The Last of the Kryptonians
Date of Scene: 14 May 2018
Location: Pacific Ocean
Synopsis: When Kryptonians need saving, having lots of non-Kryptonian friends really helps!
Cast of Characters: Mon-El, Crusader, Superman, Green Lantern (Jordan), Kaelyn Silverleaf, Shazam, Andromeda, Supergirl

Mon-El has posed:
A broadband distress call has gone out on all publicly accessible channels, informing all who might possibly be listening and/or watching that Kara Zor-El, better known to the general populace as Supergirl, is in serious trouble. The message contains a video of a weakened Kara confined to a kryptonite-laced containment cell barely large enough to fit her body. She appears to be on some alien ship, the coordinates of which were broadcast along with the video. It's not long before the media is buzzing about this report, given Supergirl's reputation; however since no innocent human lives appear to be at risk, most Terran authorities have deemed it best to leave this situation to powered individuals and 'specialists' who are most likely better equipped to deal with someone who is powerful enough to best a Kryptonian. And certainly, her own cousin Superman will have to come to the rescue, too. Right? Yeah, the way this was clearly and deliberately broadcasted to the whole world definitely smells like a trap, but since when has that ever stopped the Man of Steel and others with similarly idealistic views from going after their loved ones?

Whoever traces the location will find that it's in the middle of the Pacific, likely either underwater or on some island too tiny for the map. And, if anyone follows the trail there, they will indeed find an alien ship perched on a small island--one of Daxamite origin if able to recognize it as such from prior experience or studies. But anyone familiar with spacecraft at all would immediately observe that it is equipped for battle, weapons charged and ready should the need arise. Presently the door to the hangar is open, and there are a dozen guards in environment suits and wielding kryptonite weapons waiting inside. And who knows how much more of the stuff they've got inside, too. Yep it's definitely a trap, nothing new there!

Crusader has posed:
Well there is an earth-bound saying - don't bring a knife to a gun fight. Well one such hero after seeing the broadcast certainly planned to adhere to this rule - by bringing his own ship - The StarPiercer.
Presently in stealth-mode, Crusader soars to the coordinates as fast as his ship could take him. His ship already atuned to JL Comms and muses in "One is approaching the coordinates now. Careful, one does not have a visual on the inside...but there is a ship, and it is clearly armed for battle." he warns anyone that could here him on the specified frequency.
Himnce close enough slows down as to not give away his position and carefully does his best to moniteer the situation, before making any moves

Superman has posed:
Well...let's be honest. Clark Kent is a reporter so news feeds are sort of his thang. Then of course, there's the fact that Kara is family. Add to that his somewhat unnatural speed, and yeah, Kal-El won't take very long to get to this island. That said, given time to politely make his excuses and to change, it's always possible he'll get there around the same time as everyone else. Of course, the kryptonite-laced room would encourage Kal to take the slightly more cautious approach and stop a ways off short. I mean...even at 100, 200 yards off shore it'd take what, .4 seconds to close the distance? Ahhh, the lifestyles of the stupid powerful. Still though, Clark is Clark, and Smallville, doesn't resort to violence first. And so he stops off shore, hovering over the water, cape blowing with the ocean breeze. "There are easier ways to get my attention..." he calls out with that booming voice, arms folded over his chest. Superman no look happy.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
While flying over Star City, Green Lantern Hal Jordan gets a distress signal on his ring. After determining where it was coming from, Hal uses his will, and streaks towards it as fast as he can within an atmosphere. When the ring translates the message, and sends him the video, he pushes himself even beyond that limitation. Grinding his teeth, Hal pushes himself, saying, "Come on, come on...faster..." The warning he gets from his ring about the planet, the sound barrier, etc., he ignores, trying to get there as fast as he can.

As he flies over the Pacific Ocean, just above the water, Hal can sense the effect his speed was having on the environment. Slowing down so as to not cause catastrophic damage, he sees the oncoming island...and the trap. Not quite stealthy, Hal slows down, not wanting to rush in and get Kara killed. Against his instincts he slows, and tries to think about what to do next.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
There's a blue glowing circle, then a brief vision on what appears to be the other side, those familiar might recognize Nowhere... Then well Kae can be seen hopping through the glowy verticle mystical hoola-hoop. The tall redheaded woman has her normal backpack on but also in her hand is a broom? At least her foot is resting somehow on the item that's held at a 45 degree angle, suggesting just how she's standing right now. Odd thing to bring to something like this, then again she could have just kind of dropped in, probably litterally...

