Adrien Agreste ICU Room #13. Just after one in the afternoon.

************************Countdown: -00:00:10 ************************

The door openned, and the large man, Gorille who was standing directly in front of it, arms folded across his chest, started and looked behind. His arms unfolded and he turned, expression growing softer and as if he's is ready to listen to someone speak when a hand reaching out to touch his chest.

Beeeep. The sound of a heartmonitor.

Gorille, body guard for Adrien Agreste, blinks once, then his eyes roll up and he crumples to the ground.

************************Countdown: -00:00:13 ************************

Adrien... no, the akuma Flatline, steps over the large man's prone body, and turns toward the elevator, walking down the corridor with slow even steps. The door behind him remains opens and there is the soft faint beeping of a heart monitor and the gentle hiss of a resperator. A nurse looks over at 'Adrien' then down to Gorille and with a soft shout, she rushes over.
Lois Lane Lois Lane, reporter for the Daily Planet, finds herself stepping out a cab in front a specific hospital. As she passes money to the cabbie, she'll say, "Keep the change." Then she's slamming the door shut with just a touch more force than needed. "Do I look like the media department?" She mutters, to herself as her gaze turns towards the face of the hospital. "No, Perry, I really don't.

And while Lois typically doesn't mind most assignments, interviewing a model about his potential engagement just crosses a line for her.

"And Clark never around when needed." She mutters to herself, as the dark-haired reporter makes her way to the lobby of the hospital. And truth be told, she just wanted Clark around to pass this assignment off too, Smallville would totally have done this fluff piece justice. As it is, the reporter just stews silently as she walks.
Vorpal What fresh Herrgardsost was this?

Tommy and April hadn't really found good quality cheese to satisfy Adrien's unexpected craving for it, so the redhead had promised he'd bring some extra the very next day.

And that's what is under Tommy Hunter's arm: A little container stuffed full of the stinkiest, smelliest, highest qualitty Camembert you could buy. For a student's budget, at least.

He stands outside the elevator, waiting for it to *ding* open. He reaches for his phone and sends a quick text to April, asking her if she wants to meet for dinner, because he wanted to eat something that was not cookies. Or cheese.
Adrien Agreste In the elevator Flatline goes, riding silently until it dings, right in Tommy's face. Head bowed, it may just look like Adrien is coming out for fresh air, except that the silvery-white case of his phone is now black. The engraved white outline of a butterfly, the Agreste symbol, glows with the same faint but slightly sinister gleam as the logos on his clothing.

Without a word, without looking up, 'Adrien' moves to step out of the elevator.
Dan Richter Three broken ribs, a torn achilles tendon, a broken ankle, a dislocated shoulder, a concussion, and two breaks in the nose. Antonio Gespucci, a mid level drug runner between Gotham and Bludhaven has been staying in, for all his myriad injuries, relative comfort at Sunnydale's Mercy Hospital. That is, until the man who put him there arrived. A miltary clad figure with a wolf like mask came in the window as Antonio slept, locking the door and pulling the blinds before taking the panic button. Antonio awoke to a familiar gun to his face and a familiar cold voice telling him once again, "Let's talk." Half an hour, and a fair amount of sedatives, later and Antonio is back asleep just in time for the nurse to scream. The Wolf unlocks the door and peers through the blinds just in time to catch 'Adrien' passing by. A ruined vent cover later, and he's moving through the vents to follow the elevator, and more importanly, the one riding it.
Lois Lane Idly as Lois Lane walks towards the elevators she'll check her smart phone for any messages, or texts. Nothing so far, and when she hears the *ding* of the elevator, she'll call out, "Hold that elevator!"

Then she's double-timing it towards the elevator and Tommy, with his cheese.

Her phone will be slide into the pocket of her blazer jacket, as she arrives just in time for the doors to open. Automatically she'll flash a polite enough smile to Tommy, as she adds, "Thanks."

