Snake Eyes It's been raining for most of the day so when things clear up that evening lots of people hit the street. The temperature is pretty moderate and most of the humidity has left the air. Overall, the neighborhood is pretty nice right now.

Outside of the one of the various shops there's a white panel van parked in front of a meter. It doesn't look out of the ordinary when compared to the other vehicles there unless one happens to have X-Ray vision, in which case there's a couple of people in back with a load of electronic monitoring equipment. One is a young woman dressed in regular street clothes and carrying a concealed pistol. The other is a ninja, Snake Eyes, armed to the teeth as if expecting trouble. They appear to be watching one of the businesses on that part of the street and are quite attentive to their duties.
Mon-El     Snake Eyes may notice someone he recognizes coming out of that business he was watching, which happens to be a moderately sized grocery store. It's Lar Gand, the Daxamite he met in Starling earlier. Though Lar probably wouldn't recognize Snake unless he looked through snake's clothes.

Thus far, nothing seems too out of the ordinary, save for some suspicious looking characters lurking around the store. To the untrained eye, they just look like some ordinary teenagers, but actually, if one looks closely, there's a bit of an odd shimmer to their bodies that is supsicious of some kind of illusion.

When Lar leaves, they wait a minute or so and then leave as well, appearing to be laughing and talking amongst themselves.
Snake Eyes That's a strange coincidence. Snake points to Lar on the video screen his partner is working at and then taps on one of the keyboards there, 'Alien I mentioned in my debrief. Seems decent.'

The woman with him chuckles a little bit and comments, "Cool! He's the first alien I've seen that wasn't shooting at people." As she comments she glances over the other camera feeds and frowns. "We've got something weird on the cameras, Snake. Looks like some kind of interference. That, or those kids have something really weird going on."

The ninja looks at the screen and taps it when they start heading in the same direction as his alien acquaintance. He types, 'Tail them. Stalker's team can take over here.'

Once she's gotten instruction from her NCO the tech specialist gives a "Roger" and gets on a radio to contact the other Action Force troops while moving to the front seat to start the vehicle.
Mon-El     The so-called 'kids' keep walking casually, even stopping to take selfies of themselves every so often, but never quite letting the Daxamite out of their sight. A few minutes down the road though, and Lar stops suddenly, frowning and looking around. He turns around....

And that's when the group of teenagers are no longer human teenagers any more. There's a flash of light, and some kind of teal-colored glowing rune on the ground under their feet. Now there are two alien-looking creatures standing there, ivory-skinned and sporting tentacled heads instead of hair.

"Your Highness," they seem to speak in unison with each other. "Time to go home." Tendrils of light move from their hands and wrap themselves around Lar, from which he seems to be unable to break free...
Snake Eyes The van follows along behind the suspicious duo, Snake Eyes in the back watching the video feed of the teenagers while his battle buddy does the driving. When they suddenly change both the ninja and his handler spring into action. Snake starts to type rapidly, 'ETs on the field. Backup requested. Friendly ET in danger.'

The driver touches her earpiece and says, "TOC, we've got some weird alien tech going on. We're going to need..." She pauses for a moment. "Snake Eyes is getting out."

And it's true, the ninja commando slides the door of his van open and hops out, heading towards the tentacle headed attackers. They're not using lethal force yet and so the ninja won't either, instead he tries to sneak up behind one of them and slide his arm around its throat to put it in a rear naked choke. Hopefully there's major arteries in their necks, otherwise it might not work.
Mon-El     "Hrrgkk!" Snake manages to take the alien by surprise, and assuming it has at least a sort of similar physiology to humans was a fairly good educated guess, given they do seem to be bilateral and such. This interrupts whatever he was doing to Lar, although the other one seems to be able to compensate for the time being.

