The Laboratories
Date of Scene: 22 April 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: A laboratory full of hostages is assaulted by Avengers (and friends!)
Cast of Characters: Iron Man, Captain America, War Machine, Rogue, Hulk, Power Girl, Erddrache

Iron Man has posed:
The groups were given specific information on several laboratories. One in particular was flagged, due to the amount of activity Tony's little drones had seen recently. And now? Suddenly everything is in motion. Vans were piling up outside the large laboratory building, military personnel arriving in additional vehicles, collecting quickly. Two big vans: one white, one silver, stand with their doors open, as the laboratory itself crawls with the militants.

Word went out quickly: Avengers and Allies, assemble. There are hostages suspected there: mutants potentially of really nasty abilities, and fear gas is well known to be in use by these villains. While some kind of resperation solution is recommended for everyone, trying not to get hit at all is better: some of the tests have suggested that it could enter into the skin, even through clothing. There is a bright side, though: the Avengers have in their possession multiple canisters of an aerosol they hope will negate the fear gas, and a large number of syringes that can be used as a more direct resolution. In theory.

The lab itself is set up on the side of the river. It looks like nothing from the air: blobs of industrial buildings, big trucks. There are multiple access points: both from the water, from the large garage area in front, and one on a side. Tony has warned everyone that there is a great deal of surveillance going on, and has picked up on some underground sections. The building itself is only one story, and has heavy fencing around it. There is a neighboring building, a shipping company, that has higher floors that exists just past the fence to the east, as a potential viewing spot.

Iron Man himself isn't with the Avengers now. He has a second laboratory spot to check on where another van was spotted, but will 'be watching', and will, of course, yell if he needs help with his. Probably.

Captain America has posed:
Over the comms Captain America's voice is heard along with a faint buzzing sound, << Check point, mark. >> Is said over their secured frequency. Seemingly innocuous, without anything to feed to any possible eavesdroppers save that something has been broadcast.
Yet in the underground sections Captain Rogers lowers his hand from his ear and advances down the large industrial scale drainage system that leads towards that facility. Over his shoulder he says to Rogue, "I don't want to hear any complaining, at least you can hover over most of this stuff." He says even as he sloshes along, his own boots dark and growing darker with every stride.
Ahead of him there's a steady whir, a barely visible object is simply a darker patch amongst the darkness. The get for the op was a set of night vision goggles and enclosed suits to prevent contamination or exposure, so that patch of darkness to them would resolve further into one of Tony's drones though this one is smaller and seems to have an array of sensors. Sensors it's using to pick their way forward and disable the electronic equipment along their path.

War Machine has posed:
<Whiskey Mike reporting in, bird is in the air, got visual on the compound, got visual on possible tango's.> Spoken over the coms in a calm professional manner, yet there's no sign of any jet quin or the otherwise that he might be talking about high overhead in the sky. <Give the word and we'll light this puppy up, over.>

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is doing precisely that.

Hovering.

"I once came down here inta the sewers t'hide from some people once, but they were way cleaner than this." She says with a filter to her voice since she's wearing a breathing mask whilst floating behind Cap. "I could carry ya, ya know." She says then, showing a behind the mask.

Rogue's covered eyes look around inside the pipe they're in. "Are we there yet though?" She asks him, "I mean cause this is pretty dank, even if the Avengers pays well... this is out-there, even for us!"

Hulk has posed:
*BOOM*. The sound could be heard underground and for a block or two around the general in front of the lab where the militants were scrambling.

That'd be the sound of the Hulk landing right smack dab in the middle of them, leaving a sizable crater. The Jade Giant and his ten feet of solid green mass start to step out of it, audible thumps going as he goes and checks the area.

Hulk has arrived in Gotham, and he flexes as he goes, looking ready for a fight, <<Hulk like this one already>> Hulk gives a nasty grin as he watches the vans.

Power Girl has posed:
Two and a half seconds ago, a call came in from Gotham in regards to the Greenest Avenger's appearance in the dark city. Right on cue, Power Girl left her apartment as soon as the notification hit her League Communicator. Though it's so incredibly common for Gotham, those with computers linked to their helmets are well aware that the noise of thunder that cracks through the sky has nothing to do with meteorology. "I'm in position. Got the green guy in sight. Looks like he's got something in his ear."

Naturally, the man who she's speaking to is not on the comms of the operation- but Tony, being Tony, is doubly well aware that a League Communicator has just arrived on the scene.

