Pippi     A week ago, there had been some interesting tagging going on in Brooklyn. On building tops, access doors, and in the high points of alleyways, someone had been tagging white spider-like shapes, where it was certain anyone who frequently rooftops might see them.

A couple of gang members had confronted the tagger, after being rescued from dumpsters and treated for blunt force trauma, and had spouted off nonsense about 'hairy mutants' and 'big ass lion from Oz' before being released.

The tagging had stopped. Until earlier in the evening, someone had etched a spider, this time in white chalk on an access port, and then pointed an arrow down the street.
Gwen Stacy Well I mean, there is only one Ghost Spider right.... Peter is really into the whole red and blue motiff and Gwen is definitely into the white and pink motif. So this is probably for her.

It seems like a pretty low budget trap as well if it was a supervillains or The Foot. So it is probably good odds that it is safe to investigate without backup. Right?

In any regard Gwen swings on a web line now, soaring over the roof tops and following the chalked spider etching and arrow, trying to figure out where she is being led to. Trusting on her Gwen Tingles to make sure she isn't falling into a horrible ambush.
Pippi     No danger tingles here! The area's on top of an old school, closed down due to 'not enough electricity to power the thing' and repurposed into sort of a community building, but at the top it still had the old school playground. Metal slides, rusting jungle gyms, monkey bars, everything you could want from an early 90's playground experience locked away behind ten feet of deteriorating chainlink.

And sitting at the big, stacked-cube style jungle gym made of metal was a familiar figure, who had a slightly ripped take-out bag.

Pippi, Alopex's pal and mutant dog.
Gwen Stacy Okay this is good. Definitely good.

Not the deterioration of America's school system, that is sad.

No the fact Pippi is here and has been evidently trying to get ahold of Gwen. This is Good. No one has been answering the phone calls, not the FBI Agent at least. Also she hasn't had any luck finding the Ninja animals, just Ninja Foot to punch in the face. This has all led to her being quite worried.

Ghost Spider drops down off a web line, skidding a bit on the playground's asphalt, probably in disrepair, and looks around then to Pippi. "Hi!" pause "Is Alopex here?" head tilting as she looks to Pippi. "Is everything okay?"
Pippi     Sniff, sniiffff?

OK, maybe day old street tacos were a bad choice, the extra onions really turn quick, but Pippi almost got a sniff of Ghost Spider in time to *not* startle, which she does, flailing her arms a bit before she falls backwards, off the bar she was sitting on, but she curls her legs and ends up just danging as she regards the Spider.

Pippi's at least wearing clothing. If a ripped hoodie with no arms and a pair of shorts count. Her tail wags, and as she straightens up, she explains:

"N-nope... actually, we're not s'posed to be out alone, but... but things are bad, Miss Spider-Sciency-Type." she admits, pulling herself upright and then dropping down tot he ground. Easier to hide if you're crouched low, she thinks.

"... really bad." she follows up, and rubs the back of her neck.
Gwen Stacy "Ack sorry!" when Pippi goes flailing and almost ends up falling on her head, good save though all said as she now regards Pippi and wonders what she looks like upside down to the dog mutant.

Okay maybe this isn't so good. Now Gwen is actually more then a smidge worried. Not about the whole meeting Pippi, no danger tingles after all, but about the friends she made, Pippi included. It colors her tone "That doesn't sound good. I mean yes bad is the opposite of good I know but now I am worried."

Looking around to make sure they are actually alone before stepping closer to Pippi. "Is anyone hurt. Is the foot doing something even worse than springing all the criminals from jail? Do you need help?"
Pippi     Pippi seems hesitant, she looks up at the surrounding buildings, and then takes a deep breath. "The Foot got Agent Cody an' the lab-stuff, the mute-a-jen, and they changed him and Pex and Leo think they messed with his mind when they turned him into a big lion and then he attacked Pex and tried to kill her thinking *we* did it but I know I wasn't there when he changed and Id on't think Alopex would have been there either unless she's scretly still with the Foot but I don't think she is because he came and wrecked our house and then we had to move and it's weird because they have all this stuff an' I just have Cody's backpack and Gutters and then he attacked again and he hurt Leo but Leo kinda got through to him I think and then he came back and was hurt and Donnie introduced me to Slurpees which are *not* their own foodgroup, red *or* blue but--" she pauses, and then raises her hand "Right, cody's now a giant lion and I punched him into a whole different block in the Bronx but I think we're getting through to him but the most important thing was since you said you were a sciencey type person do you think you can fix him where he's not a giant black lion made of pain because I think that'd be really, really nice an'-an'"

