Bobby     "It's hot as balls!" Declares Bobby at around 11 am and with that thought in mind, the ice-man set out to work on the day's task. Starting with a field of snow, a patch of ice and a tower of crystal clear ice as well, Bobby has made a wonderland for those who agree with him that this weather can suck an egg.

It started with him running through the kitchen. "OH EM GEE come look outside." Even if anyone was on their phone or reacted or not, Bobby was already onto the next hub of activity until he ended up back outside, and then he smiles at the ice maze he made and is starting to walk towards.
Negasonic Honestly Ellie had avoided the outdoors for most of the month of August, and labor day weekend and the beginning of September was no exception. A/C is the fruit of the gods, passed down unto mortals by the heavens themselves. Sure some people will point out that the pool is nice and relaxing in the hot weather of summer, but night time swims are just as nice as day time really once it has cooled off.

So yeah she looks up from her phone where she is eviserating someone on social media and finally levers herself up to her feet and peers out the back window..

Okay that is actually pretty awesome, not that she is likely to admit it at all. She heads up to her room to get a warm but thin pair of gloves and heads out back, not bothering to upgrade to winter coat from her usual leather jacket. That should be warm enough after all. First stop is to stomp around in the snow and look around to see all that Frosty the SnowMutant has built.
Rachel Grey Rachel doesn't mind the heat so much. She doesn't mind much of anything, honestly. Except, you know. People. People are draining. But she's still here to protect the school and its inhabitants, even if right now, at the beginning of the school term, there just seem to be a lot of them. And they're loud.

So the distraction of a winter wonderland? That's a welcome shake-up from the usual. Once she gets wind of the excitement, she's peeking out into the backyard, a ghost of a smile flickering across her features when she sees what's there.
Rogue Rogue swoops low in over the trees to the north and then drops out of the sky to land on her feet in the hard on the outside of the ice maze. She puts her hands into her leather jacket pockets and starts to walk around the perimeter with her green eyes scanning over the icy construct. "Well this is new." She idly comments before she starts to walk her way up a grassy hill toward the mansion and what she assumes will be the front of the ice maze.

"I'm gessin' there's a Robert t'blema for this." She calls out as she appears on the lawn and keeps walking at a slow pace to observe everything going on. "I thought we were trying to impressive the new students with our professionalism around here."
Bobby     "Rachel! Elle!" Bobby says from the layer of snow he's left on the ground. Several inches deep and he scoops up a handful and starts to pat it into a ball shape. Oh someone's going to get a snowball special and it's going to be glorious.

"Come on out! This is going to be a hoot!" Yeah, he's cool and he knows it. Bobby's blonde eyebrow cocks up as he watches Rogue start to land and with a smirk he primes his arm over his shoulder and heaves the snow ball in her direction.

"How's this for professionalism!" Bobby declares.
Negasonic "I mean... I am pretty certain that showing the incoming kids we have snowdays in summer is a pretty high selling point for why being here and being a mutant is ... okay." yeah she almost said awesome but caught herself.

She does stop stomping and does crouch down now to make a snowball, she brought those thin winter gloves with her for a reason. "Wait... is that a SnowBlob.... I fought that guy a month ago... he and my powers doooo not mix."
Rachel Grey "Don't make me melt your surprise," Rachel smirks, snapping her fingers and summoning a ball of flame to her hand as she takes a few careful steps into the snowy wonderland. With a thought, her t-shirt and sweatpants are replaced with something a little more appropriate for the cold, along with a pair of gloves.

"Just blowing off some...snow?" Okay, so witty wordplay isn't really her thing.
Rogue Rogue watches the snowball that Bobby throws at her, miss by about fifteen feet to her right. She glances over at it as it splats against the grass and breaks apart into hundreds of snowy pieces. "Nice arm, Kevin Costner." She says the only baseball player's name she can think of, even though he... wasn't a baseball player at all, really.

The southern gal walks closer to the others and she grins at Ellie. "You almost said something overly positive there, didn't ya, Ells?" She chides her younger friend. "Nah, I'm sure the new kids will think this is pretty amazin', unless there's a new video game out this weekend..."

A grin is shown to Rachel too who's mastered the arts of the fiery locos counter-measures to Bobby's ice. "Ya know, in a matter'a weeks now we're all gonna be sick t'death'a snow again, right?"
Bobby     "Everyone's gotta learn to accept themselves for who they are at some point. Elle." Bobby says before he's starting to run from Rogue even though his throw was way off. Then with a shuffle of his feet, sending up bursts of snow at every crest of his feet, Bobby is making for the tower of ice he spent so much time on and disappears inside. "Hey, Phoenix lady! That's off limits, and dang you sound a lot like Scott with those awful jokes." Bobby says as his head appears in the window of the second floor of the structure.
Negasonic "There is no proof I almost said anything positive Rogue." she notes with utmost serious.

