Synopsis: A little Clark & Lois date time
Cast of Characters: Superman, Lois Lane

Superman has posed:
It's a gorgeous May day. One of the cool things about dating a man who can fly around the world? He can go anywhere for anything. And such, as you meet Clark in the park at the spot he told you, there's a blanket set out. A little bit of wine, a bit of prosciutto and some cheese, and a bit of gelato made fresh about half an hour ago. He's wearing a pair of jeans, a blue t-shirt, and is sitting, smiling, watching folks walk about, kids at play, and enjoying the casual nature of a day out in the sun without any stories to cover and anyone to fight, at least not right now.

Lois Lane has posed:
It was an almost thing. There was a story breaking over on the East Side and Lois' instincts were telling her to go. Yet, in the grand scheme, she weighed things and realized that while it was a story, it wasn't something huge. Let one of the others cover it. It was a rare thing for her to get time with Clark. Between stories and his extracurricular activities, so to speak, it was a real gift when they got to spend any private time.

She approached, walking across the green fields. There were people about, of course. No way the park would be empty on a day like this. But he had managed to find a spot away from most of them. She couldn't help smiling when she spotted him, her steps increasing in speed as she hurried to the picnic site. She's also dressed down, in jeans and a light purple v-neck t-shirt. Sneakers cover her feet. "Hey, Smallville," she says with a lot of affection in her tone. "This looks wonderful." She isn't even looking at the spread although she did steal a peek on the way over.

Superman has posed:
"Hey," he says with a smile, holding a hand up to help you sit, though it's sort of a double-edged thing as he also uses it to manipulate how you sit...all close and hip to hip like as he smiles. He seems relaxed, at ease. It's a nice day, a rare day, when there's not something out there that can cause Clark to fret or wrinkle his brow but on occasion they happen and they are amazing. So, he settles you down and looks out towards the park again, and he points towards the guy juggling as he walks past. "I know it's not exactly a churro, but I thought you wouldn't mind the gelato. I got java chocolate chunk and straciatella," he offers. Grinning though he leans over and places a kiss to your shoulder, before looking over and then he picks up the knife and starts to slice some of the melon that he brought to wrap in the prosciutto. "Mom says she misses you by the way."

Lois Lane has posed:
"I need to get out there more," Lois replies. It's a pretty standard answer. She never seems to have enough time to visit his parents as much as she would like. Even with her super speedy way to get out to Kansas. It all depended on if he was off saving the world. Or a kitten in a tree. He tended to do corny stuff like that too. She settled in with him and immediately reached for the gelato. No judging! She's an adult. She can eat dessert first. "Wouldn't want it to go melting," she says by way of her own defense as she picks up the java chocolate chunk. It's more the java that draw her in. The chocolate was just a bonus. She takes a quick bite, eyes rolling up as she lets out a happy sound. After she swallows, she finds herself watching the juggler a bit. "How is she doing?" she asks, glancing to the side at Clark.

Superman has posed:
He laughs a little, as you go for the dessert first and putting down the actual meal, he grins a bit, "I'm not sure why I bother," he teases, setting that down and picking up the other. Both have chocolate chunks, just his is more vanilla based with chocolate where as yours has the java. Well....mostly java. he does move his spoon over towards yours to steal a taste. Cause...yum. "She's fine. The farm's still a bit much to manage but it doesn't take me too long to get it all sorted out when I have to," he says with a little bit of a knowing grin. He's able to go when it's dark and such and take care of thingsin what we'll call an...expedited fashion....though there are the days he goes to think that he is out there and he does it the right way too, spending all day working out there and having his chance to reflect and work on what matters. "She did say to tell you that you are working too hard," he says with a chuckle, knowing full well -that- will fall upon deaf ears.