As the hoola-hoop closes up, a raven on her shoulder pipes up. "Might not have been the best place to appear at..." Kae then umms "Well I've still not gotten full hang of gating this far Poe..." The Raven nods its head briefly "Understood Mistress..., MOre practice is in order..." Kae turns and looks at the bird... "Obviously..."

Shazam has posed:
Billy Batson had watched the broadcast go out from a store window, almost immediately the young teen ran to an alleyway and yelled out "SHAZAM!"

The lightning that was called down changes young Billy into Earth's Mightiest Mortal: Captain Marvel! (Or Shazam, whatever floats your boat.) The Big Red Cheese takes flight almost immediately, heading for the coordinates. Other members of the Justice League are there. He lowers to join Superman as a show of teamwork, that kryptonite May be bad news for Clark, but Billy can take it. "Any response yet?" He asks, observing, and awaiting orders.

Mon-El has posed:
When Kal and everyone else arrive at the door, surprisingly the guards do not attack--yet. Two people emerge from inside, also wearing the suits but these have a few more fancy motfis on them as a symbol of status. No surprise, as this would be Queen Rhea and King Del Gand of Daxam. Behind them, another smaller group of guards is carrying the box with Kara in it. They set her down on the floor behind their 'benevolent' rulers.

Rhea smirks triumphantly when she sees that Kal is here. "Kal El. We've been expecting you--granted, a bit sooner than you did, given how fast we all know you are. But maybe dear little Kara isn't as important to you as we thought." she shrugs. "Well, never mind. The point is, you will now answer for your crimes against Daxam, Kryptonian." she draws her own blade, also coated with kryptonite. "As for the rest of you--I have no quarrel with you, but if you're stupid enough to defend them, then I will have no choice but to destroy you as well! Guards, kill them!"

And with that, the soldiers open fire with everything they've got. Some fire projectile weapons, while others charge in with blades and spears.

Andromeda has posed:
Sensors might read a rapidly approaching object. It abruptly changed course on its way past Mars and redirected itself in the direction of the ship, starting to rapidly accelerate it. That object is a woman. Six feet tall, with long blonde hair and brilliant green eyes, wearing a pleated blue skirt, sharply pressed red blazer, and the Legion of Superheroes insignia. It's Laurel Gand, codenamed Andromeda, and she appears to be coming in hot.

"This is Andromeda, calling to anyone reading Legionnaire frequencies. Is there a response team on the way for the Supergirl situation?" Laurel descendsas this is called out, rapidly decelerating and hitting the deck with a sharp clang.

The woman switches to speaking aloud. "My name is Laurel Gand. You do *not* speak for Daxam here." Laurel moves to intercept the spear wielders, prepared to throw them hard enough to leave impressions in the nearest walls.

Crusader has posed:
Crusader grunts saying over the Comms "Well that escalated quickly. May as well return the favor. One is comming in hot." he says over the comms. Kaelyne apparance did not bypass Crusader...and a little magical help could be...well helpful!
With the position of Green Lantern and Superman in mind. However his ship pickups Laurel Gand on his radar and she is quickly factored in as well. "Just a big ol' party...well" he grins within his ship "Gunzerker time!"
And with that crusader opens fires, staing in stealth mode, he fires a barrage of lazer beams. Considering they were dealing with daximites...he wasn't overly worried about damageing folks. The barrage of lazor aiming for those wielding projetile weapons in partiuclar...but all avoiding hitting near Queen Biatchery and King Jackarsery! mostly so he doesn't hit the box will Kara.

Superman has posed:
It seems he's the one they want, and so Kal is going to do what he can to keep their attention on him. "Get Kara...." he says to Green Lantern, specifically, the two of them being on the same team of course but it's clear that his intention is that no matter what happens, Supergirl makes it out of here alive. For himself, he starts with the most obvious thing he can think of and with all those projectiles and people coming at him, he shoots down into the water. There's the sight of bubbles moving, quickly, swirling around the island, once...twice...okay he's pretty fast and if you tried to count it there's a highl ikelihood that your eyes would end up rolling into the back of your head.

