Barbara Gordon They say the Batman is gone.

The people who say that, however, are wrong.

As night falls over Gotham, the shadow of the Bat descends upon Coventry. Behind the police tape still laid out across the yard where the Sororiety sisters were kidnapped, the shadowy figure of the Batman rises out of her crouch to look over crime scene for any evidence the GCPD might have missed.

Those familiar with Batman might recognize instantly that this person is shorter, not nearly as bulky, but few have seen him up close enough to make those kinds of distinctions in the dark. "Record everything." The voice is heavily auto-tuned to weed out any femininity to her voice. "Case file: Zombie dot one zero one seven. Appendex bee."

Moving, first, to the smears of blood to collect samples for lab analysis.
Dan Richter "Dont tell me what to do." Comes a monotone modulated voice from the darkness, a quick glance revealing a pair of lifeless blue slanted rectangle eyes staring down on the bat from a nearby tree. Amark slips down from the branch onto the grass without a sound and stalks closer, "....The soil isn't even dry, and already you steal the Bat's face? Classy..." He says in that same emotionless tone before glancing to blood smears, his gaze clearly dancing off to follow it, "....Has the other one been found?"
Barbara Gordon Batman doesn't turn to look up in the tree or rise to the challenge implied in the tone taken with her regarding assumption of the Bats face, "No." Said in a single worded response to the question of whether the other girl had been found. Tracking, with a turn of her cowl, the line from the bushes where it is said the second girl hid to the most logical escape route that didn't take her inside the building.

"No blood." Pointing out near the bushes, "Who are you?" Babs is careful to keep herself partially in the shadows to keep her silhouette masked, she might not sound like a woman with the auto-tuning, but she certainly can't change the fact that her lower face is... not Bruce's.
Dan Richter Amarok's gaze turns to the trail of the the escapee, his gaze flitting about the ground in search of aged disturbances, "...That you have to ask tells me all I need to know....Try not to get yourself killed." He says with a slight tonal inclusion, clearly dismissive of the newly minted Batman as he lightly steps towards the path Lori is believed to have taken for a closer look.
Barbara Gordon "You can leave now." Batman brushes past Amarok along the path, then stops to follow the path back around to the pool, and finally to the side of the building. If she's concerned about the random bouts of attempted subversion to her identity, she shows it only by ignoring Dan completely. When she tries the door, it doesn't budge, but there are tools for that and Babs has them. What's a little B&E when looking for missing girls?
Dan Richter Amarok doesn't respond to the counter dismissal, simply staring for a moment before flitting his gaze through the window, a massive bloodpool in the kitchen quickly distinguishing itself in the moonlight"....Work faster, detective...If whoever bled that much is still alive, they wont be for long..." He says as he looks over the bloodpool, pushing past when the door opens and glancing about for a body or trail.
Barbara Gordon Push past is unlikely.

Specifically, it doesn't happen.

Batman moves in first after unlocking the door, then flicks it with two fingers so it swings back at Dan just to be a bitch.

Batman original she might not be, but she's not new and isn't going to be treated like she is.

She stops at the pool of blood, kneeling down to get a sample, which she slides into one of the countainers on her belt. Again ignoring Dan to move further into the kitchen, towards the garage... Careful about just bursting through doorways, she turns around corners with a practiced, expert level attention to ''sight lines''. Once inside, she stops at the car and the bloody palm prints. "Computer, trace prints, uploading image now." The built in computer zeros in on the bloody prints, getting images, and sending them back to the Batcomputer/Oracle Array for ID.
Dan Richter Amarok doesn't react as he walks into the door, it bouncing off him as he ploughs through. He stops for a moment to look back and forth for signs of life...or death, before moving on upstairs, a hand shooting up to the side of his helmet, a click and the world swipes to green, the darkness lit up by the mask's night vision setting.
Barbara Gordon Batman moves to the trunk and pops it with a file slide up between the locking mechanism and the latch. She steps back as it swings upwards and looks over the ... frankly ... horror movie amount of blood with calloused eyes. She still has to fight the urge to get sick with the overwhelming swell of so much copper tasting air rushing at her, because she's human, but otherwise does an analysis of the interior with a little frown beneath the edge of her mask. "Hm. Killed in the trunk. No signs of escape... no body. Another one awake?" The blood for analysis is sent with an immediate hit from the computer, "John G."
Dan Richter Amarok skulks upstairs, finding yet more blood, and a bedroom, crumpled bloodstained cloths amidst another massive pool. He stops at the pile and kneels down, pinching them up for inspection, "....Female....Ruined rags..." He says before standing back up and walking to the bathroom, pushing the door aside for a quick peek in, "...Clean...Why change clothes but not wash off?...." He mutters to himself before moving back downstairs, "Detective. Found something for you." He calls out to the Babsman.
Barbara Gordon Babs has returned to the kitchen after the computer gives positive identification, now kneeling beside the blood pooled on the floor. She glances up and in Dan's direction when he calls out, but says nothing. Her arms lay across her armored thighs, the moonlight clearly making out details of her visible face where she's positioned herself.
Dan Richter Amarok tosses the torn and bloodied rags to the Bat, "More blood upstairs, found these. No body....Find anything worth mentioning?" He says as his vision scans about the kitchen, looking for signs of possible weapons or possibly related missing objects.
Barbara Gordon "Yes." Batman catches the rages, looking down over the blood smeared articles with a blonw out breath through her nostrils. "Makes sense. Another murder in the trunk of the car." Turning her eyes towards the garage, "No body. No signs of escape." Curious, fist closing around the rags, "Standing up like the ones in the morgue. Thoughts?" Looking up at Dan without rising from her crouch.
Dan Richter Amarok begins pacing back and forth across an area of perhaps five feet, "No bodies, meaning that they were likely taken by the attacker, but the changed clothes indicate a low sense of urgency, made all the stranger by the pristine bathroom, indicating no attempt to wash off a stagger amount of blood....My only guess is that, somehow, the victim is still alive...If I had to guess, I would assume sewer transit. There's no one to panic down there with the sight and smell of blood, and you can get anywhere if you know which way to go..." He pauses for a moment, "...The morgue?..." Muttered under his breath and barely picked up by his helmet's mic, "....You're right...The incidents are too similiar and well timed to be coincidence..."
Barbara Gordon Batman weighs Dan in her steely white eyed gaze, "The attackers are the three individuals missing from the morgue. Their prints are all over the car." Pointing with her chin turned out and towards the open doorway, "CCTV camera footage saw them stand up, change clothes, and take a guard and the guards car... all three." She stands up, cape draping down around her like sheets thrown over unused furniture. "The guard was killed in the trunk. John G. His body is not there. He was either moved... which seems unlikely as there are no drag marks or smears of blood from the trunk.. or he stood up and walked away. Which falls in line with the evidence I already have."

