Kitty Pryde Coming back upstairs after the birthday party, Kitty and Peter head into her room, with Lockheed flying around them. She waits for the dragon to fly in then shuts the door. "Well, I think people by now are probably realizing we're together. If not yet how hopelessly besotted I am," she says with a little chuckle, rubbing Peter's back.

She glances at the bed. "Do you know what you could do for me that would make me love you forever?" she asks. Kitty will let the pause grow just long enough to let Peter's mind run where it will after that bed glancing... and then say, "Give me a little massage? My shoulders feel wound up like a spring."
Spider-Man Pete shimmies a little with a plastic spoon dangling from between his teeth. He'd only made it about halfway up the stairs before he started eating one slice of the cake he'd brought for them, "Yarg." Then after removing the spoon, "Yeah. Secrets out, Kits.. that or we're the closest plutonic friends that have ever walked earth." His hand slaps at her hip and he bobs his head into a clipped nod, motioning towards the bed with the spoon in his hand.

"Lay down, I'm just putting the cake down." Another bite of cake before the plate is set down on a counter, sucking at his fingers to clean them off while crossing back over to it. His flip flops are slipped off with little kicks and he jumps up with just a bare minimum hop to stand on her bed and drop down into a bent knee seat atop the blankets, "In the name of love, I shall do anything for you." Flicking fingers towards himself, than patting the bed between his legs.
Kitty Pryde Kitty smiles and leans over to give Peter a peck on the cheek. "You're the best boyfriend ever," she tells him. She slips off her shoes and goes to lie down on the bed, pulling a pillow over to get comfortable. Lockheed flies and lands beside her, moving into press against her shoulder as he curls up.

"So, sorry about being tipsy the other day. Was questioning some guys about a drive by shooting. Someone tries to shotgun Hank down. And, well, the guy I was asking about died a few years back and they wouldn't let us out there until we drank a rounds toasting his memory," Kitty says, sighing. "You were awesome with the car. And, sorry about Carrie. So what's this about kidnapping?"
Spider-Man "What can I say, I'm smitten.. an arrow through the heart.. You have me under your mystical spell, Ms. Kitty Pryde." Pete lays a hand against his pecked cheek and grins at Kitty laying beside him on the bed. A little jerk of his hips and he's got one knee on either side of hers with his hands down against her shoulders, surprisingly light despite how he's leaning. Core muscles for days, this guy. The thumbs on both hands move in together just between her shoulderblades and begin kneeding the muscles along the top of her back, steadily working out into a finger tip like fan in either direction towards her shoulders.

A little glance at Lockheed and Pete winks at the empathic dragon, again looking down at Kitty laying face down beneath him.

The mention of the previous day draws out a sigh, but not enough to stop his palms squeezing against Kits traps, moving his thumbs to loosen the muscles held in his surprisingly easy grip. "I wondered about that." He admits, only frowning a little at the revelation. He doesn't even consider telling her to be careful, though... It both surprises and pleases him. It's a sign of real trust, "Yeaaaah.. she's got a mean hook. Real nice girl otherwise, I'm sure. You know, for being kidnapped." Not the time for jokes Parker.

"Okay, this is not an easy one to explain.. but Scarlet Spider is... well. Okay so you know how when you fight super villains for nine years, some of whom are insanely intelligent and certified scientific geniuses?" As if this is going some place that makes any sense, "Scarlet Spider is a result of one of those 'honest to goodness' mad scientists. In theory, and in actuality, he's a clone.. Not ''exact'', but close.. his name is Ben Reilly... and he lacks a lot of my more subtle, ney delightful charms."

He's quiet for a second, "I've led a very strange life, Kits.."
Kitty Pryde Kitty melts. The fingers work over her body and yes she is feeling far more tense than normal. "Oh sweet God," she whispers. "Pete, what the world of wall-crawling heroes gained when they got you, the world of masseurs lost equally," she says with a sigh. Her muscles are giving way to the firm touch which is so easy for the extra-strong young man straddling her to do.

Kitty listens quietly. "Oh. Right. Clone. It's usually one of those. Clone. Child come back from a dystopian future. Or shadow puppets of evil. Though you'd think they'd all have goatees, the last group," she says.

