Owner Pose
Jason Todd Morning comes to the small Brownstone in the Chelsea section of Gotham. It's one of the many safehomes that Bruce has bought over the years to use as safehavens, and in this case, he's letting Jason use it as long as he plays by the Bat's rules of no killing.

With light starting to spill in, he was the first one up, untangling and moving out of the bed to clean up and head downstairs. Making his way to where the coffee pot is, something feels a little off. Even in his pajama pants and fuzzy slippers, the man is always prepared as he heads straight to the utility drawer where he usually keeps..

Shit. Where's my gun?

His attention snaps to the darker corner. "Don't you /knock/?" he asks in mild agitation of the shadows. He has a pretty good idea who is there. Bruce would have knocked. Because he would have known he had company. Dick would have too. Because he's polite. Tim has no reason to visit. "What do you want, squirt?"
Kitty Pryde The sound of water moving through the pipes of the old brownstone signifies that someone else is up and about in the house, while Jason is working on breakfast. After awhile the sound stops, giving way to the gentle pops of the hot water heater in the attic. Time to drain the noisy thing again. Always something to do with an older home. No sign yet of whomever it is upstairs.
Damian Wayne      Damian clicks his tongue, throwing his voice around the living room. "You talk in your sleep." He states from one corner, then from the opposite. "I wanted time away from the Tower, and the manor. Your domicile simply happened to be one where I could find and not be noticed." The sound of a slide pulling back and spitting out its chambered round rings out. "You shouldn't keep your firearms around children, Todd." He then removes the slide from the receiver. "And you should clean them once in a while."
Jason Todd "I clean them more than you shower." Jason responds, before he rolls his eyes. "Next time, call first. Never know when I might have company." he gives a glance upstairs where he hears the water running, rattling through the old pipes. "Bruce has ten more of these around the city. Which means you aren't just visiting to get out." he says simply. "We can discuss whatever it is later - you hungry?"

And while Damian may be able to throw his voice with the best of him, there's a focused glare to where he heard the slide of the gun and the chambering. "And don't waste my ammo." There's a small sigh of frustration, before he turns to head to the coffee maker and get it going. "Still eat your steak rare?"
Damian Wayne      "I shower every day thank you." He quips back at the Red Hood. "Oh you mean like right now, goddammit?" Damian says in response to the water running upstairs. "Wasting it would be using it. I am simply cycling it. You should try an Israeli setup, less bore height."

Damian raises his hoodie, the best he can do to distract from his face. He was after all the one who was in the tabloids recently. "Rare, yes."

Damian slips the gun to its completed stare again, placing it in his hoodie pouch.
Jason Todd "I have my gun setup just the way I like my gun setup. When I want your advice, I'll shake it out of you." Jason responds with a grunt. "And if you wanted a gun, you should have asked. Not that I'd given it to you."

Fishing the steaks out of the fridge, he moves over to the oven to turn on the gas and start up the steaks on the cast iron griddle plate. As the first ones start to fry, the smell of the cooking meat starts to waif upstairs, along with the tantalizing smell of coffee. "Alfred making waffles again?" he asks. That's always a good reason to find someplace else for breakfast. Heading over to the cabinets, he takes out three plates and mugs to set on the counter. "Set the table at least."

"Her name's Katherine." Not Kitty - if he says Kitty in front of Damian, he'll /never/ hear the end of it. "She's a guidance counselor at a school in Westchester. And I actually want this one to stay around. Get it?"
Kitty Pryde Bare feet come down the stairs, followed by the rest of Kitty Pryde. She's wearing a man's blue dress shirt, legs bare beneath it, a few buttons done up in front to hold it closed. Her hair is still damp, hanging about her shoulders in falls of dark brown. She glances about, having heard voices, if not exactly what was being said. "Jason?" she says as she descends the stairs, not sure if he's on the phone, talking to himself or... oh. Talking to someone else. She hesitates there near the bottom of the stairs. "Want me to..." she says to Jason, indicating back up towards the top of the stairs to see if he wants some privacy.
Damian Wayne      "I am a weapon. I was going to put it back. I'm sure you did not want your 'booty call' to know you kept a firearm in your kitchen." Then the bit about keeping her pops up. "Fine. Does she know who your adopted by?" Damian says quickly before he throws the gun at Jason, a little harder than what was needed to get it to travel.