What may possibly not be expected however is him coming up on the other side of the island, a water spout following him upwards, spinning behind his tailwind and then rolling towards the island, -crashing- down on the back of the ship, on the people charging out of it. The island's sand quickly gets saturated, making walking and running more difficult, perhaps even affecting the footing of those running.

"What crimes?" Superman of course knows little, if anything, of Daxam other than what he's been told by those he's met here. Having been a babe since he left Krypton, his 'crimes' are difficult to envision.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Hal moves forward, taps the comms, and says, "Acknowledged," to Crusader. "Be careful. Supes and Marvel are here as well. Fire in the hole!" Hal then moves up, and hovers closer to Superman, and notes that Captain Marvel was also present. "Gentlemen" Hal says in greeting. "Looks like we have our work cut out for us." Nodding at the "Get Kara" comment, Hal says, "Will do."

Looking at the guards, the ship, and where Kara was, Hal sighs, and adds, "It's never easy." His eyes scan the area, and notes the blue glowing circle. Nodding towards it, Hal says, "Company."

When everyone opens fire, Hal is ready. Smirking in disdain at the speech, Hal says, "Superman, if you need my help protecting you from the Kryptonite, just let me know. I'll see what I can do about getting her out of this...mess." Ka-Pew! The sound of one of the projectile blasts richochetting off his energy screens. "Looks like they mean business."

Spotting Laurel Gand as well, Hal says, "Wow, the big guns are here...Kara has a lot of friends." Leaping into action, Hal uses his trademark big, green boxing glove to try and take down one of the bad guys aiming from the less invulnerable teammates.

Shazam has posed:
Captain Marvel speeds into the fray, throwing haymakers as fast as guards come running. He hasn't fought many Daxamites, but the others don't seem to be pulling punches. He's keeping his feet off the ground, opting to hover and hit where he can against the incoming combatants.

"Lemme know if you need backup, Hal." He mentions, Cap of course, always trying to be helpful.

Mon-El has posed:
By the time Laurel arrives, the battle is well underway, so her comments go ignored. Her attacks, however, do send a few of the spear wielders flying into some rock formations near the edge of the water. They take a moment to recover, then raise the spears again. "Why would you fight against your own people, traitor?!" they shout as red laser blasts fire out of the the weapons toward her.

As Crusader starts shooting full power with his ship's weapon systems, the Daxamites start to respond in kind. As in, open fire with -their- weapons systems. His ship may be invsible, but with enough tracking algoorithms, it isn't hard to figure out where the blasts are coming from at such a close range. Missile launchers emerge from the sides of the hull, locking onto his position and firing a pair of explosive projectiles.

Rhea glares at Kal when he doesn't seem to know what she's talking about. "Don't play stupid with me!" she shouts, but before she can even finish, he's created a miniature tidal wave that smashes into the ship, knocking over some of the reinforcements that had been on their way out. Some of them get smashed into the walls of the craft and knocked out, while others fly up and out of the way. No more depending on the ground, it seems. As for the queen, she takes to the air herself and charges at Kal, kryptonite blade in a hand and ready to strike a killing blow--unless Kal's friends can protect him in time!

Hal's boxing glove and Billy's frantic haymakers do send a few of the guards reeling, even as they were still recovering from that big unexpected wave. It's a good thing they haven't been around Earth for nearly as long as someone like Lar or Laurel have. So while they can fly and certainly don't need pulled punches, they aren't quite on that level! A couple of them try to gain some altitude on Hal and Billy, then divebomb and knock them down with the shockwave.

Andromeda has posed:
"Why are you attacking earth? This is the second time Daxamites have arrived here and attacked without warning. Tell me what he /did/?!" Laurel crosses her arms in front of herself as red light washes over her. Steam is rising off of her skin but the woman seems more or less unharmed.

Laurel shouts again hoarsely, "Tell me what is going *on*? We're supposed to be on the same side. But you kidnap Kara? Attempt to kill Kal? Speak to me!" THen the red and blue garbed legionnaire launches herself at Rhea with a growl of frustration, intent on intercepting her assault on Kal and forcing a face-to-face.