Yep, she's taking this lying down. Literally. "Ok, well, glad it wasn't you then. So... ah should I get turned on at all at the thought of two of you out there? Ok I'm kidding, don't worry. You're you and the only you I care about. I know that can be a little disconcerting. I don't have any clones that I know of. But my future adoptive daughter from a couple of decades in the future is here at the school, nearly my age, AND has a better body than me. So I get how these kind of relationships can be awkward and all. Well I can't run interference for you with Carrie on it anyway, but then, she doesn't really need to be around Spidey, just Peter."
Spider-Man "I just follow the music of your muscles." Peter teases, working from side to side with both hands to double up the effort on each of her shoulders until they loosen beneath his attentive grip. Once he's satisfied with her shoulders, both thumbs run up the base of her spine at the back of her neck, smoothing those out with a deep touch and turning swipe of his fingers.

"It's always clones." Pete says with an unfortunate, but knowing, nod that she obviously cant' see. "There was a while there where he thought he actually was me... and almost had me convinced I wasn't, but like I said... he wasn't a perfect match." The subject is not one that he shares lightly and he physically stiffens at her joke.

It's just a half second pause in his hands and they resume moving, but he's quiet for a little while after, "I know you're joking and I absolutely appreciate that you're capable of joking about this.." Because it's a really screwed up situation and he knows it is. "But.. not about this. I know that's kind of hypocritical of me.." His hands slide away from her neck, fingers lightly touching along her clothed back, and down upon his own thighs when he sits on his heels.

"He tried to steal my life from me.. we're okay now, sure, and I like Ben-" Ben IS him afterall, who better to talk to? "-But that's a deep wound.. and exactly the kind of crap he'd have tried to pull.. before." He leans forward to kiss the back of her head, "Besides, genetic markers being what they are, I'm definitely better than him based entirely on copy losing toner strength. I call it the fax machine effect."

Now that's a fun bit of trivia! "Your adoptive daughter from a potential future or your future? Because we're talking quantum reality now and the whole concept of time travel is amazing to me... wouldn't her being here negate the existance of her being here unless it creates some parallel line? Like... now you can have intimate details about a ''possible'' future, since if you don't follow exactly as it was originally written it would change everything." He can literally talk about this for hours unless she stops him, "Don't even get me started on the paradox of a singular timeline where you're already aware of her coming back, either. Whoa.. that boggles my mind."

A pause, "God our lives are strange."
Kitty Pryde Kitty turns her head so she can see Peter, and reaches back to rest her hand on his leg. "I was sorry for saying it practically the moment I did. I honestly don't know anyone with a clone who hasn't been a bit weirded out by it. And most it is more than a bit," she says.

She squeezes his leg, looking into Peter's eyes, letting her expression let him know she's sorry for the joke. "I'm glad you were able to work it out with him that much," Kitty tells him. "But no, you're the only man I want, Peter Parker. I don't want copies. I want you." She gives him a smile and lets her emotions for him fill her eyes.

Kitty slowly relaxes back down again. "Well, she's not from our future. There was never a Superman in her world, for one thing," Kitty says. "But, it was a world where the continent was taken over by the Sentinels. Those with the mutant gene herded into work camps. Mutants brainwashed to hunt down other mutants. Her Kitty went by Kate. And they broke into a lab where an advanced Sentinel was being developed, and got trapped. In something Kate couldn't phase out of. Somehow Kate sent her back in time and probably died there. When she saw me... tackled me pretty much hugging me," Kitty says, giving a small smile at that memory.
Spider-Man "I..." Peter reaches up to scratch at the back of his neck, getting a little red in the cheeks when he sees the adoration in her eyes, "I know.. of course I know." It's said quietly, leaning down to kiss her temple right behind her visible eye, "It's... yeah.. I mean... kind of." An awkward situation. It feels almost silly in hindsight to think he might get jealous of.. himself. Kind of himself?

Really weird.

