Oliver Queen It's a busy time of evening in the Manhattan subways--everyone's heading home or already heading out for the night's dining and entertainment.

In other words, it's a perfect target for those looking to cause as much chaos as they can in New York City.

Recently, a shipment of potentially explosive drone devices manufactured by Queens Consolidated was stolen and then recovered...at least, most of it was.

Difficult at first to tell, investigators determined that two of the drones are completely unaccounted for amid the recovered shipment wreckage.

One of the drones has been spotted on networked video surveillance hovering down toward Grand Central Station.

Word goes out to mercenaries in the area: Recover the drone and receive a substantial reward!

Green Arrow, meanwhile, races toward the nearest station entrance on a motorcycle with an entirely different goal in mind: Destroy the drone before it can be detonated.
Dan Richter High above the city streets, lounging on a connecting girder of an unfinished high rise, is the one people have taken to calling 'The Urban Wolf' simply laying back and waiting for the sun to go down. However, as he relaxes, an assortment of various buzzings and rotary noises pulls him from his silent contemplations. As he looks around, he eventually sees it, a drone lowering itself down over the station. Such a strange event warrants investigation, and so the Wolf grapples from his perch to get closer and assess it properly.
Silver Sable A group of mercenaries from Silver Sable International have spread out across the various stops along the Manhattan subway network. They are discrete, as in not brandishing heavy weapons and the like, though they do stand out as being some sort of plain clothed operatives.

Near Grand Central Station an armored SUV, as well as a utility van pull up, "Set up the monitoring equipment." Sable says as she steps out of the SUV, a finger pointed towards the van, "I want to know if we pick up any signals from the drone, and have the other teams check in." She is in her silver bodyglove at the moment, though overtop of it is a white overcoat, letting her blend in a bit more.
Oliver Queen A young man who, thanks to his dress, looks very much like a homeless person sits on a flattened cardboard box and plays with a smartphone.

The smartphone communicates via Bluetooth to the drone, which makes its way briskly toward one of the more crucial nexus points for subway patrons, hovering about twelve feet above the ground.

At one of the station's entrance points, the Green Arrow's motorcycle roars as he all but flies down the stairway toward the nexus.

"Evacuate! There's a bomb threat! Get out now!" he screams, waving frantically toward the entrance steps as he drives his bike through the subway crowds.

The homeless man seems unfazed, directing his drone toward wherever its destination may be.

As people begin streaming up out of the station--albeit perhaps not as quickly as might be desired--another question arises: where's the second drone?
Dan Richter As the scream of 'bomb' goes out, the arriving Wolf takes a moment to stop and look around before refocusing on the obvious abnormality. The drone. Another brief moment passes as a plan, regardless of how suicidally stupid it may be, formulates, and he aims his grapple gun for an overhang the drone is descending past a quick zip up and backflip off, and he's one it. Problem. Now what? A question clear on his mind even through the mask as he hunkers down atop it and starts searching for some form of access panel or the like.
Silver Sable Into the station steps Silver Sable about the same time that Green Arrow starts shouting about a bomb which causes a little curse from the Symkarian woman. "Drone located in the station, I want a traceback on where the controller of this thing is, pronto." She says. She is in the process of reaching beneath her jacket for something when suddenly the Wolf appears landing atop the drone, another explitive is uttered in her native tongue.
Oliver Queen The drone wobbles in the air, but it continues its path. It looks like it's heading straight toward one of the most popular lines--one that's bound to be packed this time of day.

Even worse, the train's less than a minute away, the drone's velocity making it likely to drive right into the center car once it stops.

The 'homeless' pilot presses a few buttons and sets the course to autopilot. Then, he slips his phone into his pocket and begins shuffling along with the crowd evacuating. However, the phone's still communicating with the drone, making it entirely possible for someone looking for such wireless traffic to pinpoint the source thereof.

Green Arrow abandons his motorcycle once the crowds make it effectively impossible for him to maneuver safely through them. Instead, he leaps off the bike and begins running and pushing through the fleeing masses to try and follow the drone. He nocks and draws an arrow, pausing for a moment, but then he curses under his breath, at exactly the same time Silver Sable does, when the Wolf suddenly lands on top of the drone.

"Shut it down or get out of the way!" he calls to the surfing vigilante, returning to his pursuit. "We've got to wreck it!"
Dan Richter After a few seconds of searching for a panel, the Wolf finds...something. At least the grooves imply importance. With no time or technical training however, only one course of action is really appropriate. Bang on it hard! Really really REALLY hard! It takes five big punches to knock the panel off, and then the sixth plows right into the circuitry and hardware, destabilizing the drone and causing it to start to fall, crashing short of it's course. As it starts veering off, the Wolf pulls his badly bruised and scorched hand back and fires his grapple gun into the same overhang he'd used to get onto the drone in the first place, zipping away just as it crashes and leaving it for Green Arrow and Silver Sable to properly deal with.
Silver Sable "Pack Leader, this is Hunter 1, we've acquired a signal begining backtra... check that, signal has dissappeared." comes over the radio from the SSI Van to Silver Sable's earpiece, about the same time that Dan Richter starts pounding away at the innards of the drone. "Affirmative." Silver Sable says over the commn, "Someone has taken the drone out of play, stand by."

