Murder Circles - Situation Update
Date of Scene: 05 August 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Batman, Witchblade, Molly Carpenter, Harry Dresden

Batman has posed:
Batman has set a meeting with Sara to go over the details of the investigation so far. His time had been so distracted with Asgardians and Magic Mushrooms that anyone else might have forgotten entirely about the threat to his city. Batman, however, is not someone else and as soon as he got a free moment arranged a meeting with the detective so they could compare notes. This was a threat, and he was not liking what he had learned so far.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara had been doing her own investigating in Gotham. Letting the bigger heroes handle the bigger threats was going to give Sara a bit more info on what the hell they faced in the church. Sara, however, did find a little something while Batman was out. As she approached the meeting place, which was on a rooftop, ironically, Sara sighed as she looked about. "You better show up, Bats...."

Batman has posed:
Batman has a minor neurological addiction to sneaking up on people, even those with preternatural senses, simply because he can, and after carefully moving through the shadows on the back of the building, rather than swing through the rafters or run along the rooftops like most of his Protiges, he moves out of the shadows like liquid night. "Hello Detective."

Witchblade has posed:
After what happened in the church, it was a idea to sneak up on Pezzini. As soon as he spoke, he had a very very sharp blade in his face. "Dammit, Batman." She says as the blade retracts.....into the forearm gauntlet. "I've seen enough scary stuff to make people commit themselves to a mental ward....and you decide to sneak up on me?" And the forearm gauntlet becomes a bracelet.....

Batman has posed:
Batman smiles grimly at that but doesn't say anything more. Unconcious relation to the Burger King aside, he starts into business, "The book is very very bad. I am still investigating and have traced it thoroughly but it leads to an entire line of investigations I don't want to be true. There are passages hand copied from other books; some of which are found in the cities archives."

Witchblade has posed:
"Isn't that the life of a detective? Finding stuff you don't want to be true?" Sara says with a sigh. "I found a couple of things myself. I saw what you were doing with the mushrooms and.....figured it'd be bad for an artifact that could burn the world be allowed to get close to those things and.......only make them bigger." She says before she holds out a book. "Wouldn't believe where I found that."

Batman has posed:
Batman nods, "You thought wisely. Good work detective. The telepathic nature of these things at one point impacted the Astral plane per the report the league got from Martian Manhunter. The Carcosan things in the church were telepathic." He looked at the book and began to examine it. As he does, there is a faint glow to the writing, not due to magic in his blood but because his family is tied at the root to Gotham. "It bears striking similarity to the other one. Where did you find this?

Witchblade has posed:
"Yeah. So you know....and I'm sure you're going to investigate yourself...it's called the Witchblade." Sara then looks to the book. "There was an old bookstore called Merv's a few blocks from here. Packed to the ceiling with books, and this was on the bottom shelf in the back. It was dusty back there....."

Batman has posed:
Batman says, "I will check it out. The book we found at the church talks about Ambrose Bierce, writer of the King in Yellow; and many other works of fiction. The man disappeared under mysterious circumstances. What concerns me is that in the archives I've been finding circles like this in the architecture all over Gotham. This isn't something recent. Whatever it is, its been here a very long time."

Witchblade has posed:
"So we may need to find the sites that could possibly be used, and....cleanse them....I think the phrase is." Sara says with a worrying look. "How good is your friend....Zatanna...I think her name is. The....Stage magician?"

Batman has posed:
Batman says, "Zatanna implied that these guys were disrupting wards. The wards are the things that are aleady there. If 'cleansing' can fix that, I'm all on board. And she is well." He grinned, "I think we both know she is a bit more than that given the magic she was slinging around last time but her secrets are not mine to tell. She knows her stuff though."

Witchblade has posed:
"We may need to get as many magic users as possible here, Batman. I'm not a good enough magic user, per se." Sara then lifts her right arm and points to the bracelet. "everything I have, minus the gun, is him."

Batman has posed:
Batman says, "More than I have. I am not a fan of magic. I know sometimes people need it; and I consult them when I need. Zatanna is solid, she is skilled and sane. Moreoever, she is not sloppy. In Gotham I don't like expanding to others who are not...as solid." He frowns, "It sounds like you have someone specific in mind.""

Witchblade has posed:
"Not really. Got a phone number for someone named....Dresden. Don't know how solid he is, but then, I'm carrying ragnarok in a triad of jewels. So.....sometimes reckless is good....as long as recklessness doesn't create a crater." She then tilts her head. "Dull roar?"