Pete's hands return to Kitty's shoulders and begin their methodical massage, down both arms with his body bending impossibly without much reason for silly things like gravity in needing to keep himself from falling down upon her. His hands move all the way down to her's, lacing fingers together across the top of her knuckles, "I've never told anyone about Ben.. I'm not.. It's not like I'm ashamed, but it kind of makes me look like an asshole?" Ben's creation was in no way Peter's fault, but he still feels incredibly guilty about how things turned out.

He shakes his head and kisses the back of her neck as he sits back up.

"Huh, Rachel.. Well, I don't really know her very well, but I can tell you from casual observation that I disagree with your assessment of who has the better body. Maybe it's my love goggles, which I doubt, but you've got your adoptive daughter from a potentially volitile, supermanless future beat. Hands down." Then he's quiet, listening and even grinning as she recounts the last of the memory, scooting himself down onto the back of her knees to work his fingers further along her back. "That sounds ... well I'd have like to have seen that. Odd, possible future reunions are a once in a lifetime event, I hear."
Kitty Pryde Kitty groans in a good way as Peter works his hands over her tight muscles. Muscles that are much less tight than they were before he started. "Oh... yeah... that's the stuff. I'm so paying you back," Kitty tells him quietly. She slides a hand down the bed, blindly finding his leg to pat warmly.

"She's a good friend, but still getting used to our world," Kitty says with a nod. "But I'm glad she's here. Especially after what she went through. And she's learning more control. No more vaporizing the computer room. Hopefully," she says, shivering just a bit at that near miss.

Kitty falls quiet for a little bit before something else ticks her memory. "So, Stephen's girlfriend, or, whatever she is. Felicia. I got the feeling you two... not just knew each other. Something worse. What's the story there?" Kitty asks.
Spider-Man "I'm a giver." Peter teases Kitty's groaned appreciation of his wiggly fingers. The way they bend in ways that aren't exactly natural to the human hand really does make them superb for massages, able to get up and under tight muscles to work out tense knots. "I will, however, be calling in that favor as soon as we're done here." Grinning at her warm touch to his leg, a pinky stuck out to brush along her wrist as he once again scoots backwards to start working on her thighs and calves.

"As odd as things are, as otherworldly as our otherwise otherworldly world gets, it's simple things like that..." pointing at Kitty's explanation of how good Rachel is adapting, "That keep me from losing my mind. A girl from a dangerous future comes back to our world and... aside from the obvious concern she must feel with the Sentinels we're now dealing with... not only begins to feel at home, but finds a loved one she thought lost?" He hums quietly, kneeding her right thigh just above the knee.

There's no jump in his voice at the mention of Felicia, not even an awkward stammer, "Felicia Hardy." He says with a slow nod, "I've known her a long time... not sure exactly 'how' long, but.." He cants his head from side to side, "It hasn't always been very friendly. Never, like, Vulture or Lizard, but.. we've thrown hands once or twice. She use to be a thief, back when I was still a kid.. probably still now too... absolutely still now.. but she's done enough good that as long as I don't catch her in the act, I don't go looking for trouble."

He's quiet for a minute, "We have ''never'' dated, though.. I hope you didn't get that impression."
Kitty Pryde Kitty listens quietly, still relaxing under the wonderful massage. "I think more Vulture or Lizard, than past lover is what I came away with. Well, not at first maybe. But after a bit it seemed more likely you'd fought than... the good kind of fought," Kitty says.

She turns her head to look back to Peter. "Huh. I didn't have any idea but then I've only seen her a few times. I suppose Stephen probably knows her past? Or... well, actually I don't know if he does or not. I mean, he's not Jean, I don't know if he reads minds. Seems like he doesn't actually from my experience. I should probably say something to be sure. Just, try to do it without seeming to insult her or something like that.

Kitty raises an eyebrow. "So, how is it she knows you as Peter though? I mean if you were fighting her, how does she know your identity?" she asks.
Spider-Man Peter blows out a sigh from his nostrils, a bit of relief in his body language when she confirms she hadn't thought the less appealing alternative to what might have been going on in the strange, Strange kitchen. "He definitely suspects." He confirms with a little frown, glancing up at Kitty as he finishes off the massage of one leg by kneeding his fingers up the centers arch of her foot. It's rised so it's kind of sitting against his chest, the other arm wrapped around her calf, "I ran into a month or so back and we caught up on what's been going on.. she mentioned working with Strange. I was..." He blows out another sigh and waves his hand away, only for it to come right back to her leg, "I was surprised to see her out of costume. I don't know that I ever have... she looks happy though."

