Shannon      A few days had passed since the firefight in the warehouse, but one thing had stuck in Shannon's mind--who or what was the strange teenage boy who had been shot in the neck, with only fragments of light instead of blood to show for it? It had bothered her enough to finally speak to Sam about it, and the two agreed to come back and see if the boy was still there, and if so, see if he needed help.

Shannon's opted to go plainclothes for this one, just as she had the day of the arms deal, so if the boy was there he would recognize her, and perhaps not be frightened. She's got jeans and a t-shirt, and white sneakers on. Her jeans are, of course, different, the others having been ruined the other day by a stray bullet. She's got her wings drawn in behind her, but in a relaxed sort of way. "This is kind of a long shot, Sam... but at least we can try."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit and says "Pretty much yea, but you want to so lets do this "So whats your first step in trying to find him? Yes he is using this as a bit of a teaching tool and seeing how she investigates things.
Blurr     Yeah it is kind of a long shot, just going back to the same spot a few days later, but hey, she doesn't exactly have much else to go off of, right? But as luck would have it, the whole mutant idea has caught Blurr's attention. He has seen planets where the native population has outliers, like the ones on Cybertron, even though most of those were killed or worse in the metacycles preceding the second war.

Anyway, given how diverse outliers tended to be, he finds himself interested in finding out what they can do. So Shannon and Sam would eventually spot the teen from the other night standing in the window of one of those mutant-owned and mostly mutant-frequented cafes, watching them go about their business.
Shannon Shannon crosses her arms over her chest, pursing her lips as she considers what she'd do. She was decidedly the more inexperienced of the two, but at least this was far from a life-threatening situation--or so she hoped. "Two things. One, just look around the area. Two, check back inside the warehouse, and see if maybe anything was left behind where he was last seen that might give some sort of idea who this kid is." Her brows furrow slightly. "Though I've got my doubts much if anything at all will be in there."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie hmms and nods his head a bit tot his and says "Not bad, but there is something you might want to try besides just looking about, asking people if they might know a guy looks like, well like that." He points as he sees the kid
Shannon Shannon cracks a small smile. "Or Lady Luck could be on our side for once." Either things just got a lot simpler--or they were about to get complicated. She wasn't quite sure which, but as Sam said, asking people never hurt. And it seemed as if Fortune had smiled if only for a brief moment--who better to ask than the very source they were looking for? "Shall we?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods a bit to her, and says "Your leading the way this is your circus I am just the head clown." He tells her, ad he does follow her lead. He is keeping his eye on things to make sure it is safe, and is curious how this will all pan out.
Shannon Shannon chuckles lightly, and nudges Sam. "Pfft. You're no clown." As the pair approaches the boy, she offers a friendly smile. "Hi there." The best conversations usually began with a simple 'hello', right?
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie walks along with her, as they make their way up to meet the young man. He smiles a bit but keeps silent.
Blurr     The teen turns as Shannon greets him, and seems to recognize she and Sam from the other night. Although he appears normal at first glance, as they get a closer look at him, he seems almost...unrealistically perfect. Like, everyone knows even models on magazine covers don't -actually- look like that in real life, right?

"Hey." Brows go up as he appears a little surprised at her approach. "Did you...need something?" he questions.
Shannon Shannon glances quickly at the boy's neck, and... it's just too perfect. It's as if he was never shot. What was going on here? She keeps her empty hands in plain sight, hopefully managing to convey the idea that no harm was meant. "It got pretty chaotic the other night. We were hoping to find you, and make sure you were okay." A smile curls the corners of her mouth upwards, and she extends one hand. "My name's Shannon, and this is Sam. What's your name?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie will offer a nod in greeting and extends his hand to the other man offering it for a shake. "Hello." He says in greeting to the young man.
Blurr     Oh, yeah that girl with the wings. Blurr starts to scan the two of them. Hmmm. "Oh, well that's--very nice of you. You don't even know me." he remarks.

When they offer handshakes, he hesitates momentarily, but obliges anyway, taking Shannon's hand first, and then Sam's. They'll probably both notice that it doesn't really feel like a person's body at all. No warmth, no skin texture.