The turns to look in the direction from which Dan came down the stairs, "The blood upstairs is probably the kidnapped girl. Killed and now walking around." This all sounds pretty absurd, but Babs knows Vampires exist... so why not zombies, right?

"I'll analyze the blood once I get back to the lab, but I am confident that it will be a match with our victom. Now we have at least five suspects.. possibly six." Pointing at the pool of blood, "I think this will be our escaped victom."

As for the house, "The house belongs to the Sanderhaus family. They are vacation. Neither of their vehicles are here. Curious if there is any link between the original three from the morgue and the two sorority sisters." Eyeing Dan, "Thoughts?"
Dan Richter Amarok resumes his pacing, "...I haven't had time to look into the girls, but the other three all have records. One is a registered sex offender, another has some dropped embezzlement charges, and the last a history of drug dealing and prostitution charges. If I had to guess? The last one is the most likely to be connected to the sorority girls, followed by the first." He pauses again, "...So...If the working theory is correct, the dead are rising and killing to increase their numbers...But..." He trails off, arms crossing and one coming up to rub at the chin of his helmet.
Barbara Gordon Batman lowers her head thoughtfully, "The time frame is odd. Difficult to explain. Fits with other variables I cannot talk about... definitely think more is going on." The white eyes of the mask don't blink, body hidden beneath the thick blue cape curling down the front of her shoulders. "Suffice to say someone is behind this. Magical... has to be. I'll run the blood through diagnostics later." She's quiet a moment, "Should probably work together. A lot going on in Gotham... need to solve this quickly."
Dan Richter Amarok nods, "On that we can agree..." He pauses and looks back to the blood pool, "...If you haven't met Robin yet...Watch out for the sword....If you have....Dont drink anything near him." He says before turning to leave, stopping for just a moment before reaching the door. He reaches into a belt pouch and pulls out a Titans communicator, "...It's set to only have my frequency...Dont break it, they're hard to replace." He says before setting it down on the kitchen counter and making for the door, "I have a few more leads to follow up...If they dont shoot at you, it may be worth checking the GCPDs records. See what you can dig up."
Barbara Gordon "Already have." Batman says, whether that's to meeting Damian, having access to Dan's communicator, or accessing GCPD files? Hard to tell. She does reach out and take the commuicator, turn it around quickly to access with a wire running out of her gauntlet, fiddles with something on a small view screeen, then unplugs and tosses it back. "I have uploaded you to my commuicators. Easier. Better encryption. I could hack that in my sleep." Nudging her chin out towards the Titan Comms. "I will talk to Robin about improving it." The auto-tunes makes her clipped sentences sound even more so. "I will route GCPD files to your access on the Titans computers. You will know it when you see it."
Dan Richter Amarok pauses and stares at the communicator for a moment before reaching out to take it back, "...I suppose I'll have to change my frequency now when this is done...So much for good old fashioned explosives.....You're no amateur...That's good. I hate carrying people." He says in his cryptic monotone before looking back to the door, "...I dont think we'll find anything else here, and time is wasting. I'd rather end this before more bodies start...well, disappearing..." He says before skulking out of the door.
Barbara Gordon If there's one part of being Batman Babs has down?

It's being gone when someone turns around.

That's why she was chosen to put on the cowl, after all.

When Dan reaches back for his communicator, Batman is gone.
