karen says softly. "If you're truly desparate for help, Kara....rumors are about about Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters." Karen then tilts her head. "I don't know if the Professor would help out, depending upon what happened to your friend, Kara. Who's your friend?"
Kara Danvers "Mon-El," Supergirl answers as she turns around fully, leaving the display behind her but not looking for now as she focuses fully on Karen. "He's a Daxamite. We kind of dated briefly but I thought we were better as friends and I had someone else I had sort kinda dumped and didn't feel right about that so it's complicated but we're still friends." Not a single breath taken during that run on sentence. "He met some woman and now he finds himself thinking about her all the time. But not in a good way. In a weird maybe he is being influenced. And he has a hole in his memory around the same time."
Karen Starr     "Strange." Karen says softly. "So you're looking up possible alpha wave that could've affected his memory. If I remember Batman's files, Poison Ivy had a way to influence someone, but it was through pheromones." She sighs a bit. "Don't know. Xavier's might be the best place....if J'onn isn't around."
Kara Danvers "I keep hoping to see J'onn. Just haven't. Left messages for him at the Watchtower." Supergirl glances to the list and nibbles her bottom lip a moment. "This school has telepaths. How do we keep them from learning my secret though? I don't want to ruin my secret identity with an unknown. Can they be trusted?" She looks at Karen. "Have you dealt with them personally? I mean, Mon-El doesn't have a secret identity so maybe I could send him there by himself..."
Karen Starr     "Karen Starr could. Scientist in star labs could ask for a bit of help, and.....make sure the telepaths stay secret. Or we could go in as Supergirl and Power Girl and ask directly. However, I know the Institute has their own secrets....and we'd honor them, of course.
Kara Danvers "Hm. I'll think about it. It's a possibility at least. I just want someone to peek into his head and see what's in there. Though they might regret that," Supergirl adds with a smirk. "Anyway! How have you been? Have you heard if Kal survived his return trip to Lois and Ma?"
Karen Starr     "Don't know about Kal heading back to Lois and his mom, but I've been good. No explosion in Star Labs, thankfully. I don't think I could handle another stink bomb like before." Karen then chuckles. "I did notice something strange though. The Green Latern took a leave of absence, and is gone."
Kara Danvers That makes the smile fade a little as Supergirl nods. "He was going to deal with something in space. I wish he would've asked us but maybe it's a Lantern thing? I admit I don't understand a lot about them. He's the one that recruited me for the League so I kinda feel bad that he won't be around."
Karen Starr     "I do too, but not knowing where he's going? We can't exactly help him unless he guided us." Karen then sighs. "We're just gonna have to hold down the fort until he comes back, hm? How're things going in Riverdale?"
Kara Danvers Supergirl shrugs slightly. "About the same. Can't believe how fast this year is flying. I mean, we'll be graduating in a few months!" She shakes her head. "It's mainly trying to get all the homework done then be able to do my cheering on top of trying to keep up with the League duty hours. I didn't know it would be so hard to juggle it all."
Karen Starr     "Just make sure, when you graduate, you don't jump so high that you give yourself away." Karen then chuckles a bit. "Want me to be there? I would love to be there for my 'sister' when she graduated." She then winks.
Kara Danvers "Yes! I would love that," Kara gushes. "I mean my parents, the Danvers, will be there. I hope Kal too. Not sure if my Earth sister, Alex, will be able to get away from her own university though." She shrugs again. "I should be able to get all the invitations I need though. You sure you wouldn't be bored?"
Karen Starr     Karen makes a rather wry face. "You're talking to someone who stares at technology all day, molecules working to bond, and simply waiting for explosion to happen...then looking at the reaction to see where it went wrong." She then chuckles. "Mythbusters...it ain't."
Kara Danvers "Now that would be a fun job," Supergirl says with a faint giggle. "We could take the place of their test dummies or something. I mean, unlike them, we would probably survive. Meaning the dummy. Not the testers."
Karen Starr Karen Starr says, "Well...that's the difference between Star Labs and Mythbusters. If the experiment ends in a dud, the Mythbusters make it explode. Or if it does explode...they make it explode spectacularly. or implode...in the case of one tanker car. Star labs just take the data, throw out the subject...and start anew."
Kara Danvers "Wait, they made one implode? I never saw that episode." Supergirl turns, looking like she's about to grab a remote control when she realizes the crystals nearby aren't likely to help in this particular situation. "Well shoot. I'll have to stream it when I get back to Starling."
Karen Starr     "It's rather neat, but.....it's likely one of the most boring episodes they have. Right until the very end. And then....CHUNK....in the walls go. But they had to make a lot of modifications to do it. The funny ones are the rocket cars." And karen makes funny noises and twirls her fingers in the air....like something's tumbling through the air. "So don't try to strap rockets on a car. The car will not fly.
