Yaozu Lin has posed:
It's been a number of hours since Yaozu had been brought here by the Scarlet Witch. The Chinaman has remained unconscious through the evening and night. There have been a number of medical tests that have been run on him in the meanwhile, an updated battery of them that were as thorough as Liansong would have done had he been taken to the Shield base. Some of the results have been determined while others have not, and he's been put on an IV of a painkiller.

There have been physical changes that have been progressing in the intervening hours. From his feet up to and including his hips, he's anatomically become more avian in nature. It is something that stands to reason, given the nature of the mutation that he's been undergoing, but it's happening more quickly now than what it had been before. His shoes are tucked next to the bed, slightly under it. At his back, there are nubs of wings that have erupted where a bird's wings would be as they start to grow in. The changes haven't completed, but they are on their way.

It's fairly early in the morning, at this point. Yaozu lays on his side on the bed, a position that he'd naturally ended up in through the course of sleeping. There's a blanket that covers him, and he's wearing a hospital-type gown that is, at least, closed at the back. One of the pillows that was on the bed is dangling half off of it, and his head rests on the other pillow. Yaozu moves slightly, half curling up on his side and exhaling a sleepy little sound. For a moment, it might almost seem as though he's about to fall back to sleep, but then his lashes flicker open and he blinks a couple of times, taking a moment to focus on the room that lies beyond him. It's not a familiar space, and a slight wrinkle shows in his brow.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff had been there through the battery of tests being performed. She'd insisted. And who in their right mind is going to tell the Scarlet Witch no when she's set her mind on something? Nobody who wants to live very long. Or who wants to remain in the human shape they'd started out the day in. Thus it is that she's aware of the results of all the testing. She'd been there for all of it. Now, she's tucked into a chair beside the bed, curled up into a little redheaded ball, a blanket draped over her. And quite soundly asleep.

And that's how she remains, asleep. She'd fallen asleep somewhere around an hour before, finally settled enough, and certain enough, that Yaozu wasn't in immediate danger. She knows he's in good care here, so that helps too. She's still dressed in the same clothing she'd been in the previous evening. It's at least dry now, having gotten that way the natural way. Slowly and with enough time. Her red hair hangs loose and over the arm of the chair her head rests upon. Her legs are tucked, curled up, against the other arm of the chair.

Her right arm is curled in against her chest, holding the blanket tucked beneath her chin. The other, her left, is stretched out toward Yaozu, fingers half curled in an entirely relaxed state. Those fingers are very nearly within touching distance of the not-quite-avian's upper arm closer to her.

Yaozu Lin has posed:
There is a certain amount of blissful ignorance that Yaozu has in regards to the tests. He was unconconscious or under a mild sedation so that he wouldn't end up moving during some of them. He keeps his legs drawn up a bit, beneath the blanket. He had barely begun to take a look about the room when his gaze fell upon the sleeping figure of Wanda, curled up within the chair next to his bed. He hadn't been expecting that, not at all. His gaze lightly wanders over her blanket covered self, and there is a faint smile that finds the corners of his lips. He was pleased and grateful that she was there.

It's a moment before he draws in a deep breath, feeling a bit more awake, and his tongue flicks out to brush over his lips. He's hungry, and he's thirsty, but those are things that he's willing to let wait a little while. His gaze gives the rest of the room a brief glance, but then rather readily comes back to the woman curled up in the chair so near to him. He recognizes her clothes as being the same as those he'd seen her wearing when they'd been speaking in the evening. But he has a limited understanding of how much time has actually passed between then and now.

Gently, softly, Yaozu's gaze turns to her hand, so near. And he does something that he had perhaps not imagined that he would end up doing in quite this particular way. He lifts one of his hands, and he very lightly brushes his fingertips across the heel and lower portion of the palm of her hand. It's a very soft sort of touch, almost... experimental, a testing of the waters, perhaps.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff remains soundly asleep.... up until the point her hand is touched. She hadn't woken to the blanket being draped over her by some kind soul, but this? That touch wakes her. Wanda's jade green eyes open, and focus on the fingertips brushing over her palm. A murmur of sound comes from her, and then Wanda starts to sit up. Only to be caught in a full body stretch. The blanket half slides down to pool in her lap. She yawns widely, and then shakes herself once.

Her eyes fall onto Yaozu, and she has a smile for him. "Hey you. Welcome back to the land of the Awake. You had me worried there, for a little bit." She rises to her feet, catching the blanket as she does so. This gets tucked in a careless heap on the chair. The fact that it's from her apartment doesn't even register in the moment.

She reaches for the pitcher of water on a nightstand near the bed, and pours a portion of the contents into a cup set aside for that very thing. It appears to be water with ice in it. Once done, she sets the pitcher down, and brings the cup over to Yaozo. "How do you feel?"