Crusader has posed:
Not with Crusader in the air! Without a second though, Crusader fires a hard hitting lazer at Rhea as she flies towards Superman with the Kryptonite sword.
tUnfortantly this tactic had an unfortante side effect - he didn't have time to stop the missiles from hittingf his ship. the ship rocks back and forth and alarms go off "One is hit, One is hit. Captain Marvel one suggest pairing fighting along side SuperMan." he was quickly analzying the scene "Green lantern, one suggest teaming up with this Laurel Gand to retriche Supergirls coffer." his ship flickers into appearance, the hull clearly damaged.

"Shifting to defense." and with that the ship actually begins to shift shape - becomming bulkier, weapons less powerful as the ship enters into a defensive form to protect from further damage. Even with the less powerful weapons - he continues to fire upon guards...but than quickly changes tactics to fire upon the opposing ships Weapons. unfortantly, he doesn't have Legion Frequncies on his comms, nor anyway to communite with kaelyne at the moment.

Superman has posed:
Superman does see the woman coming at him, and the blade. He launches back, putting some distance between her and her upward trajectory. Fortunately, there are two people looking after him, intercepting, deflecting the attack so that he can start to get around. Two people came out of the ship when he arrived, not just one, and Superman is looking for the second and he avoids, nimbly enough, the aerial assault. Those cannons though...they're going to be a problem. If they're not eliminated soon...

But he has another objective. "Whoever you are...." he calls again, trying to move back and avoid directly getting involved just yet..."There is no reason for this to go to its inevitable path. You can leave alive, and leave me with my cousin. Clearly this is a misunderstanding." But there's a tone in his voice, "I don't want to have to hurt you..." and it's genuine. But there's also a confidence, a knowledge. He does know how to hurt them just as they do him. It is only his restraint, his desire for justice and peace, that holds him back.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Smiling, as Hal leaps into the fray right after Captain Marvel. "Thanks Cap! I appreciate the help." Hal smiles, firing a green haymaker at the next bad guy in line. They were tough though. Wading through the bad guys was tough, but slowly and surely, they were making headway.

Laurel was in a better spot to deflect the killing blow on Superman. ALthough he wanted to will himself there, he was too far away. Hopefully Laurel can do the job, while he concentrates on getting Kara out of this mess!

Heading for where she was caged up, Hal uses all of his willpower to fire a triple bladed key towards the cage, in an attempt to free Kara from captivity! "Here goes nothing!" After all, who expects the Green Lantern to be the one to free her, and not one of the heavy hitters out there! "Marvel, watch my back! Tossing a Hail Mary!"

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae is watching all the fighting, the woman activating pretty much every little protection spells she's got considering the power levels here.... She looks around, realizing that folk want Supergirl and of course she tries to find them...

Kae continues to look around, then lifts her phone and tries to directly contact Crusader... << Maybe give me an exact location of Supergirl? I might be able to transmute her prison.>> She says and then her eyes lock in on the green sword going after Kal'El... "Oooy, this isn't good... " She mutters to her self, then sits on her broom in lotus position as her hands begin to move, making rather complex motions in the air. Those who have exceptional hearing or those attuned to the mystic might even hear an unintelligable whisper coming from the woman as she tries to focus in on the Kryptonites... << Gonna try to put a protective barrier around the Kryptonites, maybe that will help block the influence of the kryptonite. Not sure though...>> She says...

Mon-El has posed:
Laurel's foes seem boggled by the idea that she doesn't know, either. Is there a 'stupidity' field around Earth or something? "We have no quarrel with Earth, why do you think we're all the way out here and not in the middle of one of its cities? We only want Krypton to answer for its crimes against our homeworld! The only Terrans getting attacked are the ones defending the Kryptonians!" They were about to prepare for another assault, but then she bolts away toward Rhea instead!

Almost immediately after the first missiles hit, more are on the way. However, these don't do as much damage as the first, since Crusader's ship manages to shift to defense mode before they strike. Then some noise starts to come from outside the hull--it seems three of the soldiers have flown up and landed on his ship and are trying to blast and/or punch their way through and board him!

