Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie comes knocking on the door to her room. "Shannon, it is me Sam, may ah come in?" He will wait and if she calls out to let him come in, he does and yup with food.
Shannon	Shannon is sitting up in bed, looking mildly frustrated at being cooped up in bed--and plenty scared. She's got her earbuds in, but they are taken out when she sees who's coming in. "Hi..." Her wings are still drooping, and seem to droop further when she sees him. "Ummm... ooo boy, how much have you heard so far?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "Not really, seems Ah missed something when Ah went back to Genosha to check on folks. Care to tell me whats going on?" He has brought her chicken soup, and a root beer."
Shannon	Shannon bites her lower lip, and averts her gaze. "Well, there's some good news, and some maybe not-so-good news." Uh-oh. That was /never/ a good way to preface a conversation. "The good news is, there's a little more to add to that journal you have me keeping. The not-so-good news? We found out what happens when a healing is interrupted forcibly."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie 's brow raises a bit to this and says "Ok, what happened? I take it your here and not in the med lab it was bad but not mega bad." He will set the food up for her, listening to see what she tells him.
Shannon	Shannon squirms a little bit. "It was pretty bad. BUT... Triage saved my bacon. If he hadn't, then yeah we would be in the medbay right now." She sighs a little. "I'd better backtrack a bit. I was getting one massive stress headache after the coronation and everything so I went to the wellness office to see if there was something I could take for it. Pixie had the flu and was sneezing fairy dust everywhere again. Not something you want around the mansion, when you have us kids with who-knows-what abilities. Triage had asked the question, could I take in an illness... and you've asked that before, too. So ummm... long story short, he got hit with pixie dust, I got him sitting somewhere safe. Then I tried to heal Megan before she could sneeze again and get me, too. She accepted, but halfway through decided enough was enough and pushed me away." She takes another deep breath. "Turns out that does real nasty things to my cardiovascular system. Shocks the living heck out of it, and not in a good way. It freaked Megan out, and it must've freaked Triage out enough to get his own healing factor to kick into overdrive, flush his system of the pixie dust, and save my bacon." Rolling her eyes a little bit, she smiles faintly. "Never thought I'd say this, but Loki may actually have done me a favor, holding on like he did in the middle of his healing. He may have actually saved my life."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie hmms and nods his head a bit to this and says "Well good to learn but next time your trying something new, Ah want to make sure you have someone not stoned out of their head." He will rub her shoulder, and says "Ok, you and I need to chat a bit ok?"
Shannon	Shannon nods, and sighs a little, folding her wings around her. However, Sam can still reach her shoulder. "Why do I have the feeling I'm in deep kimchee?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says not overly, but I need to make sure you realize a few things." he pulls himself a chair over, and says "Ok first off, lets talk about people trying to protect you and limiting how often your using your powers."
Shannon	Shannon sighs, and snaps a little bit here, rubbing her temples. "It sure would have helped if I hadn't had to use them -alone- so flipping much. Triage is here now, so yeah, thank god there's a break, but let's be honest, y'all were getting hurt and guess who was left picking up the pieces?" She frowns. "You think I -want- to be in pain in the medbay all the time, instead of being outside enjoying the lake, or bugging you at the club, or just going for some pizza in Salem Center?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Ok, we only have a few healers here so having people to teach exactly can be difficult, but also, you don't have to heal everyone that is hurt Shannon. Ah know Ah know it makes sense on a purely time bases, as you heal faster, but as I think you are beginging to learn, there are times when it is better for people to heal on their own." He looks at her, and says "Tell me what do you remember more a lesson that hurts and takes time, or one that seems to only have a short effect on you?
Shannon	Shannon shrugs a little. "Guess it depends on the lesson. Both can help, but... holy hell, you have no freaking idea how glad I am there's finally someone else here to help. And yeah, if I can, I'm gonna try and heal the ones I can. Even if it's only one in five. You don't leave your friends in the lurch if you can help it. But maybe now I can finally start saying no once in a while, and just... go do some crazy shit, just for the sake of doing crazy shit."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Ok, going to use one for example. When Pixie hurt her ankle, limping around for a few days would not have hurt her to bad, and would give her more insenitive to remember to not land like that again. That is part of the reasons Sam does not let you heal him Ah would wager.
