Owner Pose
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley had been given a mission. One that was in retrospect very, very laughably easy because as soon as he spoke of who she needed to find she knew where to go. That was the end of the easy part however. The rest was going to be just as difficult as the first part had been easy.

Gaining some assistance from Jason she leads the way down a familiar street toward an equally familiar brownstone that she'd not visited in awhile. Two, perhaps three months at least. For awhile she'd been a fairly regular visitor before life just became busy with other matters.

"Okay, now please, please don't touch anything in here. No matter how shiny or pretty or dangerous it looks because it's *all* pretty dangerous," she warns Jason as she reaches up to knock at the door with a firm rap of her knuckles.
Jason Todd The Red Hood helmet covered his face entirely but Jason's body language gave away his smirk as he asked, "Even the door? Because if so, Kes, totally breaking your own rules."

He steps out of the way of potential swats at his arm.

"See?" he says holding up his hand and then stuffing them in the pockets of the leather jacket he wears over his armoured torso. "I step where you step, I touch nothing," he says quoting Temple of Doom.
Doctor Strange     The door opens before Carrie's fingers can even rasp against the old wood, both doors swinging inward rapidly as if avoiding being touched in such a manner. The open door feels like an invitation for both to enter the old brownstone, though the interior is poorly lit.

From no where and yet everywhere at the same time, should the bats enter, they'll hear a voice greet them after the doors close with a heavy clunk. "Why must you all always insist on wearing such, outfits when you come into my home..." Stephen's disembodied voice asks idly before his form is seen around the corner of the foyer and into the great main room of the sanctum. A pair of stair cases frame the room and on the upper floor a few crystal cases are visible on the main landing and off the first floor halls. Countless halls that make the room look like it's just a series of impossible mirrors.
Carrie Kelley Kestrel pauses with her hand held up mid attempted knock only to glance aside at Jason with a little expression that reads 'see?' "Didn't have to touch it. Just habit to try to," she points out with a wry grin. "Tryin' to be polite and all." The invitation was there though. She knew it well enough. If Strange wasn't here, if the Sanctum didn't want them inside, it wouldn't let them. It would just be a matter of trying again later.

A quick, deep breath is taken before stepping across the threshold.

Her head tips back as she looks around until her eyes alight on Strange offering him a simple shrug in response. "Work clothes. Comes with the job. Besides, even if you might know who we are that doesn't mean we want the rest of the world knowing who is walking in here."

Lightly clearing her throat she continues.

"I know I seem to be doing this more often than not lately, but I need to ask your help with something." Glacing to Hood again, she adds, "We all do actually."
Jason Todd "Uh-huh, you're just covering for the fact even the door agrees with me," Jason says his helmet modulating the sound of his voice, still the laughter was unmistakable.

Jason follows glances around as well, taking in interior of the Sanctum before turning up to Strange, "Hey Doc, and sorry, my house coat and bunny slippers were in the wash," he says of alternatives to his current outfit even as he reaches behind his head to undo the helmet with a pneumatic hiss. He pulls it off and tucks it under his arm, leaving his face uncovered except for a black domino mask.

Costume business sorted, Jason glances to Carrie and nods confirmation.
Doctor Strange     "If you must you must, but if you're so concerned about your safety, at least appear a bit more concerned with my own and don't use the front door when dressed like that..." Stephen says as he then looks over at Jason and simply nods, "Nice to meet you with your clothes on." Stephen says kindly and with a hint of jest in his tone before he closes his fingers pushing the tome he's holding in his left hand shut and he tucks it under his arm.

The wizard turns to face the two heroes and lifts his chin just a little, as he is the adult again and he's not a foolish man, he knows they need something. "What have you come to me for?" The wizard asks, curious but not about to break moral codes to get the info he wants.
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley opens her mouth to protest... but catches herself and nods instead. "You're right. I'm sorry, it hadn't really crossed my mind. I should know better." The thoughtful frown that creeps over her remains there even when he asks the question of why they were here.

"We, ah... You know we work with Batman. For him even in my case," she begins uncertainly.

A step is taken forward as her hand dips inside one of the pockets of her utility belt to fish out a small palm held device. It wasn't anything overly impressive. It's held out to him, palm up for display. Her thumb flicks a button on the side sending up a little fractal scattering of light that coalesces into an image.

An image of a spinal column showing pressure on the C3 through C6 vertebrae.

"Heard you were the best once."
Jason Todd Damn, Jason removed his helmet way too soon. At the mention of how he and the doc met that first time he pulls a face and coughs, "Yeah, sorry about that time," he says shifting a bit uncomfortably.

Then it's down to business and Jason looks back up at Doctor Strange as Carrie presents her message, were it not so serious Jason would have said something about how many Bothans died to bring them this info, but given that this was family stuff, he stows it.

"Yeah, Doc, what do you think?" he asks nodding at the image.
Doctor Strange     Stephen's jaw drops at the sight of the images and looks to Carrie. "I- I was." Stephen for once in many years, balks. He's the best wizard and faced with the problems he solved years ago, he's not even a fraction of what he once was. The grey eyes of the wizard linger on Carrie as he doesn't need to look at the image long to know.