Iron Man has posed:
The closer to the lab that Captain America, Rogue, and the little robots with them get in their underground tunnels of bliss, the more they are aware of a nasty vibration above them, from the lab. Something is really revving up. The drones relay in the information, but don't provide much on their own, beyond automatically dismantling things and flashing lights that probably would have meaning to Iron Man, but not so much to Cap or Rogue. Don't worry, Tony will sort of help: <<I'm a little busy, but just so you know, there's some kind of apparatus above you, Cap. Try not to hit it without us knowing what it does. It could be in the 'slightly bad' category.>>

<<I'm not going to remember you're 'Whiskey Mike'. Let's use War Machine,>> Tony asks ruefully of Rhodes. <<What do you see in the compound? I've got mostly idle--->> a pause. Hulk made a crater. <<...was that Hulk?.... Well. Okay then. Let's not try to take a HUGE shit in Batman's yard, if at all possible? Or if we do, I'd just rather it be intentional.>>r
The military groups obviously see Hulk. And shouts go out quickly. One military group moves to engage Hulk, though, from the back of their vehicle: they are closest to the front gate. The lab doors burst open, and eight people with bags on their heads are hustled out towards the vans, top speed, guns shoved into their ribs and backs. "Move!" one of the armed men snarls at the captives. A man in a lab coat trails along in his wake, with a heavy bag. "Monroe," he calls weakly. "Wait for me."

"You stay here. Use a few /now/," Monroe answers. The man in the lab coat pales, but nods, and starts to pull a few of the hostages in hoods away from the van, into a little group.

Captain America has posed:
Again Cap's voice is heard as he replies, << Roger that. Let's tighten this up. >>
To the side Cap says, "Pick it up, Rogue." He breaks into a half-jog that once the drone adjusts its speed he'll break into a run. The water splashes around them while the robotic flyer whirrs on ahead and starts to make quick zzzt/zap sounds as one after another of the sensors aimed down upon this section of the underground are disabled.
He breaks through the mouth of the hall, no targets. Then he gestures towards Rogue. "Alright, just like we trained." He steps to the side of the ladder and rests a hand on the lowest rung, plants a boot as well then gives Rogue the nod.
Once she's in place and ready, just before the moment arrives he tells her sidelong. "Be gentle."

Hulk has posed:
<<Ha, You all funny. Think those pea shooters can do anything to Hulk.>> Hulk observes as he starts to casually walk right up to the vehicle that's orienting for him. Hulk, by some miracle, isn't just /smashing/ everything. He knows he's here to take the hits and keep these people distracted and in place, and seems to be sticking to the plan!

Of course, Power Girl might have other ideas rather than letting a Hulk roam.

War Machine has posed:
<They never teach you the phonetic alphabet in school Tony? Whiskey Mike just means W M, or War Machine.> Corrected with a bit of a light tsk tsk tsk. <Swear man what are they even teaching folks these days.> There's a pause. <Looks like Jolly Green just stirred the hornets nest, got Tango's converging on his position, and the whole place just lit up, looks like we're on the clock.> Another small pause. <Got at least 20 life signs registered on thermals, and full visual on the hostages. I'm checking for cross the EM spectrum going to see if I can't spot a generator to try and shut the lights out on this place, but toss me the word and I'll go in hot to try and snag a few hostages, over.>

Erddrache has posed:
Among the hooded figured pushed out was Boris, a young and very nervous mutant who had been sedated when he was brought to the laboratory. But soon enough the stout mutants' hood was pulled off, and as the light beams down, his eyes become pinpricks. Early he among the other had been given a special concentrated dose of the Fear Gas...among other things to make them better, stronger even.
Everything looks like it was out to get him. Everything one looks like a threat...everything WAS a threat. Boris mind goes into overload as his bone blades on his arms and back comes to attention.

All was still for but a moment

And than it hits like a wave - a massive earthquakes ripples outward from Boris spot, which makes the ground lurch. A second ripple - and the ground upheaves liftings cars and people if not knocking them down. The third and continues ripple was begining to crack buildings.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is flying right on behind Cap with her black hood up over her already concealed head anyway cause well... she likes her hood and her cape when she's on missions, they help her control her flying if she's doing some serious turns/momentum shifts.

"You got it." She says softly as he tells her to pick up the pace. "Mind the splashin' though." She says after him while his boots are slopping around in the tunnel's gross-ness.

When Cap reaches the ladder and says those words to her, she floats up behind him and puts her masked face over his shoulder to peer around him. "Sugah, I'm always gentle." She says in that southern accent of hers. "Less ya ask me not t'be." She adds with a little grin before she's holding onto his under arms and just lifting him up the ladder and floating on up with him like they're being shot out of a geyser!