Fortunately for Kal, Rhea's charge toward him with that deadly blade gets interrupted by both Laurel and Crusder practically at once! The blast from his ship hits her right as Laurel gets in her face, knocking them both to the ground. A crater is formed, and Rhea stares up at Laurel, stunned. "You...look so familiar. Why..."r
Meanwhile, Kal will spot Del trying to stop Hal and Billy from getting to Kara. He doesn't seem to realize the Kryptonian is onto him yet. Speaking of trying to free Kara, that bladed key flies across the battlefield, knocking down several guards and finally hitting the prison. Just in the right place too--it cracks down the middle. Supergirl is now freed from confinement...although likely weakened from being exposed to Kryptonite for so long.

Crusader has posed:
Crusader vibrates in his seat as he is called. by Kaelyn no less. He quickly relays "Green lantern and Captain Marvel has Supergirl well in hand" and than his ship is rocked back and forth as it is attacked by missiles and than Damamites "But if you can do something about the Kryponite that would be helpful. They are on the north beach"
The hull of his ship seems to try to repair itself as it is attacked. by agaist three powered Damamites? That was asking a bit too much and they managed to break in. The ship was slowly decending and Crusader quickly stands.
He cracks his knuckles, the sound of steel snapping ringing out "Big Mistake" is all he says before he melts into the ground of his ship...leaving it evidently empty...time for his own little surprise for these intruders.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae is still working away at her spell, the woman making a rather large number of mythical sigils in the air, as Poe offers suggestions on how to better form them. While Kae tries to maintain concentration. Rapidly, she's gotten her spell formed but not quite set. Her eyes, now glowing a bit, open and she glances around, noticing the position of the kryptonians, which is made better by Crusader's call, << Thanks>> She responds.

She notes her 'targets' as they are in her head, getting their location, and quickly says the last couple lines of her incantation, tossing power into the spell's matrix. As soon as she does, the sigiles around her glow brightly, flash and appear to dissapear, as the wards try to snap into existance around the kryptonians, the wards glowing briefly around them before becoming invisible. << There that should help...>>

Andromeda has posed:
"Whatever Krypton did to you was decades ago. You don't need to do this," Laurel is saying as she finds herself sprawled over Rhea in a crater. Neither is fighting with the other now, both braced for a wrestling match that hasn't started.

"You look familiar --- too....?" Laurel is staring right back, green eyes wide while she studies Rhea's face. "...You're Lar's mother? Queen Rhea?" She pauses for a moment. "I- I'm your grand daughter. About fifty times removed, but..."

It's clear that the fighting has left Laurel's mind entirely.

Shazam has posed:
Once the dust settles from the shockwave, Captain Marvel picks himself back up. "Holy Moley, that was harder than I thought." It was then he saw the prison Kara was once in shattered. He takes off as fast as he can fly to pick her up and away from the kryptonite, not seeing anyone who may be trying to interfere with his ingress.

Superman has posed:
Superman is watching Del. He sees Supergirl get free and the fight going on. That's all it takes for him to lose focus. "Kara!" he calls it out to her, just as one of those green bolts hits him smack dab in the chest.

Superman should be dropping, but instead a bit of light seems to close about him where he was shot, and he looks to Kae, before looking back down at his chest. And Superman, still young, can't help but let out an honestly spoken, "Nifty..." before three more shots hit him and he decides maybe he shouldn't test the power of the wards. On the flip side...the power of the wards compel him...to leave Laurel and Rhea alone. Since he's not in the shower and she doesn't seem to be on the other side of the curtain, maybe she won't stab him again yet.

He instead comes down next to Hal and Billy, looking to add some protection for them, and maybe a distraction for Billy's approach. "How much longer do you think this can go on?"

Supergirl has posed:
As the box opens, Kara literally falls out onto the ground. She looks like she's been sick for weeks, eyes sucken, her coloration more gray than her usual skin tone. She's been in that cage long enough for the Kryptonite to have effected her deeply. Yet, she tries to crawl away from the box, determined to put some distance. Not that it will help much. After that much exposure, it'll take quite a few minutes before she can purge the Krytponite that has poisoned her system. As the wards go up between her and the death trap, she can feel the drain on her powers disappear. Yet, she isn't out of the woods yet. For now, she's still out of the fight.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
After the cage opens, Hal lands and nods to Superman as he lands nearby, and Captain Marvel. "She's pretty ill..." Hal uses his willpower to ensure that she is protected from the Kryptonite with the green energy of his ring. "I'll watch over her, while you all make sure they pay for this." Hal says, with a determined glance at everyone. "Don't worry Kal...I'll watch over her with my last breath. Take care of business."