And yes, there's definitely no evidence whatsoever of the events of other night at the warehouse.
Shannon Shannon raises her eyebrows slightly, puzzled by the lack of texture and warmth in the boy's hand. Curiouser and curiouser, as Alice said once upon a time. "Maybe not. But there's been enough of decent folks getting hurt lately. And it's been bugging me that maybe you were one of the not so lucky ones." Glancing over at Sam, she purses her lips some and shrugs, almost imperceptibly.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie has felt someone's hand who probably felt similar in the past. He hmms softly and says "We were wanting to make sure you were ok, and maybe if you had time chat a bit. Would you like to go inside and get something to drink or eat?"
Blurr     "And how do you know I'm decent?" Blurr can't help but question, a brow quirked at her. Then he shrugs and smirks a little. "Well I'm glad you got that impression of me, anyway."

So, they want to chat. He can tell it isn't just random socializing they want. No, there's something intentional about this and he's interested in finding out what it is. Only there is a small problem...

"Uh, well if you guys are hungry, sure." the teen says, glancing into the cafe window. "I'm not, but we can chat if you want."
Shannon Shannon keeps her expression neutral, though heaven only knows what thoughts were running through her mind. No name, odd lack of skin texture, and lack of appetite? Something was definitely different here. Exactly what, however, remained to be seen for the moment. "Wherever's more comfortable for you, really. Either inside or out is fine." She smiles, and cants her head slightly. "Which would you like?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods, and will take note of the lack of introduction, and says "And is there something we can call you, besides hey you? We were hoping to possible make our self friend." He words the last bit a bit oddly but watches the young man for reaction to the term self friend.
Blurr     The avatar shrugs. "Sure, we can go inside, might be more comfortable." he says, heading for the door. Then Sam asks about a name. Ohh, right. He quickly scans the block--the first thing that comes up in the search is some place called 'Will's Laundromat'.

"Will." he answers as he enters the cafe. Then Sam uses English grammar wrong, and the reaction he gets is just a confused stare. "I--ummm--" Smelt it, what was this, another translator glitch?
Shannon Shannon says nothing about the confused look on 'Will's' face, and smiles softly. "This cafe looks pretty nice. Come on... it smells good, and even if you're not hungry, we could definitely use a bite to eat." Talk always seemed to happen easiest over a meal, that much she already knew. Hopefully, this would be little different. Turning towards the cafe, she opens the door, holding it open for Will and Sam.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie hmms and the guy does not seem to be talking the same way warlock did so maybe he aint a technorganic being like warlock. He will head inside picking a table, and says "Well a pleasure to meet you Will."
Blurr     'Will' follows Sam to a table and sits down. "Sure, if you guys want to eat, go ahead." He says, smiling politely. "Have you ever been here before?"
Shannon Shannon shakes her head, and smiles. "No, but there's no harm in trying out somewhere new." She slides into a chair, and has to spread her wings a little bit, to allow for the back of the chair against her. "I have to admit, it was kind of a shock to see you walk away from getting shot like that a few days ago. How are you feeling now?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods his head and says "Been here a time or two, but Ah have walked around town trying to get to know the area since I started working here. " He will order a Dr. Pepper for himself, and 2 root beers. He looks to Will, and says "Yes we wanted to make sure your ok.
Blurr     "Oh, yeah I'm fine." the teen nods quickly, seeming dismissive of the question. "Oh, so you work here?" he asks Sam, whilst watching Shannon adjust her wings so that she can properly sit down. "This place seems...different." he remarks.
Shannon Shannon doesn't bother trying to hide the smile of almost child-like delight at the simple treat of a root beer, raising her glass to Sam and 'Will' before taking a long pull of the stuff. She lets out a little sigh, ruffling her wings slightly. "Different, how? From your home?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "I run the club Evolution here in town, yes, if you don't mind us asking, where are you from?
Blurr     The 'teen' watches intently as the two enjoy the root beer. "Uh, well yeah but I meant more different from the rest of the city." he answers. "A lot of...strange people here? Like you, with the wings."

