Owner Pose
Miranda Madsen     Miranda Madsen had said she would return and return she has. Calling ahead if only to give a little notice, the Canadian arrives at the Consulate in a black sedan and is let out with little fuss. Today, she's wearing a pant suit in charcoal which suggests she'd just come from a board of visitors meeting or similar. Not that she reports to shareholders but she does own a few companies. She has a larger shoulder bag slung over her right which she adjusts as she's led to the lounge. "Thank you." She offers kindly to the woman who led her there. That's when she kicks off the heels and does a quick change into jeans and a v-neck knit. The fancy attire is unceremoniously stuffed into the bag with the heels. Then there's a bit of a frown at the bag and she's fishing in it again.
Diana Prince Since it hadn't been a surprise visit, it didn't take Diana very long to finish her business she was dealing with and come to the lounge when she was told that Miranda had arrived and since it was a fairly large room filled with sofas and chairs and several tall windows that looked out onto a garden, Diana opened the double doors from the corridor beyond and stepped inside to see Miranda rooting around inside of a bag, which made her smile a little.

"Misplace something?" Diana would ask then as she walked further into the room. She was wearing white slacks and a silver buckled belt with a sleeved red shirt tucked into the pants. Her black hair was pulled back into a braided pony tail that went down to the small of her back.
Miranda Madsen     "Shoes." Miranda notes with a little frustration. "You would think that if I bothered to bring a set of clothes that I wouldn't forget shoes." She sighs and relents in the hunt, removing her interest and her nose from the bag. "Ah well. It's not as if I've never gone barefoot before." She sets the bag into a with a frumpfh that suggests it's a full bag then she's straightening to stand.

"I thought I'd avoid formality this time around. If you don't mind." Miranda looks Diana over slightly then laughs. "I like the buckle." Raising her arms overhead, she stretches onto her toes and arches her back like a dancer or someone infinitely aware of her own balance then drops back onto her soles. "So. I told you I'd return. I have a number of interested parties. People willing to help. But.. I was hoping mostly to learn more about Themyscira.. if that's alright with you?"
Diana Prince Diana's blue eyes went down to Miranda's feet as she lifted up onto her toes like that. She smiled at the bare feet and then regarded the buckle complimented. "Oh... yes... it was a gift from a man in Texas... It is not precisely my kind of fashion, but he was here today so I made sure to wear it to show him how much I love and treasure it." She looked back up to Miranda and gave her a knowing grin.

Diana would then move toward one of the sofa chairs and she'd motion to the one beside it. "We have lots of shoes here, if you'd like a pair I can send for some. You would think that people would donate clothing to the poor or those in need, but... we get boxes of designer and brand goods here, all the time. Attempting to draw me in for endorsements... Fat chance, that, though." Diana would sit down on the edge of the chair then and smile to the other.

"What would you like to know?"
Miranda Madsen     "No." Miranda's reply is a bit more vehement than she meant. "Thank you. I have plenty of shoes and what you have should go to the needy. Besides, it is my fault for forgetting... and.. as it happens.. I like being barefoot. So no. It's fine." Seeing Diana sit, Miranda turns her attention to the artifacts in the lounge with a thoughtful look and tactile learning.. with care naturally.

"I've been reading up on the myth and legend... home of the Amazons.. a place of peace and enlightenment. A place where war and greed are all but forgotten.. yet where you prepare to face both." Miranda's words are almost wistful. "I was born on an island. Volcanic. Surrounded by hate and fear and death..." Even as she says it, her eyes cast to the floor and she looks to Diana. "I would like to think I can trust you, Princess Diana. May I trust you?"
Diana Prince Diana's hands came together in front of her knees as her knees pressed together, her forearms laying over the tops of her thighs. She smiled a little at the statement of prefering her feet to be bare and gently nodded to it as well, but with Miranda continuing on she didn't reply to it.

After she hear her speak, Diana's chin lowered a little and she lifted her black eyebrows up some. "Themyscira is a peaceful place, yes. But, I have seen many cities around the world that mimmick it in many ways. It is not quite so unheard of, for a 'small town' to simply wish for its quiet days. But judging by what you were raised in... I can tell it must feel as foreign as the moon."

