Selene Spectacle Plaza was a failed commercial shopping center endeavor in Gotham. It had been an outdoor shopping mall that had several major anchor stores when it first launched, but the crime in the area had forced those stores out of business. What with Amazon taking over the world as well, shops like these just didn't stand much of a chance.

There are a few stores left, on the main corners of the outdoor shopping mall, but those just lucked out with location of being so accessible. The 'dead mall' is still walkable though, with security that occassionally patrols it too.

Selene had worked over the cell phone to setup a meeting here, it was an easy place to meet after the sun had set. It had set about 15 minutes ago now too, and she's come to be found near to one of the large seating areas next to what was once the outdoor food court that now only has a coffee shop on the street corner.

Selene is seated at one of the tables, her booted feet are up on the chair in front of her and her long leather coat is draped over the back of her chair. She's otherwise dressed in that leather bodysuit, matching black corset and a pair of sunglasses pushed up over her forehead. She's got her phone in her hand, reading messages upon it.
Kitty Pryde Kitty finished up her meal at Bat Burger. She isn't the biggest eater of fast food, though she's gotten into the habit while in Gotham a little more. While her boyfriend has done the opposite and seems to be finding more occasions to cook. Amazing how people meet in the middle.

Glancing the time on her phone, Kitty heads down the street, walking for the time being and making a few turns that will help her spot any tails. After seeing the way is clear she makes a turn into the mall. She passes the closed stores with a few glances. Gotham has such a different feel to it than does New York.

The young woman emerges into the food, passing back outside and going over to get herself a cup of coffee at the shop. She really doesn't need it, but felt the urge to help the place out.

Crossing over to Selene's table, Kitty slides into a seat. She's wearing jeans and a dark blue shirt, with an unbuttoned Ryne Sandberg Chicago Cubs baseball jersey overtop.

"Evening," the brunette says, tipping her head towards Selene. "Was interested to hear from you. Glad you were able to get in touch with the people you sought," she says, keeping names out of it.
Selene When Kitty arrives at Selene's table, sits down at it and speaks. Selene looks up and then takes her feet off of the chair to not be disrespectful in posture and presence toward the young woman who'd gotten the ball rolling, so to speak, on her being cleared to do her job with the Bat-family of vigilantes in the Gotham area.

Selene sits up on the edge of her own chair, she's a tall woman, lithe and fit, her leather garments making those quiet noises that leather does as it adjusts on one's moving body.

As she speaks, her expression shows one of slight amusement, actual emotions visible compared to the first time they'd met in the subway tunnels. "Well, I would say I entirely had you to thank for that." She says, her voice is best described as hauntingly attractive--at least to most's ears--husky and deep, but feminine and laced with that mixture of European accents.

"Up to that point, I'd believed we'd inevitably end up butting heads with the Batman and his people." She further says, still showing a faint smile as she stares toward Kitty with a piercing gaze of brown eyes. "Now it seems we have his blessing, as it were. So yes. Thank you."
Kitty Pryde Kitty just gives a satisfied smile and says, "You're welcome. The important thing to me is that the risk to the people of Gotham get dealt with successfully. I imagine a lot more can be accomplished working together than separately." She takes a sip of her coffee and glances about the area before looking back to Selene.

"I am curious about the nature of their condition," Kitty says. "Is it something that has ever been successfully cured?" the young woman inquires, a finger tracing the lid of her coffee cup as she has a sense of being slightly troubled. "If their souls can be saved I'd rather see that pursued if it is an option."

Kitty gives another slight frown. "I was also curious as to the recruiting tactics. Are those who are recruited aware of what is going to be done? Or is it forced? And if forced, are they controlled somehow?" Kitty inquires.
Selene "Strength in unity. Together we stand a far better chance of succeeding far sooner than if we are divided. The foundation of this whole country, or close to it, yes?" Selene comments then, still showing a faint smile that fades as she hears the rest of what Kitty asks.

Selene's dark brown eyes then lower down to the table between them and she has to shake her head just once... just a little, before her eyes dart back up to the young woman's own. "There is no cure." She says to her then, voice a bit quieter as she knows its not a great response to hear. "My people have looked for one, for them, in fact. We're lucky enough to be in a financially lucrative place which has allowed my collective of Covens to separate ourselves mostly from the outside world. We don't 'want' to harm people, innocents. Not any longer. We've grown weary of the back and forth, we want to be the Myths that people often believe we are. That is our goal. But we can't do that while these Lycans are continue to strike at our compounds with their centuries old fued fueling their hatred of us."

She draws in a light breath. She'd fed recently, off of synth blood she always keeps a supply of inside of the silver vials somewhere on her person, but its left her skin tone more natural in shade and less pale, for now.

"I can't say for certain precisely how their recruitment methods work. But from what I do know is that they've grown more desperate the further we've dwindled their numbers. I do believe most who do join them do it for the chance to have more power, more than a standard boring life could ever provide to them."
Kitty Pryde The bits of news register disappointment from Kitty, though in small amounts as if she was expecting this would probably be the result of her questions. "And the only options of confining them, I'm not sure I want them having access to test subjects," Kitty says.

She makes a soft sound in the back of her throat as if considering things she doesn't like the thought of. "How is it spread? Do those who fight against it have to be worried about taking wounds and getting infected?" she asks. Obviously her companion didn't have an issue despite being severally mauled. But then he was slowly healing before Selene's eyes.

Kitty takes another sip of her coffee, looking thoughtful. "So for you, is it just a need for blood to stay alive then? Or is the whole sunlight thing real? And... how did you end up like this? Or were you born with it?" Kitty asks curiously.