Then she wings that snowball she has been forming at Bobby. She knows not to toss it at Rogue, it isn't like Rogue would even feel it. Bobby though might not be cold but he still is a decent target.

"That is when we get Rachel to melt it all and we pretend it is summer.. doh."
Rachel Grey "Aw, c'mon, that's a little harsh, don't you think?" Rachel objects to that characterization of her jokes! She has nothing to do with Scott Summers! "And hey, you show me a snowball attack, I show you the best way to deal with cold stuff. That's just solid tactics right there."

Not helping the 'sounding like Scott' issue there.

Her next move, at least, isn't quite so Summersy. With a scooping motion of her hand, she uses telekinesis to send a spray of snow in Bobby's direction, scooping it off the ground in a wave.
Rogue Rogue stops to Ellie's left and just keeps her hands inside of her leather jacket's pockets while she watches Bobby running off kicking snow up in his wake like a cartoon character. She grins at the others firing back at him with snow and quips, then turns her gaze toward the school when she notes a big gaggle of the younger students all lining up on the back patio porch, having filtered out from inside.

"I think your winter wondahland has been spotted, Bobby Drake." She notes of the kids all pining to come down and out to experience the icy happenings here on this hot late late summer day.
Bobby     "They're all-blargleburblglarg! *COUGH*" Bobby gets pelted by Elle's missile and then the reverse avalanche of Rachel's attack is not something Bobby anticipated. "HAY NO FAIR!" Bobby shouts back down once he can breath again and even shakes his fist at Rachel.

Disappearing away from the window, Bobby slides down the slide on the back side of the ice tower and waves his hands. "Don't just stand there kids. Get Rachel and Rogue with some snow balls. Everyone is welcome to this paradise."
Ororo Munroe Ororo crunches through the snow in her flipflops, heedless of the chill nipping at her feet. Bangles around her ankles click with a rattle of ceramic beads. Her attire's much more suited for late summer than for an incipient New England autumn. Her halter-topped dress bares her shoulders and arms and stops just below her calves, a striking geometric symmetry of blue and gold fractals against white cotton.

"You're keeping this away from my garden beds, I hope, Mister Drake?" Her tone lacks any real severity, and a dancing mirth in her eyes robs it of any sincere outrage. Ororo pushes her wealth of white hair from one side of her head to the other, beads in the intricate plaids tinkling as the mane of white braids is shifted to bare her shorn temples to the air.
Negasonic Ellie looks very satisfied when the snowball hits the target dead on. "Mmm danger room is paying off." she notes to herself then well if there is a horde of dirty gap toothed youngings on their way to throw snow at Rogue and Rachel... Ellie decides to be a little more scarce in case she gets turned on.

She walks through the snow until she gets to the solid patch of ice, a bit extra slippery due to the surface melting under the August sun. She has her boots on, but still this isn't too bad and it is a bit like the how to fight on sudden ice simulations as well. So she pushes off and skates along in her boots... sliiide
Rachel Grey "Fair?" Rachel grins at Bobby's complaint, arching a brow and raising her hands at her sides. "You started the war, Iceman. And you know what they say. All's fair in love and war." She wouldn't know so much about the first, but she's pretty familiar with the second.

As others come out to wage the snow war, she turns to face them, grin broadening. "All right, bring it on!" she crows. It //is// good practice, after all.
Rogue At the invitation being made public to join in, that gaggle of kids all rush down the steps to the backyard and through the hedges to rush toward Bobby's creation, they all fan out and start going into full-on crazy kid rage.

Rogue watches them rush the place and she just grins before she takes note of Storm's arrival and raises a hand to wave at the woman. "Heya, Lady." She says in a sassy sort've way to her. "Like'n your dress there. I see you've already discovered Bobby's Ice Level." Out of the corner of her eye she notes Ellie slippin' and slidin and she motions toward her. "Everyone knows the ice levels are the worst, Bobby." She states with a grin, trying to tease him ever-relentlessly.

Rogue hops up onto one of the stone walls and moves to just sit down on it and hold her hands together palms-flat between her thighs as she watches the others, staying happily in the summer themed part of the yard, which is her personal favorite season of the year anyway!
Bobby     "It's the water levels, not the ice levels. Stop trying to be cool and hip Rogue. You're as much a dork as the rest of us." Bobby says, cupping his hands around his mouth to shout out towards the southerner before he gives Ororo a wave and a lob of snow in the teacher's direction, though it too misses its target and splats meekly on the ground at Ororo's feet.

Bobby wants to go say something to Elle, but finds he's having to stay near the others to keep them save and to keep creating new and more snow and ice to play with. Gotta keep the new muties in that happy mood and so he takes another snow ball and sends it through the air towards Rachel's direciton.
Ororo Munroe Ororo flashes a brilliant grin at Rogue and reaches halfway towards her, wriggling fingers in greeting in lieu of squeezing her TA's hand. "I am glad you like it," she informs Rogue with a pleased expression. "I found the fabric on sale and thought it would make a lovely dress."