Mon-El has posed:
The Daxamite soldiers manage to punch a hole through Crusader's ship, only to find him...merging with it? Confused, they just start attacking the ship then, both from within and without. It seems to have the most firepower, so a good portion of them start to focus their fire on it. They're not sure what he has planned, but one could bet it's going to be a heavy-hitter, so they start to try to destroy it before he can pull off whatever it is he's planning...

As the shock of getting a double whammy fades, Rhea's face hardens, a frown setting in. "No, you don't understand! We -can't- go back home now, because Krypton refused to take the action necessary to avert its -own- destruction! So yes, we -do- have to do this. If you truly are my granddaughter, then you will see that -justice- ought to be done!" And the wrestling match -does- finally start, with Rhea first attempting to throw Laurel off of her.

Billy and Hal manage to get to Kara, what with Laurel and Crusader drawing most of the royal guard and family's attention onto themselves. That is, those who are still strong enough to keep fighting by now. With Kaelyn's wards and Hal's willpower, Supergirl is finally safe from Kryptonite poisoning. No doubt, it will take her some time and lots of yellow sunlight to recover from it--but she will be all right. Still, there remains the question of what Kara was here to do in the first place--something she will no doubt voice her concerns about as soon as she gets the strength to...

    Where is Lar?

Crusader has posed:
Crusader now fully merged with his ship, is grinning inside. His ship...and himself are made essentially the same substance - which is what allowed such an easy merger. And when crusader gains Mass - he gains a pretty significant boost in strength...which is important...

Because suddenly - Tentacles!

Tendrills appear all over the ship and began grabbing and thrashing the kryptonians who had decided to step into his domain. Any tendrill ripped off would only seep back into the ground to reappear again in a never ending forest of the stuff.
Whenever one Kryptnoian is sufficently thrashed...Crusader would uncereomonously (and quite litterly) spit them back out towards the ground. But none the less the attacks were still doing a number on the ship (as the ship shapeshifting capaiblities are not as good as his own). And more damage would surely rend his ship inoperable.
And with that, he shoots him and the remianing Kryptnian out and towards the ground head first "Night Night Daxamite" is his only words for his captive as they plummut.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae takes a deep breath, then glances around curiously, trying to figure out what all is going on. Finally she sighs, staring "Really? Yer taking out on these Kryptonians what others failed to account for as it messed up your planet? If I remember, the Kryptonians lost their home..." She says, now using magic to project her voice. "Yah yer angry, but yer seeking vengeance on a people who are all but extinct! WOuldn't you be better off trying to find a new home and establish that as a new colony and rebuilding?" Kae says, logic might not work too well, but she does try it!

Kae notices the daxamites shooting at Crusader, and sighs, she steps through another gate and appears on the ship now with the pissed off Daxamites firing energy weapons. She then raises a hand and was about to sling things but well standing just above tentacly maddness she blinks and stares... "Ummmmm... Ooookaaaay..... Nevermind..."

Superman has posed:
As the fighting continues, and Kara is freed, Kal-El with his new found protection from the most dangerous of the weapons floats upwards. His cape fluttering, whipping in the wind, a sound that somehow carries over the combat and conversation, the wards continuing to give him an almost nimbus-like glow as the kryptonite weapons for once in his life do manage to fly off him ineffectually. Sadly, it's not something he can get used to unless he learns how to make a pocket-Kae. Then we're talking.

But as the soldiers make their way to Crusader's ship, as other fighting continues, a beam of red energy comes from Kal-El and down into the sand. Burning it like black glass, cutting a shape that only from above can people see is that of the House of El. And it's only after he's done that one can look and see the pin point precision with which Kal's gaze moves through the combatants. A piece of a weapon here, a bit of tree limb there, landing next to and just missing a Daxamite soldier. Some of them, it's so close that their environmental suits, while intact, are smoking some from the heat.