Then the question of where he's from. "I--um, Queens." he says quickly, then tries to change the subject. "So, I'm guessing there's something in particular you wanted to talk about?"
Shannon      Well, there was just no beating around the bush now. Shannon just hoped she didn't put her foot in her mouth with this one. She offers a light smile, and tilts her head slightly to one side. "Sort of. When you were shot, there was no blood. All I saw was what looked like bits of light coming from you. We were wondering if... well, if you were a bit different. Like us. And if you were, if maybe you needed or wanted help."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie 's brow raises a bit at the man not using the term mutant. He lets Shannon talk to the other man sitting back siping his drink
Blurr     The avatar nods. "I figured you must have noticed by now." he responds. "I have a feeling this isn't the first time you've approached someone." he remarks. "So--what, do you go around looking for other ou--er, mutants like you? Do you run some kind of organization that trains or whatever?"
Shannon Shannon grins a little sheepishly. "If the truth be told, this would be a first for me, at least. But I've had to learn the hard way that the world isn't always kind to those who are different." No, she's not blind to the hesitation and near-misstep committed by 'Will'. But neither does she make a big thing of it. "It may seem weird to some, but friends have been kind to me, so I guess you could say we were hoping to help out, too." She glances over at Sam and raises her eyebrows slightly.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie says, "My club is part of a new organization called X-corp, we are seeking to help mutants find their way in life, learn to use their abilities, find jobs that their abilities might make more fitting for them, and such. Hoping to help the neighborhood, and people in it. But from what you have said, I would say your own abilities are not mutant based. We will help others as well, who are in need of help."
Blurr     "X-corp, huh?" Blurr listens to Sam's description, thinking that it sounded a lot like something Shockwave founded a looong time ago. Before the planet was consumed by war, and before he got shadowplayed, of course. Well if the rumors were true, anyway. "Oh? You don't think I'm one of you?" he asks, sounding a bit surprised at that statement. He glances out the window at the parking lot outside momentarily.
Shannon Shannon shakes her head. "We're not quite sure if you're one of us. The question is, though, what?" She raises her hands and smiles. "And whatever that might be... it'd be nice if we could maybe make a new friend."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie shakes his head, and says "Not really, at least not any more, you sound more like someone who is observing something new. Ah believe you maybe something somewhat like us, but if Ah had to guess, I would say from outside normal culture. Mind you that is ok, someone I consider a close friend is from outside normal culture." He hmms and ponders should he try it. What the heck "Bah-weep-Graaaaagnah wheep ni ni bon" He mangles the pronoucation a bit but it can be understood.
Blurr     Blurr studies them, considering their words. Hah, yeah...outside normal culture would be -one- way of putting it. Maybe these Terrans are more perceptive than he thought. He arches as brow at Sam. "Yeah? And what made you think that?"

Then he starts reciting the universal greeting. Primus, he hasn't heard that one in... a long time, especially given his kind's rather lackluster relations with the rest of the galaxy. So it comes as a surprise to hear it on this somewhat backwater planet, of all places. "Where'd you hear that one?" he asks.
Shannon Shannon just turns and looks at Sam, her jaw dropping, and then at Blurr. "Ummmm, okay. What did you two just say?" It was such a universal greeting, apparently, that the teen had zero clue about what it was, or any customs surrounding it. Well, at least it seems to have finally broken the ice! She tries the words, but it comes out horribly mangled the first time, much to her embarrassment. "Never mind, I'll have to try that one later."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "Ok, so extraterrestrial, was thinking either that or someone who was created here. Ah have a few friends who are from off world, and have been so myself a few times. Ah actually learned it from a friend who is a master of languages, but he learned it from a mutual friend. Our friend is a member of a race that has a bad rep out there Ah believe, but he is a good guy, opposed to alot of his race.
Blurr     "Extraterrestrial? No way, I'm from here, I've been here all my life. I just heard it from a friend of a friend of a friend, too." The teen says quickly, glancing between the two of them.

Though, he can't help but become curious about this mutual friend Sam is talking about. "Oh, what kind of person is this mutual friend?"
Shannon Shannon raises her eyebrows at Sam, very curious to hear the answer to this one. Too, she gives Blurr a look and just shakes her head a little. Oh yes, there was definitely more to this one than outward appearances would suggest. And, unless she missed her guess, it probably had to do with whatever friend or race Sam was talking about. "I'm kind of curious about that one, too."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie will look at the man and hmms and says "Well if you have been here your whole life Ah doubt you would know of them,." He will name the section of space of Warlock's people are mainly around. " He will study the man and says "He was a bit different than us though, machine based life form."
Blurr     Oh, Blurr knows that sector, but he tries not to show it. And by Sam's description, he's pretty sure he knows who this is that the Terran is talking about. It seems Warlock gets around, doesn't it? Well, given what he saw him do with that crazy portal magic thing, perhaps it shouldn't come as a surprise.