The Princess would nod her head then. "And yes, you can trust me, of course you can."
Miranda Madsen     "You aren't the only one to pass the ages untouched by the ravages of time." Miranda notes wanly. "Though I can't say to have passed through so many ages of man as you have." There's a small laugh. "That your people do not desire the things which drove my own to madness or even to death by those who would hunt us.. allays many a fear on my part." She takes a deep breath then walks to a window.
Miranda places her palms upon the sill and looks out into the garden. "I do not seek war. I've seen enough death in the meager two hundred years of my existence. I have acquired wealth.. because I've had no other purpose. But what I have never had... is a home. I've feigned one identity after another in an attempt to go through the years in some semblance of normalcy to keep the mundane world at bay... but.. none of it truly mattered." She turns then and sits on the edge of the window. "So when I heard of your consulate and that the myth.. might be real? You can imagine what that might mean to someone like me. Why a 'small town'.. while quaint.. would leave as many questions as it provided answers."
Diana Prince Diana simply sat there on the edge of the chair and observed the woman while attentively listening to her words and rundown of her existence, even if in light detail.

Outside in that garden through the windows there were two more Amazonaian women, in full armor. They were standing in front of a small group of what can only be described as tourists, and they are seemingly giving a presentation of sorts. There's a lot of little kids in the group and the kids seem enthralled by the two women in their shiney armor and fancy weapons.

"You sound very distressed." Diana said then to Miranda. "Restless even." She added. "But I am still unsure of how to assist you. Are you looking for a place that you might... relax? I would offer Themyscira, but my kin are not terribly welcoming of outsiders."
Miranda Madsen     "I am looking for a home, Diana." Miranda concedes earnestly. "But you make a valid point for which I have no argument. Those who would protect their home from outsiders have no reason to trust. Especially when faced with someone with my.. history." Her expression acknowledges an inner irony with a faint smirk. "I feel as though I must offer you a truth if you are to even consider the request. I am.. so far as I am aware.. the last. At least, the last that has remained on this Earth and not departed for other dimensions or higher realms. Perhaps one day I may as well but.. I am young."

Her cryptic words are not lost on her and Miranda looks up to Diana pragmatically. "Trust.. you see.. is something that is hard come by in my world. For all that I have fought by man's side against evil men and their greed... it is rare to find.. understanding." She looks out the window at the tourists and frowns. "How large are your grounds here?"
Diana Prince Diana seemingly remained perfectly still and attentitive, sitting with her back straight and her eyes upon her guest. She would purse her lips and gently nod her head in understanding of what Miranda was saying, then she'd spek up at the final question.

"This property sits on two acres of land." She tells the other then. "I'm quite curious to know what you would consider a 'home' to be, Miranda." She told her then. "You clearly have a great deal of financial wealth, so I have no doubt you could afford almost any location to call a home, but... if that is not enough for it to -be- your home... then what would it take?" She asked this question with a great level of curiosity fueling it and that was clear on her face whilst watching her and waiting for her response.
Miranda Madsen     "Family? Someone I could grow old with? A sense of community?" Miranda lists off a few qualifications off the top of her head. "I've lived a solitary life and I will admit that I am lonely. I see people fall in love every day.. grow old.. have familes.. die.. yet.. aside from love.. I've experienced none of these nor will I. And love.." Her voice trails off and she is silent for a time before licking her lower lip and pushing away from the window. "Do you mind if we go for a walk?"
Diana Prince Diana heard this and it made her visibly smile in a warm and happy way. "Love is a battle, all in its own right." She said then before nodding softly once at the final question and moving to rise back up to her heel-wearing feet.

"We can walk the central courtyard if you'd like." She said to Miranda, moving toward the double doors once more to pull them open again and look back to her guest. "Are you saying then that you have never met someone that you cared enough for to believe it to be 'love'?" She would ask. "You seem to be a very passionate person, I would think you have found at least some experience in this... even if you are at a young age still."
Miranda Madsen     Miranda follows Diana's direction to the central courtyard in a physical silence though her voice is heard, "I have. Once. It was a fleeting thing that did not last. He was Canadian. Died in the second world war. He was the first and only man I have met with a noble soul." She gives a little laugh then. "I suppose Superman might fit the bill these days although I am certain I would have to get in line."

As the pair near the center of the courtyard, Miranda walks out into it and lifts her arms out from her sides. She looks left. Looks right. "The last person to see me tried to kill me." She offers to the air. "Let us hope that I have chosen to place my trust wisely." She takes a deep breath then and her well tanned skin begins to glow. She is growing, wings sprouting from her back, neck elongating...

When the transformation is complete, she is resplendant. Golden scales glisten the daylight such that she is a reflection of the sun. Easily the size of a school bus, she coils her tail beside her and keeps her wings furled as she sits then lowers herself. Even so, her neck curls such that her head lowers to be level with Diana. "I am Amarantharial the Golden. My sire and dam I know not of. My clutchmates were crushed or kept by wizards and slayers. I trust now you comprehend the gravity of my situation."
Diana Prince Diana simply backed up when the transformation started, she didn't feel threatened by it, she simply could tell what was in-store before it was even finished... she'd seen things like this before... She did seem surprised however, at least a little... now standing in the archway that lead out into the courtyard from the western corridor that they'd come out of.