Once that thanks is given, Lois will turn her gaze towards the person moving to exit the elevator and with a surprised look, Lois says, "Mr. Agreste, Lois Lane of the Daily Planet. I was hoping we could ask you a few questions about your recent engagement." And while she's not necessarily a fan of this story, her voice is completely serious and quite professional as she steps towards the young man.
Vorpal There is something weird about Adrien. But under the current circumstances, the first thing that comes to mind is that something has happened to Marinette. Bad news. Something like that. The teen is about to say something to Adrien when who else but Lois Lane shows up.

Lois Lane. Pulitzer Lois Lane. Daily Planet Lois Lane. Coming from a media and journalism family, Tommy's first impulse is to fall on his knees and utter 'Teach me, master!'- for which his cousin April would probably smack him. But he manages to hide both is discombobulation and other synonyms that upon first hearing indicate a type of plague, but which really have to do with surprise and disarray.

"Miss Lane," he says, not quite managing to hide the admiration in his voice, "I'm sorry, but I don't think Adrien is up for an interview, he's dealing with a lot-"

And she might recognize the redhead as the other person who circulated in the news site, the other one who came in with Adrien to the hospital.

He reaches out to touch Adrien's shoulder and steer him away from Lois without trying to be rude to Lois.

It's way harder than it sounds...
Adrien Agreste His 'name' spoken, 'Adrien' looks up.... with dead white eyes. Shoulder reached for, 'Adrien' smacks it away with his left hand, the hand holding his phone.

Quick of eye? Timer app is open:
************************Countdown: -00:01:24 ************************

With his right hand, void of jewelry, 'Adrien' reaches out to grab Lois by the chest. His lips part, inhaling on a thin, high pitched, wail that sounds exactly like a heart monitor when it's flatlined.
Dan Richter As Lois reaches the elevator and Tommy tries to ward around the situation, the Wolf reaches the elevator shaft through the vents and drops down onto the top of the elevator in question. Just in time to hear the wailing flatline.
Lois Lane When Tommy moves to take Adrien away, Lois can't help but quirk an eyebrow at the young man. "Really -" She begins, the dark-haired reporter stepping forward, even as her gaze flicks from Tommy and back to Adrien, "- I'd like Mr. Agreste to answer." She continues with, though her words pause when Adrien moves to slap his 'friend's' hand away.

It's only when the young man looks up at her with those white eyes that Lois will say, "What's going -", on. Yes, that's what she was going to say, but that sentence is never completed as Adrien grabs her.

With that flat-line tone Lois' form convulses for a quick second, before her eyes roll upward and into the back of her head. Not even a second later her body goes completely limp as consciousness flees the woman's body.
Vorpal Akuma Matata, what a horrible phrase-

"Adrien, no!"

It flashes into Tommy's mind in a second. Akumatized. WHY was Adrien akumatized?

Marinette. Marinette must be dead.

Marinette. Ladybug. Ladybug is the only one who can capture and purify the Akuma.

And Adrien had just killed Lois Lane. Oh my god.

He had to act quickly. He had to be the smart one now that Marinette wasn't here. Think. THINK.

He runs away from Flatline, dropping his illusion annd becoming fully Vorpal, not realizing that he's just jeopardized his secret identity to anyone paying attention. His mind is elsewhere right now.

He slams his hand down on the waiting room furniture and shouts, "Attack!"

A pulse of chaos magic surges through the furniture. All of it is cheap, but it looks like a vague attempt to mimic the French futuristic style that was popular in the eighties... so it is not surprising that the furniture, as it begins to fly towards Flatline, starts singing:

~Allons, enfants de la patrie! Le jour de gloire est arrive! Contre nous-~

He doesn't stop to see the effects, or how Flatline deals with it. He just needs a distraction, because his next step is riskier... sensing magic.

Tikki. Tikki must be somewhere here. She is the only one who can help them now.

