Owner Pose
Venandi     The night lights of the city was all the illuminated the evening. No moon in the sky and heavy clouds even blocked the stars above.

One man walked alone, ever now and then looking over his shoulder, seeming unsteady, uneasy. As he walked around the corner between two buildings he came to a dead stop.

That very man started to back up, as a low his escaped from the darkness and sneering feminine like voice spoke to him. Gold, raptor eyes peering out from the shadows. "You lied." The creature snarled out, showing off her razor fang teeth in the dark. "You tried to trick, but now, you will be the hunted!"

"I swear! I swear the information was good!" The man said, almost tripping over his own feet, then trying to make a break for it. However, before he could get far, the raptor humanoid leapt out with predatory efficiency and slammed him down to the ground. Her hand slamming his head into the concert street floor, as she kneeled down letting out a raptor-like hiss. "Not. Good. Enough."
Mon-El     Lar is walking around Harlem at night, hands shoved into his pockets and thinking about how he needs to come up with some kind of apology for Kara due to some of his recent behavior. It had been a rough month or so, but every way he could think of to start the conversation just sounded awkward or plain insensitive. And then, there was the whole dilemma with his brother and what to do about him. Ugh. Sigh.

As distracted with his own thoughts as he is, he definitely still picks up on the man's distressed cries. In a flash and a blur of motion, he is suddenly standing there in front of them, arms crossed with his gaze fixed on the humanoid raptor. "Hey, what's the problem here?" he asks, his voice commanding.
Venandi     The scent. The smell. It was foreign. It was unknown. Before Venandi could register what it was, the man was suddenly already there. She kept the poor soul under her, her tail thrashed, as her teeth snarled their rows of sharp edges. "Leave." She warns in turn, unaware just what she was about to deal with.

The poor man under her, in near tears says quiet clearly, "I don't want to die! Please help! She is going to eat me!" It was true, she was actually planning on doing that-- eventually.

As the man begged, she growled at him and snapped her teeth at his ear. "No courage! No honor! Snake of a man you are!" Her eyes though quickly looked back at Mon-El, just to see what he was going to do.
Mon-El     "-Answer- the question." Lar insists, taking a step closer. "What. Is the problem here?" he says, more slowly this time. "Don't make me hurt you." The Daxamite threatens, his eyes glowing that crimson red color typical of his type when they are about to fire thermal vision.
Venandi     The eyes glow red and instinctively the female raptor actually backs off. At this moment, Mon-El was coming across as the bigger predator.

This means the man could get up and he does, making a run for it behind a parked card.

Venandi grows in frustration, but she backs up still. Staying low and her eyes locked on those glowing, red eyes. "None of your concern." She growls out. "He is free now. Safe. Happy now?"
Mon-El     Lar relaxes when she finally gets off of the man and he runs off. He scans the body briefly, seeing that he is mostly fine, then relaxes a bit, the glow fading. "Ha. Yes, actually." he replies to the question, smirking slightly. "See? Now that wasn't so hard. Glad you're one of the smart ones."
Venandi     The raptor humanoid stays locked on him. Her nostrils flare in frustration. She glanced him over, taking in his face, his body, anything she can judge off this strange man.

She didn't move, but her stance became defensive, even as she stood up fully. Her left large claw tapped the ground in thought. Could she hurt this man? Could he hurt her worse? How did he get here so quickly?

Her head tilts gently and sniffs the air, as her mouth opens slightly to inhale. Remembering his scent. "... What are you?" She asks, her tail flicking once as she continues to study him.
Mon-El     Lar looks, for all intents and purposes, like a human. Well, aside from the glowing eyes just now. However, he definitely has a different scent, one she has never smelled before.

Despite her taking a defensive stance, he doesn't seem to be planning for a fight at all. Instead, he just kind of leans casually against the wall of one of the buildings surrounding the alley they were in. "What does it look like." he replies to her question.
Venandi     "Don't know. You don't smell normal. Unnatural." Is all the raptor can explain. Her eyes quickly lock onto the man who at last ran out from behind the car and just bolted off.

