Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie is in the kitchen making some tea. He has the bags seeping in the hot water, and a pitcher nearby with a nice amount of sugar in it.
Kitora Alua	A portal tears open in the back of the kitchen in front of the walkin fridge door, as an eerie glowing girl floats out. Eerie that you can see glowing spots INSIDE her body. She smiles as she looks around, rubbing her stomach, as she heads right for the pantry and looks around. She then blinks, not even recognizing at first someone else is there. The portal is still open, and looking through it would see a dorm room. "Oh... ummm... hi. Sorry, didn't think anyone was here."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie does look at it, and through it. He hmmms, a bit as portals are getting a bit more common of late. "Hello there miss." He offers a smile, and pours the hot tea into the sugar and starts stirring it. "Don't think we have met."
Kitora Alua	Rift sniffsniffs. "Oh, that tea smells EXCELLENT. Is there any more?" she finally asks. "Oh, I'm Kitora. You can call me Rift. I moved out to go to college... but... recent events... I moved back." She finally finds some food and heads to the stove to start to prepare it. "Sorry - I'm here a lot. I... have to eat a LOT."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie hmms and nods his head a bit to this and says "Well a wonder we have not met before, and as soon as I finish your welcome to some, try to make sure we have a gallon or so int he fridge most of the time.
Kitora Alua	Rift nods as she makes a rather large batch of pancakes. "Want some pancakes? I made extra for you." It's a rather LARGE stack of pancakes, and she offers you a plate with two. "They're really yummy." She sets it by you and goes to town.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie will nod and says "Thank you." He will move to get two glasses of ice offering her a glass of tea once it is finished, and says "Ah am Sam, a pleasure to meet you. So, portals? He motions towards hers "Mind if I ask your range?
Kitora Alua	Rift smiles widely. "Well - I can go a few miles. Longer if I'm very very familiar with where I'm going." She hmmmmms softly. "Unfortuatnely, when I'm using my powers, I look like... this." She gestures to herself - her body is glowing dull red and semitranslucent - with bright red lights visible inside her limbs, and starbursts of these lights in her head and heart. "I can also control gravity - portals are a side-effect."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie hmms a bit to this and says "Interesting, Can you fly with your controll, or make things heavy and lighter, or what if you don't mind me asking. Ah'm a flyer, with a blast field that protects me."
Kitora Alua	Rift smiles. "Yes, and yes..." she states. "Unfortunately, I don't have much in the way of defense. I can deflect projectiles - and am fast... but if I get hit - I find it harder to use my powers." She sighs. "And... if I'm really hungry I can't either." She then sighs as she lets the portal collapse behind her, and her aura of power winks out, leavnig her looking like a relatively-normal Japanese-descent teenager (except with bright red hair and eyes).
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie hmms and nods his head a bit to this and says "So, if Ah may ask, you said you have returned after taking some time off, may Ah ask what brought ya back here?' He does eat some of his pancakes.
Kitora Alua	Rift has finished most of hers already. "Oh - I graduated high school and went to Empire State. Still am." She sighs. "The Sentinels... and a rise of anti-mutant sentiment... I decided that having a safe place to rest my head was better."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "Am doing my college classes here, so I can help some of the newer students find their way and such. Ah figure them having someoen close to their age who has been through it might help
Kitora Alua	Rift smiles. "Yeah - I should do that." She finishes her breakfast. "How do you fly?" she finally asks as she looks you over as she hmmmmms softly, chugging down a large glass of milk.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "Ah create a field around me, anda thermal kinetic blast from my feet, that propells me up and trough the air. Somewhat like a cannonball hence where I get my nickname"
Kitora Alua	Rift blinks. "Ah - you're Cannonball and I'm Rift. Wanna go flying?" she finally asks. "That could be a lot of fun." She mmmmms softly as she gestures vaguely towards the outside.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie smiles a bit and says "We can in a bit but, I think we should wait till we finish eatting." He teases a bit "So where are you from if I may ask."
Kitora Alua	Rift smiles. "Oh, Connecticut. I was relatively normal - till... my powers kindled... and... I tore my house apart in my initial panic. My family disowned me - they're bitter about me almost killing them accidentally - and I've been here since age 10."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie hmms and nods his head a bit to this and says Ah came here from Kentucky a good while back myself. Mine showed up while I was in the mine working and there was a cave in.