Batman has posed:
Batman says, "Harry Copperfield Dresden. The only publicly listed wizard in the tri state area, appeared on a defrauded psychic show, Fantastic at finding objects, consultant for special investigations and known to be around fires. Lots of fires." He pauses a moment, "Lots and lots of fires."

Witchblade has posed:
"Hmm....." Sara says softly as she listens to this. "So....he'd be a good one to call in...as long as we don't let him near any matchbooks." She says jokingly...then realizes that batman doesn't laugh. "never mind. So, maybe we can get Zatanna and this Dresden guy to work together, perhaps a third and we can find all of the places where the circles are. Perhaps even stop some summonings while they're going on."

Batman has posed:
Batman says, "I would say categorically no except for the fact that Detective Karrin Murphy carries as solid a reputation," actually more solid a reputation, "than your own. We do need help and he isnt Constantine. And I would like someone to vouch for him if we share too much but if he can recognize these wards, helping us locate potential sites they might disrupt could be helpful. A third..." he rubs his chin, "We could ask Constantine." He sighs, "I dont trust HIM either but that is because I am just waiting for him to try and sell me my own batmobile."

Witchblade has posed:
"figures, huh?" Sara says quietly. "Where are all of these sites anyways? they've gotta be in key locations all over the city, right?" She then rubs her chin. 'and Murphy's the one who gave me the number."

Batman has posed:
Batman says, "So far, the older the building, the more likely it is to have the wards. If that is enough details, we can call them. Typically speaking, I make house calls, not phone calls but when it comes to spell casters I avoid unexpected entrances."

Witchblade has posed:
"because you prefer to be the one doin the sneaking, I imagine." Sara says as she turns on her phone and dials the number on the paper. "Well...Dresden's a good start, I think. Let's see how he reacts to this." She says as the phone begins to ring...

Molly Carpenter has posed:
"Office of the Harry Dresden, Wizard and Private Investigator," comes a feminine voice over the phone which Sara calls. "He's currently indisposed but I'll be happy to take a message." There's a pause and she remarks a bit muffled, "Use a napkin Harry! I told you that you shouldn't try to fit an entire Whopper in your mouth!"

Witchblade has posed:
Sara snickers into the phone. "That's.....something different to listen to over the phone. I'm.....Detective Sara Pezzini and I'd like to talk to Mister Dresden as soon as possible. Mostly for his investigations into the occult."

Harry Dresden has posed:
It's a whopper junior, and I wasn't trying to fit the whole thing.. just half." comes the juvinile retort "Who is it? Karrin needing us for some consult work?" he asks his voice almost oozing with 'rent's got to get paid' enthusiasim.. as there's the sound of things being moved around in the background of the phonecall..

Molly Carpenter has posed:
"We'd be happy to help, Detective." We? Whoever was on the phone manages, somehow, to give the impression of rolling their eyes with a little sigh. "It's not Karrin, Harry. Down boy. Ahem. Sorry, Detective Pezzini. Can I inquire as to the matter or would it be better to meet in person to discuss? I'll make sure he's in a professional state at that point."

Witchblade has posed:
"I'd rather speak of it in person, Ma'am. It's rather delicate and I have someone super paranoid about people listening to phone calls in Gotham City." Sara's rather blunt.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden mutters a keen ear might be able to hear "Always professional.. look in the dictionary beside 'professional wizard' and /my/ picture is there.." he grumbles "Get their address Molls and ask em how urgent it is.. If it's super important, they can get a couple of speeding tickets waived if they're gotten." he pops off "Mouse, looks like we're going for walkies.. If you're a good boy, you might get the passengers seat." he says dripping sarcasm..

Molly Carpenter has posed:
"If you can provide a location we can be there shortly." There's a pause and she adds, "We could just use the Ways, Harry. Depending how important."

Witchblade has posed:
"If you want the current location, we're on top of the Gotham City Stock Exchange." 'We'? "And considering what's happened....come armed. We are.....and one of us has an....unconventional weapon."

Batman has posed:
Batman shakes his head at the entire exchange, wondering about the wisdom of this already, but has already blurred into the shadows. Then, deciding this is dumb, steps out of the shadows in the entire duration of the conversation. "That was....ridiculous." He is smiling slightly but shakes his head, "I'm not sure this is something a rookie should be involved with."

Molly Carpenter has posed:
"We've no shortage of weapons, as well as other means. We'll be there shortly," Molly offers over the phone before hanging up. Time to get on the road! One way or another.

