Owner Pose
Damian Wayne      Days had passed since the others had caught up with each other. Since he was still in costumed limbo for the moment.

Word had been sent to Carrie that she didn't need to care for Abbadon any longer, that Damian had returned.

It was not the night yet, but the seclusion of the Wayne Manor grounds was enough to keep most peeping eyes from prying. Damian was standing next to a calf, with a strange pattern across her eyes. They were close to a pen that held the bovine normally. "You're growing nicely." He says to the calf, petting her flank.
Carrie Kelley It was good to hear that Damian was back. Enough so that once Carrie brings Abbadon back up to the manor proper she sets out in search of him. At the very least she could catch up face-to-face instead of over comms as they breifly had while he was on his trip. Alfred informed her he was out around the pens, but not as to why. It was partially curiosity as well as a desire to greet him that has her heading out toward where Damian, and apparently a calf, were.

"New friend of yours, Damian?" Comes her bemused greeting as she catches sight of the pair. Tipping her head to one side she grins at the sight with a soft cooing 'aww' beneath her breath over the calf. Hey, she was still a girl. The calf was pretty darn cute.
Damian Wayne      The four month old brown and white calf looks to Carrie as she approaches, giving her a moo. "She was the last one alive in the slaughterhouse, a front for drug-runners."

Damian stands and turns to Carrie. "I decided to save her instead, she will be good for the orchard." He comments before giving a slight smile.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley chuckles quietly at that moo. "I've never seen a cow up close before. She's so cute," she has to admit as she reaches out a hand to let the calf sniff her hand. She didn't have any treats, but she figured much like a dog or even a cat, she would want to investigate before accepting any pets. While allowing her the time to do that her attention shifts to Damian again with a grin. "I'm glad to see you back, Damian. How are you doing?"
Damian Wayne      "Neither had I...and I was covered in blood by the time that mission was done. Saw plenty of cows too." The calf is very friendly, and sniffs at Carrie's hand, followed by a nudge with her nose. "I am fine. Father had found my breadcrumbs."

Damian still had a bit of a sad look on his face. "Convinced me here was a better place for me than anywhere else. I agreed, after a while."
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley lifts her other hand to give the calf a good rubbing along her nose, and back up toward those ears. Lots of scritches, just rough enough to be felt through that thick hair but not enough to risk hurting.

"That... yeah. That's not a good thing to got hrough." Blood. Covered in it? She looks back to Damian with eyebrows drawn together in concern at such a thing. "Well I'm glad you're okay. I had words with your dad about the situation, before he started looking for you. Or maybe he already had. He's hard to read." A light shake of her head comes. "Did you find what you needed though?"
Damian Wayne      The calf seems very happy to be pet, ear waggling with happiness, her 'mask' looked incredibly like Batman's chest. Damian watches Carrie as she looks at him like that. "Cow's blood. They had vats, it was disgusting."

The boy answered her last question with ease. "No. But it helped."

A grimace forms on his mouth as he thinks. "Do you know how long I sleep?" He asks, going somewhere with this.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley continues to give the lovings though it turns one handed as her attention turns once more to Damian. It was a way for her to give him some time to speak without staring him down. Plus, cute cow. Even with the bat symbol on her face. Also cute if odd. "That's... kind of unsettling. The blood thing. I never thought of that." Ew. She'd rather not think about it now. Thankfully Damian changes the topic.

"I don't, no. How long do you sleep?" Turning her green eyes toward him she just waits, listening patiently.
Damian Wayne      "Three hours, or less. Every night, I see death. My professors flown in from the best schools around the globe. As soon as I had learned all from them. Mother attached them to weights and dropped them in the ocean. Then when I was sent into missions, the sun passed by them. I saw their bodies, frozen in agony as their lungs had filled with seawater off the coast of Infinity Island."

Damian keeps his eyes on Bat-Cow, staring at her. "I see scores of bat dragons, murdered by my hand, all except one, only for a trinket that my Grandfather wanted for himself."

"I killed plenty of creatures that deserved it, and those that did not. Haunting my subconscious in my dreams."
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley purses her lips together tight restraining her from saying anything. There were a few choice words she would like to utter about Ra's al Ghul and Damian's mother once she hears these things. Yet, it would do little good. So she remains silent, taking slow deep breaths as she contemplates what *would* help. If anything.