Shannon	Shannon cracks a bit of a smile. "No 'wager' about it. He was pretty well shooting at point-blank range on the matter. Stubborn Teutonic mule." She sighs softly, though, thinking of that first healing. "And it was my fault she got hurt, egging her on... well, we were egging each -other- on, trying crazy shit in the air like that. And she pulled a George of the Jungle."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "Yes, but she would have been more apt not to do it again with now she will have even if just back of her head. "Shannon will fix me up, I don't have to be as carefull.""
Shannon	Shannon says, "I can't stand seeing my friends hurt, though... frak, I couldn't even stand seeing the Trickster hurt. And it sucked eggs seeing Kurt hurting, the last time I was in the medbay. And he's one I can't do a dang thing for." She frowns a little, thinking of something. "I wonder if there's a way to really confirm that, though. You know, that whole Cherayafim thing he was talking about....""
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "Ah don't know to be honest, ah really don't know anything about it. Kurt would be the one to ask about it. OK, now tell me what happened between you and Kitty after I left the other night."
Shannon	Shannon sighs. "She was getting all protective again and honestly... I was really tired of it. Worst part is, though... she may have been right, at least a little bit. But a little bit wrong, too. We both were." She settles back against the headboard, her brows furrowed. "I get it. She cares, she's trying to make sure this doesn't happen. But it's like that first danger room session, the one Josh ran. The one I was really embarrassed you had to see. It's been all about what I -can't- and -shouldn't- do... but where is what I -can- do?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Ok, I am going to be honest how long have you been here?" He will ask her waiting for her answer.
Shannon	Shannon frowns a little. "Two days before my birthday. Feels like a couple lifetimes, though."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Kitty, and Ah have been here for five or six years now. We have a bit of experience, and I know it is frustrating, but when one of us tells you something it is normally from experience. We want you to learn, and be able to do more, but we don't want you learning by almost dieing. Pushing it can learn quicker, but it can also potentially hurt you. Look at today. We don't know that if you push yourself to hard you won't do something that permantly harms you.
Shannon	"Then how the heck am I supposed to learn, if not by doing? Now does the frustration make sense? I... guess it does, on both ends. Kind of. And it wasn't pushing myself too hard this time. I got pushed away. Now I've got to get Megan calmed down from freakout mode."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "But you were trying something new without back up, since Chris was incapatitated.
Shannon	Shannon sighs and hangs her head. "Then who could I have called? It was that, or get half the school stoned out of their mind every time she sneezed that pixie dust everywhere."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Maybe asked someone to come up with a hair net for her wings? Something we might need to look into now that this has came up.
Shannon	Shannon nods, and rubs her temples. "Maybe that wouldn't be a bad idea." She goes for a little bit of the soup, nibbling on it. "At least I'm not the only one anymore, but yeah... got to figure out what to do from here."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Just remember your still new kiddo, and though you might not see why we do something most times we do have a reason. Now for the next thing. your language."
Shannon	Shannon opens her mouth as if to say something, then closes it real fast. "Ummm... yes?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Your getting to much in the habit of it. If you keep this up, what happens when you slip up and drop the word shit or fuck in german around your parents?
Shannon	Shannon chuckles and shrugs a little. "They don't speak the language." She tries not to laugh too much, but there's a hint of a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her and says "You don't think your parents might figure out Scheisse? Or if your using it a bit they might look more into it and find out.
Shannon	Shannon rolls her eyes, and throws up her hands in the air. "Okay, okay... but I can't exactly be squeaky clean oh gosh-golly-gee all the time, either."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "You don't have to be just be conscious of it, your getting to the point where your using them a lot, and I know your away from your parents for the first extended time, and it makes a uhhh look what I can do. But you don't want to be using them all the time, unless your going to be ok with it around your parents."
