Jessica Drew Jessica opens her eyes in the darkness. Only, it doesn't /feel/ like it should still be dark. She stirs slightly and finds herself nestled beneath the comforter, and she wriggles free with some difficulty, then sits up. The hopeful rays of morning sunrise are beginning to spill over the horizon, long before the sun; the mockingbirds are still calling it from the depths of its earthly grave.

Memory begins to surface in Jessica's foggy mind, and she rakes her fingers through her hair, sniffles, and hastily looks back toward where she just disentangled herself. Maybe that wasn't all just a comforter....
Frank Quaid The older man, his skin a sharp contrast to her own, lies sleeping beside Jessica. He lays on his stomach with his arms tucked under his head beneath the pillow. Despite his nose, he breathes quietly.

The dawn finds Frank still there. The comforter is half drapped over him and was likely not the comfort. Because Frank slowly stirs, aware on some level that something has changed. He makes an indistinct noise.
Jessica Drew Jessica breathes a sigh, and memories now flood back as the night unfolds in her mind. Jess wiggles back down under the comforter again, and presses into the warmth of Frank's barely rousing form, kissing his shoulder once, softly.
Frank Quaid "Hmm?" Frank murmurs. He reaches for a phone on the nighttable that is not there purely out of reflex. He gropes for it and then pushes himself up on his elbows to look. And notices he is not at home. There is a moment of confusion that passes when his mind catches up with the delicious feeling his body already enjoys.

Frank rolls in place onto his side and props his head up. The other hand slides under the comforter over Jessica's waist.

"Morning?" he says quietly.
Jessica Drew Jessica smiles and tucks in against Frank's chest. "Mhmm...Morning. Sleep okay?" she asks, tilting her head back far enough to look into his face. Her fingertips trace down over his bicep. "Once you finally slept, I mean...." Jessica's hair is tousled and brushed back from her face, as her eyes seek his.
Frank Quaid Frank smirks just a bit. He rubs the small of Jessica's back with his thumb, just holding her gently to him.

"Once I slept," he nods, meeting Jessica's eyes. "It's a comfortable bed. Good mattress, good comforter. Good company."
Jessica Drew "Good..." Jessica smiles. "I'm glad you stayed, Frank. I think of I'd had to endure one more night of...." She shakes her head. "I think we needed last night..." She has the back of his shoulder cradled in her hand, her breath warm against the top and front of it. "Do you have to be anywhere early?"
Frank Quaid Frank shrugs a bit in response and pulls Jessica just a little tighter to him. He brushes her neck with his lips.

"Let me guess, you know a /great/ breakfast spot," he says lightly, just breathing in the smell of the woman pressed up against him.
Jessica Drew "You know me too well, Frank," Jess replies with a squirmy laugh when he kisses her neck. "I can /make/ breakfast. It just isn't as good as they make. Little mom and pop cafe, hole in the wall. Best breakfast in the known world. And I'm betting you're starving." She nestles her chin against his forehead and kisses it warmly.
Frank Quaid "Lucky guess," Frank says and closes his eyes when Jessica kisses his forehead. "I am pretty hungry... Missed dinner or something."

He rolls over, gently but firmly pushing Jessica onto her back. "When do they stop serving breakfast?"
Jessica Drew Jessica grins and looks up at Frank, shaking her head. "Not till noon, why?" she asks innocently. "You have other ideas for this morning?" She rubs his back lightly as he presses her back onto her pillow. "You're industrious today..."
Frank Quaid "Always said, enjoy a good thing while you got it," Frank says. He smiles and settles over Jessica. "This is pretty damn good." Frank leans down to kiss Jessica.

It some time later when Frank steps out of the shower with Jessica. No false modesty or bashfulness, comfortable with himself and openly admiring Jessica when she reaches for a towel. He towels himself down. Something about the idea of leaving soon gets his mind working again.

"Gotta check in," Frank says to Jessica. He goes back to the guest bedroom and gathers up discarded clothing, his and Jessica's. Frank brings them back to the master bedroom and gets dressed quickly before turning on his phone. The ever-present near frown returns with its well worn lines on Frank's face. But not completely. He scans his messages and sends a few quick replies while Jessica gets dressed.

"This place nearby?" Frank asks.
Jessica Drew "It's about four blocks up from the gate," Jess replies, her brow furrowing a little at Frank's new expression. "Something wrong? Work stresses you, I can see it in your face," Jess observes, wrapping an arm around him and squeezing as she adjusts a red tanktop where it twisted as she pulled it on.
Frank Quaid "Hmm?" Frank asks distractedly while looking at his device. He casually deletes a message on his phone from Elaina and switches to his mail. He opens the first bright red one.

"Nothing wrong, the pile's bigger than normal is all. Didn't make it into the offce last night," Frank says dryly. "Or first thing this morning. Imagine that."

Frank looks over to Jessica and gives her a half-smile. "Thanks," he says quietly.
Jessica Drew "Looks like we made it another day, even with a contract on our heads." She winks and gives his tush a little swat. "I can't say I mind keeping you away from work for a little while. As long as it doesn't overwhelm you. I kinda feel like you can skip the gym, though, y'think?"
