Always Summer
Date of Scene: 24 January 2020
Location: Hammer Bay, Genosha
Synopsis: Shortly after New Year Conner and Clarice spend an afternoon in Genosha.
Cast of Characters: Superboy, Blink

Superboy has posed:
Many people seem to think Hammer Bay is Genosha. Just a big city on a small island. So okay, Genosha is small. But it is actually almost as big as Puerto Rico. And that is pretty large.

Plenty of room to get lost if a couple can fly and teleport (not that uncommon in Genosha) and don't feel like being in a crowd. Beaches near Hammer Bay and Carrion Cove are often crowded, because except on rain season, the weather is always pretty nice in Genosha.

North of the island, it is rockier, and some places are almost impossible to access by land. Which is why Clarice and Conner are hiding here. With towels, swimsuits and drinks that demand little umbrellas. (Also, a small portable fridge box).

Blink has posed:
And when you get a teleporter that knows all the nooks and crannies of Genosha it's easy to find some good spots for privacy and spending some quality time. Clarice found a good spot on the north of the island. In fact a spot that you wouldn't be able to reach on foot. And as such, armed with their drinks and swim suits there they went. She sits on a towel now, swimsuit on, even a pair of shades and she looking up to the sea. A smile to Conner. "Finally could convince you to come here. Beats New York weather, mmmm?" she says it in a teasing manner. She knows how cold she was during christmas! Brrrrr.

There is some wind picking up, waves beating down on the sand, not exactly peaceful but not too harsh either. Just right it seems.

Superboy has posed:
"I never need much convincing for going to the beach," replies Conner, offering the purple-head one of the drinks. With the mini-umbrella. He is wearing red swimming shorts today. No shades, shockingly. The young man is on the pale side, and he is certainly not going to get a tan. But sunlight? He never gets tired of it.

"And yeah, this place is nice. Sure beats New York for weather," he chuckles. "I still miss Hawaii, you know. Anyway, you are the girl that wants to be everywhere. So how is the Arctic this week?"

Blink has posed:
Blink squints her eyes at Conner when he mentions not needing much convincing, "Well, of course. Though you could use some tan, mmm?" she notes the paleness, but it's mostly a teasing, she knows he isn't the type to get much of a tan. She gladly takes the drink, having a sip off it and grinning more widely. "We can go to Hawaii again sometime, just let me know and we can arrange something. I will just need to figure things out with my other duties."

The mention of the Arctic makes her shakes her head with vehemence. "Now, why would anyone want to go visit the Arctic? Unless it's to drop off bad guys?"

Superboy has posed:
"I dunno, penguins?" No, that is the Antarctic, silly Conner. But hey, maybe someone built a fortress of alien crystal in the Arctic. Conner smirks knowingly. "Or skiing. Or ice skating. And Snowmen."

He is not being serious, but it is difficult to be serious around Clarice. "You can also use some tan. And you might actually have a chance. I just metabolize all the yellow solar radiation. Maybe if I try a tanning bed..." likely wouldn't work either. But he could ask one of the other Kryptonians if tanning is actually possible for them.

Blink has posed:
"Abominable snowmen perhaps? I have found none on my trips. Or yetis." Clarice lets out an exhale, apparently disappointed, "And I have looked. But in the end it's just really, really cold. No wonder I have such an aversion to it. And not all of us can have that kind of constitution you got, uh?" she smiles faintly, taking a drink out of her glass.

"Believe it or not I am already tanned. I have been a lot paler than I am now." Like when she was working as a slave, but she doesn't go there, instead simply nodding and draining the rest of her drink. That was quick!

Superboy has posed:
"You aversion to cold weather is amusing, too," comments Conner. And worth teasing her about it. "Aren't you mutants supposed to be tougher than regular humans anyway?" Given for the way she drank the cocktail, she better be!

He gives her a once over, and grins. "On the other hand, We should stay in tropical islands as much as you want. As long as you keep wearing that swimsuit, I mean. Yes, this is an awesome place. Look at those... waves."

Blink has posed:
"Depends who you talk to. Colossus is actually made of steel so.., that's a tough one. But me, I am just normal where it comes to that. Faster though, but just take a bullet like anyone else." Clarice says back to Conner, furrowing her brows. Then she shrugs her shoulders. "We can stay for a time, but not too long. Don't want to get spoiled and all that." it's not as if she actually lives here!