Yaozu Lin has posed:
When her eyes open, when she awakens, Yaozu's touch there upon her hand stalls. Then his fingertips lift a little away from her skin, to not be in the way for her to reclaim her hand. "I am sorry... I did not mean to wake you," he says quietly, sincerely, a hint of sheepishness to his voice. He can't help but to watch her stretch, though the way he does it isn't ogling in nature. He brings his hand to rest softly on the blanket that covers him, and finds himself to be still watching her. The hairstick had been removed from his hair, and his hair unbraided before any of the tests had been done, to remove the metal.

"Mm. Thank you, Wanda," Yaozu says softly, giving a faint nod towards her. "I did not mean to have worried you," he adds, a bit of colour rising up into his cheeks, his gaze turning downward. He notices the blanket in that moment, that she spills to the chair in a heap, and he notices that it's different than the one that covers him.

As she pours a glass of water for him, he shifts a bit where he lays, pushing himself to be sitting up. He eases back a bit before leaning back against the pillow. He's still a bit pale, and his black hair is quite the contrast. "I feel better than I did before... but I feel... drained, sort of," Yaozu says softly, trying his best to explain it. "Thirsty, and hungry, as well. How are you?" he asks softly, studying her. A part of the better is from the painkillers that have drained into him. And it makes sense for him to feel drained, really, given that his body has been busily changing whilst he was sleeping. He reaches one of his hands out to accept the glass of water from her, inclining his head towards her. "Xiexie ni," he adds, ducking his chin slightly before he lifts the cup to take a drink from it.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff shakes her head. "Don't worry about it. I wanted to wake up when you woke up," she says simply. She glances to the blanket in her chair, and the one that covers him. She notices what he does. That the blankets are different. She considers that, but only for a moment. She moves forward to be closer to the bed, but she isn't going to help him unless it seems he needs the help, or he asks for it. She's familiar with male pride and stubbornness.

"Drained makes sense," she says. She glances at the clock on the wall. "You have been sedated and under pain medication for the last twelve or so hours. It's around seven am, now. The length of time explains the hungry. What do you feel like eating?" Wanda smiles at him. "I'm fine. Just worried about you." As he takes the glass, she releases it easily into his grasp once she's sure he has it.

Wanda slips her hand into her pocket and pulls out a cell phone. She turns the screen on and taps out a quick message that equates to 'Yaozu is hungry, please send some food down here.' She glances from the phone to Yaozu, and then back to the phone and taps some more. 'Something Chinese, and authentic would be best, I think.' She sends the message and it beeps a few seconds later with a reply message. She nods once, and tucks the phone away before focusing her attention once more on Yaozu.

Yaozu Lin has posed:
There is a moment in which Yaozu considers that, and then he gives a small nod. A hint of a smile finds the corners of his lips, lingering a moment before ghosting away. "Then I will be grateful that touching your hand woke you, since you wished to be awake," he says softly. Though her blanket being different implies it came from elsewhere, there isn't a question that he asks about it. The pillow that had only been halfway escaped has, in the course of him getting sat up, ended up escaping the rest of the way to the floor.

Asking for help is never an easy thing, and Yaozu has a fair stubborn streak in addition to his cultural heritage. Even so, there is a moment of hesitation that happens before he actually does ask for the help. "Could you, please, help with the other pillow?" Yaozu asks in a soft tone, his gaze lifted to her rather than being downcast. He finishes off the cup of water, and keeps it in hand, for the moment. And then she mentions how long he's been here for already, and he blinks, a flicker of surprise reflecting in his eyes. "Twelve hours...?" he asks quietly, his brow wrinking a bit before he gives a small shake of his head. It doesn't feel that long, to him, but his perspective is skewed. "The length of time does explain the hungry, and the thirsty, as well. Ah, if I may... where is here?" he asks with a bit of curiosity, one of his eyebrows quirking up just a touch. "I should let Liansong know what happened," he adds in a quiet tone. "I hope that they do not think that I have gone missing," he comments, frowning a little bit. He closes his eyes for a moment, then gives a brief shake of his head as though to chase off the rampant thoughts on stampede through his head.

Yaozu opens his eyes to look to her, and he ducks his chin slightly. "Gomen'nasai, Wanda," he says quietly, apologetically. Not Chinese, but Japanese this time. "A vegetable lo mein with either tofu or chicken would be very good," he offers in answer to her question about food. "In truth, I will eat most things that are either Chinese or Japanese food. American food, I am still getting used to. It is different," he adds, giving a small nod as a hint of a smile finds the corners of his lips. He's not particularly fussy when it comes to food -- and on account of his education he has a fair understanding of what his body needs, though he's not used to sweet things and so he tends not to eat very much or very many of them.
