Selene Selene keeps tabs on the world around her. Even though Selene's been fighting a secret war for centuries, she still needs information. It's a chance meeting that got her aware of Angel's job and investigators, as she's wanting to hear information directly from the horse's.....vampire's mouth, she's invited Angel into her home. Or, more accurately, a drawing room with Selene herself sat in a large armchair and looking like she's sleeping. Not so, she's pretending to sleep and watching everything.

The drawing room is one of those old, grand rooms with wood panelling, luxurious leather seating, it's the sort of room anyone could picture gentlemen smoking pipes in. Selene is using it for this particular meeting.....as she's wanting to make an impression on her guest.
Angel Angel is brooding.

While it might not be that different from the usual, right now, his brooding is justified by several reasons, one of them being the definitely boring night at the Angel's investigation agency. There's no demons to slay, no vampires to hunt, no artifacts to find, curses to dispel, spells to curse, people to free from magical cursed object possessed by vampiric demons... Nothing. No mistery, no apocalyptic event, no heartbreaking slayers or heartbroken assistants, the absolute, terrible, absence of anything to do. So Angel has all the time to just be his quiet self, think about his past, and brood.
He is dressed in an elegant outfit, as usual, consisting in a pair of leather shoes, tailored trousers, silk shirt with silver buttons and nothing more since at least he doesn't wear the coat inside his own place. Sitting behind his desk, he's just flipping through the pages of a mistery book where he already identified the assassin, occasionally glancing at the door, that doesn't open, and the phone, that doesn't ring.
It is lucky then that the boredom is interrupted by a call, and so it is that he stands, wears a black coat, hops on his plymouth and starts in the direction of Selene's house, arriving a bit of time later and stopping the car in front of her place, to knock twice on the door.
Selene The door opens as a servant invites Angel in and welcomes him to the house, inviting Angel to the drawing room. Selene hears the knocking and adjusts her long coat, eyes snapping open as she sits up and looks impressed. It's a little past one in the morning, and Selene's listening to the house as much as herself. Footsteps are heard as she's aware of where the house's occupants are. She wants information, and....she'll get it. Folding her hands in her lap, Selene smiles, a quiet, dangerous smile. She'll enjoy this really.....as she's a smart, if dangerous woman. She's just....not really a people vampire. Aside from her own people.
Angel Angel is invited in, and as the servant leads him to the room, his eyes and other senses are as alert as possible, even if his expression remains as neutral as it can be. His footsteps are barely audible, the man moving with a smooth and quiet grace more from habit than real effort, and so what appears on the door of the drawing room is an elegant man dressed in black, that just announces his already known presence with a "greetings."
It isn't his style, usually, to interact with vampires without having to kill them afterwards, but those really familiar with the vampiric world will probably know him as Angel, not only who he is now but, probably, what he has been in the past, Angelus... And Angelus has not been a nice vampire, but someone who brought quite a bit of bloodsheds in all europe, fighting his way through adversaries sometimes more powerful than himself and coming on top, including a couple of elders. It's however known that right now he is definitely more, peaceful.
Selene "Please, sit" Selene says and nods to the servant and then the door. "Ah, Angel" she says and smiles, a flash of fangs with a smile and a gracious wave. "Welcome to my home" Selene says and nods, offering a nod to Angel. "I am Selene" she says gently, her accent a mix of European accents, the accents blending together. "I invited you here to help me out" she says gently. "I was looking for information. You run Angel Investigations, yes?" she asks and smiles, again a flash of fangs. "I believe you could help me" she nods and leans back in her armchair, hands behind her head. "I have information you may want to hear" she adds, a low purr in her voice.
Angel Angel just calmly walks towards an empty chair, taking a seat and looking directly at Selene. While not unfriendly, he isn't all smiles either, his expression quite undecipherable, and if he notices the fangs or anything else, he doesn't comment about that. "that 's who I am, yes, and yes I hrun Angel investigations." he just replies, observing the woman and then nodding to her, "please, go ahead. Ask what you want to know, and well, we'll see if you have informations that might be useful to me, I suppose..."
Selene "Well" Selene says. "I have a few things you might want to hear" she offers, explaining about artifact smuggling rings as Selene nods. "They trade in valuable artifacts, and very, very dangerous artifacts too" Selene nods. "They use human mules to transport the artifacts and they come prepared for....trouble" Selene pauses and smiles wide. "So" she says, "Vampires get humans to run artifacts for them. They make sure the humans are ready for trouble" she adds and looks serious. "Why?" she asks and looks thoughtful, then worried. "Why go to all the trouble of getting human criminal gangs to get set up with things to deal with vampires?" Selene asks and falls silent, watching Angel
Angel Angel looks seriously at Selene, listening quietly, then shakes his head "first of all, they, is a bit vague. Without knowing who, they, are, it's hard to answer the why question." he mentions "second, if they use humans to smuggle artifacts, it makes sense they make sure humans are prepared to deal with troubles, so I don't see what's unusual about it" then he tilts his head "and third, artifacts, again, is avague thing, dangerous artifacts is just as vague... So well" he shrugs slightly "as for why humans would want to deal with vampires, well, because vampires are bloodthirsty creatures, cruel, soulless monsters who want to use them in every imaginable way, with powers to do that as well? It again makes quite a bit of sense, to me..."