Kara Danvers "Well of course it won't. They aren't designed for that sort of aerodynamics," Supergirl murmurs. "Nor do they have the structural integrity to do so. They just turn into Hot Wheels tossed by an angry two year old having a tantrum."
Karen Starr     Karen chuckles. "I know...they knew too. But they had to prove it. And....they did. Most of the cars they used? Fell apart before they hit the ramp."
Kara Danvers "So did you decide to become a scientist to try and be a real Mythbuster? Or was there some other draw on for you that appealed? Was it just that you were going to hopefully fix things?" Supergirl asks curiously.
Karen Starr     "It actually started in Cadmus." Karen says softly. "The doctor...you know which one....started showing ONLY pictures of how horrible Superman was. So then I started going over recorded files....and his change in attitude came from Superman......worrying about you being sick." Karen raised her eyebrow. "He was worried about a family member....and the good doctor decided to turn on Clark for behaving....in a very human way. So....he tried to get Cadmus to protect the world from a person....who cared. Sounds rather stupid, doesn't it? But that's what happened. So I decided to do a lot more investigating, and....Waller didn't realize that I easily figured out her stupid passwords. The doctor too. So I started hacking into their files. It was there I found out that Superman wasn't really that bad of a guy, and gave him a fair shot. That and Mythbusters was funny as hell."

Karen then chuckles. "Got a little long winded. I do like to learn, but I also like finding the truth, as well as answers. if it advances things, even better."
Kara Danvers As Karen speaks, Supergirl listens, nodding here and there to reinforce that she's paying close attention if it wasn't already apparent. "There seems to be a lot of people trying to make out that Kal is bad. When he's really one of the nicest people I know. He's more human than a lot of humans. I wish others could see that as readily as we do."
Karen Starr     "That's the problem with most people. it becomes 'you think you're better than me?'.....and when they can prove it....they try to drag the person's name through the mud. Show a moment of weakness, and some like to twist the knife. The doctor thought Superman was an angel....until he showed that he had family, and behaved like a human would. His entire world shattered and he had to bring down his new....god." Karen then rolls her eyes. "And that's when he created a weapon to do it. It backfired....and I know his face. he also knows that I won't hesitate to cave his face in if I see him."
Kara Danvers "Huh." Supergirl does that nibble of her bottom lip, looking away and at the Fortress itself. All pristine white and crystal, so far away from the real world they all live in. "I'm not sure I'd be as strong as you. I'd probably go find him." She looks back at Karen, looking a little ashamed at the admission. "I don't think I could let it go."
Karen Starr     "Likely...but you also have family. So you're just as strong as me. Your family is your strength." Karen then chuckles. "Speaking of which....Who is the older sister among us? You have more 'years', but I look older..." She then turns her eyes to the side and gets a thoughtful look on her face. "That didn't come out right."
Kara Danvers "Well, that's a good question. You were matured faster with the whole lab thing so you are probably physically older than me, despite it only being a few years ago that they created you." Supergirl finds it so weird to be talking about it that way. "I can't think of you as a creation though. You're a person just like the rest of us so it's just odd to think about too much. Probably we should call you the older sister, due to that and the fact you appear to be older than me."
Karen Starr     Karen nods. "all right. I'll be the 'older sister' though it's not actually true." She then chuckles. "In costume or out of costume? Though out of costume, it might get a little awkward cuz of the Danvers."
Kara Danvers "Yeah, out of costume, we can just be friends. Or maybe cousins? Would that be too far fetched? Should probably ask Kal," Supergirl decides. "He has a lot more practice at this than we do. But that would be nice. I mean they fit me in, they probably wouldn't mind a cousin added to the mix."
Karen Starr     "Cousins work best. I mean....Kal and you have it. Why not?" Karen then ponders. "Speaking of which, the next time you head to Riverdale, I want to go with you. I mean....you talk a lot of Pop's....so I wanna see it."
Kara Danvers "They have the best shakes on the planet." Coming from Supergirl, who is driven by her stomach and has access to the entire world, that's saying something. "Speaking of, I do need to head to the house for now. My parents will be wondering if I show up too late." She rolls her eyes at that inconvenience. "We can try for this week sometime after school maybe if you are able to get away from work?"
Karen Starr     "it won't be hard to do. Research has been slow lately, especially after the reek-bomb." Karen smiles. "Let me know when, Kara. Okie?"
Kara Danvers "Will do!" Supergirl starts to head for the exit, walking the first few steps then floating into the air. She gives a wave in parting. "I'll see you soon!" And with that, she streaks out the doorway and is gone into the night. Hopefully she'll make it home before curfew! After all, it's a school night.