Power Girl has posed:
"Yeah. Shots fired." she states, mostly to herself. Power Girl dips from her position in the sky to swoop closer to the ground. She'd been using her Adult Supervision in order to keep the Hulk in her sights, but at the same time, there're a few points she wants to check. This portion of Gotham is pretty densely urban, and probably just as densely populated. Her vision strays from the Hulk, as she starts looking -through- the walls of the buildings, trying to ensure that there are no civilians present. She's not entirely sure what the Hulk is doing here, but she's really worried that it might be endangering people in their homes, or people working late nights.

While the Hulk -does- seem calmer than she's ever seen, she doesn't trust him not to fling a van through an office building, or through someone's grandmother's living room.

Iron Man has posed:
The area with the strange humming device is very clean, but just moderately secured. There are three lab techs in the room, all of them using the device. It appears to be about the size of a twin bed, with a large rotating piece like a cement mixer. The lab technicians are pulling canisters from it from a low slot, and arranging them into bags. They look really familiar: there were canisters just like them at a recent rally.

The lab techs stumble when the earthquakes start to occur. "They set off the /earthquake/ one here? Are they nuts?!" one of them asks loudly, before they wheel to face the noise created by the geyser that is Captain America and Rogue. The lab techs are unarmed, unless you count the fear canisters in their hands.
The men in the vehicle actually pull out of the front, shooting at Hulk. It could be they are trying to lure him out that way. Somebody's not a terrible leader, it seems.
Monroe snarls at the other man, "You used the 'quaker? On top of our own lab? The synther is here, idiot. ....Get the others!" He continues to bark orders into his own communicator, leaping into the back of the silver van with several of the mutant hostages in tow.

There are 3 mutant hostages now active in the courtyard, one of which being Boris. 4 are in the silver van now with a group of soldiers and Monroe, and the white van is empty. The scientist retreats from the activated mutants, and flees back into the lab.

Power Girl can see military personnel everywhere, and about six hostages inside the lab itself. Otherwise, around the city? The population is very dense here, though less so by these industrial buildings than it could have been.

Captain America has posed:
That shield of his is slung forwards as Rogue flies him upwards through the manhole cover with a /WHAM!/ and suddenly he's flying up above the madness, the chaos surging below him and the flying mutant girl. He takes a single instant to brace before he's /hurled/ through the air and slams shield first into one of the men with guns where he takes the man down and swirls to his feet. His fists cracks hard against the jaw of one of the men with the canisters as he quickly liberates it and clicks it to his belt then he scans the situation.
<< Get cures on the active mutants. Priority is keeping the toxin from being spread, you got your antidotes, use them. All operatives engage. >> That said he breaks to the side and tries to corral the technicians with Rogue on the other side.
Quickly he scans his surroundings and tells the comm, << What am I looking at, Tony? >> As he starts to move within the facility, seeking what might be making all of that racket. Besides Hulk.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue does indeed toss Cap once they're out of the hole... well, she shoves him forward more than tosses him, because she knows she's unleashing a world of hurt on the targets Cap deems worthy of it. Its kind of fun to unleash the Cap! So she's grinning after doing it and watching his fierce attacks. He was something els---!

Focus, Rogue!

The southern bell floats over to a metal chair and she picks it up before floating over to a group of scared-confused-looking scientists. "Heya'yall." Rogue says to them while literally wadding the metal chair up into a ball in front of them, as a display of her strength. "Why don't ya'll go sit over there in that corner, cross-legged with your hands in your lap and just... be quiet little peaches."

She drops the metal ball that used to be a chair onto the ground with a loud thud. Letting them see what she's capable of

Hulk has posed:
<<Hulk tired of this. Hulk SMASH!>> The last sentence is a roar as Hulk charges right up into the military styled humvee, knocking it over with just enough force to turn it upside down.

Then, he's heading over to the two vans, smashing in their engine blocks to be sure they can't get away. The firepower? He's ignoring it for now as he focuses on trapping them.

Iron Man has posed:
"Back the hell /OFF/, freak," Monroe, clearly one of the military leaders, snarls loudly at the oncoming Hulk, gun to one of the mutant hostages' heads, pressed right up against the hood of the now lightly sobbing person. He's seated directly in the back of the van Hulk was coming towards the engine of. He's behind them, one hand tense on the shoulder, gripping the hostage. There are the other three hostages around him, and his other personnel. Hulk thinks he can just slam his way through? Monroe thinks otherwise.
The technicians don't want to fight Rogue and Captain America. In fact, one of them just GAPES at the Captain, and kind of offers him the toxin he was holding. "They don't pay us enough. We surrender!" the woman by him says.