But outwardly, he just shrugs. "Right. Uh--yeah. Sounds like an...interesting person."
Shannon Shannon just smiles to herself. The more she had thought about the fight at the warehouse, the more certain she'd become that this young man was not quite what he seemed. As she and Sam continued to talk to him, she grew even more certain. But there seemed little point in pressing matters for the moment, and she sits back in her chair a bit, idly twirling the straw in her glass of root beer. "I wonder if your friend and Sam's friend are the same, or at least know about each other. Are we talking about the same friends who taught you both the tongue-twister greeting?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie will look over to Shannon "Well Doug taught me, and Lock. taught him. " He will tell her not seeing a problem letting the names be known . Lock is a very interesting person, Ah wish he was around more, but Ah believe he is more seeing the world now. To be honest, I thought you might have been him for a bit." He tells "Will"
Blurr     Lock? Right, Warlock. So, it was definitely Warlock they were talking about. Small galaxy, it seems. 'Will' peers at Shannon for a moment. Oh, right he lied about that part too. He shrugs. "I don't know, it was a long time ago."

Then a brow goes up at the idea that he may have been mistaken for Warlock. "I look that much like him?"
Shannon Shannon shrugs, and smiles at Blurr. "Wouldn't know the answer to that one. Till just now, I'd never even heard of this Warlock. And how long ago was a long time?" She peers curiously at Sam, as it was pretty clear to her that he was more in the know than she was. This was indeed going to be quite the learning experience!
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie looks tot he man, and says "Not so much you look like him, but he could look like you if he wished to." He will tell the man "So, care to tell us your story? HOw you came about being here?" Sam believes the guy might be fibbing some but aint sure.
Blurr     "Oh, a shapeshifter huh?" Blurr says, then wonders if perhaps they are not thinking of the same person after all. But then again, he didn't really know too much about the guy. Ah well.

"Uh..." As they start questioning him, he starts trying to come up with some slag or other. "I dunno, it was years ago." he answers Shannon, again being vague. "'Here' as in Bushwick?" he asks Sam. "I mean, I just thought I'd check it out. Like I said, I'm from--Queens."
Shannon Shannon purses her lips and seems to consider everything she's heard for a moment. Just because 'Will' was from Queens now, and just because he -might- have been around his whole life, doesn't mean that he was mutant, and with everything she'd seen so far, possibly not even human. But the question remained... "Just out of sheer curiosity, if you're not like us..." She extends her wings a little bit. "...then what are you?" There. The die was cast.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie will wait for the answer but he is pretty sure the other man is not comfortable telling them the truth. He knows what that can be like, and will pull out a card with his number via the club on it, while listening.
Blurr     "You're the ones saying I'm not like you." The teen says with a shrug. "So maybe I should be the one asking -you- that question. If you're convinced I'm not one of you, then what do you think I am?" he questions, truly interested in the answer as well.
Shannon Shannon shrugs. "That's just it. We don't know." She sighs softly, rubbing her temples a little bit. "I didn't mean any insult by it... I'm sorry." She falls silent, looking more than a little bit embarrassed, with her cheeks starting to go a wee bit rosy.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie looks to the man and offers him the card. "X-corp is as Ah said trying to help people mutants and others. If you find yourself in need of help and or want to talk to more about thinks you may have encountered hopefully you will feel you can trust us to talk.
Blurr     "Oh, not insulted, I was just genuinely wondering, that's all." Blurr says smiling a little to try to ease the tension as he willingly takes the card and nods. "Thanks, you guys seem like decent people. Maybe I will stop by sometime."