Selene "Rogue vampires. That answers the 'dangerous rogue vampires that want power, and want to get their hands on powerful artifacts. Think of the most powerful artifacts. There's vampires out there fighting for control of them....and......if the wrong vampires get hold of them" Selene says. "That is bad for everyone, yes?" she asks softly fixing her eyes on Angel. "I won't insult your intelligence with explaining this. You" Selene says "Are in charge of an investigations firm. You have a lot of information come across your desk all the time, correct?" she asks, her voice a blend of several European accents. "Mostly because it's what you do. You....well.....investigate" she adds, falling quiet for a moment. "Why would those humans be told to put up lights and carry guns? Surely it'd get them asking questions?" she points out.
Angel Angel peers at Selene quietly again, then sighs, and shakes his head "well, I am Angel and I run Angel investigations..." he just says, without the need of making ulterior sarcastic comments. "selene, half of what you're saying is just a group of facts that even a child could guess and that doesn't make any sense." he adds calmly "vampires always want power, you're not telling me anything new. Vampires always look for powerful artifacts, and again I say to you, the most powerful artifacts is a so vague definition. And then again, you are a vampire as well, vampires are not good people so probably your concept of wrong hands is what, hands of vampires who won't benefit your cause, whatever might it be?" he glances briefly at the ceiling "and I seriously didn't understand the part about humans carrying lights and guns, what's odd about it?"
Selene Selene sighs, "Wrong hands is vampires who wil carve a path of destruction and only serve their own ends. This isn't about my own ends" she says with her voice having a slight edge to it. "This isn't about me, or what I want. This is about rogue vampires having ancient, powerful chalices, swords, shields.....I'm talking Ark of the Covenant level danger" Selene says. "Pandora's Box level danger" Selene adds and looks worried. "If the rogue vampires get their hands on those artifacts, and use them for their own ends, everyone loses" Selene says folding her arms. "Now do you understand why I'm alarmed at these smuggling rings?" she asks.
Angel Angel nods "a bit better, at least." he says "the general concept of it is alarming, even if I keep not understanding what is alarming about the organization of it. I mean, humans can't see at night, so they get lights. And if I were even a half smart child I would give at least a gun to humans who will presumably face supernatural threats" he sighs, leaning a bit backwards on his chair "anyways yes, that is potentially a worrying operation, for everyone... However, what do you want to know from me?"
Selene "Lights specifically designed to hurt vampires" Selene says, "I'm not talking flashlights" she explains, "Industrial grade lights,UV lights, vampire deterrents. Humans won't think of it on their own? yes it's worrying, so what do we as a species, do about it?" Selene asks. She may want to live in peace and disappear, but this is worrying her. If rogue vampires open Pandora's Box.....the world is, if anything, fucked.
Angel Angel sighs "well if you want my personal opinion, if humans learn how to defend from vampires, that's better for everyone." he just says, closing his eyes for half a second "anyways, about what we do, of course, we stop them. There's not much else to do, we go there and stop those vampires from getting their hands on the dangerous artifacts that will cause the end of the world. About how we'd do such a thing, well, we need intel on who is doing what, where, how, and why. Then we can strike"
Selene "We do need intel. That's what you're good at, investigating, right?" Selene asks and spreads her arms wide. "So....there's quite a lot of ways to get information and intelligence" Selene adds. She is, after all...a leader and is thinking like one, like this is part of her war, and Angel's somebody who can be useful. Which is fairly close to the truth, really.....Angel can be useful for finding things out.
Angel Angel stands up from his chair with a smooth motion, adjusting his coat "I will gather informations on what you told me..." he simply says, without offering any hint to what he is thinking or planning "and probably let you know what I find out..." he adds, looking at the woman "is there anything else?" he asks then, waiting not too far from the door...
Selene Selene smiles as a Death dealer comes in, "No, I need to rest" Selene says and nods. "I trust you can see yourself out? Don't forget though....I will send one of my people to your office to meet with you. Well, assuming your office door is open" Selene says and nods. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Angel" Selene says with a nod.
Angel "it usually is" Angel says, offering a polite nod as a form of greeting towards the vampiric woman, then he just leaves, his footsteps again barely audible on the corridors that lead him out of the house, and then on his car, to his agency. He has quite a bit to think about, a bit to do, and to prepare. And not only to deal with that smuggling ring, it seems.
