Emma makes an Offer
Date of Scene: 06 October 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Hazmat, Emma Frost, Nick Fury

Hazmat has posed:
Out in the backyard of Avengers Mansion, one could feel closer to the outdoors than most other places in the city, aside from the bigger parks obviously. Unfortunately, its current occupant might as well be inside, but holographic outdoors wasn't as nice even with her particular... circumstances. Jen is currently stretched out on a bench, tablet on her lap as she tries to study. This was the closest she was going to get to the outdoors any time soon, unless she was in the middle of nowhere in an area that was already heavily contaminated. Maybe she could get a field trip to Chernobyl...

Emma Frost has posed:
"Ahem." Clears a woman's voice as she steps into teh back yard of the Avenger's mansion and she looks around, left and right before her attention settles on the young woman who is on the nearby bench.

"Excuse me." Says Emma Frost, attempting to get Jennifer's attention.

Hazmat has posed:
Jen rolls her eyes, not looking up. "If you got lost from a tour group, go back inside, take a right, then your second left." She doesn't have time for tourists today, not when she has to study for classes, and still can't smell any of the flowers. Or much of anything, the filtration system in her helmet goes both ways. Aware of the continued presence, she speaks again. "Look, this isn't a zoo, if you keep staring, I'm going to start charging you."

Nick Fury has posed:
In the shadows and watching the scene is none other than the Director of SHIELD, Nick Fury. The only indicator that there was someone there was this faint smell of Cuban cigar smoke that seems to suddenly permeate the air. A rustle of sound, and an exhalation of air follows that smell. Someone was indeed watching the two, and it was someone used to hiding in the darkness. As the Director of SHIELD, and someone used to gaining access to anywhere, it was not a surprise that Nick would be in Avengers Mansion.

Emma Frost has posed:
"You're poorly mistaken if you think I'm here to look at the freak show." Emma says, her voice not wrinkling in the slightest but the idea that she might be annoyed by the way she's brushed off by the teenager.

"If you ever want your normal life back, you are going to have to work for it and not lounge about in the back yard like some useless hick on a bender." Frost says stepping closer but not into Jennifers line of sight, though her icey blue eyes glance over towards where she might sense Fury's mind and sighs just once at the man.

Hazmat has posed:
Jen rolls her eyes, turning off the tablet and twisting a bit to glare at Emma. "One, I'm studying. I never actually got to FINISH high school, so I still need regular classes, on top of training. And two, the LAST person who told me they could fix me nearly got my family killed. So you'll understand when I say that I don't want your fucking sales pitch." Her eyes narrow behind the visor as she climbs to her feet, staring the white queen down.

Nick Fury has posed:
Moving out of the shadows, followed by a trail of cigar smoke is Nick Fury. Taking the cigar out of his mouth with his right hand, Nick exhales and looks at the two women present here at Avengers Mansion. His eyes fall upon Emma, and he shakes his head ever so slightly. "Ms. Frost. What are you doing here at Avengers Mansion?" Fury asks, not a single shred of emotion present in his voice or on his face. Completely neutral.

Fury's eye then finds Takeda. "Ms. Takeda. I see you are settling in here well. Almost an Avenger yourself." Looking at Emma, Fury adds, "Watch her. She is not to be trusted." Fury does not say who he means cannot be trusted, letting his words hang in the air.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Nick." Emma says, her expression softening just the slightest when he appears out of the bushes and she smirks at the man's one good eye. "I'm here to do my duty. To make sure that /everyone/ related to SHIELD in some way is properly trained, and taught to prevent any incidents falling any of your agents in the field." At the end of her words she simply motions towards Jennifer as if the girl herself should fill in any unasked questions by Fury.

"I didn't give you a sales pitch. I gave you the truth." Emma says simply, leaning back on her heals and crossing her arms below her chest.

Hazmat has posed:
Jennifer Takeda folds her arms across her chest. "Director Fury." Compared to the disdain for Emma, she shows respect for Fury, even if grudging. "Not to hear Cap say it. And I don't trust anyone." Back to Emma, "That's what Osborn said too. And now the fuck's running for mayor, and I'm stuck in a suit. And I'm pretty sure SHIELD has a better budget than you do, too."