The one in the headlock tries to twist around and get out of Snake's grasp, while at the same time producing a shortsword or knife of some kind which he attempts to stab backward with and hopefully plunge somewhere into his human assailant's body. There may be a reason they're not using lethal force on Lar, but they don't seem to have any qualms about using it on anyone -else-.
Snake Eyes With an arm around the alien's throat Snake hardly has a chance to get out of the way of the blade coming for his guts. That's all he needs, though, his reflexes bordering on the superhuman. Letting go of the being the ninja slides backwards to give himself some space and draws his katana from it's sheathe on his back. He turns towards the alien still doing something to Lar and moves towards him, hoping the first guy is busy dealing with a lack of oxygen to his brain.

In the van Snake's partner is talking on her radio, "Stalker, this is Dial-Tone. Snake's swordfighting some aliens at this location. I think he could use backup."
Mon-El     Tentaclehead #2 seems to finish up the spell he was casting on Lar, the strange tendrils appearing to pin him to some kind of invisible wall like a giant glowing spider web. The creature turns around then to face Snake Eyes as the ninja comes at him, quickly conjuring up some a shield that he tries to use to block the katana and knock his assailant to the ground.

Meanwhile, #1 is still doubled over a bit from that headlock, but isn't completely out yet. It looks like he might recover in half a minute or so though.
Snake Eyes As his first strike is blocked and Snake Eyes is rushed by the shield alien the GI Joe trooper dashes to the side to try to keep from being bowled over. As he gets out of the way he tumbles on the ground, trying to come up on the side of his opponent with an upward slash. It's a swift, elegant strike, aimed for the midsection of the strange being.

"Oh crap..." Dial-Tone says to herself, pulling her gun from under her shirt. She points it at the aliens through the windshield but refrains from engaging, hoping they just don't notice her for now. Over the radio she says, "They can make shields out of thin air, guys."
Mon-El     Purple sparks fly from the magical shield when Snake's katana strikes it, but he does manage to avoid getting bowled over by rolling and coming up on the left flank. The strike connects with the alien's midsection, tearing through armor of some kind, but not causing much damage other than that.

By now, #1 has managed to recover from the headlock, and steps back slightly, casting a bright bolt of eldritch energy at the ninja. For the time being, they do not notice Dial-Tone.
Snake Eyes The magical attack aimed his way gets a big reaction from Snake Eyes, who does a back flip through the air in an attempt to make it miss. Even as his body twists in space the commando places his hand on his submachine gun's grip and points it at the 'shooter'. As his sights cross the alien's midsection he presses the trigger and lets out a short, controlled burst, sending armor piercing bullets towards the tentacled fellow.

Dial-Tone isn't freaking out, but she's not doing great, "Oh crap." The woman shakes her head and keeps talking on the radio, "They've got some kind of energy weapon they're using now. The friendly ET is restrained somehow."
Mon-El     The bolt passes just barely under Snake as he flips through the air, instead striking a parked car that happened to be behind him and causing it to burst into flame. Well, hopefully whoever owns that car has supernatural events coverage on their auto policy. #2 was about to prepare another volley when he gets shot in the midsection. The rounds tear through its armor, and some kind of strange greenish liquid spews out, landing on the sidewalk and hissing as it seem to partially dissolve the concrete.

#2 collapses to the ground, but while the ninja had been focused on dodging that bolt, #1 conjures up a barrage of electrical orbs that fly at at Snake in a syncrhonized fashion, rotating about each other as they come at him.
Snake Eyes More energy attacks come his way and Snake is forced to duck for cover, launching himself over a row of newspaper vending machines. Going prone on the other side he hopes to avoid being fried by the orbs. It's not the best position for him to end up in, being pinned down by a magical alien, but it's not something he can manage to avoid at this time.

As Snake Eyes seems to have the aliens' full attention Dial-Tone ventures forth from the vehicle, moving low to the ground with her weapon at the ready. She's not going to risk drawing fire from the strange villains, no, she's going to try to free the Daxamite. Not knowing what sort of technology is involved she's just going to try to pull the creepy tendrils from him.
Mon-El     Well, it does seem that Snake Eyes has managed to get #2 down for the count. But now he still has to deal with #1. The mini ball lightning hits the vending machines, the electricity easily moving through them until they touch the concrete sidewalk and are absorbed into the ground.