He closes his eyes, extends his senses, and opens a Rabbit Hole taking a leap of faith. "Take me where Tikki is..." he implores, before leaping through the hole in reality.
Marinette DuPain And where does Vorpal's magic take him. To a small ICU room where Marinette lays ptoned in the bed, hands resting on her chest and the glint of Adrien's silver rings drawing attention to her left hand. Despite being hooked up to IVs, a heart monitor and a respirator, she looks for all the world like she's sleeping.

Appearing next the purse, it's opened. A little red bug spirit flits out quickly with a little black cat spirit right on her heels. "Adrien!?" Tikki's eyes dart around and she seems to deflate. Until she spots Vorpal. "Oh! Vorpal! You have to help him... Her.. Helping her helps him. He's been akumatized amd needs her to vleanse it but she died and then was brought back and now won't wake up amd he said you're supposed to protect her but that won't work. It has to be him. He's the other halg. But he's scared and hurt and angry and you have to help!"

Did you get all that?
Adrien Agreste Flatline isn't aware of the Wolf about to drop into the elevator behind him. Not as the cat runs from him. It draws his gaze, and his attention. Flatline's lips open again, forming the word 'stop', but all that sounds from his throat as a single 'beeee-'. There is no 'end' to the sound even when it cuts off as his lips close. He steps over Lois' prone form, starting toward Vorpal when the chairs all bum rush him and the lobby starts clearing out stupid face. Distracted from giving chase through a rabbit hole by chair to face, Flatline is clearly a competent enough hand to hand combatant to get the chairs from doing too much damage to himself while using his right hand to grab and throw them at people to try to keep them down an in the area.
Dan Richter As all hell is breaking loose on the floor the elevator is stopped on, the Wolf reaches down and wrenches at the elevator access hatch...right as the elevator starts moving. Seems someone hit a button and the lack of additional input has caused it to start moving, the doors closing and the compartment rising. The Wolf lets out an annoyed growl and hops down into the elevator anyway, both to check where it's going, and to make sure he doesn't get crushed if it's going all the way up. Cue the ironic failure trumpets!
Vorpal "Tikki!" Vorpal sounds relieved. Realistically, that hole could have taken him anywhere- he experimented once, trying to open a hole without having a clear picture of anywhere, and he ended up in Rancho Cucamonga of all places. For once, Chaos had decided to spare him. "Tikki slow do- what? No!" He shakes his head, "No, her other half is Chat Noir, we've got to call him! Maybe Adrien's phone has his number..."

Oh crap. "His phone. He had it with him. And it was counting down to something. Oh damnit... I have no idea how to get Chat!" He sits down dispondently on the side of the bed, hiding his face in his hands. He feels like a headache is coming on.

"He just killed Lois Lane in the lobby, too. So much for my potential internship..." he actually gives a humorless chuckle at that. "I can't do this. Mari is the only one who can purify an akuma, and it's not like I can just grab her earrings and Bug it up- I can't do anything right! Me getting akumatized is the reason she's here in the first place!"

The cat stands up, rubbing the bridge of his nose and growling quietly. "I'm a giant screw up in a leotard, Tikki. We /need/ Chat." He turns to her, "... can you sense where Plagg is? If you tell me, I'll go to him, I can go anywhere!"
Marinette DuPain "No. Not dead. Coma. Like Marinette."

And then Tikki flits behind Plagg amd pushes him forward. "This is Plagg, Vorpal. Adrien is... You can put this together. I know you can. Look at her hand."

The little spirit godling huffs. "She needs woken up. Or he needs slowed down. Take your pick!"
Adrien Agreste "Dammit, kid!" Plagg is grumbling, green eyes flitting from the door to Vorpal. No face, but Tikki knows the cat.. wow. A real cat. They are a thing, apparently. Fun times. But not right now. Right now, Plagg is nodding along to Tikki's words as he's shoved forward.

"Umm.. excuse me! I'm right here! I smell cheese. Did you bring me cheese? No? You're as bad as Adrien. And of course he has his phone. He hasn't put it down for hours," Plagg is saying, floating at Tikki's side. News that Adrien killed someone has the cat kwami frowning, whiskers a droop. Untill Vorpal starts pulling an Adrien and Plagg's just about had it up to his tiny ears. He floats to marinette's purse, grabs something random from inside, and FLINGS it at Vorpal's head.