"LOOK THERE!" His voice booms, strong, as he looks to Rhea and Laurel and then points to what's left of her people. "It this how you want to be remembered? As the woman who led the last of her people to their death? For vengeance over something that happened before I could even say my own name?" His eyes are narrowed, "Go home. Abandon this foolishness. You've lost...but a battle is no thing to be ashamed at losing. Are they so easily lost to you as well today?" His hand sweeps gesturing towards the island and its occupants.

The bottom part of the 'S' burns brightest, the part surrounding Green Lantern, Captain Marvel and Supergirl, Del standing only a foot or two away. Superman may not have a temper, but there's only so long he will stand for his friend and family being threatened like this. It is their move. Only now is it apparent though that Superman could have ended the Daxamites in but a moment were he so malicious.

Supergirl has posed:
"Not until..." Kara's voice is weak, barely able to be heard. She clears her throat and tries again, lifting her head to focus on Rhea. "Not until they give Lar back. They took him. By force." Her voice shifts to a bit of a snarl as she narrows her eyes. They begin to glow red but she doesn't have the strength to use the heat vision like her cousin did. Just not enough yellow sunlight yet to counter the full poisoning. It's more a wish on her part that she could, posturing even as she tries to regain her feet. "Give him back now or I will tear every one of you apart until he is safe." Unlike Kal, little Kara has a serious temper. Being almost killed, used as bait to try to kill her family, and taking her friend has triggered it.

Shazam has posed:
Captain Marvel stands steadfast, against the backdrop of the house sigil. He claps his fist in his hand, clearly still ready, willing, and prepared to fight if need be. He looks to Supergirl and offers a hand to lean on for support. Kara's words only steel his resolve against the Daxamites, but he's not making any moves against them yet. He looks towards the Kryptonian and whispers. "Remind me not to cheese you off, ever."

Andromeda has posed:
"You think killing Kal will help them? He isn't Krypton, grandmother. You can't-" Then Laurel is thrown off of rhea, caught by surprise when the hostilities begin all at once. She flies toward a wall but catche herself easily in midair. She seems reluctant to bring her strength to bear against the Daxamite Queen, staring at the woman as she maneuvers.

TThen Superman begins to speak. Laurel stares openly, floating where she is while listenng to everything that Kal has to say. She nods silently, closing her eyes for a second while the words go back and forth. Laurel is almost passive, chin dropping toward her chest. Then Kara speaks.

"...They took Lar?" Laurel tenses slightly then looks over toward Kara. Laurel's eyes begin to glow in a telltale way, threatening to explode with violence in a manner similar to Superman's. She restrains herself visibly, mleft hand slowly clenching into a fist. "Where is he? I'm bringing him home. *Our*. Home."

Mon-El has posed:
Many of the guards cry out in shock when the ship suddenly sprouts tentacles. They weren't sure what to expect, but that wasn't one of them. Sure, the Daxamites are strong enough to rip them off, but they just keep respawning despite the damage to the ship. Finally, with only one man left, he tries to fly away but gets grabbed by Crusader and smashed into the ground at terminal velocity. It doesn't kill him, but he probably won't be getting back up any time soon.

Rhea throws Laurel off of herself, was about to charge again when Kal's booming voice suddenly draws her attention away. Her eyes widen...how was he not dead yet, with all of the elite guard having been armed with kryptonite weapons? Then she realizes he must have had some kind of protection, as a stray blast again hits him and seems to have no effect at all. So it seems he's right...she has lost, and the close call with the thermal vision definitely cements in the fact that he could destroy them all now if he wanted to, but strongly desires to let as many live as possible. It's...definitely not what she expected, from a Kryptonian. And looking around at the others, they all seem to be thinking the same.

    Maybe...Lar was right.

Her face falls for a moment, but then her pride wells up again--refusing to be wrong. "You destroy our home, and now you threaten to kill us if we do not turn our own son over to you! You are every bit as cruel as your predecessors!" She points at Kara, following that angry tirade. "Just listen to yourselves! Fine, have it your way--since it seems you are willing to murder us all in name of the House of El." She speaks into a comm, ordering her remaining people to bring Lar out and release him.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae blinks and stares... "Oookay.." She says, now projecting her voice magically "Lets put it this way, you kidnap Supergirl, Kidnap Lar evidently too. You imprison Supergirl in Kryptonite which is slowly poisoning and killing her, then play the victim when she tosses a threat at you after you nearly kill her and kidnap her friend too? Really, you guys gotta get your head straight... The Kryptonians here really had nothing to do with their own planet exploding I imagine, and had nothing to do with that planet damaging yours..." She says and sighs. "Really, they're showing a ton of restraing considering..."