The remaining tentaclehead levitates upward a bit, trying to find Snake Eyes again. "Why do you involve yourself in affairs that do not concern you, Terran?" it asks. "Run now, before it's too late." Unsuccessful in locating the ninja, he starts to concentrate, appearing to channel something between his hands. Those who aren't familiar with magic probably won't have any clue what he's doing, but it's anyone's guess that it's bad news. Probably some huge AoE thing...

The alien that Snake Eyes shot is still lying on the sidewalk, bleeding out probably and definitely not in any shape to go after Dial-Tone. But when she tries to touch the strange light construct, part of the tendril she touches peels away and grabs at her instead, trying to pull her in and trap her the same way it has Lar trapped!
Snake Eyes The ninja is strangely silent. Well, not so strangely for those that know he doesn't make a lot of noise anyway. Staying low to the ground he attempts to maneuver around the alien, hoping to get the drop on it from behind before it can do whatever it's planning on doing with the energy between its hands. Should Snake Eyes get into position he'll aim his weapon at the back of the mage's head and press the trigger, trying to turn the thing off permanently.

Dial-Tone, a trained soldier herself, has pretty good reflexes. Unfortunately she isn't quick enough to dodge the magical tendril that wraps around her wrist. Gritting her teeth she refrains from making any noise, trying to avoid drawing the alien's attention to her.
Mon-El     Dial-Tone would find that the strange tendril seems to be burning her, the pain escalating with every second she remains in its grip. Additionally, more smaller tendril peel away, trying to grab at her and pull her into itself.

Snake manages to avoid the alien's notice, but even as the bullets fly from his weapon, a massive wave of purple energy explodes out from the magic-wielder, wrecking anything in its path. Although apparently, at least one shot from the ninja's weapon has managed to punch through and blow out its brains. At the end of it all, there is a crater in the street a few hundred feet across, with a dead alien at the center of it, its corrosive green blood quickly pooling around it.

As soon as both of the tentacleheads are down, the strange light cage dissolves, dropping both Lar and Dial-Tone.
Snake Eyes Squeezing her eyes shut against the pain Dial-Tone does everything she can to keep from crying out, but it gets worse and worse until... Until she's suddenly free! "Oh my god," she sighs as she falls to her knees on the ground, wrapping his arms around her body as if to insulate it. As she recovers her senses and notes the enemy aliens seem to be down and there's a massive crater all of the sudden she shakes her head, "This is going to be tough to cover up."

Snake Eyes gets up from where he'd dived to avoid being taken out by the massive area attack, taking a look around at the street for signs of any more threats. As his partner seems to be alive and kicking despite their van collapsing into the crater he sheathes his sword, safeties his firearm and performs a tactical reload on it, trying to stay ready for action.

The ninja moves towards the pair that had been magically entangled, looking them over to make sure that they're okay. He produces a cell phone like gizmo and starts typing on it, 'Clean up needed. Lock down the area, call in the ET guys.'
Mon-El     It seems the threats have been neutralized for now. Lar groans and peels himself off of the ground where he'd fallen when the weird light web disappeared. "Ugh, I hate magic..." he grumbles, then looks up at Dial-Tone and Snake Eyes. "Thanks."

He arches a brow at Snake, though. "I've seen you before, I think." he mentions. "...have I?"
Snake Eyes "You're welcome," Dial-Tone replies to the Daxamite, hardly able to look up for very long as she shakes off the pain she'd just experienced. "If that was magic I don't want to deal with it ever again. I mean, 'crucio', am I right?" She's feeling well enough to try joking again, at least. Then she seems to remember something and exclaims, "Oh no!" She grabs for her ear and speaks over the radio, "Hostiles down. No friendly casualties."

Getting close, Snake Eyes looks at Lar and nods his head. He makes a one handed gesture that involves him touching his hand to his lips. With his phone still in his hand he starts typing, then shows it off, 'Please keep it quiet. Secret agent stuff.'
Mon-El     Lar frowns at Dial-Tone when she seems to still be a bit shaken up, examining her body with his X-ray vision. She seems to be all right, though. "Crucio?" he asks, not understanding the reference. "What does that mean?"