"How bad is the victim's movement?" Stephen asks and takes a deep breath as he tries to figure out how to let them down. "I'm not that man any more... There is a best, and it's not me." Stephen responds, his attitude not turning to shame or anger, just a hint of remorse remains with in the man about his former life. A remorse built upon not being able to help.
Carrie Kelley "Incomplete Quadriplegia. He can feel, he can move, but he can't walk. Honestly if he weren't who he was, I doubt he'd be moving at all." Kestrel pauses before glancing toward Jason, and then back to Strange with her lips pressed in a thin tight line. Not all of this information had been shared with even all of the family. It had been her Batman had requested to on this trip and for this reason.

"He wants you, Doctor."

"I can be your hands if you need. Or any of us that you feel would be best suited. But he wants you."
Jason Todd The domino mask hides the startled blink at the news, but Jason can't hide the rest of his expression, his jaw opens then he closes it lips pulling tight. It's clear this is the first he's heard this.

"Whatever you need, Doc, just ask," he says, throwing his support in with Carrie's.

He'd process the news later.
Doctor Strange     "What I need, is a miracle... I'm not... I can't. None of you can. This isn't something someone can just coach you through." Stephen says as he reaches his hand out to rest on Carrie's hand and covers the device as if to push it and the whole scenario back to Carrie.

He steals a look towards Jason's eyes and frowns with a shake of his head before looking back to Carrie, "It can't be done. Even putting him on the table in this condition carries the greatest risk of further and worse damages." Stephen says. The old Strange would have dove in head first, with all the gusto and prowess of a man at the top of his field. There is that hope Strange wants to deliver, he COULD do it, but it's just not possible currently. "The heart is willing, but there's really no way. I'm sorry."
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley closes her hand around the holographic projector letting the 3D images vanish when he takes hold of her hand. Except she reaches out with her other to grasp at his overtop giving a squeeze in turn. "Please. There has to be a way."

It's only the green domino mask that hides her face. It didn't hide much. Worry creases her brow only for it to turn into a stubborn, set expression. There had to be a way. They just hadn't thought of it yet.

Fact: He was out of practice.

Ract: He didn't have the range of motion he used to.

Fact: He couldn't coach them through it.

But what if he didn't need to?

You can have my body," Carrie blurts out as she comes up with her potential solution. "Astral projection is a thing, so couldn't you use another body if they were willing to?"
Jason Todd Jason frowns as the doctor, refuses, "C'mon you made a magic door between Kitty's room and this place, if old you isn;t up to it is there some..." he wiggles his fingers. "Magic options?"

Though what Carrie suggests isn't what Jason was thinking...

"Have your what?" he asks before he gets where she's going with this and turns to Strange and nods, "She's good with her hands, and you're not going to get much more willing, so, is it possible?"
Doctor Strange     "Astral Projection like that is very possible, but if the host body and the astral form of another are forced, it's catastrophic for all involved. IE, your mind and mine would fight for dominance over your body, and even if you were willing, that would leave anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour before I am forced to leave, or I simply take you over." Stephen says to Carrie, pushing her hands back to her.

Looking to Jason now Stephen frowns, "Magical means would mean your, friend, would need the highest level of focus at all times in order to simply tune his magics, if he even has any, to simply allowing him to walk. Should he - /WHEN/ he gets into a fight, that concentration could slip and he's right where he is now..." Stephen says, with a deep frown on his lips. "I want to help. I greatly do, but the costs and risks, they're extreme. Every one."
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley glances over toward Jason at his conclusion of her remark, before he starts to catch on to what she meant. It was an idea that was apparently not going to work though. A small, almost deflated breath is let out when he explains. "I suppose puppetry wouldn't work either then," she muses keeping a careful eye on Strange to see if that notion might help. She was of course quickly running out of options.

"You said an unwilling host though. I'm not unwilling. Far from it."

"If we don't find a way, somehow, then Superman really will have killed Batman."
Jason Todd Jason meets that look from Carrrie, but then focuses on Strange and the problem at hand. Where was Timmy the Replacement at times like these? He was the clever one of the group.

"Can you make it so /you/ could do it?" he asks Strange. I mean if Bruce could walk by focus..."No that's dumb you couldn't focus on both your hands and the surgery... Maybe the time thing? Any way to stretch it out? Give us more time to work with?"

Again this was magic, so Jason was just pulling things out of his ass at this point.
Doctor Strange     Stephen's eyebrows both shoot up. "There. There might be something..." Stephen says and frowns deeply at himself as he looks down at his own hands, one with a book still in hand. Then his eyes lower still to his chest and then to the book in hand. "I may have some method..." The wizard says before he looks back up to Carrie and then Jason. "When do you want to do this?"
Carrie Kelley Carrie Kelley glances up when it seems that Strange may have thought of a way. A soft, sad smile is offered in thanks as she nods. "If you can. Soon would be best. He's been long enough as it is at this point," she states with a glance toward Jason to nod in affirmation.
Jason Todd "Not going to be easy is it?" Jason asks Strange. That much he could read in the man's reaction.

As for the timing? He meets Carrie's look and nods, "He has, but take as much time as you need to make sure you're safe, both of you. Enough people have lost for his sake already."