<<Hey, just so you know, these guys are trying to come be backup. I'm holding them off. You got hostages? I don't see any here,>> Tony supplies over the comms. <<Cap, I think priority is getting the last hostages out of there before that place comes down on your head and theirs. I'll send a drone to lead you to the -- hang on.>> Tony's got some gunfire and other noises. << Whiskey Machine, give Cap backup, will you, to those other hostages in that interior? Looked like far basement. Come back here, you--->>

The room Captain America and Rogue is in has the surrendered techs in it, and the machine still generating canisters, as well as three branching hallways. It looks like it splits into lab rooms, medical tables, that sort of thing.

Erddrache has posed:
Of course, Boris wasn't the only mutant around. With him were two other mutants who were probably just as dangerous...and saw each others as enemies to be fought with and delt with as the Fear made them moe of Fighters than Flyers. One such mutant was a 'minor' telepath. She unleashes a massive psychic Screech that broadcasts for several blocks, causing massive painful migrains and headaches to to all possible minds within her reach!

The other mutant, pained by this grabs his ear, his fear pushed forward, his tongue much longer than one would appear lashes out! Within seconds he drops several guards in pain, a large circular puncture wound in each of their torsos.
None the less the three split away from each other. With Boris himself burrowing into the earth itself, seeming to dissappear...even as his tremors continue...and were getting worse.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is motivated into action with this most recent development. The speed at which she needs to move is moderately blinding. Officially, this has escalated beyond something she can just -watch.- She starts booking it down, speaking into something all the while. "I can hear it." she states, diving below the crust of the Earth. Left unchecked, this quake is going to tear this island apart, and she knows that. "Yes, I'm doing the thing."

Below the surface, Power Girl's hands thrust into the crust of the Earth. This will not stop the quake- and she knows that as well. It's not hard to tell when something like this is being -caused- by someone or someThing rather than being natural. Problem is, she can't just let it run its course.

With an angry noise, her arms flex, as she drives both hands into the meat of the island. The stuff of legends, her arms then pull together, so as to assist in knitting the island back into one piece- even though it's a temporary measure, it means that, hopefully, the island won't be sinking any time soon.

Captain America has posed:
"Put them all down, gentlemen, ladies. Right here," Captain America's voice is firm as he then moves as quickly as he can securing them even as he looks towards the three hallways. He frowns at Rogue and then says, "Looks like we should have brought another..." He says as he then looks at the small drone that's hovering and beeping even as its sensors continue to scan.
"Drone buddy, you have the middle." He nods towards Rogue, "You got the left, I'll take the right." And with that said he'll break into a run sprinting down the way.

Iron Man has posed:
Drone buddy SO has the middle. It beeps excitedly at Captain America. DRONE BUDDY has a special mission! It zips off, so pleased to help.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue watches all the science-nerds she ordered to sit down all comply and she gives them a smile from behind her mask. To Cap she turns then and smiles at him. "We'll be fine, sugh." She says at the Shield-throwing man in the spangled-stars.

She flies after him and the drone and is about to speak up and say another little Rogue'ism, when she's suddenly hit by that psychic brain blast and it drops her!

The southern belle drops out of the air and slides across the floor on her knees, her gloved hands going up to clutch at the sides of her head as she's groaning from the pain inside her head now! So there's a hitch in the plan.

Hulk has posed:
<<Hulk not like bullies.>> Hulk stops dead in his tracks as he watches Monroe, teeth barred in silent snarl. He's already dealt with the other two vans... and Hulk isn't about to get people killed. There's a small sniff from one side of his face as he 'feels' the attempt at hitting his mind, but it just bounces off of him mentally, like all telepathic attacks do.

War Machine has posed:
<Now you're playing my song.> There's not even a sound as something zips through crashing into the building. It's black on a black background as it slams into the compound sending debris flying in every direction. Landing with a single fist into the ground a figure stands up slowly next to cap. It's a suit of pitch black armor sleek and professional looking. Out from each shoulder pops a rack of small missises the barrel of a chain gun lifting up out from lower on the shoulder blade as weapons slide out into view the hands starting to glow. "Evening cap. Word on the street is you're due for some backup."