By the time Kitty starts descending the stairs, Damian is already setting the table, and changing his demeanor to the one he uses in public, shy and reserved. "Oh, hi. Let me get another place setting." He says in a quieted tone, head still mostly covered with hoodie.
Jason Todd "Weapon. I'm well-aware of your status. You forget we share more than just who we call father." All the All-Caste and League of Assasins training he has had as well. For the next question, he responds, "She knows." Jason responds, "We haven't had the /other/ discussion yet, but yes." Snagging the gun from mid-air, he shoves it back in the drawer just as Kitty comes down to join them.

"No need for all that, Katherine." he offers with a warm smile shot towards the young woman as he arrives. "I'd like you to meet someone..."

And Then just like that, Damian changes everything up. He forgot how good of a chameleon that his little pain in the ass can be at times.

Damn. Remind me to thank him later.

"Damian, this is my girlfriend, Katherine Pryde. Katherine, this is Damian Wayne, my little brother." he offers in way of introduction. "Thanks for the assist, Damian." His attention shifts to Kitty to greet her with a brief kiss. "How do you like your steak?"
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde gives Jason a bright smile as she moves over to join him, turning her attention to Damian as the introduction is made. "Damian. Jason was tell me about you. It's really nice to get to meet you," she says to him. Kitty - Katherine - has a generally warm way about her, brushing back her hair as she reaches over to offer him her hand.

"Oh, rare or medium or whatever you're making yours is fine," Kitty assures Jason on the steak. "I could go up and throw on something else," Kitty says, looking to Jason as she's just wearing the shirt she found laid out on the bed before she came down, though it hangs down to mid-thigh, keeping her more than modest.
Damian Wayne      Damian lowers his hood, no sense in covering his face anymore. His pale green eyes seem to pierce whatever they look at. "Hi, I'm, well. Damian, but you knew that." He gives a nervous chuckle before he shakes her hand, it's not nearly as strong as it should be. Somewhere closer to dead fish than New York power broker. "Nice to meet you, Katherine." He comments, moving his gaze soon after to gather a third place setting.

He continues to set the table, quietly. Chameleon indeed, Damian seems more akin to a kid of his own age rather than the annoying little shit he actually was.
Jason Todd Someday she's going to meet the real Damian and wonder what the hell was here this morning.

Putting on the last of the steaks, Jason starts to work on the eggs to get them ready. "You look fine to me, Katherine. I was hoping maybe you could stay around a little while?" he asks her, "Or do you need to get back to work?"

His attention turns to the food as he continues to prepare the meal. "I was just telling Damian that you were a guidance counselor. You work with children his age, right?"
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde gives Damian a friendly smile before turning back to Jason to say, "I can stick around. Jubilation... that's the other counselor, can handle today without me. She was before I started helping her out, anyway," Kitty says. She motions to the food and asks, "What can I do to help?"

Kitty turns back to Damian and says, "Kids your age, yes. At a school over in northern New York. Though it's not my normal job. I'm going to college. Taking a semester off to come back home for awhile," she tells Damian. "What about you, what grade are you in?" she asks, assuming he's a high school student apparently.
Damian Wayne      "Oh, I'm homeschooled. I guess I'm kinda a freshman." Fifteen right? Is that the right grade?

He makes his best to change the subject from himself. "So, you like, tell kids what to do?" Making the subject to Kitty rather than him. "Oh, what's your major? I heard that on the TV that's what college kids do." Internally, Damian was kicking himself from seeming this...inept.
Jason Todd "It'll be just a few minutes on the steaks. How do you like your coffee?" Jason asks, as he keeps his attention on the meal for the moment. "And your eggs. I take mine over easy."
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde tells Jason, "Over medium is my favorite. Easy is fine too if you want to pull them at the same time. And... maybe a little cream and sugar today if you have it? Though I drink it black sometimes too," Katherine says. She moves over to join Damian then, saying, "Well, not really tell them what to do. Give them someone to talk to when they need it. Maybe help suggest options. I used to go to the same school, so some of them remember me as a student there. More like being a big sister to them," Kitty says with a soft smile and shrug. "I'm working on a Ph.D in astrophysics," she tells Damian. Kitty only looks about 20, more like the age to be only partway into a bachelor's degree.
Damian Wayne      "Oh, schway! A PhD! I...don't really know what I want to do yet. I like animals, but I also like engineering." It was true at least, Damian had an affinity for both, but was much more advanced than he let on.