He nods at Snake. "Of course, your secret's safe with me." he says with a smile.

Then he turns back to Dial-Tone. "Oh, right. I'm Lar Gand." he says by way of introduction.
Snake Eyes "Oh, it's a thing from Harry Potter," Dial-Tone explains somewhat awkwardly. "Its about magic users and stuff and 'crucio' was a spell that makes people feel pain. "It's nice to meet you, sir. I'm Dial-Tone."

Snake Eyes gives Lar a thumbs up. He signs a bunch at Dial-Tone who translates it, "Snake wants to know if you want to stick around for a debrief with the higher ups. He's got to get out of here before people start taking too many pictures of the ninja."

From down the street a van with markings that show it belonging to a furniture store pulls close. The doors open and men in civilian clothes carrying firearms get out and begin checking for civilian casualties. Their leader heads for the dead aliens and shakes his head at them.

Snake Eyes waves at Lar and heads towards the vehicle, walking backwards to sign at Dial-Tone further. She says, "You can wait here or we can get with you if you provide us with contact information."
Mon-El     "Oh, a pleasure to meet you, Dial-Tone. I'm glad they didn't do you any real harm." Lar says once Dial-Tone explains. He'll have to look up who 'Harry Potter' is later. "At least, I don't think so." he says, frowning. "Not that I can see, anyway. I'd say you should still get someone who knows magic to have a look at you, just in case."

The men looking at the dead aliens will find that their blood has corroded the concrete a fair amount, but they are definitely dead by now, and there is no evidence of any conjured weapons or shields.

"Sure," he says at the request for a debrief. He pulls out a small subspace communicator and hands it to Snake. "You can use this to contact me."
Snake Eyes "I'll uh... I'll see if we can find someone," Dial-Tone replies to the Daxamite when he tells her to get checked out by someone who knows about magic.

The new arrivals start locking down the scene. They're professional about the whole mess, making sure that people don't get too close to the scene as they wait for uniformed personnel to arrive and take over the scene.

Snake Eyes takes the gizmo and looks it over, then nods at Lar.
Snake Eyes Some time later Snake Eyes contacts Lar on the subspace communicator he'd been given, using Dial-Tone to do the talking for him. He invited the alien to a nearby office for the promised debriefing. The site didn't really look like much, but that was probably the point of things. Snake's wearing his other mask, the one that makes him look like he didn't have his face burned off, and jeans and a hoodie. There are a number of other people around, all also wearing civvies. Dial-Tone is among them, typing away on a laptop and touching her earpiece to say, "Yeah, magic totally sucks. At least being on the receiving end of it. I'm supposed to get a magical check up or something, Snake says he knows somebody."

The ninja moves to stand outside of the building, waiting for the Daxamite. He's leaning against the wall next to the front door, chilling out and enjoying the feel of the evening air.
Mon-El     Lar lands near the building and approaches the door, since most structures on Earth are designed for people who can't fly. He is also just dressed in a jacket and jeans and a T-shirt. "Hey Snake." he greets, smiling amicably. He overhears Dial-Tone saying magic sucks and totally agrees with her 100%. Magic DOES suck. A lot. Because like, he can't just punch it away like he does to most other problems in his life.
Snake Eyes Waving at the newcomer, Snake grins at Lar. He produces his phone and unlocks it, a message already on it: 'You doing okay? I got Dial-Tone inside to interpret for me whenever you're ready.'

Dial-Tone's still working on something on the computer and keeping up her side of the conversation, "Anyway, I've reviewed the video of the incident and it looks like they actually created weapons and shields out of thin air. It's totally wild. I'm not sure what species they were, but they're being examined by our science people and we've got someone coming in to hopefully fill us in. Anyway, I think I saw him arrive out front. Take it easy, I gotta go."
Mon-El     Lar nods. "I'm good to go whenever you are. Yeah, I've definitely had worse, trust me." He frowns pensively. "Right, I think I told you about Glorith. The one witch who wouldn't leave me and my friends alone for a while because I wouldn't marry her."