Lois Lane has posed:
"Yeah, that's like the pot calling the kettle black," Lois says with a roll of her eyes but her smile shows clearly how much she loves Martha. "When she actually settles down or lets us get her some help out there, other than you, then she can tell me about it all the time. I'll even be gracious and tell her she's right. Maybe," she adds with a chuckle. They both know how unlikely that is.

As he brings his spoon over to steal some of her gelato, there is clang of metal on metal as she blocks the attempt with her own spoon. "Don't make me hurt you, Smallville. You know I will over coffee. Even in gelato form."

Superman has posed:
He grins a little bit as you talk about his mom and there's a moment where he realizes how, personality wise, the two of you are quite similar. He just smiles and enjoys that a moment, and as you block his spoon he nods. "Alright," he says, though he puts his gelato down a moment and turns, cupping your cheek, and pulling you in he applies quite the kiss. It's one of those slow, long, drawn out types. Which is probably why it's unlikely you noticed he totally cheated and switched gelato on you mid kiss. Not that he takes any of it since the switch. It's more fun to make you wait and realize for yourself what he did. But he does pull back from the kiss with a smile and looks back out over the park.

Lois Lane has posed:
It's such a cliche. Yet, it happens every time. It's like the world just goes away when he kisses her. Particularly like that. Everything fades and she has this feeling that her toes are curling up inside her sneakers. The kiss is returned equally, the moment going on forever and yet never long enough at the same time. When he pulled back, she was a little breathless as she reached down to pick up her gelato again. She at least remembered there was gelato. She scoops up a spoonful and gives him a smile, holding it up and offering the bite to him. "For that, you earned it."

Until she spots the color on the spoon. That is not her gelato. Her violet gaze flicks to her dish then to the one in his hand which is much darker in color. "You cheater!" She makes a grab for the java.

Superman has posed:
He seems to be a little bit amused. Not just from the kiss of course, which he enjoyed significantly, but now at your reaction as he holds the gelato out behind him, a bit out of reach, as he looks otwards you. A large smile comes to his face as he looks to you. You can see that bright gaze, that clear bit of impishness. There is no way to easily get to the gelato but there is always the bit of ability to climb past him, or to climb Mt. Superman and conquer your gelato that way. But he doesn't hold out long. He rarely does with you.

The gelato is brought back as he hands it to you. "Here you go," he teases, his eyes on you. "Truce?"

Lois Lane has posed:
"It is not fair using that freakish reach of yours to your advantage that way," Lois protests as he relents. She takes back the gelato then sets down his. She scoops up some of the java goodness and offers it to him. "We'll share. You should've just gotten two of them. If we keep this up, I'll send you to get one more." Which she would actually do, even if it meant he had to take a flight to Italy. He'd be back quickly, depending on the line at the gelato vendor. The man had the best gelato in Rome which is why he was their go to for the frozen treat. If she didn't have Clark, she'd have to take a lot of trips to Rome. Or move. It was that good.

"Thank you for this, Clark," she said in a more serious tone, looking out at the park as she takes a bite. "We don't get to relax like this nearly as often as we should. I wouldn't want it all the time. I'd go crazy not having my work." He knows that better than anyone. "But I do have to say I'm a little jealous of those regularly. Sometimes."

Superman has posed:
"You're welcome," he says with that playful smile as he looks out. "It's fun. We don't get to do enough of this...and that other guy I know I don't think he's actually allowed to have a girlfriend." Clark grins at that, letting out a deeper breath as e stretches, now, taking the offered java but not asking for any more. He knew which one you were going to like. Still though, "You know...that does bring up the idea that while he's not nearly as cute or as charming as I am, that other guy could get us to Italy fairly quickly if you wanted to go for a little trip."

He grins at that idea, letting it sink in. They haven't really taken advantage of that littel bit yet...that whole 'anywhere in the world you want to go' thing. "I hear New Zealand is nice...good beaches and the like?"