Iron Man has posed:
A great deal of people feel that psychic blast. It isn't just heroes. Monroe seems 'lucky', but his captive doesn't, she screams, as do various people all over the compound. All the lab techs in the previous room that Cap and Rogue left drop to their knees. Some of the random shooting at Hulk stops, because of it.
"Yeah, snarl away. Back off, or her head is splattered all over," Monroe threatens, and bangs his fist on the side of his van, yelling at his driver. "Move us out. We're good to go." One of the men with him starts to close the van doors, while Monroe smirks at Hulk.
Rogue found some scientists and a medical bay with a dead body in it. The two scientists are brain-blasted and one of them passes out at Rogue's left. The other stumbles away to try to run.
In Captain America and Rhodey's zone, there's one scientists that immediately runs, with his big black bag, top speed out towards the front: he'll lead them directly out to the courtyard where all the action is, if they give chase. However, the drone beeple-beeps. And Tony translates: <<Hostages found by the drone. Counting seven. Unconscious. Popping them onto your HUD, Whiskey Machine.>>.

Erddrache has posed:
The psychic girl telepathic attack seems to constantly switch off, not targetting any one specific group of people, except for those actually near her, while everyone else is random. So one moment the migrains could be present and another moment gone. But either way she was on the move trying to keep distance from everything that scared her.

The tongued mutant was much more aggressive. His tongue lashes quicker than the normal human can see (much like a chameleon) kept lashing out. Lashing out at people, objects, even the ground. Leaving a puncture hole where-ever he could. At some point this tongue mutant even goes after the hulk - the tongue lashing out in an attempt to tag the big guy. Everyone was a valid target for attack when Feared.

Boris meanwhile was continueing his move underground. Boris earthquakes continue. And as he moves so does the power quake, the mutant able to be tracked by a trail of destruction. A few meters away a building actually begins comming down, and fences are uprooted. Boris quakes were not exactly powerful enough to bring down an entire island. Sure it could rip apart the earth, and open chasms, etc, but there was little danger of the entire island comming down.

Captain America has posed:
On the comms, Cap's voice comes across urgently, << Need support to the drone's location for recovery. I'm in pursuit. >>
And true to his word he breaks into a run following that one scientist that's making a break for it and leading him on through the hallway. The scientist has quite the head start, but Captain America starts to eat up the distance quickly, breaking around the corner and running up and along the side of the wall over an errant gurney that had been pulled into his way. He flips forwards and then just as the scientist is breaking through the door he throws his shield.
It /wharoms!/ across the distance and imbeds int the doorjam, narrowly missing the man as he makes it out into the courtyard. But doesn't have much time to reflect on it as Cap is able to /dive/ and tackle him through the door, rolling across the ground even as he holds up his hand and the shield twists and twitches then yanks out of the door with another low, /whrum/.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is too deep to be subject to the psychic screams, but at the same time, she also can't stay where she is. Boris moves, and so does the epicenter- resulting in the pressure she's under relaxing heavily as he moves. It's at that point that she understands that her attempt to alleviate things is not particularly tenable.

Boris is easy to find, and Power Girl can't just let him go- especially as she notes that he's taken to burrowing rather than traveling on the surface. The noise she makes is this loud, annoyed grunt- and she detaches from the Earth, looking through the crust of it with her x-ray vision. She then starts hauling, surging forward and doing her best to avoid matters of superstructure as she seeks out Boris.

When she finds him? If she finds him? It'll be a matter of getting him out of there, perhaps even knocking him unconscious if she has to- but this problem does not seem to be an easy fix.

Rogue has posed:
When Rogue's migraine goes away she looks up to find herself in a med bay with some science-nerds on the floor having their own head issues. She rises up to her booted feet and walks over toward the body. "Oh great... ya'll are that kinda a-holes huh? Killin' people for your own sick experiments?" Rogue looks over at one of the science-nerds crumpled over beside her and she reaches up and shoves them with her boot, causing them to slam into the ground and slide across it into the wall against their back!

She moves over to the dead body and looks down at them, unlikely she'd recognize it! "We'll get you outta here, whoever you are. Or were." And thats said with a small frown.

Iron Man has posed:
The scientist collapses when pounced on by Captain America, eating cement as he flops onto his face and his bag goes flying. It spills open, though nothing falls out: the contents were fairly secured, but there's a tray of syringes visible in the top, several missing. From earlier interactions with Boris and friends. He's in no shape to do anything but mumble some nonsense at Captain America.

The corpse that was a corpse... whimpers at Rogue. It's creepy as hell. "Thank you," The corpse-mutant says to Rogue, her white eyes opening, some tears there. She tries to wriggle from her restraints. "I'm immune to fear. They--- didn't like it," she murmers.