Crusader has posed:
having finally left his ship and landed with the other, says bluntly "There not cruel. You are just being an idiot" he says bluntly. "No one is asking you to turn over your son, there telling you to let him go - as by Kara words" he landed in time to hear that "You took him by force, and than try and use family to course superman into your demands. Sounds like your as cruel as your trying to make Superman out to be - perhaps even planet killers yourself" he shrugs "....or even as bad as Res who, if memory serves, attack your son quite recently" he watches the Queen with a stoic expression - being blunt on the point of rudness.

Andromeda has posed:
Laurel closes her eyes again when Rhea agrees to release Lar. She slowly floats down to the ground, her feet barely alighting upon the deck. Shholds her arms at her sides for now, her body nearly going limp. Then she opens her eyes and walks toward Rhea slowly.

"You can't leave with Lar. You took him against his will and I... I can't abide that." The woman pauses on that point, briefly worrying her bottom lip with her teeth. "But I'll go with you willingly. I want to learn more. About what is happening... And why you're here. I'm not Lar, grandmother, but... We're family. Let me come with you for awhile."

Supergirl has posed:
Kara takes the offered support from Captain Marvel, leaning against him a bit so she can remain upright. The glow has faded from her eyes. Not because she's calm. It's just all she had the ability to do for the time being. WHen Rhea agrees to release Lar, she manages to actually keep her mouth shut. Until she hears Laurel's offer. "No! What if they try to lock you away too?" Her blue eyes are filled with concern for the Daxamite woman. Even if she understands on some level, she doesn't have to like it.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar is finally brought out and released, the guards sort of pushing him begrudgingly away from themselves and toward his friends. He immediately goes to Kara's side, seeing how unhealthy she looks. "K-kara...I'm sorry..." he stammers, mostly at a loss for words as he hugs her tight.

Rhea motions for the rest of her people to return to the ship as she glares at the accusations being flung her way. "Hmph, you Terrans will never understand--but I have better things to do than try to explain intergalactic relations to a race so primitive it has not even colonized any of the the planets or moons in its -own- system yet. But no matter, you have what you want now. What use is it arguing with me?" She turns to leave, but then Laurel makes her wishes known. Rhea peers curiously at the other Daxamite woman. She hesitates, unsure of whether to trust Laurel or not, but slowly she nods. She can respect the girl's desire to learn... "Very well then. But hurry, we will not be staying here long." Once Andromeda has boarded the ship, the hangar doors close and its engines fire up before shooting off out of the atmosphere to return to the stars.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae taps her jaw briefly, blinking "Wooow... Well, no use tossing lotsa logic at the ultimately bereaved..." She mutters and shrugs slowly, before glancing around "Soo we done here?" She asks and then umms "If anyone needs a ride back to the city, I can gate us there if you guys like, just name the city."

Andromeda has posed:
As the ship begins its long voyage away from the vicinity of Earth Laurel activates her Legion communicator. "Lar, when you hear this... I love you, Uncle. I just wanted to see this for myself. I... I have to know. Don't worry, I'll be home soon."

Shazam has posed:
Billy shrugs a bit. "Umm, I'll take you up on that one way ticket to Metropolis." He says, giving a kind smile to Kaelyn.

Captain Marvel makes sure Supergirl can stand, or is at least supported by another before leaving. He's nice like that. The Big Red guy steps towards the mystic one. Of course he has to find a place to change back to his real form, and head back to the place he called home, to the comfy truck seat.

Crusader has posed:
Crusader glances to Kaelyne "One is fine" he looks to the leaving ship "...and ends with insults. A truely advanced race" he shakes his head and looks to kara, he has...zero idea on how to treat a Kryptonian. He leaves this up to the others. Though glancing back as his ship he highly contemplates going up there and ramming them. "For now, we need to get SuperGirl to recovery."