Ororo's glacial blue eyes turn to the snowdrifts and she uplifts a chin at the piled whiteness as kids plow into it. "Who's idea was this? Bobby's?"

She waves encouragingly at Rachel and Elle as they skate past one another, looking pleased at the sight of the two younger women joining in the timeless fun of playing in the snowbanks.
Negasonic Really Ellie is staying away from the less adventurous kids, she doesn't know she is foiling Bobby there. She slides along.

Of course some of the students do try the ice... there .. hopefully isn't any concussions from this. Hell one kid actually produced ice skates from somewhere and goes sailing by.

"Aaand I know when I am outclasses..." she slidessss back to the snow "Hey Snowman.. can you make me a snow castle like that disney movie?" pause "You can be Olaf."
Rachel Grey Rachel might be using it more as training than fun, but at least she seems to be enjoying herself in the process. Bobby's snowball, along with several from the attacking students, splat against a TK field that leaves her tsking at the effort. "Come on, guys, you can do better than that!"

Or maybe they can't, because they're actually having fun and not war practice, but close enough. She does wave to Ororo as she catches sight of the other woman, leaning down to gather up a snowball.
Rogue Rogue smirks at Bobby's response. "I think both are equally disliked! Besides, what do you think the ice levels turn into!" She states back at him from her perch on the stone wall where she dangles her booted feet and gently sways them forward and back. Her eyes drift back to Storm and she smiles at her brightly. "Logan said he wants to steal me as a teaching assistant, by the way. But I told him no way, cause he'd make me do everything while he'd just sneak off and smoke cigars in the garage."

"Careful, Ellie. He's gonna hit with Dad jokes if ya say things like that to him." Rogue warns NTW just before that ice skating student sweeps past her again, its like he's mocking her! Damn those ice skaters, always mocking the ones who can't or unable to!

The kids do continue to run all around the Ice Level, and there is much snow fighting to be had. Rogue winces when one of the new kids takes a snowball right to the face and his glasses go flying off. "Ow, that one looked rough..."
Bobby     Bobby gives Rachel a finger held up, meaning he's taking a break and he's sliding over to Elle with a smile on his face as he holds out his hands to catch the girl as he goes past. "You want a snow castle Elle. You got it." As he's trying to pull her along the ice patch with the frozen powers propelling him at his feet and doing his best to help pull/propel the girl safely as well.

As they go past, Bobby compliments Storm. "Looking great as ever 'Ro." Bobby winks playfully before stopping at the edge of the skate rink/slip 'n' fall. "Now, about your castle, princess Elle." He smirks and starts to create a big ice structure that will rival the tower on the other side of the back yard.
Negasonic Ellie has no trouble with the assist there and she steps off the ice patch and watches Bobby work on her ice castle. "Hmmm not a snow castle but much more imposing... " she considers it slowly tilting her head and then points towards the ramparts. "Can you make it spikey on top where no one will actually fall and be impaled.. I want this thing to look like some dark lord of ice evil lives there."

Which is when she look at Bobby. "Not some princess." firm deadpan tone.
Rachel Grey Rachel is pretty bad at this whole having fun thing. Or rather, her definition of fun is a little more extreme than most, because on minute she was rolling up //a// snowball, and the next minute she has an entire fleet of them rolled up and hovering in the air around her like some sort of mad mage on a tear.

"Bombs away!" she declares, shooting the whole lot of them up into the air only to abandon control of them and let it rain snowballs upon the entire field of battle.

It's really a good thing that she's with the good guys.
Ororo Munroe Ororo flashes an appreciative smile at Bobby's compliment. "So kind of you, Mister Drake," she says, feigning an air of nonchalance utterly at odds with her smile. "When you know how to sew, you can make anything you like."

Ororo's attention transfers back to Anna-Marie. "Tell Logan if he /tries/ to steal you, I'll be quite cross. It's hard to find a good TA and he can't steal mine. If anything, he--"

Snow *plops* on Ororo's head, disappearing against the white field of her hair. With immense dignity, she brushes it away with a toss of her tight braids. "Rachel, please be a bit more care--" her words are drowned out as more snow explodes upwards, and she shrieks away a laugh and shields her bare head from the cascade of snowballs pelting the ground around her.
Rogue Rogue is watching Ororo and grinning at her when the snow hits the snow-white haired Teacher, which makes the Southerner raise her right hand up to cup her mouth in surprise at the display. She then looks over to the snow throwers and shakes her head right to left. "Someone's gonna get lightning'd in the Buuuuuutt now." She taunts the wildlings.