Pippi's pitch had risen in the last few sentences, and her ears draw back as she takes a deep breath and then exhales--

"an' please don't be mad about the spraypaint because Alopex was really, really disappointed in me but there was something I needed to ask you... but I forgot."
Pippi     At that, Pippi rubs the back of her head and looks genuinely ashamed.

"I'm not smart. I don't get all the sciency or ninja-y stuff they talk about, but... I want to help Cody, 'cause the change? It hurts."
Gwen Stacy The eyes on the mask get a little bigger, wider, white as she listens to the whole explanation from Pippi. Honestly she is trying to follow and parse the adorable dog mutant's explanation and not lose any of the details which takes a lot of attention and focus.

There are several points where Gwen thinks about breaking in and asking a question and then thinks better of it, letting her keep going and not interrupting at all there. So many questions though.

Finally when she takes a deep breath and seems done for the moment Gwen nods "I'm not mad, the whole spray paint and then chalk was actually a pretty clever way to get ahold of me when you couldn't use one of the burner phones to call me." she considers "Okay so Agent Cody is now a big black lion working for The Foot." she pauses "I knew I should have got an untainted sample of that stuff right then and there but it seems so damn dangerous." another pause for a thought. "As for Cody.. I am definitely willing to help but I probably need samples of blood from some of you and anyone who started human. I'm not sure if I can reverse it without a sample of the mutagen though. Also not sure even with samples I can reverse the whole change ... maybe I can just help with him getting back to his old self." this is definitely not good news. The Lion Agent knows she is connected with it, though he hasn't taken a swipe at her yet at least.

"Do you remember why Alopex was disappointed and what you wanted to ask me, besides helping Cody?" then a muttered "Man Shredder is really making me mad."
Pippi     "... we weren't supposed to go out alone anymore. Leo an' Alopex decided it'd be a bad idea. Last week I ran into someone who... who said I was 'tagging their turf' but then Alopex showed up 'cause they had guns" and Pippi makes a displeased sort of face at that fact, and then rubs the back of her neck again. "An' then Nemean... that's Cody, but that's the designation The Shredder gave him -- showed up and shoved them all in a dumpster after I caught his scent and 'Pex threw the smokeballs." she states. And she takes another deep breath, and then hangs her head.

"I... I don't think any of us started as human. I was a dog, Alopex was a fox, the turtles were turtles..." she pauses.

"... that part was obvious, sorry..."
Gwen Stacy "Well that is okay.. Cody was a human and I I heard some of the Shredder's other people were human. We will just need to take down one of them for a sample of their blood so I can do some science on it all." before this was all theoritically and fascinating to Gwen. Now it is much more complicated because her friends are getting hurt.

"Do you know how they brainwashed Cody or turned him against everyone... maybe there is an angle there to help get through to him. I mean other than head injuries .. which well you said punching was effective I worry about his health."

"Maybe you can get Alopex and Leonardo to talk to me and we can work on this problem together... I promise I had nothing to do with Cody and the Foot .. I just want to stop the bad guys."
Pippi     "Nnnnnoooo...." Pippi's lips purse, and her ears go back, "I said I punched him into the next /block/. It wasn't effective. I didn't know he was Cody." she exhales. She finally just sits down in a splut, her legs forming a W as she digs through the bag a moment.

"Alopex said they did something to his memories. They hurt if he remembers the truth. They don't hurt if he remembers what he was told by the Foot." she thinks. The left ear, with its triangle-and-4-4-7 tatto flicks in irritation.

