Cast of Characters: Sabretooth, Dracula, Shadowlite, Mystique

Sabretooth has posed:
It is the dark of the night. There is no moon to be seen in the sky. The team has been parachuted down into Serbia and from there have been hiking to cross the boarder of Latveria. The terrian is not particularly kind as they move through the mountains and forest so as to cross unseen. It has been a few hours, but they finally reach a spot on a hill overlooking a small hamlet nestled in the valley. A few lights can be seen among the small buildings. It doesn't look particularly fierce or intimdating at the moment, but that is what is said about hiding in plain sight.

Those that need them have been equipped with night vision goggles, and the team is on radio silence now. There will be no back up if something does not go well. Victor Creed stands near the forest edge and lifts his head to take a sniff at the air. "Seems clear at the moment," he says in a quiet voice that only the party should be able to hear. "Check your gear," he growls in that same quiet tone. "Time to get messy."

Dracula has posed:
Dracula has been informed of this raid as he is aware of many things going on in the world. Normally he does not engage in recon himself but HYDRA is a special case. He wants to be certain that they are crushed and annihilated. He is early, waiting in bat swarm form, spread across several trees. He waits, ready to shift into a more.. terrestrial based form if need be so that he can personally observe the outcome tonight.

Shadowlite has posed:
Not that they need help with getting around with Shadowlite on the team. The black clad mercenary mutant is decked out in state-of-the-art gear, from his chest based gear web down to hold out pistols in his boots. The only major difference in his usual outfit are the bulkier AR goggles he's using, made to tie into SHIELD networks.

Currently, he's doing a field check on his BR18 assault rifle, stripping and reconnecting the parts. "I have machinegun parts in a chest over here if things get really hairy, I can just get back here and switch out." There's a click as the barrel is replaced on the rifle, and he slings it over his shoulder, looking to Victor, "Do we have a dropoff point yet?" The voice distortion from Shadowlites hood is in full effect tonight.

Mystique has posed:
Mystique stands a bit aloof, away from the others, clad head to toe in the shadowy tactical clothing one might normally assign to a ninja. That is, if you didn't count the submachine gun sideslung across her body or the grenades on the bandolier next to it.

She's going Serbian native, pale skin and dark hair, blue eyes intent as she listens to Shadowlite and Victor do preparations. She'll be in stealth mode tonight, slitting throats and not getting seen as much as she can. And if things get noisier, well...

Then she'll get noisier, too.

Sabretooth has posed:
"This is going to be fast and messy. We want to send a message without really letting them know who is sending the message," Victor growls softly. "Try to stay as quiet as we can for as long as we can. After, we follow the river until we are out of country. Then we can call for pick up. What you've got on you is what you've got. Nothing else coming." Victor is also dressed in a dark body suit although his is less armor and more for blending into the shadows. His long hair is tucked up into a watch cap on his head. His face is smeared with black.

Victor looks to each of them in turn before turning toward the small village at the bottom of the rise. He moves forward quickly, but is surprisingly quiet for a man his size. He freezes suddenly under a tree and raises a fist. Softly at first, but then the sound getting louder. Rockets. In the night sky, flares of rockets can be seen. Judging from their size, they have to be Doom Bots doing routine patrols of the country.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula continues to watch from the trees nearest to the HYDRA compound. He won't be moving until the strike team is close enough to getting inside that he can slip in confident that they will follow.

Shadowlite has posed:
When Victor talks about nothing else coming, Shadowlite just gives a small sigh through the distorter. "So you /don't/ want to use my portals to get there quicker?" Not enough intel is a definite possibility, and Victor is the lead for this one, so he comes along without further complaint. His assault rifle has it's suppressor screwed on as he goes, the fire mode switch flicked to single fire as they start to head out.

Pausing under a tree has Shadowlite watching the surroundings. The Doom Bots are an obvious issue, but they stand out like sore thumbs... and his natural night vision might spot something quickly.

Sabretooth has posed:
"This is HYDRA," Sabretooth whispers from under the tree. "We keep this as low signature as possible until it is time to cut loose. So no portals at the moment." He waits for the Doom Bots to continue their patterns before moving forward again. Quickly, they are approaching the edge of the village. He sniffs at the air. He doesn't smell anything such as explosives or trip wires. He glances towards Shadowlite to see if his Darkforce can sense any hidden traps before they enter the village.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula continues to wait in silence, nothing more than a swarm of bats.

Shadowlite has posed:
"They definitely make the effort to make it look simple and clear, but there's telltale signs of wires here and there." Shadowlite offers as he surveys the village. "They'll be easy enough to avoid if you're paying attention. The real problem are the people. They have obvious concealed weapons along their waists. They're counting on the darkness to hide it."

Bringing up a monocular, Shadowlite does a long range sweep with one eye, "Got one in a tower, too. He's got all the 'trying to pretend I'm not overwatch' markers. Sloppy job, though."