When her phone buzzes, she hops up off of the the stone wall and lands on her feet to pull it out of her pocket and glance down at it. "Sweet." She says to whatever was on the screen, then lifts her gloves up past her thumbs so she can more easily tap a response to whomever it is that texted her.

As she turns back around she eyes Bobby and Ellie. "Sith Lord, Ellie!" Rogue says then in her best Dark Evil Voice. "I'm gonna snap some pics'a this castle and put them up online, fair warning, Nega. Get some proof out there'a you havin' some fun..."
Bobby     "Okay your emenince." Bobby says with a smirk as the castle continues to grow under the influece of his hands and feet. "More evil, more spikey and more ... MORE!" Bobby starts to cackle mad with power or at least fun. "You're poultry offence couldn't possible piece castle... um.... Warhead." Not knowing what else to call the structure.

The ice man is just having a great time allowing the students and teachers to have a bit more carefree time on their Sunday than they usually get.
Negasonic I mean it is a holiday weekend and all. Shoudln't people be having a lot of fun. Also BBQs.. though this is like the reverse of a BBQ holiday event. Snow cones perhaps. Ice Cream... hmm

Ellie watches the castle be constructed and points a couple more spots out. "Definitely more evil and spikes... can never have too few spikes."

To Rogue "Do not make me come over there and zot your phone to bits Anna Marie." oo full name "Or post that video of you eating a whole container of cookie dough..." black mail as well. This is serious.
Rachel Grey "What's shameful about eating a whole container of cookie dough?" Rachel objects. "That's just a good time." As the snow rains down on Ororo, ahe raises her hands helplessly, giving her best innocent look. It's really not very good, but at least she's trying. Sort of. "Hey, you wander into a war zone, you have to be prepared."

She does at least give the destruction a break, though. Since not everyone sees everything as a potential war zone. Instead, she moves over toward Ororo, smile crooked. "Maybe we can skip the lightning retaliation, though?"
Ororo Munroe Ororo gives Rachel a gimlet look, but it's ruined by a fond smile. "I'll forego it. This time, I suppose," she concedes, feigning reluctance. It turns to a laugh almost warm enough to melt the snow (literally; the sun feels just a bit warmer on the skin for a moment). "Just promise you and Bobby will get all this into the meltwater before the day's done. If it melts here, it'll make the lawn into a mudpit and it'll take months to get it right again."

She leans forward and shakes the last of the snow out of her hair, then tosses it over her shoulder again.
Rogue Rogue just snickers at Ellie's response and has to shake her head. "Don't hurt mah phone." She pleads in a mocking sort of way before she makes sure its securely put away back into her pocket. "And I don't mind people seein' that video'a me eatin' cookie dough... the world only would be so lucky t'dream'a me covered in sweet cookie creation cream." And this response is punctuated with a big grin as she walks with a silly sway to her stride toward the steps up to the house. "Think I'll go find some more right now, in fact. Maybe make myself an ice cream cookie dough treat that'll rival the finest stores in town!"

And with that sway to her hips, Rogue saunters up the steps and then jumps up into the air and floats about fifteen feet to the middle of the patio. "Don't turn the yard into a mud pit!" She hollars loudly back over her shoulder as she goes!
Bobby     Bobby takes a moment to reenforce the structure of Elle's personal ice castle to make sure it's completely safe and then he gives Ororo a look. "Make sure Rogue sticks around to heft this thing into the lake and we'll be square." Bobby says as he takes shelter from the barrage of Rachel's onslaught.

"You good with your new ice palace? I'm gonna head out and make sure everyone else is having a good time too." Bobby says with a smile to Elle before he steps outside with his hands held up. "I surrender Rachel. Don't kill me."
Negasonic Ellie nods "I think I am all set now." she looks after Rogue "Well crap... fine and Bobby is right we will need a hand tossing this into the lake ... or something.. because all I can do it shatter it.. I mean I can blow it up..." she shakes her head and then grins at Bobby.

"Thanks snowcone" and then she is ducking into the fortress to survey it and also look down at the under classman from the ramparts.

It is a matter of time until the kids swarm this castle too.
Rachel Grey "How did I get volunteered to-" Rachel sighs, knowing very well that this is the price to pay for her snowball assault. "Yeah, I'll make sure the lawn isn't mud." She can't promise it won't also get baked, but hey, she'll try.
Ororo Munroe Ororo looks down at her feet and shifts, gathering her dress in one hand so the hem isn't getting soaked in the powdery drifts. She wiggles fingers farewell at Rogue as the mutant girl flies away, and looks back at Rachel, Bobby, and Ellie.

"Ideally," she says, carefully, "please clean up without destroying any of the landscaping-- or the windows." A brow lifts expectantly, but it's tempered with a warm smile and she pivots on her foot to head back up to the safety of the dry patio and the mansion beyond.