"I showed him his backpack. He remembered that, and he hurt. I... I don't get a lot of it. I'm still working on it." she pulls out another day-old taco. It's falling apart, and there's a human-sized bite taken out of it. She flicks off the onions into the bag.

"Leo or Alopex /would/ know more. Maybe Donnie? Or Splinter would know the most. I tracked some Foot who were supposed to follow Alopex b ut they didn't seem to know anything about it, either." Her tail curls, and she gives a deep sigh. "I'm gonna be in trouble when Iget back."
Gwen Stacy "I don't want you in trouble Pippi and I do think I can help. I'm a biochemist and geneticist.. I have a lab and equipment for working on mutagenic properties. Which is how I ended up bitten by a mutagenic spider but still... I can help." she is at least painfully honest that she hasn't always been successful with her science work. Still she is a superhero now so there has to be something to that right.

"Maybe they put a neural chip or inhibitor in his head that shocks him when he thinks wrong, that would be very effective.. or maybe it is all memory based. Guh.. the foot are such bad guys in an almost cartoony sense.. if they weren't so damn effective at being bad guys that is."

She bounces to the next thought. "I'd like to talk to all of them about this mess and see how I can help. If I give you a note and a burner cellphone they could use to call me .. do you think that would get you in the same trouble or more trouble than you are already going to be in Pippi?"
Pippi     Pippi looks blankly at Ghost Spider, her amber eyes blink twice before she admits: "I... I don't know." she sighs, and with the taco in one hand she supports her jaw on the other, setting her elbows on her knees.

"If you give me a note I can deliver it. They probably know I'm gone again. Alopex is really smart, an' so's Leo, and Donnie sounds like you do so he's /probably/ smarter than both of them." she gives a wry little smile, an attempt at a joke.

"But... you gotta be careful. Alopex and Leo both think they're 'sponsible for Cody gettin' hurt. If something happened an' you got hurt 'cause I came and got you? I don't think I could handle it as good as they can."
Gwen Stacy "I'm a big grownup spider superhero who is responsible for her own actions Pippi." she considers "Though I really appreciate you worrying about me. I am already out here every day fighting bad guys with Spider-Man and others... stopping ridiculous villains named The Shocker and The Ringer and The Rhino... it is .. an odd life. Still I have these powers now and a responsibility to use them to help other people and make the world a better place. Turning my back on people who need help and not stepping up to fight evil would make me just as bad as the bad guys in a way I tink."

"So please don't worry too much about me... you aren't responsible for me and I want to help do what is right. So I'll write them a note you can take back offering my help and giving them the number for my burner phone. I am pretty sure throwing some heavy duty sciencing can't hurt with this problem.. and worst case well I can punch some bad ninjas and help that way if science proves ineffective?"

Gwen is trying to give Pippi a pep talk for sure at this point.
Pippi     The white-and-red dog looks up at Gwen, and she looks down, sliding the taco back into the bag. She wriggles her fingers a moment against her knees, and seems to weigh options before she brings her hands up, balled into loose fists and presses them against her temple.

"I can't do a lot of hero-ing. I'm clumsy, an' I mess it up all the time, but I can at least bring a note down. An' Alopex an' Leo would probably be happy for the help, might eeeeven overlook the fact that I snuck out an' didn't ask permission to talk to anyone an' told someone about everyone includin' the guys and..."

Pippi's face slowly turns from frustration to fear, and she purses her lips a moment.

"... you're not gonna plant a bug on me, are you?"
Gwen Stacy "I already met the turtles at the docks remember, you didn't reveal anything about anybody that I didn't already know Pippi. It is totally okay." she tries to reassure her canine friend there sounding steady and calming as she can. She doesn't mention that bit about Splinter which was a new name because no need to freak her friend out.

"Also I totally bet with training and practice you would make a great hero, you are ridiculously strong Pippi." see encouraging spider is encouraging.