Harry Dresden has posed:
With the conversation done, and the distance needing to be traveled not even interstate it doesn't take the pair of wizards nor the large Foo dog long to get from the office in Bludhaven to Gotham, the faint sounds of something inhuman but definately canine baying in the distance.. First it's the 5'11" tall bubblegum haired Molly dashing out of the rift in the air, followed by Mr. 6'9" himself the sound of the baying hounds louder and echoing off something as he lets out a cry of "Dispertus!" the man says with a wave of the oak staff in his hand the crackling rift vanishing with a slight popping noise..

"And /That/ is why I was leery of using the ways.. we'll have to bus back." he says panting and catching his breath the back of his dark leather duster covered in some clear slime that quickly starts to evaporate not even leaving a residue...

Witchblade has posed:
Sara looks over at the rift closing and rubs her forehead in disbelief. "Oookay. We have the Undertaker and some sort of bubblegum haired girl coming out of a portal." She then looks to Batman. "I have a serious feeling of dread here."

Molly Carpenter has posed:
Molly Carpenter was a bit breathless herself as she comes to a quick halt on the rooftop to tug her leather jacket around herself. "If you'd just let me viel us before we went I'm sure we could have avoided that. You really have to find a way to get your Godmother to stop hounding you, Harry." Ha. Ha. Ha. Straightening up she turns her attention toward Sara and Batman. "I'm Molly Carpenter, wizard and partner to Mr. Dresden," she introduces only to pause. As her gaze moves from Sara to Batman. Reaching out she hits Harry's arm. Bap. Bap bap. The message is there however silent: Harry PAY ATTENTION.

Batman has posed:
Batman manages to move off to the side, so that while Sara might actually see him move if she is looking right at him, he will be out of the perphial vision of the two as they initially appear. He is a bit non plussed by their attention and then says, "I'm Batman." He looks them over and says, "Harry Dresden." He looks at Molly. He doesnt know her and doesnt like that he doesnt know her. One degree of vouched from Karrin Murphy he is OK with. Two degrees is dubious. He does not hear the words Apprentice, so he relaxes only a fraction. "Thank you for coming.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden glances around the top of the building staff in hand his breath quickly caught as he looks around. "Hells Bells, he's real?!" he says straightening a little more. "Mister Batman, Detective.." he says nodding to the two as he puts on an air of respectiblity. "What're you needing that you think is bumping in the night?" he asks curiously glancing around..

Witchblade has posed:
"it's more....exploding in the night." Sara says quietly. "Batman has more information currently, but this really started with an investigation where I was called into the GCPD. Batman, myself and a couple of others investigated a church in lower end Gotham. What we found was a seance, and a portal suddenly opening. All of us had to defend ourselves against the thing that was coming out, and....well....there's where you come in, Mister Dresden. We'd like your help in finding out where more of these circles are, so we can clease them, I think...and mainly stop these people from doing this again...."

Molly Carpenter has posed:
Molly Carpenter frowns in thought as she listens to the issue at hand considering. Tipping her head toward Harry she meets his gaze with a nod, then looks back. "Tracking spell? If they used any of the same materials to make the circles it would lead us to the others. Otherwise we should be able to trace the magical similarities..." It was routine for her to start trying to unravel things but she pauses. "What do you think, boss?"

Batman has posed:
Batman says, "What is your email address?" He doesnt realize this is not a viable option. He points to the book he just received from Sara, "I've scanned the pages. I can send both this book and the assembled hodge podge the first idiot we found at the church was using. Carcosan markings, eldritch and dunwich leanings. And more over, there are indications that there are wards, that's the word Zatanna used, all over the city being disrupted."

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden grimaces.. "Outsiders... " he says as he listens to Batman glancing over at Molly "Sorry, no email. We're Amish." he replies to the offer of the email "I'll need to look over the actual items." he explains. before getting a bit more of a serious look. "Tracking spell /might/ work.. but if there's a lot, and it's making the wards some folks have erected having issues..." he grimaces "Why don't you look over the ritual materials.. See if you can get a reading?" he suggests..

Witchblade has posed:
"that's the only one I've found so far. the next step was calling the 'experts' on this." Sara says gesturing towards Harry and Molly. "Also, you might want to work with Zatanna over this. She knows more about this stuff than I do. I'm not exactly a mage myself."

Batman has posed:
Batman grumbles about luddites but assumes its some kind of wizard thing. "I will have copies made and sent to your office." Copies made somewhere OUT of the batcave of course. The term 'tracking spell' sets his neck hairs on end. "I have some tracing of those with me." Because he's Batman. "She studied a lot but I havent showed her the book yet.