"Anyway, I think Dial-Tone is waiting for us, now." he says once he hears her get off of the phone.
Snake Eyes After giving a thumbs up Snake waves for Lar to follow him into the building. He leads the way, nodding at Dial-Tone to come follow him as he makes his way to an office in back. She smiles at Lar and says to him, "Hey. Nice to see you again."

The office is pretty sparse. A desk with a couple of chairs at it and a video camera in the corner. Snake Eyes gestures for the other two to have a seat. He starts signing and Dial-Tone interprets, "Do you mind if the camera records this? Also, something about how he's glad you didn't have to marry that witch. Insert obligatory joke about woman troubles." She looks at Snake and grins as she asks, "Really, boss?"
Mon-El     "Hey, Dial-Tone." Lar greets the woman as he enters the building and follows the two of them into the back where the plain office is. Sitting down at the desk, he watches Snake signing and listens to Dial-Tone's translation. He is actually starting to pick it up a little bit by now. Language is something that sort of comes naturally to him, given all the time he has spent traveling throughout the galaxy.

As such, he starts to shake his head even before Dial-Tone starts talking, though he doesn't interrupt her, either. "Not at all." a chuckle at the comment about Glorith. "Yeah, me too. Sometimes I'm not sure if she actually was in love with me, just didn't know how to express it right, or if she just wanted to use me."
Snake Eyes Once he's given the go ahead Snake Eyes turns on the camera and sets it to record. He moves to the desk and looks down at a clipboard with a bunch of papers on it, then starts signing again. He's kind of noticed that Lar's starting to get it so he makes sure that both of the people in the room can see what he's doing. Dial-Tone translates, "Could you state your full name and where you're from, please?"
Mon-El     Lar waits for the camera to be ready, then replies to the question. "Lar Gand, Daxam. I could get more specific, but I don't think it would matter given the state of things there at the moment..." he sighs a little at that.
Snake Eyes Nodding, Snake Eyes signs and Dial-Tone speaks for him, "That's good enough." The ninja's hands continue to move quickly, "Who were those people that attacked you? What was there species and where were they from? Are their people a potential threat to Earth or residents of Earth?" Dial-Tone actually smiles at that, "Very inclusive of you, Snake. We don't protect just humans, after all."
Mon-El     "I'm not sure, to be honest. I didn't get a good look at them thanks to their illusion spells and that...whatever that thing was they trapped me in." Lar sighs. "They looked like they might been from Zerox, though--it wouldn't be a surprise given their uh, mystical prowess. As to why they attacked, I can only guess they wanted me alive." He pauses. "I mean, I can definitely think of a lot of people who would want me alive for...a variety of reasons. So they were probably mercs on some contract."
Snake Eyes Snake Eyes nods, pressing his lips tightly together as he processes the information he just received. His hands flash, "Were you harmed physically, mentally or emotionally by the attack? Would you like us to provide medical services or counseling to you?" After a moment for the Daxamite to reply there are are more questions, "If these mercenaries are from that planet how likely is it that they will attempt to retaliate?"
Mon-El     "It was painful, but I think I'll be fine. They didn't seem to want to cause me any serious injury." Lar replies to the first question. "Thanks for the offer, though."

The second question seems to take a moment to consider. "Well...it depends on who they were working for and what they wanted, exactly. If whoever they were working for is determined enough to hire people that good though, chances are they're probably determined enough to try again."
Snake Eyes "You're welcome," Dial-Tone says. Whether it came from her or Snake is anybody's guess. "Do you think you'll require protection from attacks? We can divert law enforcement assets to make sure that you're protected." The dude in the mask appears serious as he asks the question. After all, he's seen what magic can do firsthand now.