He nods once, grinning a little.

"Maybe Stephen can do what I never could..." He doesn't elaborate for a second, then glances up at Kits, "Get her to turn over a new leaf.. I just got her to flip it a little and see what the otherside looks like." A half grin, a little chortling laugh, and Pete crawls back up to lay beside her on his side with his head propped up on one palm and the other rubbing lightly against her back.

"I was young and kind of stupid.. and I didn't have anyone to talk to about anything. She was one of the first people who listened." His flick around slowly, then settle on her brown gaze, "So I told her who I was.. and she told me. Back then..." He starts, then stops, "It was different. There were other heroes, sure, but I was out there by myself.. really young, way too young... and I was scared. I needed someone to talk to and she listened."

Which probalby explains why he gives her a break she likely doesn't deserve ''legally''.
Kitty Pryde "Hmmm," Kitty muses softly as Peter mentions that Stephen knows already. "Alright. Well, I /hope/ that he has things secured in there that need to be. I mean, the house is magic but I truly can't imagine that's the only thing protecting what's important. Though now I'm supposed to catalog it all... ah... I really need to talk to Wong," she says, frowning a bit.

"Sorry you didn't get to meet him. Really nice, warm demeanor when he likes you. Which I'm sure he will with you. Loves ice cream. Food in general. Knows most of the place in the village," Kitty says.

She lets out a sigh. "Oh god, you do foot massages too? Peter... keep this up and I'm going to fall in love with you," she tells him. Then snaps her fingers. "Wait, too late."

Kitty looks back at Peter again. "I'm so comfortable with you Pete. You're like a favorite old sweatshirt that I can put on and snuggle down in a chair by the fire and watch a movie in, and is so soft and and warm. And it's ok if I spill french onion dip on because it washes out fine. But that also has amazing rock solid abs," she says.
Spider-Man "I'm not saying you shouldn't mention it to him, but..." Peter cranes his head to the side, "I nearly went to blows with someone protecting the information I just told you... and I lied to Captain America. Right in his face.. I haven't lied since I was 16... not about anything substantial, but I lied for Felicia when they asked me who she was." There's a point and it isn't how much he'd go to bat for this criminal, "The point I'm getting at... is I never even hesitated telling you."

He tilts his head a little more, looking at her from the same point of view she's laying in, "I'm sure it's not the last time I'll be at the sanctum. I get the impression I made, if not a good, at least a passible impression on the Doctor.. and if Wong is half as awesome as you make him sound? We're going to be fast friends."

As for foot massages? "Only yours and Aunt Mays." Clipped nod, huge goofy grin, "I love you too." Rolling dramatically to drape his arm across her shoulders, face laying right up close to Kits, noses almost touching.

"Alright, here's the thing about that analogy.." Fishing around with the arm across her back for her hand, his own bent awkwardly to do so, "What are you ''wearing'' under this favorite sweater? Now, I know traditionally when eating french onion dip there need be a second, potentially third, barrier... but.." Moving so as to kiss her nose, "I'm ''kind of'' leaning in a particular direction in my head? Especially if we're talking amazing rock solid abs." Up against her, she can feel them flexing playfully,

"Which I do have."
Kitty Pryde Kitty laughs and rolls her eyes. "You are the most wonderful type of goof," she tells him. She leans her forehead against his, closing her eyes and enjoying the closeness. Also? She totally cops a feel of those abs.

"I won't put you at risk, don't ever want to do that," Kitty nods. "It can really be tough sometimes, keeping identities and all," she says with a sigh. Kitty opens her eyes and looks over to Peter, lying close to him and snuggling her body with his.