Molly Carpenter has posed:
Molly Carpenter spreads her hands with a helpless shrug. "If you really need I have an email at my dad's contracting company, but it would take time to access it on his computer at home. It will be easier to have copies." A small sort-of apology. "Well. Guess we'll start with the first things. If it's disrupting wards that are already in place in the city though..." She looks over to Harry. "We know a few of those places. Should keep an eye on them. Mac's?"

Witchblade has posed:
"I can't really help. Batman found the wards before I did and most of what detection I have is.....second hand. I'm much better in a fight. As for my detective work, the occult is very very new to me. So I don't know what to look for. And they don't exactly cover this in the academy...."

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden shakes his head "keep copies for yourself, but I'll need the original, copies won't have the metaphysical weight to them that the originals will have." he explains "Mac's might be too far away since this is happening here in Gotham.." he adds glancing around the rooftop. "I've got an idea.. Molly, see what you can read off the materials Batman can provide." he says before looking back up at SAra "I need three large meat lover pizzas, and a paper map of Gotham City." he explains without explaining.

Molly Carpenter has posed:
Molly Carpenter inclines her head at Sara's remark. Shifting to unzip her jacket she reaches inside to withdraw what appears to be some paper pamphlets with such exciting titles as 'Magic: Fact and Fiction' and 'How to Spot Fakes, and Why to Avoid the Real Thing' which she offers out to the detective. "Rather rudimentary stuff in here, but if you're starting at zero this will at least give you an idea of what to look for. Better to be prepared than not." Smiling at her she then looks over to the looming bat. "I guess I get to feel up the 'real stuff' though. I'm better at picking up sensitive items than Harry."

Witchblade has posed:
"As long as you can find it then, Miss Carpenter." Sara says before she looks at Harry. "no. I'm not your gopher nor am I your secretary. You want something to eat, buy it yourself....."

Batman has posed:
Batman opens her tome as the words glow as he holds it. It should not be glowing since Batman is definitely not a spell caster, "If you promise not to burn it." He looks at Molly, "Make him promise not to burn it." He sighs and hands the book to Harry, "then YOU will make copies and have them sent to me." When he hands the book to Harry, the open page and words on it...stop their faint glow.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden quirks a brow.. "Had dinner twenty minutes ago, Burger King, fantastic stuff, really tasty." He explains patting his belly before continueing "The pizza's aren't for me." he adds, quirking a brow at the glowing text he glances over Batman avoiding looking directly into his eyes "Huh... Molly? You getting anything?" he asks /before/ handing over the book.

Molly Carpenter has posed:
Molly Carpenter lifts an eyebrow watching the exchange of the book to Harry. "I can promise he won't burn... all of it," she remarks quietly. "Maybe a page or a slice of paper. Never know." When the book stops glowing as Harry touches it she just regards it frowning. Instead of answering him directly she steps closer extending a hand to hover over it. "Hand it to the Detective, Harry. I need to feel the exchange."

Batman has posed:
Batman curious, he takes the book again and opens it. The words activate again. It is a faint glow, and there is clearly a warded and layered effect on the book. The invokations in the book would not work if not glowing but in his hands the book is glowing. It smells of old magic but tying it down is hard.

Molly Carpenter has posed:
"That's interesting," Molly murmrs still hovering her hand there. She doesn't meet Batman's gaze either, but her attention is on the book. A halfstep back is taken, and she lets her eyes go fuzzy as if unseeing. Instead she was opening her 'third eye' so as to see the book, and at least the hands of the man who holds it. With this third eye sight open she reaches out, whiel he still holds the book, to rest her hand on one of the glowing pages. "It's old. Intricate. Delicate. It's protected against..." Her eyes narrow again as she tries to suss out the ward on the book before anything else.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara Pezzini is mostly watching at this point. Especially when the words begin to glow. "huh...."

Batman has posed:
There is no supernatural effect on Batman. But his life force and aura are off the charts. This is a man with a will to act and life that shines like a beacon. The book is clearly alight in magic right now, fire moving from him into the book but it isnt magic. The effect is magic but he is definitely not magic. Something is going on. "Old. Interesting." He considers, "I have an angle I need to research on my own. I will arrange to have the original of this and the other brought when I am done.