"Also no I am an arachnid themed hero not a bug themed one." okay Gwen that was a very bad joke. "Seriously though no bugging you I promise. It is just a piece of paper." she settles to sit and pulls out a small notepad, very small and thin but she finds it useful to sometimes take notes without her cellphone light. She fidgets with a pen and then writes a short note. ~Alopex and Leonardo. I'm worried about you all and Agent Cody. I heard what happened. I think I might be able to help with science and in general. Call me. ###-###-####~

Gwen folds it up and offers it to Pippi. "Just paper." god does she just want to ruffle some dog ears and hug the puppers. She hesitates and peels her mask up letting Pippi see her real eyes, yay oxytocin, and face. Blond with a pink dip dye. She isn't worried about Pippi recognizing her, she isn't famous despite her band and dabbling in some modeling. She just wants a show of trust.
Pippi     Pippi only had her first hug in the last few weeks. She hadn't known of their existence since her own change.

Pippi accepts the paper, giving it a sniff (man, those onions were rank!) and she gives a nod, slipping it into her pocket. She still seems hesitant, her ears constantly in motion as she listens to the pep talk, and her shoulders rise up as she gives a little bit of a smile.

Maybe she didn't catch the 'living with the Turtles' thing. There was an awful lot of info that tumbled out of her mouth. Pippi noticably didn't read the note, but after she makes sure the paper is secure, she catches the movement and -- oh hey. Ghost Spider's real face.

Her ears draw up. Her amber eyes go wide, and she feels her tail give just a little bhit of a wag.

"Your hair!" the dog exclaims, and she reaches up with a hand before physically struggling a moment and drawing it back. "You've got colors in it!"
Gwen Stacy Gwen will regret this if she gets fleas but well she tilts her head towards the outstretched hand letting Pippi touch her hair even if she pulled back initially. If she still wants to that is. There is a laugh, good natured. "Yeah.. I'm blond but I dyed the tips pink. I think it looks pretty good on me like this. Nothing crazy like bright blue but .. I like pink." sort of rambly.

Also yes Gwen did catch the bit about Alopex and Pippi living with the turtles as well, but much like the Splinter name she isn't about to freak her friend out at all by confirming she spilled info.
Pippi     All the info ever. Bad dog.

And /fleas/? Like Alopex would have tolerated it!

Pippi hesitantly reaches out, and Gwen might catch the dog whispering to herself 'easy, gentle' -- and then the slightly calloused pads on her hands, the dull claws. combing very, very gently through Gwen's hair.

"This is pink? Pink's a good color. On you, I mean. I don't think it'd look good on me. 'Sides. My head-fur-stuff kinda is getting all curly when it gets too long." she babbles a little.

"Did you used to have blue hair?"
Gwen Stacy r
Ah yes, head scritches are wonderful, you don't even have to be a dog mutant to appreciate them. She closes her eyes a moment and slowly leans back.

"I've tried blue tips before and red.. also green once.. but I like pink the best so far I think. Anyone can dye their hair really, it is all about personal expression and feeling and looking good. You can also not dye it and cut it the way you want really. Your body is your choice." there is a smile. "Nothing wrong with curly."

She does slip up to her feet nimbly though and notes. "I should probably get swinging though. I need to finish this patrol and then get sleep before work tomorrow." and yes Gwen is burning her candle at both ends and the middle really. Superhero. Scientist. Band member. Model. It is surprising she even sleeps at all really or hasn't been fired. Miracles.

"If you need me do the chalk trick the same way again. I'll be sure to patrol near here most nights just to check if you need me?"
Pippi     Pippi lifts her hand from Gwen's hair (so pretty! And soft!), and she spluts down again, glancing up to the mutant before sh e rubs the back of her own head.

"Oh! Right, an' Alopex is probably gonna start looking to start on patrols soon. I should get back home." she hops to her feet, and takes a breath out.

Someday, she'll let someone headscritch the pupper ears, but it was not this day.

"I'm not sure if I can... they took the spraycans from me, chalk might be next." she sheepilishly replies, but she turns, hopping off the jungle gym to the fenceline, and she lifts a bit of the chain link, slipping out a hole in the fence.

"But be careful out there, Ghost Spider!"