Nick Fury has posed:
Fury regards Emma with that "one good eye" and the advanced, R&D-overkill second eyepatch, with a nod, and a slight twitch of his lips. Was that almost a smile? Or a smirk? "Your duty. Huh. I see." Nick places the cigar in his mouth once more, the light at the tip of the cigar revealing he was inhaling.

"I appreciate you helpin' us out at SHIELD, and doing your due dillgence in making sure everyone is properly trained." Nick regards her, suspicious. But wasn't he always? "After all, I would expect no less."

AT the sound of her voice, Fury turns his eye towards Takeda, and allows her a brief, true smile. A rare event. "Excellent Ms. Takeda. You shouldn't trust anyone. Except me of course. You can always trust me." A slight chuckle. "And if I were you, I would ignore anything Osborn was telling you."

Emma Frost has posed:
"That's why we came to an agreement Director Fury." Emma retorts before turning her attention back towards Jennifer and regarding the girl further.

Frost examines the girl from head to toe, visually scanning and mentally proping the young woman to get a feel for her and because Emma is observant, it's how she's thrived so far.

"She's not going to go with me. And I don't have time to wait for Steve or Thor to hold her hand to walk her into my school Nick. Either she will decide for herself or she'll be stuck at a tenth grade level." Is Emma's diagnosis towards Nick, maybe he'll know how to motivate the girl.

Hazmat has posed:
"Yeah, I know that /now/. He found me before you guys did and I was desperate." She sighs, looking down at the ground again, before returning to glaring at Emma. "Okay, now you're just being a bitch. I was a junior when this shit happened, and if I wasn't keeping up with my grades, Steve would do his whole 'I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed' thing, which SOMEHOW still works on me. You have yet to give me ANY proof that you'd be better other than 'These guys suck, I'm rich and beautiful and successful." She shifts her weight to her other foot, tilting her head a bit to one side. "So, are you going to actually make a case?"

Nick Fury has posed:
"I see. Very well." Nick removes the cigar from his mouth, and nods, "She needs to make the decision for herself. No coercing Ms. Frost!" Fury holds up a hand with his index finger wagging back and forth. "It would be inappropriate."

Fury laughs. "Make a case...I like her." Fury looks at each woman, and then back at Emma again. "She is strong. That is a good sign." Fury puts the cigar back in his mouth, and backs into the shadows once more. "I approve Ms. Frost. If she agrees, do your best." Fury pauses, as the shadows start to absorb his form, "Ms. Takeda. She can help you. Just don't trust her..." And with that, Fury fades from view."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma watches Fury slink back into the bushes. "We can still see you..." She says deadpanned and blinking before turning her attention back to Jennifer. "I am Emma Frost. CEO of Frost International and more relevant to your case, I am the headmistress of the Academy of Tomorrow. A specialized school, but a school none the less. We teach everything from english, to geometry. From power use and skills, to tactics on and off the battlefield." Emma says, telling her a bit about the school. "We have a contract with SHIELD to help train any and all involved with their agents, and especially powered individuals such as yourself."

Emma wraps up as she takes her card out of a pocket on her blazer and extends it forwards towards the young woman. "For when you really want to learn everything you can."

Hazmat has posed:
Jennifer Takeda nods slowly, accepting the card gingerly. "And you say you could actually fix me? ...Maybe I'll think about it. Assuming it's not some snobby rich kid school. And that the rest of your students would be comfortable having Chernobyl in Abercrombie and Fitch walking around." She's still looking at Emma with suspicion but... She's thinking about it. "I kind of need infrastructure too."

Emma Frost has posed:
"I didn't say I'd fix you. I said if you want your normal life you'll have to work for it. We're just going to teach you how." Emma says, taking a step back and starting to walk towards the door. "We'll certainly have to teach you how to not be so forward with your preconceived notions. You're supposed to be an Avenger. The best this planet has to offer. Ha." The white queen chuckles as she walks towards the door, the clap of her heals so loud it seems like she owns the place.