The Silver haired woman approaches the drone with a purpose, shrugging her jacket off and saying in an authoritative voice, "Step back from the drone, it's highly volatile!" She shouts, intent, it would seem, on approaching the crashed drone.
Oliver Queen The drone skids along the ground, sparks flying as its underchassis scrapes the subway floor. It eventually rotates about roughly 270 degrees as it slides, its motors slowing from a whine to silence.

It's just about this time that the subway car finishes pulling up to its stop, and the packed passengers begin to pour out, entirely unaware of what's transpired so far. Some glance toward the drone and the costumed individuals nearby with quizzical or concerned looks, but they're mostly unfazed. New Yorkers!

As Silver Sable approaches the drone, the Green Arrow draws back his bow. "Stop!" he shouts. "You were on the train--you were after this all along to use the battery yourself, weren't you?"

The archer, not waiting for a reply, fires an arrow in a trajectory that /should/ send it just past the mercenary and hit one of the drone's motors, covering it with a dense but expanding foam. It should, anyway...
Dan Richter Back up in the relative safety of the overhang, the Wolf peeks back down as the unknowingly familiar Silver Sable approaches the bomb drone while being rebuked by the knowingly familiar Green Arrow. Having done all he's qualified to do for the moment, the apparent hero hunkers down to rub at his bruised hand, having very nearly broken it, despite the padding and armoring.
Silver Sable The Green Arrow isn't the only one with uncanny accuracy with projectile weapons, and as the Arrow is shot, Silver Sable quickly withdraws one of her custom Chai throwing blades and flings it to intercept the oncomming arrow, "You damn vigilantes, This drone is the property of Queen Consolidated and I am under contract to retrieve it, as intact as possible." She states, "I advise you to stop your assault."

Near the entrances, more of Silver's mercenaries are working their way into the station, though the panic caused by the bomb scare, and the 'heroics' on display are impeding their ability to get into the central part of the station where the drone is located.
Oliver Queen The Green Arrow begins to reach for another arrow, but hesitates at Silver Sable's words. "Queens Conso--?" he begins. "But that can't be..."

Quickly composing himself, the archer shakes his head and points a finger toward the drone. "That thing is primed to /blow/! If it's not disabled and destroyed now, who knows what kind of damage it could do?"

Indeed, even now the battery within the drone begins to overheat slowly, thanks to its rough landing in the subway tunnel. From the Wolf's vantage point, he may be able to see it glowing a soft blue from the hole he punched into it.

Near the entrance to the station, the drone's pilot attempts to reconnect to the vehicle, and he snarls in frustration. "Detonate, detonate, detonate," he mumbles, pressing the touchscreen over and over.
Dan Richter As the drone's fist sized wound starts glowing, the Wolf stares at it helplessly for only a moment before taking a breath and sprinting along the overhang towards the entrance, watching down over it for anyone acting strangely. To most, this would be an impossible task. But for members of the League of Assassins, this is basic training. It takes only seconds to identify the target, wrong reaction, frustration instead of fear, to good of a fun to be a simple homeless punk. The Wolf pounces down, firing his grapple gun back into the overhang and snatching the would-be bomber on the swing by. As they swing back around, a quick zip up and another fire quickly drag them back to the drone, the punk being painfully dropped on his shoulder and the Wolf landing in a crouch just ahead of him and then quickly stomping down on his face to hold him still. Despite being mere feet from the drone that's just about to burst and take the entire station with it, the Wolf's cold and slightly modulated voice doesn't waver in the slightest from it's calm menace, "Tell us how to shut it down, or the blast will be the least of your concerns..."
Silver Sable "I am aware of that." Silver Sable states at Green Arrow's warning, reaching to her utility belt to produce a tool kit, "And you're interrupting my work." She starts working at the drone's casing to access the battery and begin the delicate process of disconnecting the battery and examining the extent of the damage to see if the device can be stabilized. The actions of the Wolf above don't go unnoticed, but the task at hand seems to have drawn most of her focus.
Oliver Queen The 'homeless' man, dazed, blinks and realizes his predicament. "O-o-o-okay, man!" he stutters, hands shaking and open in front of him. "I'm just hired to fly it! As far as I know, shut down the program and the drone shuts down..." He nods toward the smartphone dropped on the ground beside him.

Green Arrow, meanwhile, narrows his eyes and sets his jaw as the white-clad mercenary dresses him down. "Fine," he finally spits out, attaching his bow to the quiver on his back.

"People!" he shouts at those who are still hanging about the area. "I need you to evacuate in a calm and orderly fashion. This device /could/ explode--please, get to the street!" The archer begins herding the small crowds away from the drone, and he turns his head back to the conductor. "Get these cars out of here!"