There's something else he wants to know, "Is there anyone they might go after to attempt to draw you out that will require protection?"
Mon-El     "Uhm..." Lar isn't so sure about that...he has an idea of who might be behind them, but--he doesn't really want to talk about that particular subject with them just yet. "Well what would your protection involve? I mean, I don't think I'd want humans following me around all the time. A lot of powerful people don't like me, and some of them are probably out of your league. No offense." he says finally. "As for anyone else..." he sighs. "Maybe Drake Winters. He's a friend of mine who almost got killed a while back. He's more capable now, but doubt he would've been able to fend off mercs like those by himself."
Snake Eyes "It would probably be a police detail assigned to you until such time as you could be deemed safe, but there are other possibilities," the Joes explain. "Though threats that are too powerful for them to deal with might require us to attempt to contact the Justice League or the Avengers for assistance." When they're given a name Snake Eyes nods and signs, "We can keep an eye on him. We have ways of monitoring people that they're unlikely to detect so we can keep tabs on both of you guys very subtly and alert locals if you're threatened and none of our personnel are nearby."
Mon-El     Lar nods. "Sounds like a plan. I appreciate your efforts, but yeah, maybe don't get -too- close unless you think you need to. Not that I don't trust you, I do, but I don't want your people getting killed or injured unnecessarily."
Snake Eyes "The last thing we want is for any friendlies to get killed," Dial-Tone interprets Snake's words. "Yourself included." Then Snake silently chuckles and rubs his hands together before using them to make more words, "Now the good part. Would you object to being asked to possibly consult on the matter of extra terrestrials in the future? There's a lot we don't know and we may need a subject matter expert at some point."
Mon-El     "I would have to agree with you on that one." Lar replies. "I try to avoid killing period, really--no matter who it is." He sighs a little. "Unfortunately, that's not always possible, but I wish it were."

Then he nods at the last question. "Sure, I gave you that communicator right? I'd be happy to answer questions about that sort of thing. I guess I do eventually found the United Planets." Not trying to brag, nope...just, it's true. Or will be true. It's awkward, talking about a future that technically 'already happened'.
Snake Eyes "Killing someone in combat is too often necessary," Dial-Tone says with a slight frown on her face. She looks at Snake and says as she watches his hands, "Sometimes they've got it coming, though."

"Wonderful. We don't really have much more to debrief you on. We're kind of interested in learning your capabilities, strengths and weaknesses, in the event others of your species start to cause trouble on Earth." Snake Eyes gets a curious look on his face, 'What is the United Planets? Like United Nations on a galactic level?'
Mon-El     Lar nods in response to the question about the United Planets. "Yeah, kind of. A thousand years from now, the Sol system will be teeming with life and civilization not only on Earth but on every planet that has some kind of habitable terrain to stand on."

He groans a bit at the mention of his kind causing trouble on Earth. "Heh, they already have. Fortunately most of the trouble makers are locked up on Takron-Galtos now. But there is one guy we never managed to track down...."
Snake Eyes "That will be something to look forward to," Dial-Tone actually says this before Snake has a chance to sign anything. "I mean, if I'm still around or if I have descendants." Her superior lets out another silent chuckle at the young woman's enthusiasm for the subject.

Then things get a little more serious, 'Aside from trying to contact you should we run across this guy, what do you recommend that we do to engage him? Any ways to injure or subdue him or should we focus on minimizing casualties until superpowered beings can be brought in?"
Mon-El     "Minimize casualties." Lar answers immediately. "I mean, unless you've got someone who can punch like Superman on your team..." He sighs again, running a hand through his hair. "Oh I guess I'd better just tell you. He's part of a xenophobic terrorist organization called the White Triangle, but to be honest a lot of my people have the same...uh, attitude. Including my parents. And they've caused trouble here before. They don't like me being here, and I think they're probably the ones harassing me through hired guns."
Snake Eyes "White Triangle? We'll start a dossier if we don't have one already," Dial-Tone interprets smoothly. "Maybe try to disseminate any information you can provide for us to government agencies to make them aware of their possible presence. Wouldn't want to be unprepared for an attack." Snake makes an expression of consideration, "Sorry about your family problems."
Mon-El     "Yeah...that's really all I know, to be honest. I know they exist in the future, but as far as I know they weren't supposed to exist in -this- century." Lar admits. "So how that somehow changed, I have no idea."

He sighs again at the mention of family problems. "I guess I don't 100% blame them for being the way they are, but--it's complicated." As these things typically tend to be. "The way they ran things back home wasn't very ethical. Well--before Krypton was destroyed and turned our surface into a wasteland. Now there's not much left -to- run."
Snake Eyes "Well, it's a start. Gives us something to look out for in the future," the young woman speaks while her male counterpart signs. "If you learn anything new we'd appreciate a heads up."