"You know. It's funny. When you're a kid, you feel like you don't have a choice about things. As you get older you realize... You do. That's when you start making your own decisions instead of following the orders of your parents. You decide what you want to do, who you want to listen to. It doesn't change the past. Just means you have control of your future."

One last stroke is given to Batcow's cheek before her hand drops away. "You did good saving her."
Damian Wayne      Damian gives a nod, feeling like she is understanding him more than the others ever did. "That's what being Robin was for me. Then he took it away from me, made it feel I wasn't batter than what I was."

Damian takes a cube from his pocket and holds it out to Carrie. "Palm flat." He often spoke to the animals, even Goliath. "They're good listeners."
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley reaches out to accept the sugar cube, and follows his instruction. It's held out to the calf palm up with a small smile. "Yeah. They are. They don't judge. They just look at you as who you are now, to them. I always wanted a pet. Couldn't really where I lived. Then I got involved more at school and just didn't have the time."

There's a light shake of her head. "Even without him taking it away, you aren't going to be Robin forever. That's a title that gets passed on from what I've seen. But it is a nice symbol of how to be better." Glancing back toward Damian she asks, "Who do you want to be?"
Damian Wayne      The calf gently licks up the cube and chews on it. "I knew there was a reason I chose to learn from you." He comments, following her comments on animals. "I do not know. Only what I do not want to be. I thought I wanted to be Batman..." He adds, shying away from looking directly at Carrie.
Carrie Kelley "You have so many choices, Damian. So many possibilities, and years yet to realize them." Carrie gives the calf's nose a fond little rub as she searches for more sugar cubes. "It's okay to change your mind. It's okay to not know. You know what you don't want. That's a start. Work from there. Work out what else you don't want and find what you do along the way. Adapt as you need to."

Carrie flashes Damian a smile whether he looks her way or not. "I'm glad you did become my student. I'm also glad it wasn't your mom who hired me, no offense." A small joke... but she was trying to lighten the moment just a bit. Letting out a small sigh she reaches out toward Damian now to put her hand on his opposite shoulder intending to tug him in for a half hug. It's slow, and light, and she gives more than ample opportunity to pull away if he wants. But the offer is more than there as well. "Your dad is hard to talk to sometimes, and your brothers come from a different place than you did. If you ever need someone to listen as you figure things out, I'm here."
Damian Wayne      Damian allows himself to be touched and embraced. He would never admit it, but that kind of contact was something he yearned for.

"Mother...is difficult. But Grandfather...is ruthless." Damian had plenty of scars earned in the process of attempting to please his grandfather as an heir. "Technically even Father did not." A moment passes before he looks to Carrie. And in Bruce's voice: "Hello, is this Carrie Kelley? I saw your ad for acting lessons and was interested in signing up my son." Much like a familiar call he would have placed before.
Carrie Kelley The corners of Carrie's mouth twitch a little bit as she attempts to refrain from smiling. That was quite the impressive trick after all. "Yeah... I kind of guessed that part actually," she has to admit. "Given the way he reacted when I came out here the first time to yell at him about ignoring you. Just for a moment he seemed like he had no idea what I was talking about." Grinning more she adds, "That is really a great skill though. If you ever want to go into voice acting you are set."
Damian Wayne      Damian's voice comes back as he giggles, something that even Dick had never seen him do. Then in Carrie's voice: "Hey, Bruce, you suck as a dad. Damian is like totally the best guy ever and you suck with a capital S."

To which Damian is in stitches, figuratively. Putting a valley girl accent on Carrie's voice.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley can't resist breaking out into laughter herself at that. His shoulder gets a little squeeze, and then she nudges him away from her with a gentle swat between his shoulder blades. "OH my god I do not sound like that! You should do that to Jason sometime though. I'd love to see his reaction." Grinning at him she shrugs faintly, and changes the topic. "Abaddon is back in the mansion, by the way. When you're done out here you should visit him. He probably misses you."
Damian Wayne      Damian makes a kissing noise with his lips, leading the calf to the pen and barn. "Thank you, for taking care of him for me. He says, smile on full display. "He means a great deal to me." Anyone could see that Damian loves the animals he takes care of. Abbadon was not an exception.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley flashes another smile at him. "No problem. It was nice having his company for awhile." With that, she heads off leaving Damian to reaquaint himself with his kitteh.