She growled in frustration as her hunt has been forced to an end and this-- strange man was all th interference. "I am no fool." She says calmly. "Unnatural means unknown. Unknown means... You are a danger to fight... Even if you ruined my hunt." She lets out a slight raptor growling rumble.

Venandi then goes to turn away, to head back into the shadows. "Next time. He might not /be/ so lucky... and it might not be from me he has to worry about."
Mon-El     "Like I said, I'm glad you're one of the smart ones." Lar reiterates, his gaze momentarily darting over to the car when the man gets up and finally runs off.

He smirks when she tries to slink off into the shadows. There's a bit of a rush of air and another blur of motion, and he's suddenly in front of her. "Oh, and why might that be?" he asks.
Venandi     How quick he moved, it was-- mind-boggling. The Raptor was now officially confused. Her eyes blink a few times and she gives a snort out of her confused state.

She doesn't answer though and instead decides to see if she can /even/ try to get away from this strange, strange man. She leaps up with a powerful jump, grabbing a railing of one fire escape, before pushing off to the rooftop, flipping herself over the building edge and onto the flat roof.

About then, Venandi goes to look down to where the man /should/ be, as if checking to see if he is still there.
Mon-El     Nope, Lar is definitely not down there. There was another whoosh, and he's suddenly in the air. And now he's standing on the roof behind her as she is looking down to see if he's still down on the ground. "Looking for me?" he chuckles. "Why won't you answer any of my questions?"
Venandi     The strange man was suddenly behind her and it nearly made her fall off, she was quick and out of natural reaction, she spun around and went to claw his face.

Her hand paused, almost like when a cat knows they are about to make a mistake. She snarled and her muzzle showed off those rows of sharp teeth. "You did not answer mine. I will not answer yours." She says firmly with her eyes narrowing.
Mon-El     When she goes to claw at him, Lar tips back a bit, though it wasn't needed as she stops short suddenly. "You really are a smart one, aren't you?" he remarks. "You almost didn't give me any time to warn you."

He shrugs. "Fine." It's not as if he has anything to hide. "I'm Daxamite." he answers. "Now. Your turn."
Venandi     "... Daxa--mite?" Vendandi replies, seeming confused more then she was. She huffs to the side, with a low growl, followed by a few raptor clicks down deep in her throat. Yep. That didn't tell her much of anything.

"Information. He gave me a bad information. He knew the price for double crossing my family. That price is blood." She says coldly. Her tail sways softly. "I do not like my time wasted. Every moment counts and that moment was wasted cause of his lies." She tilts her head faintly, "... Does that answer your question, Daxamite?"
Mon-El     Lar rolls his eyes. "There it is, the typical 'this guy betrayed me, or my family, or both, or something, therefore he needs to die'. Pfff." he shakes his head.

"Seriously, what IS it with people like you and somehow being convinced that killing people who kill, or killing people who just piss you off, or whatever, is going to make you feel better? Or benefit you in any way at all. You hate that they hurt or killed people, so you do it back to them, successfully perpetuating the very thing you're supposedly punishing them for. It's so irrational it's almost hilarious."
Venandi     Her eye are dead pan as sahe listens to him talk and she responds back with a dead pan tone. "You know nothing. It is not out of anger, but sworn duty." The raptor explains with a shake of her head. "I care not for revenge, only that duty and following the law of my alpha is followed."
Mon-El     "Oh is that right?" Lar questions, arching a brow at her. "Care to enlighten me, then? Tell me, what is this 'duty' to an alpha you're talking about? This 'law'? Who is your alpha?"
Venandi     The raptor growls and then narrows her eyes. "That is not for you to know, Daxamite." She says calmly, but with an annoyed tone. She then goes to step back toward the edge. "I answered your question. You answered mine. Let us call that even. At least. Till we meet again."

Then with that, she allows herself to fall back and then-- seems to vanish! Ninjas be slippery when they are forced to be.