"Here's hoping your planet can be repaired and that things will become more ethical there. There are plenty of unethical governments here on Earth, that's for sure."
Mon-El     "I think they do, at least eventually." Lar replies. "But that won't be for a while." he shrugs. "Well, I'll let you know if I learn anything else important."

"Oh, and about my capabilities. Basically just Superman except not vulnerable to kryptonite. Or red solar radiation. Lead is our poison, well except for me, thanks to Brainiac's serum. And apparently the White Triangle guys. That's what they wanted when they came here. Unfortunately they got it, and even more unfortunately it drove them insane because it's supposed to be tailored to an individual's genetic profile. I mean, I could see someone from back home wanting it...but just not sure how they got to identifying by an organization that isn't supposed to exist for another thousand years."
Snake Eyes "Lead? For everybody but you and the White Triangles? Glad that you're not affected by it, but it's unfortunate the bad guys are immune as well. And crazy, too," The Joes exchange a glance between each other before resuming the conversation. "Is it possible some form of time travel may be involved? Have you had any experience with it?"
Mon-El     "It's possible. Either someone time traveled or found some way to send a message or something through time." Lar replies, nodding. "And yeah, I've been to the future and back...as you might have noticed." he chuckles. "Heck, if I hadn't, I wouldn't even be alive. You see, lead exposure to us isn't like kryptonite exposure. They can recover from that with enough yellow sun, but we can't. We get exposed once, we die unless someone gets that serum in time. That's it."
Snake Eyes "I figured as much," Dial-Tone laughs along with Lar a little bit as Snake grins. When things take their more serious turn their expressions reflect it. Snake signs, 'That sucks. Glad you managed to make it. Is there a way for us to possibly create more of the serum if more Daxamites get exposed to lead? It's a pretty common element on Earth and we don't want to accidentally kill people with it if it can be avoided.'
Mon-El     "I don't think you'll have to worry about accidentally killing one of us yourselves with it." Lar says a bit grimly. "If someone without protection even so much as comes to this planet, they're pretty much doomed without that serum. If that happens, the Legion will try to administer it before it's too late."
Snake Eyes "Okay," the Joes relax a little bit more after another glance between them and a nod from Snake. "I think that's all we've got for now. If we need you again we'll get with you on the communicator. If you don't mind we might keep you on speed dial for stuff we can't handle ourselves." Snake signs, 'We'll also keep you in the loop if we hear about any alien bounty hunters or mercenaries on Earth so you're not blindsided.' Then he asks, 'You need anything to eat or drink before you head off?'
Mon-El     "Thanks, Snake. And Dial-Tone." Lar says, nodding toward both of them. He chuckles at the offer of food. "I appreciate the offer, but that's all right. We don't actually need to eat food. Not to say that we won't just for the sake of enjoyment, but I wouldn't take it from someone else for that reason." Then he stands to leave.
Snake Eyes "You're welcome. Thanks for coming in for the debrief, we really appreciate it," Dial-Tone replies with a friendly smile. Snake moves to open the door to the office to lead Lar out towards the front door. He signs, "Good to hang out with you again. Let me know if you need anything and I'll try to help.' There are still a bunch of people working in the outer room. From their screens they seem to be going over the alien attack frame by frame. Looks somewhat tedious, but it's their job.
Mon-El     As Snake offers to help with anything, Lar pauses at the front door, chuckling a little. "Anything huh? Well you know what I could use a little bit of time some day to get some relationship advice." he admits. Because woman troubles, right? "Hard to find time to do that sort of thing I know. But you know, just one day."
Snake Eyes 'You got it, partner,' the ninja signs back at him. 'I used to do alright back in the day. We can meet for food or drinks some time when we're both free, I might still be a decent wing man. We can try to find out.' Snake Eyes has a big grin on his face, 'For now, I need to get back to work. After Action Reviews don't write themselves, sadly.'