Lois Lane has posed:
"Don't tempt me, Smallville," Lois says as she takes another scoop of gelato for herself while settling in tailor style. "While a vacation would be fun, I can't really go right now. In the middle of a story." Ever the tale with her. She's rarely not in the middle of something. "I know there is more to the Gambini case than meets the eye. I just know." Her hunches have been right more often than they are not. She smiles a bit and shrugs. "No work talk on picnics. I think that should be a new rule. Otherwise, you know how I get."

Superman has posed:
"I like seeing your mind work so I don't really object," he says. "Though yeah, if you want to make that a rule it's fine. I'm just saying if you have time for a picnic...you have time for dinner by the Eiffel Tower or a day at the beach...whichever beach you pick," he teases. "I could always talk to Wonder Woman. Maybe she'll let you visit there some day...far better chance of you getting there than me," he teases. "Though I do hear they have a pretty decent beach or two also. Not sure you'll like meal time though. If you won't fight me for gelato I'm not sure you'll enjoy some of their fighting games," he teases, both you and Diana with that one. "Still...I think it's something we should consider. Little quick getaways when we can...just because we can. Clark Airlines," he teases, taking another bite of his gelato as a ball rolls up and he gently kicks it back to the kids who were playing with it.

Lois Lane has posed:
With his abilities, it's true. The could get to the Eiffel Tower pretty quickly. He'd have to fly a bit slower with her in tow. The temptation was growing but Lois managed to tamp it back down. Maybe another time. This story had her caught up, trying to find what she was missing. She didn't want to give up a lead by running off for an entire day. Because if she made it to one of those spots, she'd be taking extra time to enjoy and explore. "Soon. I would really enjoy a vacation with you, even if it's a day trip."

As he kicks the ball back to the kids, she turns her attention over to them and watches as they play a weird mix of catch and tag at the same time. She finally does set down her gelato though and reaches for a bit of melon. "Me on Themyscira? I'd be busy trying to get an interview with Hippolyta. Which would probably require some sort of duel to even get and I'd fail on an epic scale. Somehow I don't think my training would be more than something they'd laugh at."

Superman has posed:
"I could show you a few tricks," he says with a grin though even as he says it he's chuckling. Yes, yu're a feisty woman but the Queen of the Amazons you are not. Queen of the reporter pool however...see if Hippolyta can beat you in 1000 words on any topic. We all have to have our skills, right? He grins though as he looks out to them, the kids, the juggler, a small band of people walking through the park...all of it. There is so much being done, so much going on to enjoy out here, even if you decided to start with the gelato. He grins at another guy off to the side that is making balloon animals. That seems to bring a chuckle to him, to his features. "i like playing here," he says with a smile. "Sitting here, relaxing. This makes me happy. You also...don't get me wrong. I mean balloon people are cute but you're more fun."

Lois Lane has posed:
"You did not just say those words outloud," Lois says with a laugh as she looks over quickly. "Smallville, I swear if you get any more small town, I'll be shocked. I didn't know it was even possible. Balloon animals? Really?" It never ceases to amaze her. Here is this man, from another planet, who is so American apple pie that it makes her teeth hurt it's so sweet. He was this super being yet he would always just be Clark. She wouldn't have it any other way. It was Clark she'd fallen for, not Superman, no matter which face he'd been wearing at the time. Glasses or no glasses. His essence was always the same. "Do you want me to go buy you a balloon poodle?"

Superman has posed:
"I like the balloon bouquets myself...but be nice or else I'll give you a long lecture on the merits of face painting," he says with a grin as he leans down and he puts his gelato aside. And then he turns to face you, and as you're propped up he takes that hand pushing you up away from behind you. Scooting it to the side, he turns it and moves it so tha tyou have to lay on your back. And then, speaking of Smallville, Clark begins a time honored tradition of young couples in Central Park that have likely been going on for decades now. He lays you back, and leaning over you, Clark begins the act of 'making out' and since he is Clark, it will be most modest and presentable for the public, but it is definitely making with the smoochity smoochity.