Molly Carpenter has posed:
"I think it's feeding off your energy to activate it. You're..." Molly looks up blinking a single time as she takes in the sight of him. Full of energy, practically exploding with it. "You've got quite a lot." It's the best option she can think to say as her eyes shut so she can take in the information of the moment and switch back to her regular sight. "Sorry, I know that's not entirely descriptive saying it's 'old'. Ancient more like it."

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden stays silent as well, his senses set to max without activating his third eye, keeping a close watch on Molly concern on his forehead as he keeps watch to make sure nothing /crazy/ happens.. "You both have reason to think there are more of these tomes being used by other groups trying to open gates into the outside?" he asks "If I can have that back.." he says reaching back out to take the book back from Batman. "So.. Think a tracking spell, or should I get the guard and some part timers to scour the city?" he asks Molly "They might be able to find anything fishy for us, this kind of mojo wouldn't be doable inside a threshold.."

Batman has posed:
Batman says, "I think there is a common element that might tie all of these things together. The wards I've found in building so far are laid in the foundation of the oldest buildings in the city. I know there are at least two. The one I have back in the Batcave is clearly a copy of multiple other books...by hand. In human blood."

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden nods.. "If that's accurate, a tracking spell will do the trick." he says simply "Molly, shall you, or shall I?" he asks giving her the option of doing the tracking spell if she wants, or having him do it himself.. "I would avoid carrying this book around any more.. The fact that it's transfering energy from you to it, but not from me lets me know that having some measure of talent might be protection from what the book is doing." he explains unshouldering his backpack to put the book inside..

Molly Carpenter has posed:
Molly Carpenter nods solemnly at that. "Blood is a powerful binding agent. A bit melodramatic, but depending on the context of the text, the purpose of it, it's a component in many spells." She looks over her shoulder at Harry with a sigh. "I'll do it." She reaches into her pocket withdrawing a simple sharp pocket knife and she looks at the Batman. "If I could cut just a bit of the page off? Just a sliver will do. It will let me locate other similar books in the city."

Batman has posed:
Batman is not pleased at this because he has seen the book glow for one and only one other person but he literally can't tell them who or why. He isn't going to argue with Harry about it though and hands him the book. "Do not set it on fire." He hands Harry the book, "Even if it goes all Monstrous Book of Monsters. No. Fire." He nods and looks at Molly. The tracking spell is doing some weird things if she takes a page. It shows seven different directions but the similarity is not enough to triangulate. It is because the books are similar but not identical copies.

Molly Carpenter has posed:
Molly Carpenter slices off a slip of the paper only to step away from them all. Fishing out a peice of chalk she draws a circle around herself, and seals it with a bit of her will. The paper is held up between thumb and forefinger as she gathers the strings of her will and power to set the spell. Unlike Harry, she didn't need to use other objects to focus anymore. Then the paper is put between her lips as she turns in a circle stopping every now and again to point in a direction. "Seven. This will take awhile. I can't triangulate with this many signals pulling."

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden frowns at the ambiguity of the tracking spell.. "You did it right..hrm.. " he says thoughtfully "ok.. Field trip.. Seriously, we /need/ the pizza's now and a paper map of gotham, and..." he pauses rumaging through his backpack to pull out a stoppered pair of inkwells one red, one black..

Batman has posed:
The street lights begin to darken. All of the lights begin to darken. The temperature begins to drop. Something is reaching back through the link. What's the saying? When you look into the Abyss, sometimes the abyss looks back? The book flares to life, not in Batman's hand but still on its own as the tracking link toward it flares as one of the links has (if Molly is still looking) something icy and blue moving back from the tracking and into the book. There is a low moan.

Molly Carpenter has posed:
"Harry! It's not a ward, it's a conjuring!" Molly had already crouched down again drawing another, smaller circle inside the first. The bit of paper is spat out into the circle and she slams her hand down on the side to seal it before jumping back a step still caught up in the ring of her original circle.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden reaches into his duster, the desperado reject of a wizard bringing his staff up with one hand, the blasting rod with another the runes starting to glow as he waits to see what's coming. "Molly, get out of your circle all it will do is prevent you from reacting to outside forces!" he says his neck on a swivel as he looks for the enemy..

Witchblade has posed:
The sounds of tearing and ripping can be heard off to the side. "Oh come on...really?" *rip* "I just bought these..." *slaaaaash* "ugh....fine.....if you must." *shred* And standing over a pile of shredded cloth is Sara Pezzini.....with a silvery metal covering parts of her body, but one thing that may alarm Harry and Molly, if they're paying attention, is that they would recognize the Witchblade on sight.....and it's never a good thing to see.

