Carol Danvers There's no real telling what time it is in space without a clock, and while those are liberally installed throughout the station it can become a matter of 'who says?' very quickly. That is why Carol Danvers has opted to eat lunch at two-thirty in the morning, sitting alone at a table before the giant viewport that shows Earth and North America's west coast far below.

In front of her is a small ceramic tray of assorted makizushi and a tablet computer. She scrolls through the contents thoughtfully, news articles about a fire in southern Florida, and frowns to herself. She doesn't look up from the screen as she captures one of the little rolls between the ends of a pair of chopsticks, bringing it up to her mouth and polishing it off in a single bite.

Kara Danvers No unagi shall go uneaten, not on Kara Zor-El's watch.

Or, dare I say it...

SUPERGIRL's?! For yes, the maiden of might had a tray of colorful pieces of fish and rice upon a tray. Carol was sitting alone? This looks like a job for...!

"Hey, Captain," says Supergirl, moving to slide her butt into the tray as she looks into the viewscreen as well. Kara, being a heathen, was using her fingers to eat the sushi, popping it into her mouth. And she was snooping, reading over shoulders and everything.

"...wow, that was quite a fire that happened in Florida. I should have maybe gone over there, but I was busy with something up near Starling. I wonder how Superman keeps an eye on literally everything ever, right?" she says, glancing out into space as she pops some food into her mouth.
Grail There's an odd crackling sound that comes from within the very Hall that Carol and Kara occupy. A moment later the blast of a boomtube causes wind to whip up for a moment even as the swirling vortex opens up. With a few steps, out pops the woman known as Grail, her eyes going around the room from under the grey hood she wears. The red glow falling upon the place before skating over to the pair of Kara and Carol.

From within the shadow of the hood, the glowing orbs focus on Kara first as the figure then becomes to walk purposefully toward her and the hands under the cloak clench into fists as she approaches.
Mon-El     Lar has stopped by the Alpha Flight station after some rather troublesome events in space that left him in not the best of moods. He was looking for some of that Terran chow to maybe raise his spirits even a little bit, but the sight of Kara is more than enough to do that.

He was making her way over to her and Carol when Grail suddenly shows up. He stops, glaring at the woman. Seriously? Why does she have to show up like -everywhere- he goes? "You again?!" he practically shouts, whirling about to face her. "Have you been following me or what?"
Carol Danvers For all the severity of the dour and focused expression on Carol's face, it fades away to be replaced by a light smile when she hears Supergirl's voice and lifts her head to watch her approach.

"Hi," she says warmly, straightening out her collection of things on the table so as to give the Maiden of Might plenty of space for her own tray, elbows, and anything else. The mention of the fire drains some of the energy out of that smile almost immediately, gaze turning to stare out the viewport instead, "Yeah. It was a bad one."

The sudden draft of wind - on a vacuum-sealed space station, no less - immediately grabs her attention. She rises slowly from her seat as Grail appears and begins to approach, shoulders squared and features stern. She glances briefly in Mon-El's direction, but quickly shifts focus back to the unannounced visitor. When she speaks, all the softness and conversational tone she had with Supergirl is gone, replaced by a harsh officer's bark.

"That's far enough."
Kara Danvers Supergirl could be a little... well... she was one of those that charged forward even in the face of everything. So she could miss little details sometimes. But she did not miss that change in Carol's expression, her brow furrowing as she mentions the fire. And for a moment, Kara seemed to mull over her thoughts.

And she was taking up space - spreading out her drink of water and her sushi up into that space that Carol provides for her. She needed a lot of room!

With that rush of wind, though, she doesn't quite comment on Carol's statement, the brief trouble on her features turning into something else.

Her first thought was that the window or something blew, and most of the people here couldn't breathe in space like her! So she'd have to woosh to help! She was standing up straight and turning, her eyes briefly glancing to Mon-El - when she notices how Grail was approaching. Jaw clenches, and she lifts her chin, staring straight back at her fearlessly. She was noticing how Grail was looking at her.

And perhaps, the sigil upon her chest.
Grail Stopping, it seems Carol's actions did stop her. She turns to stare at her, watching her a moment before she narrows her eyes and pushes her hood back. She glares at Carol a long moment before looking over to Supergirl, "I don't know who you are but I have no business wiht you." She points at Carol while staring at Kara, "I have business with her." She then looks briefly to Mon-El before shaking her head, "I care not where you go."
Mon-El     "Then why do you keep -showing up- everywhere I go?" Lar grumbles. But he makes no further aggressive actions and just folds his arms, looking indignant. Right 'business'. He'll just have to see where this goes.
Carol Danvers "It doesn't matter who your business is with, sunshine," Carol says coldly, even going so far as to take a step in front of Kara, "I'm the commander of this station and if you're going to swan in here unannounced and stare daggers at my people, you're going to answer to me,"

It isn't as though Carol thinks Supergirl really needs her protection. She's almost certain that the Kryptonian is even stronger than she is, and certainly possessed of a few more tricks up her sleeve. She points sidelong at Mon-El, not taking her eyes off Grail.