Tony's voice returns to the comm. << On my way over now, Bat-people showed to back this up here. Status? >>

Captain America has posed:
<< In progress. >> Is Cap's response even as he locks down that scientist he tackled. He rises up on one knee and abruptly just barely brings his shield up in time when that tongue from the young mutant /clangs/ off of his shield even as he starts to feel the intense _pressure_ building up in his head by the telepath.
He reaches up and grabs one of the pressured containers from his shoulder as he hunkers down behind his shield and breaks to the side. A few more tongue snaps lash out in his direction while he moves, kicking up dust and cement fragments. But he wings that aerosolized cure container over the lip of his shield. It spins end over end, flashing out just fast enough to get close enough in front of the fear-toxin affected mutant.
Hopefully just in time for the next strike from that tongue.

Hulk has posed:
<<Puny human is funny, thinks van will stop Hulk>> Hulk growls as the tongue hits him, and he shakes his head slightly in pain at the sudden hit. Then, he's leaping.

Leaping to intercept the van trying to get away, and charging the few dozen feet to force the van to either crash into him and knock them all out... or run off against a building, and knock them all out.

Erddrache has posed:
The psychic continue her psychic switching wails, but otherwise continues to remain as hidden as best as possible.

In the meanwhile the Tongue mutant continues his assult on Hulk - his tongue lashing out dozens of time to strike the big green behemoth as he seemed to be the largest threat around here. However a new threat has appeared in Captain America as he switches target.
The tongue is unable to peice Caps shield. But it doesn't stop the barrage. As Cap throws the caniser, the tongue instincively lashes out piecing the canister and letting a gas form of the cure leak out. The gas spreads quickly takeing out both the tongue mutant and the psychic scream who now both stop seemning dazed and confused, but no longer on the offensive

As for Boris who is underground. Power Girl was of course able to find him thanks to her X-ray vision. And the mutant....seemed to be quite litterly swimming through the earth like a fish in water. As she get closer, Boris senses her comming and the hero would find the earth becomming more and more compact as she follows him....until the mutant turns tail and swimms towards her, the seismic shockwaves being increasing in power as he moves to actually ram....end her really as if she was the one that was trying to hurt him or worse. This switch of obectives at least makes it so the ground above is not shaking as much.

War Machine has posed:
Rhodey follows along behind the drone. <You know what Tony, not even mad, I earned that nickname.> Swooping through the hallways his motions almost completely silence save a quiet hum of the suit. It's barely even audible like a modern fridge cooling down more then a suit of armor barreling down the hallways. <Gonna get that tatto'd on my arm next time I'm too drunk to remember what a terrible idea that is.> Finally he makes it to the hostages and sets down looking over to Rogue "What's the sitrep?" As he moves over to check on the hostages.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue jumps when the body 'talks' to her and she places a hand over her chest before she reaches up to remove her mask and set it aside. "Hey." She says to the mutant girl who she'd THOUGHT was dead. "Sorry about that, ya startled me." She flashes a grin at the girl and then reaches to pick her up. "Come on, lets get you outta here, huh?" She says. Unless otherwise stopped, Rogue would move to pick the mutant up and then start to float back out of the lab to go find an exit while she listens to the comm chatter from the others.

Iron Man has posed:
Hulk slams that van as it tries to escape. It spins, breaking an axel as it rotates with a screech into the side of the fence, tearing a section out, and starting to tumble. There's loud gunfire inside the van. That can't be good: that van contains military people and hostages. Hostages are usually somewhat allergic to gunfire.
"Thank you," Corpse girl says to Rogue, entirely willing to be rescued and carried, and begins to sob loudly. She didn't manage to give her name, she's a little stressed out. Rhodes found the other eight: most of them are unconscious, though, and won't be walking by themselves. Some of them are aware enough to direct to help the others, if Rhodes has the patience to work with them.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is burrowing her own way, forcing herself forward, but not in such a linear line as Boris. She has to weave around structures, and were she any less than the person she is, she'd have no idea what to avoid and how. Still, it delays her capture of Boris for a short few moments... Or, rather, it would, if he didn't spin and come flying.

The sound goes nowhere, but she does speak. "Oh boy, you have no idea what's about to happen to you. I'm so sorry."

Admittedly, she is not at all trying to disintegrate a subterranean Dwarf, especially one that had a sack over his head a while ago. He could be some strange cultist- or he could be a former hostage. Therefore, kid gloves. As he approaches, she draws one arm back, and measures the strength she needs to deliver.

Sweeping through the stone of the Earth comes a fist, aiming to collide with the dwarf just as he gets within arm's reach. It's only just enough strength to half-again hit the dwarf with his own force- meaning, when he hits her, it'll combine with his own momentum. If she hits him, it's just slightly less pleasant than colliding with her chest- or, rather, it is grossly and incredibly less pleasant than that by massive orders of magnitude, all things considered.