Batman has posed:
Batman takes a silver Batarg in one hand and is ready to toss it, but is not sure about breaching the circle. Before he can ask, however, there is a mighty roar as tentacles flow out of the book, but its an awful conjuring because as the beast tries to manifest sufficient ectoplasm to manifest, it literally cannot....that's the good news....its too freaking big for the space in the circle that Molly has made but the misconjuration makes it solidify in a sort of semi solid slime such that it is now literally surrounding her as shadow tentacles manifest in the never never (Well, beyond the gates) and the conjuration does not take place. The tracking spell shatters.

Molly Carpenter has posed:
Molly Carpenter dips down to crouch with hand reaching back to brush her thumb over the original line of chalk. Just as that eldrich horror of things spills out of the book so very near to her face. Fear ripples through her as she backpedals now free of the binding. "Ohshitohshit--!" Her head snaps over to see Batman with his weapon, Harry with his staff, and Sara with... Oh my. Things just got VERY bad in Gotham City.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden's forhead furrows "The two of you..." he starts to say something to Sara and Batman when he just stops.. Eldritch horror first.. " he says "Stay back, don't break the plane of the circle, that will let what ever it is fully manifest.." he says... no really commands "IGNUS INFUSIARUS!" he intones a rolling ball of oily flame appearing at the tip of his blasting rod, a wave of hot air infused with brimstone washing off him as the tennisball sized sphere suddenly grows to volleyball size..

Witchblade has posed:
"if it gets free of the circle, I'll take over." Sara says as she walks her way around Batman so bats has a clear shot, and she can leap at it, if it gets free....

Molly Carpenter has posed:
Molly Carpenter stays well back at this. "I'm not really... really good at fighting." She offers as she just gets well back out of the way. Yet she does try to think of a way to counter this somehow.

Batman has posed:
The creature is not manifesting. When the circle drops, the ecoplasm spills out, but it is raw and unformed. It feels AWFUL and it washes over Dresden, Batman and Sara, leaving psychic madness and a residue of terror, but nothing appears.

Batman has posed:
The book falls to the ground and Molly is entirely fine inside of her circle.

Molly Carpenter has posed:
When that wave of ugliness, fear and horror spills out Molly reels back as if physically slapped. Her head rocks to the side, and then she crumples on the ground with her eyes rolled back in her head as she shudders uncontrollably. The Lump-of-Molly curls into a ball just... breathing and gasping heavily.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara seems to be almost completely fine. She shakes her head a little bit as her 'armor' shrinks a little bit, but not incdecently. She does walk her way forward and tries to pick up Molly to get her out of the ectoplasm...or, at least....clean her off. "Molly. Wake up...."

Harry Dresden has posed:
When the circle breaks Harry's ball of fire has gotten to the size of a basketball, the sudden 'ohh shit' moment of the tidal wave of ectoplasm giving him another spike of emotion that has it swell to beachball size before it ram's into the oncoming rush of ectoplasm the scorching scent of brimstone is everywhere as it's engulfed a pillar of fire flaring up into the night sky while he gets innundated with the slime his mind reeling from the attack he starts to look around with a panicked, half crazed look as flight or fight kicks in, and like always Harry chooses to fight..

<<My host..Calm thyself>> Comes the mental presence of his psychic stow-a-way.. <<Your apprentice has been harmed.. you need to render aid..>> The Shados of Lasciel says trying to calm Harry's half crazed mind..

Batman has posed:
Batman says, "Who broke it?" He looks at Dresden, "It wasn't me." And certainly no one saw Batman do it. Something ODD definitely happened since circles do not ever break themselves. Batman has a dark look about him, and nods, "Take the book. I will make sure the other is given to you." There is something cold in his voice, something primal. He has rage he must deal with....but not here....not in front of others. He shoots out his grapnel, and swings away."

Molly Carpenter has posed:
Molly Carpenter is pulled back by Sara, but she's rather limp. Still awake, judging by her eyes wide open, and certainly breathing. There's little reaction though. The ectoplasm that coats her drips off as she's moved along. She's dimly aware of Sara there helping to get the goop off of her and her mouth opens as if to speak. Instead she just whimpers weakly unable to form words.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara hugs Molly against her, even in her silvery armored form. "I'm right here, Molly. Nothing's going to bother you here. Not if I have anything to say about it. I'm right here." She certainly went from eldritch stabbing horror to motherly in the blink of an eye.....