Shannon	Shannon sighs a little bit. "Fine." She sounds a little sullen, like a child caught with their hand in the cookie jar, and called to task for it.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her and ruffles her hair and says "You can do it, Ah am just trying to help you out hon. It is a habit if you let you get yourself into you will find it harder to break when your not wanting to.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie will lean in hug her, rubbing her sides "Yea, and it get scary when you think your going to loose someone or you do loose someone. And thats why we want to make sure your safe, we worry about loosing ya.
Shannon	Shannon nods a little, and burrows into the hug. "Just... glad I can start stepping back from some of this a little. Really glad. Just do silly things for a while. Or as silly and normal as it can get around here. Things that don't put me in danger." She sighs a little. "Just want to goof off sometimes. Heck, even just classes and cooking, and training out by the lake..."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Just remember you don't have to heal everyone, folks can heal on their own some as well. you can look at something and be of the opinion that it is ok to let them heal. Just because you can take the wound does not mean you have to.
Shannon	Shannon nods, and sighs a little. "But it's just as bad to let someone suffer unnecessarily. Hardest part is to know where and when." She rubs her temples. "I can almost hear it now. 'Listen to the hayseed.'." That thought gets her laughing a little bit, and she shakes her head.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "See nights looking up at the sky and wondering what was out there I guess makes you think a bit about life. That or just I am a smart hayseed." He jokes
Shannon	Shannon giggles a little, picking up one of her smaller pillows and tossing it at Sam. "More like a smartaleck hayseed."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie catches it and puts it behind his head in the chair. "So, how have you ben feeling today?"
Shannon	Shannon nibbles a bit more of the soup. "Drained. Worried about Megan. She was freaking out pretty badly... is she going to be okay? And really, -really- hoping I get better a bit before having to explain any of this to Logan, because I'd really rather not see him roaring like a hurricane again."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "I will check on her, knowing your going to be ok will help I am sure. So what do you need me to bring you?
Shannon	Shannon smiles a little. "I've got my books in here, but since I'm on light activity for a few days... well, I'm not sure how much of that Triage wants me to spend in here. If you could find that out, and maybe any class assignments I can get a jump on as long as I'm stuck in here?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "I get to set you some interesting thing for you to do over the next couple days hmmmm
Shannon	Shannon cants her head slightly, eating her soup. "What kind of thing? And... the biggest thing? Please let Megan know I'm okay? She was scared out of her mind."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "I will do kiddo, and I don't know I will find something fun for you to work on.
Shannon	Shannon laughs a little. "Fun? What's that?" She frowns almost immediately after asking, her brows furrowed. "I shouldn't even be feeling I have to ask that question...."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "I just had to have that conversation with someone else, so what do we need to work on for fun for you.
Shannon	Shannon shrugs. "Don't know. I usually find my fun in cooking, or making things like this quilt, or reading or music... but what if we had a pizza night for everyone? Heck, if I'm going to have fun, why not share it? Set up a little thing, let everyone make their own mini-pizzas, they pick the toppings and everything, and we watch the silliest movies in existance?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Well, I handle the movies, I will let you handle setting up the food next time with the movie night. Maybe do both airplane movies next week." He grins at her.
Shannon	Shannon giggles. "Surely you can't be serious?!" She ducks, trying not to laugh--and failing. Miserably.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "Yea, and don't call me Shirley." He grins at her, and says "Maybe a Mel Brooks film fest. He hmmms a bit to this and says "Maybe a bit of "Young Franken stein." He pronounses it for her the right way."
Shannon	Shannon hums a little bit of a classic melody in a minor key, finishing with, "Puttin' on the Ritz!" She grins a little, but then bows her head. "I'd have liked to know Gene Wilder, I think. Either him or Robin Williams. Maybe we could add some classic Robin Williams movies to the list?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "You ever watched Jack?" He will ask her checking some of her Robin Williams reference.
Shannon	Shannon nods. "Just once. I think one of my favorites of his, though, was Mrs. Doubtfire." She chuckles a little bit, and rolls her eyes. "Now -that- was an expert makeup job."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods a bit to this and says "Ah think Ah have liked most possible all his movies. "Another one that Ah find not many know as much about is The world according to Garp.