"Stop being a sad cat and get over yourself! Thinking like that is exactly what got us in this mess! We're just lucky Adrien had enough brains to think to put his ring on an active Miraculous Holder or I'd be snoozing right now and just about anyone strong enough could have tried to wake me up. Now, get your tail out from between your legs and DO something!" Pause. "And then bring me cheese. I'm starving."

Down in the lobby...

With no one to stop him, Adrien makes fairly quick work of the furniture, and has now a half dozen prone victims to touch on the chest with his right hand. Each one convulses as Ms. Land did, and each one slip into a coma.
Vorpal Vorpal stares as Plagg reveals himself.

Adrien Agreste was Chat Noir.

Even getting something flung at his head doesn't snap him out of it for a few seconds. And then, after Plagg is done with his pep talk, he exhales.

"You are frickin' telling me I fell for the same guy TWICE without knowing it's him?"

Because, really, in a bleak moment like this you had to cling to whatever shred of humor there was in the situation.

He gives the ring a very fast look, memorizing its features. And then he gets a resolute glare. "Slow down first. Then... we'll get Mari back."

He reaches over and grabs Marinette's hand and closes it firmly around the Miraculous. Just in case a nosy nurse might try to remove it and then...

"Thank you, Tikki..." he says and opens a Rabbit Hole to the lobby.

"And Plagg?"

He steps through.

"You're a total butt."

And then there was a Cheshire cat in the lobby. Damnit, it looks like the furniture didn't do much! He needs to get him away before more people get hurt. "HEY! Doctor Zap-vago!" hey, it's not easy ad-livving lines in a pinch, okay? "Are you looking for THIS?"

He raises his hand. A glittering silver ring appears in his hand. And then he slides it down his middle finger... which he holds up to Adrien. "You want it? Come and get me!" and he starts running towards the exit!
Adrien Agreste Flatline straightens up the last victim. The phone still in his hand. Called to, the akuma Adrien turns to stare at teh feline and for a moment there is no reaction. And then all of the butterflies flare to life, mirroring the mask like one over his eyes. Flatline cringes, clearly in pain, before his lips part and that -eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- is heard again. Vorpal turns to run and Flatline starts after him.
Vorpal Alright, he had his attention. Now to make sure he wouldn't LOSE it, Vorpa shouts something-

It's hard to hear, because his voice is distorted by the echo. There is a flash of green light, and then-

It's Chat Noir.

Well, actually, it's... Vorpal, in the Chat Noir costume and mask. No fake ears, though, because he already has those. "Geez, how the hell does he even BREATHE in this?" he says, tugging at the costume. It looks good on him. Maybe... even better than Adrien? He gives a huge grin. "Sorry, zappy. You want it? You'll have to get it off my cold, dead paws! And Vorpal Noir hasn't even lost *one* life yet!"

Not technically true.

A Rabbit Hole opens... one of those blank ones without destination, which means it is Location Russian Roulette. "Catch meow if you can!" he says, and jumps through it.

Because he has to have the terrible puns, otherwise it's not believable that he is the next Chat Noir. Even if his illusions are perfect.
Adrien Agreste The butterfly mask flares to life again, Hawkmoth screaming for the Miraculous. The power surge pushes Flatline faster than Vorpal Noir might have been expecting, and yet it's not fast enough to grab Vorpal before he's through the rabbit hole. Flatline leaps in after, while somewhere in his mind, still fighting against fully being taken control of, Adrien groans at the weak pun. So weak. Meow doesn't rhyme with Me. Mew rhymes with you, meow rhymes with now and how and cow and brow and ow... but ow is really me-ow.... though.. reallly me-ouch? Vorpal Noir has a lot of learning to do. Maybe he should go back to the Ladyblog, see if Alya got any Chat footage posted, beclaws the real Chat Noir is feline so sad about his replacement right meow, I'm not even kitten mew!