"You. Stay where you are." She can see he isn't being outwardly hostile, but better to be safe than sorry.

"We are in orbit on a station with over a hundred non-metahuman staff aboard," she explains slowly, evenly to Grail, "You need to stop where you are and state your business. Everyone needs to take it easy."
Kara Danvers "She's the boss around here," says Kara, folding her arms in front of herself, something that increases just how tough she looks in this moment, lifting her chin up to look towards the hulking Grail then. And then, she keeps her jaw tight, her eyes flickering to Mon-El when Carol speaks in his direction.

"Yes," she says.

"If you're trying to leave a good impression, this isn't how to do it," she chimes in in support of what Carol says.

She wasn't a good military person. She kinda was a civilian, still, after all.
Grail A look over to Carol and she glares at her, "You are in charge here? Than you can speak on her behalf." She takes a couple of steps forward, "Where is Kal-El? Where is the one known as Superman?" She asks and looks toward Supergirl, "She wears the symbol I have seen that represents this man upon your planet."

She then looks back to Carol and clenches her fists tightly, "And that one." She points a past her toward Mon-El, "Is the one who told me to find him here. Now, I have been very patient for the man who has supposedly sought me out. The one who calls me here. Now, where is he?"

She then looks over at Supergirl and squints at her, "What do you know of the impression I wish to leave?"
Carol Danvers "Oh, you're looking for Superman," Carol says, at once seeming relaxed as she slaps her thigh and breathes a sigh of relief, "Why didn't you say so? He's just over there by the waffle bar with Batman and Captain America."

Captain Marvel points a finger towards the chow line which is, obviously, bereft of people save one very confused and panicked looking short-order cook holding both arms aloft - one still holding a spatula. Carol takes a few steps closer to Grail, still keeping herself between her and Supergirl.

"He's not here," she says, her tone once again sharper and colder, "But if you're looking, I'm sure someone can get him the message. The proviso being you need to get off my station."
Kara Danvers "Yeah, you're looking for the Justice League station," says Kara to Grail, bringing up her hand to push through her hair.

"Although what would Superman want with you?" she asks. "You say he called you, but..." Supergirl doesn't seem to have issue with Marvel stepping between herself and Grail afterwards. Although at what she says...

"What!" she says in disbelief, her own head looking to turn towards the chow line, her eyes glancing up and down the same.
Grail She grits her teeth and they grind a little. Grail glares at Carol and she's very tempted to test this woman's authority. She grinds her foot to the right and when she does, the floor beneath her can be heard whining under the movement. She looks down and takes in a deep breath, "I am growing tired of being given the run around." She looks to Mon-El and glares at him, "Maybe I should go. Perhaps see what your people are up to, see if they need another beating." She smirks and chuckles before she looks back to Carol, "I will go but..."

She looks to Supergirl and points at her, "We will have words before long. I will also find this Justice League station..." She then grins slowly, "And I hope that he is there." She then turns and points her hand and a boom tube opens, "For the sake of that station and those aboard it." She then starts toward the tube and turns her gaze back to Carol, "I leave your station in peace..." She then looks forward, "If you see Superman, tell him that Grail is here." Her eyes glow briefly before she moves into the portal.
Mon-El     Lar's fists clench as Grail keeps on threatening people, and is starting to wonder if it had been a mistake to heed Kal's request about her earlier. He has been acting off lately...thankfully, she makes her exit before he ends up doing anything foolish.

"Kal said something about a dark force trying to keep her a secret from him." he says in response to Kara's question. "And that was why we needed to find her. Wasn't exactly very specific about why." he shrugs.
Carol Danvers "Your cousin stirs up a lot of trouble for someone who seems so nice," Carol tells Kara out of the side of her mouth, arms still folded and expression still stern, "All that business in Metropolis? Now he's summoning warrior women from beyond the moon. Maybe you two need to talk."

There's a pause, before she adds: "I'll come with you, if you need me to."

She remains stalwart as she watches Grail go, nodding her head in agreement. Yes, if she sees Superman, she'll certainly mention the hooded terror that is seeking him out. When Lar begins speaking, she turns her head to face him and maintains that whip-sharp expression.

"What are you doing pointing someone like that at my station? Are you a maniac? There are people here!"

Carol turns, gesturing to both Supergirl and Mon-El. Her expression has softened a little, but her brow is still wrung with concern: "We all need to talk."
Kara Danvers "Well, we can have words anytime!" Supergirl calls out to Grail.

"Just not here, alright? I would have thought you would have found Superman by now!" she calls. The mistake, perhaps. As it was Kara whom Grail was bullying earlier to get the first bit of information that might have led her here.

Shame on bullies.

"Well, we found her," she says to Mon-El. "So we probably should figure out why, or she'll probably start getting crabby. I'd get crabby too if I was called somewhere and people didn't know why," she says.

"And you can, Captain," Kara says, her lips pursing thoughtfully now. "Maybe we should. I haven't spoken to Kal in a long long time by now," she says.