"In addition to the X-men, I've been doing some additional work with some others," she tells him. "I'm not really saying much about it, as... I've just seen first hand how too much knowledge can put other's identities at risk. And even trying to keep it quiet, there are things that people notice, so. But... I realize," Kitty says, "That you need to know something. I mean, if I'm gone or something, you need some idea. So... there's a very little known hero in Gotham. That goes by Blackbird. That's me," she says. "She has a raven though no one seems to have picked up on that." Kitty reaches over to where Lockheed is snuggled up against her side, and flicks a stud on his collar. The image inducer in the collar comes on, creating a holographic raven body over his.
Spider-Man "I am, it is entirely true these slanderous words spoken of me." Peter says with a bemused, if corny, grin. After a moment, he moves her so she's laying with her back up against his chest, but not before letting her totally cop a feel. That's just the polite thing to do and he's anything if not polite.

Now with both arms wrapped around her shoulders, hugging her against him, he sighs contentedly and listens to what she's to say about... Blackbird. "That's a cute name." Then the image induction switch on Lockheed, "And that's a smart looking raven you got there." Kissing the back of her head, every bit as understanding as she has been all night.

"I'll always worry when you 'go dark' or disappear to do.... Gotham Stuff...." He clearly is not a fan of the city, but who really is? "I kind of got the impression from Stephenie that ''other guy''-" Jason, "-Wasn't exactly a ''working at a law firm'' kind of bloke.. but I've not tried to put any of those pieces together either. That's your business.. hopefully, and I mean this at face value and totally not suggestively, you one day make it my business."

Quiet for a second before he adds, "But there's a lot of variables that go into things and I get that.. So I wont ever ask... and I'll always make sure you really want to tell me before I let you. The most important thing to me, between us, is trust. I ''trust'' you. You can handle yourself.. you don't need an overprotective spider-boyfriend coming snooping around in Gotham where he absolutely, one hundred and twenty two percently, does not belong." BUT! "Can we work on a safeword or something? Just a word you can text me so I know you're going to be out of touch.. because I don't give a shit where it is.. if something ever happens to you.. if you're ever gone and I... I /will/ come looking. Space.. hell.. a dreamscape... Jersey.." shudder at that last one, ".. I'm going to find you and make sure you're safe."
Kitty Pryde "Safe word?" Kitty asks. "Screw that, I'm giving you a whole extensive code book to memorize!" she says exuberantly. Kitty grins at him and says, "I'm kidding about the extensive part, but yes. We need some simple things that have extra meanings. Some that can be said under duress without sounding off. I'm pretty careful about these things, you see," she says.

Kitty lets out a sigh. "Because, things in Gotham really are pretty nuts. It's amazing what these people, without any enhanced powers, the amount of destruction the villains there create," she says, shaking her head.

Kitty pauses a moment and says, "Jason... you know he's one of Bruce Wayne's sons, I think? Well, he has a security company. He grew up on the streets before he was adopted. So he yes he was a pretty rough sort compared to most. But he picked up the best of his father I think. And... well, I loved him, Pete. I was head over heels, I was. I wanted to marry him."

Kitty looks down, one hand going to the other, habitually seeking out a ring that isn't there anymore. It's in a jewelry box, Pete would know, on a necklace, but rarely worn now. Kitty pulls her hand away when she realizes what she was doing. "But that's in the past. He left and... and it's for the best. You're the man I want to be with. I see now... I'm ready for this relationship with you. Maybe I would have been before, but I don't know. It took me something to get over Piotr eventually. I'd crushed on him what felt like my entire life."
Spider-Man "Extensive codebook." Pete nods against the back of her neck, the grin implied, but it's there against her hair, "Oh, I've got one... If I send you a text; meet me at twin pines.. that means I was kidnapped by Libian terrorists that are trying to get me to build them a plutonium based nuclear bomb." His head moves so he can kiss the bass of her skull, squeezing her against him a little tighter before his arms loosen. "Now, it's important that you don't think Armanians.. they're not really terrorists, so much as sex trafficers. So that'll be; I've got a particular set of skills.."

He jokes, but it's clear that he understands.