The youngest Wayne took a glass from the counter and fills it with orange juice.
Jason Todd "No cream. Will milk do?" Jason asks from the kitchen as he starts to plate the meals. Getting everything set up as best as he can, he brings out Kitty and Damian's meals first, setting them down before them before he retreats to get his own meal.

When he returns, he's carrying the coffee pot as well as a half-gallon of milk and the sugar bowl that he sets down on the table before he moves to sit down between Kitty and Damian at the table. "I'm more of a grease monkey myself." he offers with a shrug.
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde tells Jason, "Milk is perfect." Kitty goes over to take a seat and gives a soft, warm chuckle at Damian's reaction to her degree. "Both of those seem like great career options," Kitty says of Damian's interests.

Kitty draws in a deep breath as the food is brought over. "Wow. He can cook too," Kitty says with an impressed look as she slowly nods her head. She looks up to Jason, her eyes shining with a bit of warmth. Though she keeps it restrained with Jason's kid brother being there.

Kitty picks up the coffee cup, holding it with both hands. "So doing home schooling, do you get a chance to do any sports? Traveling teams or anything like that?" Kitty asks Damian. "You look like you're pretty fit," she says. A slouch can only do so much, but it could also be that Kitty might sense from his fake demeanor that he could use a boost of confidence.
Damian Wayne "I compete in martial arts. That's really it. I'm too short for basketball or football." A massive understatement, but he still did like to compete, just in higher stakes tournaments.

"Thanks, by the way." He comments before he starts digging into the steak and eggs.
Jason Todd "Here's to hoping you learn a lot more about me." Jason says with a wink to Kitty as he starts in on his own meal. "Yeah, Damian's really great are martial arts. You should see all the trophies he has at the manor. We're real proud of him." the older brother offers as he tucks into the steak, before taking a sip of his coffee, keeping it plain black.

"I heard that the Russians have sent one of their powered suits on a goodwill tour of the city." he comments thoughtfully. "It's pretty amazing stuff, all of that. But I'm just a guy."
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde tries her food, giving an, "Mmmmmm," at it and looking like she's just short of stamping her feet in happiness. Which might remind Jason she didn't really have dinner last night, other than a few handfuls of cheetos popcorn. Mmm. Cheetos popcorn. </Homer>

The brunette's gaze is on Damian as he talks about his martial arts competitions, and Jason adds to the tail. "Really? That's great. Seems like a great thing to get into. Not just the physical exercise, and knowing to defend yourself. But I've known a few people who seemed to really be helped by the focus and concentration and... centering that it gave them," Kitty comments to Damian.

"After we eat, any chance I could get you to give me an exhibition?" Kitty asks of the younger brother. She takes a bite of her eggs before refocusing on Jason. "Powered suits? I hadn't heard. Is this like, Iron Man kind of stuff?" she asks curiously.
Jason Todd "Bruce pretty much has all of us train. Damian's more of the combat prowess." Jason offers, "But if you want to watch him throw me around for a bit." there's a smirk at that. "You better make it worth my while." His smile is warm as he watches Kitty enjoy her meal, pleased with himself.

"Yeah. What did they call it. Crimson Dynamo?" Reaching over to the counter, he gets his phone.

He scrolls a bit to find the story in the Gotham Gazette about the armor and it's pilot, Galina, visiting the city. "I'm guessing after that video on social media with the whole.. robots thing." Sentinels. It brings a flash of disappointment and anger to his features.
Kitty Pryde Kitty - or Katherine - gives a soft laugh at the talk of Jason getting thrown around. "It sounds like it would certainly be worth /my/ while," Kitty tells him. She reaches over to give Jason's arm a soft touch. The young brunette woman has a fond smile for him as she makes that contact, though keeps it short to not nauseate Jason's younger brother.