There's a pause, and he looks out the window to the parking lot again. "Well I guess at this point you've kind of earned it." He points at a wall-mounted television showing news footage of Trask Industries and some new Sentinels being rolled out. "Basically like one of those, if they were smart enough to actually be alive."
Shannon      For a brief moment, Shannon tensed, not even so much as a feather ruffling. She grew very, very silent, the color fading from her face and leaving her white as a sheet. Then she simply nods, taking a few deep breaths and smiling. Like a Sentinel, but thank the gods, not -actually- one. Curiosity began to override lingering fear; one is left to wonder if she had a close encounter with the Sentinels. "Heh... so offering a soda really was kind of silly, wasn't it?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie hmms and looks over at the man, and will ask "Cybertronian?" He has had a little experience with them, and it is the only other giant robots he knows that are sentient.
Blurr     Blurr chuckles, and looks a little surprised. "You're smarter than you look, it seems." he remarks when Sam makes the guess. A brow is arched at Shannon's fearful gaze, though. "Oh, is that what that was?" he asks when she mentions the soda. "You okay, though?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods a bit and says "Have encountered your kind before and from what Ah was told the sentinels were made by studying your kind against the will of your kind, so Ah can see why you would hide what you are.
Shannon Shannon nods, and smiles a little bit more. "Recent encounter with Sentinels. It did not go well." She goes silent for several long moments, biting her lower lip. "I wish there never had to be hate just for someone being a little different. Guess we all have to be the change we want to see in the world, though." She looks squarely at 'Will', tilting her head to the side. "That's why we were trying to find you. We didn't know who or what you were, and if you were in danger like that." She motions briefly to the television. "There was one I couldn't help. It was too late for them. But if there was any chance of helping you, it was a chance that had to be taken."
Blurr     Really? Hm. "Somehow that doesn't surprise me." Blurr says when Sam reveals the Sentinels were reverse-engineered from someone. He absently wonders who.

"Heh, people will always find a reason to hate others who they're jealous of, or who cross them, or who challenge the status quo and therefore their power over the things they're so used to having control of. So it's not so much because you're different, but because they can't control you."

"If they could control you, if they could create you and pump you out of factories with just the features they want like they do those Sentinels," he shrugs. "I bet they'd love you." he adds a bit sarcastically. "Trust me, Earth isn't the only place where that kind of thing has happened."
Shannon Shannon raises her eyebrows a bit, and nods in understanding. On impulse, she reaches over to very gently rest her hand on 'Will's', her voice gone soft. "I'm sorry." It was plain to see he'd experienced the same pain and frustration, if perhaps in somewhat different fashion. She smiles a bit, and chuckles lightly. "Good thing they broke the mold when they made us, hmm?" Her smile widens, almost a grin, as she looks over at Sam. "World could only handle one of you, anyways," she teases. "Or of me."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Well we already have two Sams." He jokes with her a bit, but looks over to Blurr, and says "May I ask what brought you to earth? I have been to a few other planets, but must admit here was the only place I have met your kind.'
Blurr     The avatar stares awkwardly down at Shannon's hand as she reaches out. Well, that was...unexpected. "Uh, well--none of it was your fault." Obviously, since much of it probably happened long before humans even walked the Earth.

"Oh, just a ship that went missing a while ago suddenly popped up here, that's all." Blurr tells Sam. "Can't tell you much else about though, so I hope that's enough."

"Anyway, thanks for the chat. Maybe I will stop by this X-Corp place sometime." he says with a smile, and then--the image just disappears, as if he had never been there to begin with. Apparently, it was some kind of projection.
Shannon Shannon sits back and smiles some, drawing her hand away. "It was really good to meet you. I hope you wno't be a stranger." She seems to have relaxed, with the last vestiges of fear in her expression fading. "It'd be sad to lose track of a new friend so soon."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie hmms a bit and does not seem totally surprised at the this "Hmmms, hologram, has to be maybe a force field based one to give it substance." He does start to look around, trying to see if he can see any hint of what might be the real "Will." He looks over to "Well that went better than expected but Ah will admit, was not thinking Alien, till he started sounding like an observer of the human and mutant race."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "A bit less menacing than the last one of his people I met.
Shannon Shannon nods, and smiles some. "I wasn't sure what to make of him before we got to talk to him. But I'm glad we did. Who knows... possibly a new ally?" She settles back in her chair, enjoying the last few sips of root beer, with a little bit of a slurp. "It's sad hate seems to be a universal misfortune. But at least no matter who or what we are, none of us have to face it alone."
Blurr     Well, since Sam was looking...there -is- the sound of screeching tires as a rather interesting looking car zooms out of the parking lot and onto the street. Interesting as in it looks like a custom or a concept or something.
Shannon Shannon nods, the sound of screeching tires catching her attention. Her eyebrows go up as she looks between the car speeding away, then at Sam, then at the car again. It seems there really was more than meets the eye to some.
