Andrea Outside as promised is Andrea, who is wearing a pair of workout shorts and a baggy white t-shirt over a black sports bra. She is currently doing some rounds of stretching to limber herself up. She has already worked up a bit of a sweat it seems from being outside and moving about. Plucking up a bottle of water from a table nearby, she takes a quick sip, then pours a bit over her head to cool her brown down.
Laura Kinney     Laura comes out. Jeans, t-shirt; standard Laura attire. But she moves over to Andrea. "We should talk." she says, with the normal lack of preamble that goes along to talking with Laura.
Andrea "Yeah? Like, girl to girl talk or teammate talk?" Andrea asks with a bit of concern, holding out the bottle of water for her if she is interested. "What's going on?"
Laura Kinney Laura considers that. "I suppose both." She declines the water, with a shake of her head. "I think I am leaving the school." the short girl answers.
Andrea "Wait, why? Uh.. You can't... leave... we're kinda a team...and you're my best friend, and you literally keep me sane." Andrea says as she puts the water back down, then heads over to close the distance. "What happened? Is it classes? Is someone messing with you?" She pauses. "... Is it /Evan?/"
Laura Kinney "It is not classes." Laura states and hesitates. "I spent my entire early life blindly following orders, Andrea. It was a bad decision. I find myself unwilling to do it again. This curfew the school wishes to enforce...I am more combat-capable than many of the X-Men. Much less students. I do not think that I will let other people decide what is best for me, when I have more tactical training than they do."
Andrea ".. Laura, you don't... actually go out and do stuff /anyways/, so how is a curfew gonna affect you any? It's only enforced because the /real/ students, you know... those who didn't have your upbringing can be safe. For you to be safe also. Big robots the size of houses are hunting mutants now and even you as kick ass as you are may get hurt, you know? Or kidnapped, or ... made an example of. You know what I mean? What if they try and attack you, so they can force you to show aggression in public? Then it gives them more reasons to shove the robots down our throat and say the people need them for protection." Andrea rubs her shoulder a bit. "You and I are both capable fighters, and I think we have good heads on our shoulders to make decisions out there, but look at someone like.. Doogie, or I dunno.. Mason. The curfew won't be forever, you know. Just until the teachers have a plan. Then we will go back to being normal." Her eyes looks concerned at her. "Do you feel trapped?"
Laura Kinney "Then they should be restricted. Not those who are capable fighters. I do not agree with the decision, Andrea. And I have already made the mistake of abiding by decisions I do not agree with before. I will do what /I/ think is right." She says, simply.
Andrea "Have you talked to Scott or Jean about this yet, or is this an emotional impulse?" Andrea asks as she rocks on her feet. "Did you need to go somewhere during curfew hours?" She asks as she rubs the back of her neck. "Or is this more the principal of things?"
Laura Kinney "I have attempted to speak with them. They have been unavailable. And this is the principle of things. I will not follow directives I do not agree with." Laura says stubbornly.
Andrea "That's not how life works though Laura. Sometimes you gotta follow the leader if it means the best for your team. What if you leaving the school because you didn't agree got you captured. We would then be forced to rescue you, thus putting us at risk, right? Same as if I was to just leave and get captured. Think of your friends and how we'd feel if you got hurt." Andrea says as she rocks her feet a bit. "There is an enemy out there that is willing to kill children out of hatred, Laura. We just gotta give the teachers a little bit of time to figure it out, work with their allies and then fix it. Until then, why don't we just blow off steam in the DR? Go work out together? Get some teamwork stuff going? I am always willing to practice."
Laura Kinney "I will not be captured." Laura says, with what may be disturing finality. "Neither working out nor practicing address my issues of blindly following directives in this matter, Andrea.
Andrea "Laura, are you being serious right now? We have /always/ had rules here at the school. Go to class on time. Treat people with respect. Don't sneak off with the Blackbird and use it for fast food purposes. We have a ton of rules here. Why is /this/ one so important that you can't be a little bit patient?" Andrea asks as she frowns at her. "You are not captured. We don't capture friends and family here. We are not prisoners."
Laura Kinney "It is not an issue of rules. It is an issue of abiding by rules that I do not agree with. Do you not see the difference?" Laura asks. "I did not expect this. I expected you would support me."
Andrea "Laura, come on." Andrea says with a sigh. "You're my best friend. You know I support you on pretty much everything. All I'm saying is that we aren't prisoners and that the rule is designed to protect us and the school. That's all. Just give it some time and see what happens. Please?"
Laura Kinney "I have given it time. Several days already." Laura shakes her head. "You must do what is right for you, Andrea." she says, simply. "And I will do the same."
Andrea Rubbing the back of her neck, Andrea looks visibly emotional as she shifts her jaw, chewing on the inside of her cheek. She gives her a hurt look, brows lifting upwards. "So, you're really going to just take off, after everything we've been through together? Just like that?"
Laura Kinney "If we had not "been through things together", I would not have come to speak with you, Andrea. I would just have left. I am your friend. And I always will be, regardless of where I am."
Andrea "And if you cared about the team, about the people here, you won't just go off and leave because you're mad at a rule. You'd trust the X-Men to keep everyone safe, just until this is resolved. They are including the New Mutants on more things now and they may need us out there in the field to help them against these robots." Andrea insists. "And out of all of us, you and I are the two most equipped to go out and deal with that stuff. Please, don't go.. not yet. Let's talk to Scott together first, please?"
Laura Kinney Laura looks back, unblinkingly. "I am not "mad"." Indeed, if anything, the problem is the /lack/ of emotion in her tone. As usual. "I will wait another day, before acting. Because you have asked. If I cannot speak with Mr. Summers before that, then I will do what I feel I must." The concept of "trusting others to keep everyone safe"...Andrea might as well have suggested the sky was made out of Jello, given how alien that looks, based on Laura's reaction.
Andrea Letting out a sigh, Andrea rocks again on her ankles, then plucks up her water to take another sip. "Okay." She says dejectedly.
Laura Kinney Laura looks back to Andrea, and there's a pause. Not one of hesitation, really. More that she...doesn't know what to do. A mix of confusion and frustration crosses her face, and then the brunette turns to start for her room.