"Yes, the Russia stuff is, very troubling," Kitty says softly. "Makes you wonder what's really going on in there. The stuff that isn't managing to leak out," she says, looking troubled.

Really, how much trouble could she get in if she hacked the Avengers database again, to find out what they know? It's something she's been considering for a few days. She looks up and smiles to Jason. Must be thinking about him, right?
Damian Wayne      Damian looks a bit surprised at the request, then as he chews, looking between the two. Once he finishes the bite he answers. "Umm, sure if you want." He comments, a slight blush coming to his face. "Why would they be sending that around? Oh..." He saw that video, and it wasn't a good thing. Instead of anger, he was just showing sadness.
Jason Todd Working on finishing his meal, Jason considers for a moment. "It's totally troubling. Can only imagine if they try to introduce something like that in the States." he mentions as he feels the touch, and he reaches over to cover Kitty's hand, giving it an affectionate squeeze.

She's /clearly/ thinking about him. Just like he's thinking about her, and not busting open the Crimson Dynamo armor to ask Galina more directly what her business in Gotham is after their first encounter caught him off-guard. Releasing her hand, he forks his eggs before sweeping it in the steak juice to eat them together.
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde gives Damian a smile at his answer. "Excellent. So what style of martial arts is it?" Kitty asks before getting another bite of her eggs. "This is really good," she tells Jason when she finishes swallowing the bite. "Thank you for cooking. And I'm glad Damian was able to come over. It's nice getting to meet you," she says to him.

Kitty works on her steak for a bit, sighing. She glances over to Jason, and he might see the extra warmth in her smile as he made the steaks rather than bacon. The gesture wasn't lost on her. "Were you wanting to go see the exhibit, the armor?" she asks Jason.
Damian Wayne      Damian gives a sheepish smile before nodding. "I hold black belts in tae kwon do, judo, and jujitsu." Among many others, but three was enough for the public face.
Jason Todd "Showoff." Jason says with a teasing smirk to Damian at the mention of his only modest three black belts. "Yeah. I considered it. Would you want to go with me?" he asks Kitty curiously. "Though it is totally my turn to visit you, if I recall right?" he asks.

As he finishes his plate, he sets it aside, working instead on his coffee to finish it.
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde is still eating, though getting near to finishing. "Wow. Black belts in all three? That's pretty amazing, Damian," Kitty tells him. "And you're what, like, 15?" she asks. Ok, she thinks he's more like 13 or 14 thanks to his acting, but said 15 to be on the safe said. God bless the safe side.

Kitty takes a sip of her coffee and tells Jason, "I'd be willing to go if you'd like," she tells him. "And, yes it is, but I'm here in town now. So why not?" she offers. Kitty slides a hand over, just resting it against Jason's arm, fingers resting there as she finishes up the last of her meal. Just a few more bites and then she pulls her hand back as she stands up and begins bussing any empty plates to the sink. "You cooked, so I get to clean up," she says, starting in washing.
Damian Wayne      "Yeah, I'm fifteen." He comments, giving another smile. "I spend a lot of time on it. Just, you know, like to work on the skills." It was his sport, and he was as devoted to it as other athletes his age.
Jason Todd "I can help you clean. It's about time for Damian to get back to the manor to start on his lessons. We can do the sparring thing later. She does a little training in martial arts as well." Jason offers, beaming a warm smile of pride to Kitty. Clearly that was a hint to Damian.
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde washes the plates, and gets the pans to start in on them. "That's great that you have been learning so much from it. Maybe that'll end up being a career for your some day on its own?" Kitty tells Damian with a smile.

The comment from Jason results in Kitty giving a soft laugh. "Oh, I imagine any of my experience there is /far/ different from Damian's."

Lord let that be the case. Poor kid shouldn't go through something like that.
Damian Wayne      Damian takes a moment to look at his WayneTech watch, seeing the time. "Oh no, yeah I have to get back. Dad doesn't like it when I'm late." He starts rushing to get himself together. "Thanks for breakfast, Jason! Nice to meet you, Katherine!" He calls out, bounding out of the space, hoping to catch the next bus.