The drone's battery is not quite damaged, but its seating has been compromised--it'll take a few minutes' work to keep the thing from short-circuiting and overheating itself more quickly, but it's hardly an impossible task.
Dan Richter The Wolf kneels down a bit, putting even more pressure on the man's face as he does so, and picks up the smartphone, looking it over for a moment before standing up and glancing around to assess how many people Green Arrow had warded away. Judging it to be an acceptable number, he kneels back down, this time intentionally putting more pressure on the man's face, "Every word lengthens your life expectancy, so I suggest you be thorough. Who hired you?" He says in a somehow even more arctic manner than before as he starts going over the phone's interface to find the shut down command.
Silver Sable While not intimately familiar with Queen Consolidated technology, Silver Sable is not a stranger to high tech devices, and has an incredibly sharp mind, plus cutting edge tools. She begins working at the housing, "I should have the device stabilised soon. Let my men through, Friar Tuck, and keep the civilians back." She calls out over her shoulder towards Green Arrow. "Who's your friend with the grappling hook, Little John?"
Oliver Queen "Yeah, yeah," Green Arrow replies, corralling pedestrians away from the drone while Sable's agents arrive.

"Seems unwise for a company to manufacture--let alone /make/--such highly explosive products," the archer grumbles. "I'll have to visit Queens Consolidated to see who's making these decisions."

He glances over his shoulder at Silver Sable. "By the way, we're not together. But he probably wouldn't want you calling him my sidekick." He thinks to himself for a moment, and then shouts back toward the entrance. "Hey! Wolf! This one called you my sidekick!"

Beneath the Urban Wolf, the drone pilot continues to stutter. "I--i--it was an email! And a--a--a--a cash dr--dr--drop," the man spits out between gasps for air. "Promise! I don't--don't know any--any--anything. Program was r--remote--ote--otely--otely installed, too."
Dan Richter The Wolf ignores the bantering pair as he finds the program shut down function and presses it, stowing the phone away in a pouch for later before looking down at dead drop bomber, "Nothing else?....Well then..." He says as he slowly rises, stepping off the man's face. But just as the man starts to move, he stomps down hard on his ribs, forcing him back down, "I guess we dont need you for anymore..." He says as he pulls the large pistol from his side and points it right at the man's head.
Silver Sable It is hard to say wether Silver Sable would care, or try to stop Danny as he moves to execute the homeless man, but she is busy working on the battery, attaching a couple leads to the battery itself, and affixing a device to it.

"It's not my job to judge their business practices." Silver Sable says to Green Arrow, watching a readout on the device she's affixed to the battery system for a few moments, meanwhile, the mercenaries of the Wild Pack start to emerge through the crowds, having produced high tech Symkarian submachineguns from beneath ther jackets, and begin to position themselves to help cordon off the area.
Oliver Queen "How noble of you," Green Arrow replies to Silver Sable before looking back toward the entrance. He spies Urban Wolf threatening the homeless man, and with a heavy sigh the vigilante from Starling grabs his bow and quickly looses an arrow with a small, flat tip toward the Wolf's hand.

"No killing!" he shouts in a harsh tone. "Don't lower yourself to his level." Then, the archer tenses, pivoting on his heel to stare at the gun-wielding mercenaries. "That goes for you all, too," he adds. "Don't bring a gun to a bow fight."
Dan Richter At the twang of the bow, the Wolf tenses and suddenly drops, smashing his knee across the man's face and knocking him out cold from the sudden impact. The change of bodily location causes the shot to narrowly miss the Wolf's mask as it whizzes past. As the Wolf rises back up, a hand deftly shoots into and retracts from one of the pouches on his belt, a small ball being dropped and causing a thick smoke to billow up around him, hiding him completely for a good ten seconds. By the time it clears, the Wolf is gone. But the man remains, as unconscious as before, and likely rather smelly considering what he just went through.
Silver Sable "I've stabilised it, for now." Silver Sable states as she moves to stand up from beside the crashed drone, "Anders, Marton get the device secured for transport and moved to the van." She says, gesturing two of her men forward before turning about fully, her gaze shifting towards the puff of smoke that marks Dan's departure before turning her attention back to Green Arrow, "There is nothing noble about it, it is a job, and one I was paid for." She eyes the green Archer's getup, and kit before shaking her head, "Nobody will get killed by my Wild Pack tonight unless someone brings violence to us, but it is not the tool you should be focused on, but the person who uses it, gun, bow, or otherwise."
Oliver Queen "I've been doing this long enough to know that the person /is/ the weapon. It's a reflection of their mentality," Green Arrow says, relaxing his stance just slightly. "Submachine guns, for example? No /real/ discipline. Spray-and-pray."

He nods to the drone. "Looks like you have, at least, taken care of the danger here. I've got to be content with that. But I remember there being two drones taken...so perhaps we'll see each other again in similar circumstances."

With that, the archer turns to run off toward the motorcycle he'd left behind, and he quickly starts it up to ride off back toward the entrance and up the stairs.
