Fiona Glenanne Fiona stretches out on a couch in shors and a t-shirt, watching her TV as she's already bored and tired. Her foot's fractured. She's eschewed going to he ER. Mostly since....well....it was hurt kicking a /demon/. She got home though, and shuffles a little on the couch. Looking over at the TV again, Fi grins. She's got the remote in one hand, then flicks through the channels. If anything, there's gotta be something on. Fi though wonders where her...guardian nun...angel....thing is. "Hey Sister Laurent?" Fi calls. "You still here?"
Maiden of Light It seems the Sister is indeed in! The young woman peeks out of the kitchen, a warm smile on her face. There's a towel holding up her still-wet hair, and she's nicked one of Fi's fluffy robes! Her clothes have demon stench on them, and so she's gone for the 'comfy just out of the shower' look!

"I'm here, Miss Fi! How are you feeling? Can I make you something to eat? Is anywhere hurting?" Comes the Sister with lingering worry peeking through her shyness. At least she's not struck cherry red any more! /For now/!

She bustles over, eyeing the other woman's foot! She all but glares at it, as if a pouty nun face can heal it over! Pouuuut! "I still say we should take you to the hospital."
Fiona Glenanne Fiona looks up. "Oh...um....yes please, whatever will be best for me" Fi says mentally kicking herself for not thinking ahead. Like she'd plan to pretty much fracture her foot. She's....certainly out of it. She's looking to the nun with a quiet look of admiration...and Fi gives a prayer to the god of bullets and explosives that Sister Laurent is here. "Aside from my foot, nothing's hurting" she says. Then a thought crosses her mind. "Is...is this how it was in the past, Sister, the nuns caring for the sick and injured?" she asks suddenly.
Maiden of Light "It sounds like you're in need of pancakes." Comes the expert opinion of one Jeanne Laurent. Clearly these will be holy pancakes. The young woman scuttles back in for a few moments. Luckily it's all instant-type pancakes. It's not like she could read the box!

While they're cooking, Jeanne peeks her head back in. A thoughtful look comes over her face. Eventually she sits down beside Fiona.

"That's a very interesting question! Yes, many nuns acted as nurses in the past. Many still do. Why, one of my friends growing up became a doctor, and kept her vows as well. Healing, spiritual and in body, is the duty of some nuns."

Then she giggles. "I'm not a registered nurse, though. I just know how to care for people. And I give a wonderful shoulder rub!" Grin!

"Aside from smiting demons with heels, what /do/ you do, Miss Fi? This is...impressive." She actually blushes again, indicating the room!
Fiona Glenanne Fi glances up and listens with a smile. "So...you're making food?" she asks then listens more. Looking over she nods. "I grew up in Ireland, the church was a huge part of life there. What do I do? Aside from, well, throwing stilletos as at demons? I'm a....saleswomann" Fi says. She's keeping tight lipped on what exactly she sells. She's not sure the Sister will approve of her choice of career. Still though, Fi looks with a smile. "So you said nuns were nurses, was this in the time when the Church acted as a hospital?" she asks. Apparently she paid attention in her history and religious lessons. Looking around, Fi shrugs waving a hand. "It's what I'm used to, this apartment. It's my home, you know? I can come home and relax here. Please, take a seat" Fi says, her accent strying from New Yorker to Irish back to New York as she speaks. Fiona laughs. "So Sister, you can cook, you get my help smiting demons with $150 shoes...so tell me how I can help you and I'll tell you about myself?" she offers, wriggling a little with a smile as she sits up a little.
Maiden of Light It might be telling of the kind of person that Jeanne is in that she doesn't even question Fiona. "Oh! That sounds exciting! You must be good at it, sales sounds competitive. You're very..." How to put this? "Animated!" Instead of 'raging angry'. Jeanne is way too nice.

The woman claps her hands. "I've always wanted to visit Ireland! Well, you see, many of the most learned men and women were members of the Church at the time. Monks and nuns were everything from scholars, to scientists, and yes, nurses and physicians. At the time, women were just seen as more 'fitted' for nursing." There's a wiggle of her nose in displeasure. This one, at least, is a progressive woman of the faith it seems.

Then she eeps, checking on the pancakes! It doesn't take her long to pull out the slightly mis-shapen pancakes. A little odd looking, but perfectly servicable! The plate is passed over to Fiona, along with some cutlery.