"We'll work on some. Things only you and I know.. so that no matter what happens, if I'm hurt you can find me and visa versa." Because Pete has his own host of really crappy people who wouldn't mind putting a scorpion tail through his chest. Bad news. Lots of agony.

Do not recommend.

Pete listens thereafter in something that's kind of strange for him... silence. Not because he's uncomfortable with what she's saying, he certainly isn't pulling away from her or loosening the arms aroound her shoulders. What kind of hypocracy would that even be? He was engaged, he's been there, and he completely understands.

"I would have loved to have gotten to know you better months ago, but who knows how that would have turned out? Both of us with fresh wounds? I was angry... hurt.. who knows. As much as I wish, really wish, that it had /always/ been you.. It is now and it /always/ will be from here on."

Piotr. Peter grins a little, wide enough that it's felt in the flex of his neck and the tightening of his shoulders, "You mean the metal guy with the sister who set my spider senses off just by looking at me? ... You sure can pick'em, babe."
Kitty Pryde Kitty laughs at Pete's impression of the Russian X-man. "Yeah, well. That one was... he came with the others to recruit me to Xavier's. Saw him downstairs talking to my parents and I was thoroughly smitten," she says, Kitty shaking her head and giving a sad sigh.

"Crushed on him all the time through school. And, ah, that age difference, even if he had feelings, nothing could happen, right? So... we ought about me going to Oxford. He said I wouldn't have left if I loved him. I told him he wouldn't put me in that spot if he loved me. Well. He was probably right. Because I stayed here rather than going back to finish my astrophysics degree after I met Jason. I wasn't going to not try. But Piotr and I? We talked it out and... it was over, yeah. We'd gone a year without talking. Who does that with a soul mate, right?"

Kitty finally falls silent. She lets out a sigh and looks over into Peter's eyes. "You're such a great guy. Betsy is a fool for letting you slip away. I hope she ends up happy, but I'm not going to make that mistake, Pete." She reaches over, squeezing his hands tight.
Spider-Man "You could say he has a thick skull, huh?" Peter shakes his head immediately, "Nah, that doesn't play.. forget I said that." Leaning against her with a heavy sigh, one hand up to brush hair back away from her face, eyes not really moving, but clearly looking at little details with a growing smile.

"Yeah, Jason screwed up bigtime..." He agrees, their ex's.. well Peter's anyways, he doesn't know Jason well enough to hope that he finds love in the mean streets of Gotham. "But here I am." He takes her hand and moves them backwards so they're over her head, held back, without yanking her arms, behind her head.

"Hell, I can barely go a day without talking to... a /year/?! W-.. what kind of insanity.." He shakes his head, eyes dramatically wide, forehead pressing up against Kits, "Couldn't do it. I'd go stir crazy.. start writing a text and erasing it for hours and hours like I was twelve trying to ask a girl to the Talkies." That's movies in 40s nonsense words.
Kitty Pryde Kitty seems to stumble for a few seconds before finding words. "Ah... yes... well, we were both upset. After the argument," Kitty says, seeming distracted. "When I left we were still mad and... well, I was waiting for him to apologize I guess. And so was he. And then you've gone a month or two and it's awkward to be the one to break the silence," Kitty says.

"Though I did come back to find out and... anyway, it's over." she says. Her fingers wiggle against Peter's where he's holding them, and she leans over to brush a kiss to his lips, lingering against them as she lets the kiss go on, and on.

Finally she drifts back, eyes on Peter's. "So we've talked about exes and survived, I think? This really could go the distance," she says, smiling and blushing a bit as she looks down.
Spider-Man Peter laughs a little, but realizing how that might come off he shakes his head, "I'm not laughing at you.. just.. man.." He keeps shaking his head, staring right into her eyes, more so after that lingering kiss. His hands move a little, but only to hold her elbows rather than her wrists, squinting at something a second and then nodding slowly as if finding it.

"I think you're right, Kits." He knows she's right, "I'm all in with you, I want you to know that. I'll stumble through things I forget, I might fudge details where it relates to other peoples identities, but everything.. my whole world.. you're part of it now." He leans forward to kiss her nose, then her lips, but finally settles down infront of her.

"So.. about this sweater you mentioned..."