Superboy has posed:
"Oh, pfff... what if I want to spoil you?" Retorts Conner. He has more drinks for her! Except a drunk Blink might not be that fun, doubly so given he is counting with her to teleport him back to New York in a few hours. He doesn't want to be blinked into some evil place. Like Gotham. So instead he sips from the second glass. It is fruity and sweet, so it works for him.

Blink has posed:
Or even a meeting with Sandman wherever she left him when they fought. He's probably mad right now, probably. Blink grins a little. "Well, you are free to spoil me. I promise I won't complain.., too much. Because I am spoiled and I think that's a requisite..?" not that she knows most likely, not actually being the spoiled type! "How have you been liking working with the outsiders?" she then asks.

Superboy has posed:
It is actually Conner's plan to spoil Clarice whenever he can. Knowing a bit of her past in Genosha, he is quite sure she will enjoy the change. "I think the idea is you can complain only when you are not spoiled... but alright."

The change of subject is okay. Better quit when he is ahead. "The Outsiders are... eh, I have known some of them for most of my life, and I am glad we can still do worthwhile things together. As a team of heroes, I think we should so more. But Red is busy with Batman business and I can't imagine anyone else directing the gang."

Blink has posed:
"No no, it's the prerogative of a spoiled one to complain when they want to. -Specially- when there isn't a big reason for it." Then Blink offering a sagely nod back to Conner. She stretches up a bit, almost like a cat, letting out a soft purr and then up to her feet she goes, dusting some sand out of her legs and back.

She listens to the explanation on the Outsiders, nodding slowly at it. Leadership was never something she paid much attention to, or worried about, considering the strong figures they have on the Brotherhood. She questions. "Who are the others? I have met Gar and Robin only so far.."

Superboy has posed:
Conner hmphs at the explanation about the 'rights' of the spoiled. But the grumpiness, mostly fake, goes away when Clarice stretches. Distracting!

"Well... there is Kid, who is a super-gorilla, bit serious, but seems okay. There is Spoiler, who is another of the younger Bat-people of Gotham and very close friend of Robin. She is very nice. Black Canary was invited to help managing, but I have not seen her much. Then there was Arsenal, who is an archer, and Wonder Girl. Wonder Girl is another of my old friends, but her family keeps moving around the world, and she is also busy with Amazon business." He pauses, but then remembers, "and there is Cypher. I have seen him only through a video call, but he is some kind of tech expert and friends with Robin. Ah, and he is a mutant, like you."

Blink has posed:
"A super-gorilla...?" That brings a dubious raise of a brow from Clarice, she peering over her shoulder at you but then she chuckles. "That's a very varied bunch, to be honest. I will look forward to meet them." the mention of the name Cypher makes her furrow her brows though. Perhaps she has heard the name before? She offers a brief nod. "Yes, think I have heard of him." or more than that!

And she then blinks to the edge of the water, like a cheater.

Superboy has posed:
Conner doesn't know much about Kid, but he suspects he comes from an African city of super-gorillas he has heard about. He has noticed it is not polite to pry about other heroes secrets, though.

He reaches for the girl to pull her close and she blinks away! Like a cheater. Or lazy. Sunlight makes people lazy, but it energizes Conner. So he stands up and jumps to her side in a second. "So, in the mood of swimming a bit?" He offers, slipping an arm around her waist.

Blink has posed:
Sunlight also makes people in the mood for a swim. Clarice nods with a smile that shows teeth, then looks over to the ocean, leaning close to Conner and resting the side of her head against his shoulder, "Sounds like a good idea..." but there's just that small, mischievous inkling to her tone that Conner may be starting to identify by now. Because there is another 'blink' and off she goes!

She lands on the water, diving briefly and then up. "Not sure what you are waiting for!" she lets out a soft laugh.

Superboy has posed:
Yes, he can see it coming. And he expected some kind of dive, too. Because showoff. But it all makes him smile; he likes the whole teasing game she seems to play all the time. It always ends well.

So he dives into the water, swimming towards the purple-head elf at what seems a quick pace, but he is actually taking his time. Not that he can really catch her, but the game is fun.