War Machine has posed:
Rhodes is calm and collected in working with the remaining hostages doing his best to remove them from the danger one at a time once he's blasted a hole clean through the ceiling of the room and up to the open air. This place wasn't going to be reused anyway. He takes his time to make sure the job is done right getting civilians to safety is the most important thing right now.

Captain America has posed:
Captain America rises and moves quickly towards the young mutants as the cure hopefully does its thing. He doesn't leap at them with violence in mind, but instead holds his hands up as he looks between the two of them. "Alright. Calm down you two." He steps forwards and says, "Help's on its way, everything is going to be alright."
Touching a hand to his ear, Cap announces on the comms, << Going to need a team to sweep the building... >>
But then he hears the sound of the gunfire within the vehicle and he frowns, rounding abruptly he breaks into another run. << Code red, hostages endangered, secure that van and secure it now! >>
He sprints and tries to rebound off of an already overturned vehicle and use that height to /leap/ towards the top of the vehicle and then rapidly will flip over to try and crash into the confines of the cabin.

Hulk has posed:
Already in front of the van, Hulk is going for the disoriented people inside already, quickly crushing any firearms or other weapons, and tossing out any active hostiles into the street for Captain America to deal with, <<Hulk doesn't like bullies. Puny humans never learn.>> Hulk grates as he works.

Monroe? Hulk reaches out to grab him if he's found, or at least keep him from being an active threat to anyone else.

Iron Man has posed:
The interior of the van is SO full of blood. And crying. Three of the hostages are shot, in various places, and one is flung and unconscious. Because the van was hit hard and there were guns in there. Two of the military men are sorting the situation out until Hulk grabs them and they SCREAM. They are so flung away, yep. There's bullet-filled hostages in the way of Hulk's grabbing for Monroe, though. Monroe was getting to his feet, still dragging one of the hostages who is now bleeding from an arm. He was good on his threat: he did start to shoot the hostages: it just wasn't very organized since the van was being spun and flipped. As Captain America appears as well, crashing in through the side panel suddenly in his face, Monroe makes a bad decision: he orients the gun at Captain America and opens fire, instead of keeping it on the hostage.

Rhodes successfully saves hostages, relocating them. Iron Man has arrived as well, and looks after some stray militants via blasting, and also the two mutants in the center courtyard, getting them out of the way, comminicating quickly with Whiskey Machine.

Erddrache has posed:
Considering how Boris swims hrough the earth - the strike from Power Girl was enough to send the dwarf hurling upwards through the ground and up into the air a few dozen feet! The ground stops shaking completely for a few moments, before the Dwarf lands back down onto the ground with a thud.
The amount of force Boris had exterted, along with the forcd Power Girl struck him with left him dazed. He stands up, the only mark of his exit being a 'ripple imprint' in the concrete. The ground was quacking, but not nearly as har. At most cars near him on shaking, but little more as he stagger about trying to refocus himself. Unbeknowest to him due to the adreneine pumping through his system - the dwarf had some broken ribs, and a massive bruise where he was struck. But he wasn't down yet, if only for the fact the experiment increased his durability. But he also didn't seem in a position to be fighting as much either.

Captain America has posed:
A heavy thud, and then crunch as the star-spangled defender lands and makes that twisting transition down and around. There's a clang from inside the van as Captain America's boots hit the floor, his shield coming up instinctively. Suddenly there and suddenly in the face of Monroe, Captain reacts with blurringly fast reflexes. The red white and blue discus smashes forwards to try and break the wrist and push the weapon /away/ from the hostages while he seeks to control the man's other hand while lashing low with the instep of his boot towards the man's knee.
It's all a rapid combination, seeking to at the least isolate the target and his potential for violence, and at the most put him down and put him down hard.

Hulk has posed:
For his part, Hulk just keeps things under control while Captain America does his thing. Puny humans are easily dealt with after all, and Hulk wants to be sure the other 'soldiers' aren't a threat anymore. if anyone seems like they will be? They get knocked out with a punch.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is in the process of leaving the complex after having kicked down a door. She's holding the mutant woman who's weeping in her arms and she's stepping outside to then take to the skies. This person gets priority-one treatment from the fellow mutant. Once air born she's speaking over the comms <<Takin' one'a the prisoners t'safety. Looking for a cop car or somethin' along those lines.>> She announces to anyone else who can hear her on the Avengers channel.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl rises from the hole the dwarf had made mere moments after he lands. When her feet touch the ground, she takes a moment to assess his condition. She can see through his flesh at his broken ribs, and at the same time she is muttering to herself. "Come on, come on, just fall down."