A hand comes up, pushing her long blond hair over her shoulder. "Sorry. So it's probably my fault she's here," she says. "It's not Lar's fault, I think," she says, kinda squinting at Mon-El. "... is it?"
Mon-El     "I didn't tell her to come -here- specifically!" Lar says defensively when Carol starts calling him a manaic. He sighs. "Look, I was just trying to help Kal, okay? He really seemed to be in a bad way. I just wasn't sure what -else- to do with what he told me. It was all Source Walls, and other magic nonsense stuff I have no idea about."

He plops down at one of the tables in the mess hall, looking frustrated. "Yes, it is my fault. I told her to find Kal. But I didn't know she was such a jerk. Again, didn't know what else to do to help him."
Carol Danvers Carol settles down a little now that Grail has departed. She sits back down in her own seat, but not before turning to give Supergirl a quick once over and ensure she's alright. It's nothing more than a quick glance and a 'you good?' raise of her eyebrows.

"Look, it's nobody's fault," Carol says, breathing out as the tension begins to bleed from her, "If Superman called her here, then it seems like that's who needs to find her."

A pause, she lifts a hand to pinch the bridge of her nose, "I'm sorry, Lar. It's not your fault. It's nobody's fault. Besides, she's gone, and we aren't dealing with a hole in the wall. I think we're fine."
Kara Danvers "Well, it's somebody's fault!" enthuses Supergirl.

"And I'm gonna get to the bottom of it!" she exclaims. "Although... maybe after I finish my sushi," she says. "Superman can be really hard to get ahold of so I don't really... get upset at her," she says. A brief, toothy smile is Kara's return to that look from Carol.

"But if he wants me to like... tell her something," Supergirl says. "He should pass that along," she says.

And so she finishes her grousing session with a gesture to the chow line. "Get some sushi, Lar! It's good stuff. Fish!" she says.
Mon-El     "Oh, really. You didn't seem convinced of that just now." Lar responds when Carol says it's no one's fault. He exhales audibly and rests his head on a hand. "At least she didn't tear everything apart like she did last time. Well ok, time before last." Meaning the time she tried to kill his mom. Not that he's on the best of terms with -that- woman either.

He shakes his head at Kara. "I dunno, not exactly in the mood any more. But I'm sure it's good." Yeah, he hasn't been in a good mood for well, a while.
Carol Danvers "I'm sorry," Carol says to Lar suddenly, eyes narrowing, "Did you want the flow of conversation to go back in the direction of flushing you out the nearest airlock?"

Though her temper gets away from her, she quickly reins it in and shakes her head. She pushes the half-eaten contents of her tray away, scoops up the tablet in her hand and rises to her feet. She glances at the screen momentarily, the burning patch of the Florida Everglades still flickering on the screen.

"I've gotta go," she says flatly, looking between the pair before she stalks off towards the corridor.
Kara Danvers With her fingers popping the remaining bits of sushi into her mouth, Kara looks after the other two.

"Well, you've actually talked to Kal," she says to Lar. "So maybe go talk with him again, and see what he wants with her?" she asks, although - it was hard for Kara to stay bishy. Especially with Carol getting bishy.

"Wait!" she says, kinda lifting up off of the ground, and hovering after Carol.

"Are you alright, captain?" she asks, glancing back over her shoulder to Mon-El. Maybe it was something one of them said?

That fire picture hadn't quite clicked in her mind yet. Maybe when she thinks on it again.
Mon-El     A brow goes up when Carol snaps back at him. "You got a problem, -Captain-?" he snarks right back. But then seems to calm down again when Carol suddenly decides to leave. Clearly Lar isn't the only one in a bad mood today.

He shrugs. "I mean, I guess I could--but not sure what else he's going to say. I don't think he actually -knows-, himself." he says, shaking his head. "Like I said, a bunch of weird magic stuff."
Carol Danvers "Listen, you skid," Carol begins, whirling around on her heels and raising a finger to point aggressively at Lar. All at once the carefully moderated 'general American' accent melts away to be replaced with her native Bostonian twang, "If some pi - "

But then Kara is there, asking her what is wrong. She sighs, looks down at the tablet, and then just passes it to her. On the screen, the fire still burns in the video embedded in a news article. Both her hands now free, she raises them like she's surrendering and turns back around.

"I'm fine. Absolutely fine. Have a great night."

That said, she dips into the corridor and takes off at a power walk.
Kara Danvers And Kara remains hovering there, a somewhat lost look on her features as she turns around, looking between Carol and Mon-El again. "Well, see if I invite you anywhere again," she says, sticking out her lower jaw as she hovers off again.

She was going to go to her room.

And listen to her angry music. Alone.

And probably go lazer eyes some muggers or something soon.
Mon-El     Lar glares at Carol as she goes right back to her temper tantrum, but she doesn't even finish it before storming off, claiming she's 'fine'. So he doesn't get a chance to throw a comeback at her.

He rolls his eyes. "'Fine', yeah -right-. Whatever," he mutters. Then Kara yells at him too? What is with women these days, anyway? Oh, maybe she's still mad at him for ruining that one night with Haytham and Karen. Sigh.