"It's....This is going to make me sound insane. But hopefully the demons we fought prove I'm less mad than some people thing."

She sucks in a breath. "You can probably tell I'm a mutant." She raises her hand, and she's shining with that golden light again! Just for a moment!

"Which is a blessing from the Lord that lets me protect people! Like Miss Zara!" She's assuming here, on their flowery battle partner!

"Let me just say it. I hear voices. I have dreams. I...don't know if they're angels or the Lord...but it's Divine, Miss Fi! Heaven has reached out to me, and given me a path! It's what led me to this."

She opens up her long suitcase, unfurling the banner. "This isn't a themed prop or reproduction. The voice of God and Heaven led me to the battle standard of Saint Jeanne. It...reacts...to my powers. I /know/ how to use it! It feels natural in my hands!" Her eyes are wide, pure faith in this young woman's eyes.

Somewhere during all of this, she'd stood up! The woman immediately sits back down, putting the standard away with the kind of care one would take with any real holy object. Pure reverence.

Her cheeks are cherry red again! "S...so I use it to slay demons and stop crime! I go where the Lord leads me. It's why I'm in the Order of Saint Michael!"
Fiona Glenanne Fiona nods, but she doesn't say muc. She's preferring to just listen, really. Listen and absorb knowledge. Fi is....after all, good at what she does, and all the knowldge in the world is useful, as Fi pops herself up on her elbows and nods. "An actual, honest to God nun. I'm honestly amazed, and happy, and wish my old RE teacher could see me now. Mrs McAllister always said I belonged in a nunnery. Too bad I got involved with an...." she pauses. "Interesting crowd" she shrugs, unsure how much to tell the nun without getting disapproved of. Fi though does listen intently after she's spoken. "A holy order? Okay, now I'm honestly amazed" Fi adds.

She looks around then back to Sister Laurent. "I could tell you about myself, as wel. I'm Fi. I grew up in Ireland, fell in with an....interesting crowd in the Troubles. I did what I had to, if anything some of my friends saw it as God's work to..." she pauses, "Do the things we did then. They saw it as what the Lord wanted, and we were doing his work" Fiona adds with doubt in her voice. "I walked away. Unfortunately my old friends found me. I got out of there and found a new family and friends who accept me" Fi says. That's the Clliffsnotes version of her life, really
Maiden of Light Jeanne lets out a deep breath! "It's really no different from anyone else! Some people have talents and callings. Mine just happens to be prayer, helping others, and putting sharp holy objects into demons." There's audible relief in her voice.

"Thank you, Fi, for not calling me mad or trying to get me committed. I've had to get the Vatican to bail me out four times." Froooown! Those were bad days.

The nun is silent as Fi takes her turn, the woman crossing herself at one point or another. Hmmm!

"Are these people still after you?" She's naieve, but not /stupid/. The offer in the air is obvious.

"But I'm glad you've found family to help keep you sane and safe. The Lord is forgiving of those who repent honestly! And despite your mouth..." Reeeeach, she'll try to poke Fiona on the lips! Pooooke!

"You are brave, faithful, and honest. Most people wouldn't fight demons with stilettos. Nevermind be effective with them." Yeah, that one both amazes and amuses Jeanne!
Fiona Glenanne "It's fine" Fi says with a genuine smile. "Yes, I saw a doctor and I got a proper boot, some medication and instructions to rest" Fiona adds, stretching her good leg out. "Please, stay as long as you like" she adds. She's not syaing which doctor. Or. How she got there and back. It was a very, very interesting time, but she nods. "Oh no, no, Sister, you're no trouble at all. I'd let you know if you were bothering me" Fiona smiles brightly. She's either cheered up. Or. Those meds are working on her.

Fiona smiles. "To answer your questions from yesterday, no, those people aren't after me. They....thought better of picking a fight" she says. She's not about to explain /how/ she dealt with her former IRA friends. That's a tale for another time. Plus, Fi's not okay with explaining that one to Jean, nope, No way.

Fiona gestures to the plates, "Thank you for doing the dishes and cleaning the house, I can see about cleaning the walls if you'd like Fi says, for a second acting like Jean's living here too and it's a shared apartment. Fi's....yeah, what's in those meds?

Fiona though has a hand on the table, staring intently at the fridge like she's willing it to open....ah if only she had telekinesis or something cool like that. She's just regular old Fiona.