When he doesn't, and seems even to be getting ready to shake things up again, Power Girl surges forward, the world around her turning to slow-motion, as she walks through the rippling air and slips her hand forward, trying to grab Boris up by the neck.

At the same time, she's trying to listen for familiar voices- ones that sound like they're in control. Tony, maybe Steve, the other Avengers who would, hopefully, have something to deal with someone under the influence.

Iron Man has posed:
Hulk disposes of the driver, and passenger seat guy that tried to sneak away. Their guns get squished into nothing, and most others have surrendered at the sight!
The mutant shot in the arm and in Monroe's possession has woken up, some. She's started to turn orange, and glow with heat. "Augh!" Monroe reacts, shoving her forwards towards Hulk as if she'd be a shield from the green menace, but he can't do that AND deal with Captain America at the same time. He parries the wrist shot, as strong military combatant himself, but the slam to his instep of boot throws off his stance and Captain America comes in hard into the opening, to slam Monroe's weapon away. One of the hostages, now without a hood: a teenager with long blue hair makes a grab for the gun, to try to help by throwing it out of the van, even though he's holding his shot leg. Captain America is inspiring: it shows in the eyes of the injured guy.

Iron Man is visible above the area moving a hostage, Power Girl will see him right away. He puts down his hostage, then actually orients on her, as well, and immediately flies over. "What've you got?" he calls to her. "Crazed mutant? We have an antidote. Are there more loose?"

Erddrache has posed:
Boris struggles in Power Girls grasps. Yes he was a crazed mutant who was kicking and flailing as he was lifted by the neck. His spiked tail was even trashing about, and he tried more than once to try and stab Power Girl with his bone blades, which likely wouldn't do much if anything to her. He was speaking rapidly in german quite angrily, and fearfully.

Captain America has posed:
Inside the confines of the van, Cap is a brutally effective combatant as he presses hard against the man and slams him into the wall, then on the rebound catches him with the rim of the shield and uses that to guide him down, pin him, and plant a boot on his throat. Looking up abruptly he turns to the hostages and the injured, "Who's hurt? We've got medics incoming. Get clear."
"Hulk back up, people coming out!" Cap shouts as he then kneels to secure Monroe with a quick zip tie before he moves to make sure that any others can get clear and if anyone is seriously injured.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl stands there for a moment as Tony arrives, and her head turns. "Yeah, crazed mutant is the right word. He was tearing shit up with some sort of seismic power, I really didn't have a whole lot of choice." she notes, looking back at Boris while his tail bounces off of the impervious body holding him so tightly.

"He's a tough one, so you won't be able to get a needle into him, I don't know if there are any others. I was only asked to keep an eye on the green guy."

Hulk has posed:
The van dealt with, Hulk backs up as requested, and starts to walk over to the lab proper. By this time, there's practically a junkyards worth of bullets where he was being shot at earlier, and he reaches down to pick up every single firearm he was being shot with... and slowly crushing them with a satisfied look, before allowing the compacted remains to drop. "Hulk can hear you, Girl Blondie."

Iron Man has posed:
"Good too know, and that's fine. Aerosol it is. Take a deep breath," Tony says, though it isn't like the crazed armored rock mutant will actually listen to him, as he draws forward an aerosol container of the antidote, giving a liberal spray in a misty cloud for poor Boris. "We've got a spot just over there -- see the others? We'll debrief them after they've been looked over by medical. Thanks for chiming in to help," Tony says to Power Girl, relief in his tone through his helmet. "I'm off to do a lab pass. If you find any others, that's the spot," Tony says, with a cocky little salute, blasting off back down towards the laboratory.

Captain America and the teams that arrive to assist can help those injured, and the mutants from the van, despite being shot, seem stable. Monroe enters into custody, and general cleanup begins.

<< Well done, Avengers. Let's make sure nobody's left behind, and get something to eat. Why do these always happen just before dinner? >> Tony asks over the comms.

War Machine has posed:
Rhodes is carrying the last woman to safety, a bombshell blonde right settled into his arms. Her mutation isn't entirely obvious from looking at her but as he goes to set her down she wakes up, and gives him a big hug. "Thank you Iron Man, I always knew we'd be rescued by Tony Stark." And he just can't say anything. He just silently sets her down after she kisses the faceplate of the armor slowly and carefully. He's not going to let it get to him. He takes a deep breath and flies back over to the rest of the group.