"I am rather certain that you could cut to the front of the line waiting for Superman..." She softly joked as her initial verbal response to Miranda then. A moment later and a warm smile showed on her face.

"I do see the nature of your dilemma then. Or at least I can start to better grasp it." After a short exhale she nodded once. "You seek a place where you can be comfortable with yourself, in this form and otherwise."
Miranda Madsen     Miranda.. that is.. Amarantharial.. dips her long chin in acknowledgement of Diana's summary. "That would be ideal. A place where I can find a cave out of the way to make my own. Where I might sail the skies or swim the seas without need for obfuscation. Such a place.. would have my protection.. such as it is." She stretches her wings but only slightly.. fully unfurling them would be awkward to be sure. "A place where I know that the desire for wealth is secondary to other considerations. There have been many over the years who have sought me for the myth of my wealth. Something I would not fear for on your island..." There is a tilt of her muzzle as the rhetorical statement remains an interrogative.
Diana Prince Diana would hear this and she would nod once before placing her hands together in front of her lap and taking a quiet little breath. "I fully do understand." She told the other. "And... if you would like... it can be something I present as a question to my mother when I speak to her next." She showed a hint of a grin tugging at the corner of her lips. "You see... she makes any such decisions when it comes to the island. It... is not up to me to decide if you would be allowed to reside there or not."

Diana would glance toward the north and look toward the hallway there for whatever reason, before looking back toward Amarantharial. "I can say, that I know that the people of Themyscira would be very wary of a dragon being given residence there. Dragons are creatures that my people are not generally taught to be of a friendly nature. There are many stories of dragons terrorizing villages and towns, and heroic tales of battling them. I fear it might give you a slanted reputation in the eyes of my kind."

Diana exhaled sharply and swiftly then. "But I can try my very best to... talk you up?"
Miranda Madsen     A dragon laughing is an odd thing. It is a chuff and a bellow and a rush of steaming breath. Amarantharial looks to the walls of the courtyard and.. begins to shrink. She returns to her mortal coil with pants and shirt materializing as if by magic.. probably because it is. "And thus you see my problem. Slayers come, righteous in their cause, to kill that which they do not understand. Wizards come seeking my blood and innards for spells. There is little love lost between man and my people. I have lived in relative peace with man for my part. I have killed only those who sought to kill me or in defense of those who deserved it, orphans, children.. there were many Nazis who bore the brunt of my breath this I will confess to you with no remorse."
Diana Prince Diana would gently nod her head to Miranda's words once she'd returned to her illusion-form of a normal woman. "Though my people seek peace and a life within its embrace... You must understand that we are also a warrior people, who are trained on a daily basis to fight evils that would threaten our territories. And sadly, as you say... your kind does not have the best reputation throughout the legends and tales of history." Diana would start to move toard Miranda again then, stopping a few paces away. "But I know you better than most, and I do believe I see a good person behind your eyes... human or dragon. I will propose the idea to my mother. I will see what she says."
Miranda Madsen     "Nor does yours." Miranda notes with some defense. "We, at least, have not killed millions in the pursuit of genetic purity." There's a snort of derision then she looks to Diana. "I apologize. You are being a gracious host and I have no desire to fight with you." She takes a long slow breath. "If your mother requires it, an oath can be given. So long as your people maintain their side of the oath, I will keep mine. This much I will promise you. And yours would be simply be to keep my secret and to never steal from me. I would be then willing to give my life in defense of Themyscira."
Diana Prince Diana would not take any offense and she'd simply show a faint smile that disappeared rather swiftly. She'd lower her chin then and level her gaze to MIranda. "I would be more than happy to pass this message along to her at my earliest opportunity." She'd say back. "I am sorry that you have had so much trouble finding a place where you could... spread your wings... and feel at home and relaxed. If not on Themyscira... then I will offer my assistance to help you find a place somewhere. I am sure that such a place exists."
Miranda Madsen     "Discretely." Miranda emphasizes. "I have not lived this long by making my presence known. Simply hinting at such is enough to summon slayers from the furthest reaches of this planet who feel justified simply because I exist. Such is the irony that your people would feel wary of my presence. If anything, I should fear man. Especially now that magic appears to have returned in full force and legends once again walk the Earth." She gives a shrug. "If you don't mind, I'm going to go for a walk on the grounds. I have.. a lot to think about."