Shannon	Shannon shakes her head a little bit. "Don't think I know that one." She smiles a little, and hugs Sam a bit. "Hope maybe Jay can join in. It'd be nice to say hi to him... maybe actually get him to say hi back this time..."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "He is still finding his feet here, I am sure you and he will get along when ya get a chance to know one another."
Shannon	Shannon sighs sadly, her wings drooping as she leans into the hug. "That's just it. It's impossible to get to know someone if they won't even say hello. It's like I'm invisible to him. Andrea snaps her fingers, he jumps, but I just say hi in the dining hall, and I don't exist."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks to her and says "Give it a bit of time, I do think he is a bit star struck to be honest.
Shannon	Shannon rolls her eyes a little bit. "Can't complain too much... still got to call my folks about that backup vocals thing Andrea was talking about. Shoot, are they going to have to make the drive out here to meet with the lawyer and everything or can any adult go with me in their place? What's the word... proxy?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie hmms and says "Ah aint sure to be honest, but we can go get everything set up, and maybe even get the paperwork and take it to them for them to sign it.
Shannon	Shannon nods and smiles some. "I guess the next thing is to ask this Mr. Murdock what he'd recommend doing. Yeah I know, just a one-page thing, not some big deal, but I'd rather not have anything come back to bite me in the rear end."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "I am sure we will get it figured out, and should not be to much of a deal. Got a electronic form of it?
Shannon	Shannon shakes her head. "I think that, we'd have to ask Andrea for a copy of. It's a pretty small thing but eh. It's a few honest bucks."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods his head, and says "You wanting a job for some cash?"
Shannon	Shannon shrugs. "I don't really -need- anything, though. I guess it'd be nice to get out some but really, what would I do? And if it messes with friday afternoons or evenings, then no way."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "Wash dishes, wait tables, bus tables, mop floors, what ya want to do?"
Shannon	Shannon chuckles. "Only thing I'm good at is music, and I get enough of washing dishes here. Particularly when my team loses." She nudges Sam lightly and smiles a bit.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "Well, Ah can't get you on stage so if I am going to hire ya for a job have to find something and your to young to bartend."
Shannon	Shannon laughs, eyes twinkling. "But... but... I make a mean root beer float!" She tries batting her eyes, then just shakes her head. "Something to think about. But honestly, got my basic needs met. Just.. never really had anything I -wanted-."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "Well if your looking for money let me know can hire you for a bit of stuff to do.""
Shannon	Shannon nods. "I guess if I ever needed, it's good to know it's an option. But it's nice to just come down during off-hours when it's not so crowded, and just enjoy the place, too."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "I am glad you like it, I enjoy being there, but may have to watch who Ah dance with.
Shannon	Shannon raises her eyebrows. "Uh-oh... do I even want to know?" She pauses. "Hey, did that Lucifer fellow ever come back? You... you don't think it could be the Big D, do you?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie says, "Ah aint seen him, and don't know to be honest. Ah am glad he has not been around to be honest. He looks to her, and says "Ah was flirting with a girl at the club the other night, dancing having fun. She was Lorna's brother's date in Genosha.""
Shannon	Shannon claps her hand over her mouth with an 'oh crap' sort of look. "Oooooo, you just probably saved yourself a -whole- lot of grief. Lucky you found out now rather than later!"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "At least a bit of pain in the but dealing with Peitro. If she comes back by Ah will have to ask her about it and see what she says.
Shannon	Shannon nods and shakes her head. "Just wondering if I should be calling my father for you now, or later? I so would -not- want to be on the wrong side of that family."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie chuckles and says "Ah aint scared of Peitro, and Magneto, Well Ah am ok terms with him, Ah don't think he would get involved, Ah think he would keep it between Peitro and Ah."
Shannon	Shannon smiles some and swings her legs over the edge of the bed, easing her feet into a pair of Old English Sheepdog slippers. She's got her red tartan sweatpants and grey tanktop on for pajamas, her favorite getup. "I can't stay in bed all day... Triage said -light- duty, but maybe I can see if I can track down Megan and let her see for herself I'll be okay? Might be more effective than someone else telling her."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Ah will walk with you make sure you don't do anything you should not for a bit at least.