Sabretooth has posed:
"Take him," Sabretooth says with a guttural noise and nods towards the tower. He moves quickly to his right where he smells gun oil on a man moving along a side street of the village. He comes up behind the man. One hand goes over the mouth and one hand slashes at the throat before slapping his big hand over the ripped airpipe. He drags him back to the alley as the man spasms before death.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula is mostly aware of what is going on, however his senses in this form are not very powerful visually. Most of what he percieves at this very moment is audio. Satisfied that the strike team will make it inside, he wills his scattered form to merge. A swarm of bats merge together as they fly from three different trees. The black mass flies off towards another tree somewhat close by. Silence follows and then.. a mist appears, floating down from the treeline towards the HYDRA compound.

Shadowlite has posed:
Taking a look through the monocular, Shadowlite hits the rangefinder component of the device. "Hmmm. Few hundred meters. That'll be a tricky shot if he moves." Shadowlite mutters before he grabs pops the cap on the scope of his rifle, and aims it at the man in the tower. Shadowlite is very out of practice with sniping from this distance, so it takes him a few seconds to gauge the wind and other necessities without a spotter. A single round is triggered seconds later, which goes through the mans chest, sending it flying backwards. Another round is fired for good measure, this one going through the center topper chest... ruining the windpipe.

The man doesn't get a chance to scream as he bleeds out up there.

"Target down, he'll bleed out shortly." Shadowlite offers as he moves to catch up with Victor.

Sabretooth has posed:
Sabretooth nods in acknowledgement as they make their way towards the center of town. It looks like a large schoolhouse from the outside, but it smells funny. Not like chalk or cleaning product. It smells of disel fuel and filtered air. He moves up towards the door and points at his eyes and then towards the door as he regards Shadowlite. Anyone on the other side, he seems to ask.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula slips beneath an ever so small crack beneath the first door to the compound that he can find. In his mist form he manages to find his way to a shadowy corner beneath an unoccupied desk and shifts into a swarm of rats. From there he will await the strike team's infiltration into the building.

Shadowlite has posed:
The monocular is brought up again as Shadowlite sweeps his eye over it. Shadowlite isn't the stealthiest of individuals, but the nighttime is covering up for that. As is killing the covert guards along the way, "There are a few stragglers here and there. Lookouts, it seems. No goggles, so I assume they're more guards than overwatch."

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor nods. He runs a claw down along the crack of the door, ripping at the frame and the handle mechanism. He pushes it slowly inward and moves in. THe light inside is standard overhead florescents. A hallway runs to the left and to the right. Several doors are visiable along the way as if classrooms or offices. There is certainly to be desks and chairs inside them. Sabretooth pauses for a second and listens. The scurry of rats. THe hum of circulating air. Footsteps. Coming this way from around one of the far corners. Sabretooth drops onto all fours and charges down the hallway. As a man in a HYDRA uniform comes around the corner, he is met with the pounce of clawed mutant that is nearly 300 pounds. He is crushed backwards into the wall, back broken, before he is able to make a sound. Sabretooth waves at the door and signals for Shadowlite to take the other hallway.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula would grin if he could, but in the form of a swarm of rats he can only squeak. He revels in the sound of the HYDRA agent being snapped at the spine. But as he has since this mission began, he does not interfere, remaining as he is, and ready to follow the team from a distance as they proceed further into the compound.

Shadowlite has posed:
Looks like stealth is out the window. Still, no reason to expose himself. Stepping around a corner, Shadowlite disappears from sight from the team... and melds into the shadows of the wall. Riding the shadow 'highway' over into the hallway, Shadowlite slips out behind a pair of guards. His rifle is slung, before two dark tentacles are brought into reality over his arms, dark 'mist' emitting as they cross the dimensional border. Two steps later, and they're wrapped around the throats, mouths, and noses of the two guards. Suffocating them. Once he's sure they can't escape the grasp, the tentacles squeeze around their necks, snapping the upper spine slowly.

The sound of two dropping bodies is muffled as the tentacles lower them. Soon, the tentacles disappear... and he's melded into the shadows of the hallway again, slipping along the wall and to the back. He pops out from around a corner, moving over to Victor, "Always with the underground bunkers." Shadowlite quips.

Sabretooth has posed:
"Why fix if it ain't broken," Sabretooth says with a grin like a shark as they begin to descend the stairs towards the main area of the headquarters. "Hit everything fast and hard. No quarter," he snarls but there is a sound of thrill in his voice. He gets to cut loose now. "Leave it bloody for the next HYDRA bastards that try to show up here."

At the base of the stairs leading down is a pair of doors push doors. Sabretooth crashes through them with a roar, knocking two HYDRA agents that had been about to come out the door backwards into tables and equipment.

The room is long and well lite with the florescents. Long tables run down the length of the room. There are at least five of these tables. Each is filled with computers and equipment and what could be weapons. THere are guards and scientists through out the room who now begin to react to the sudden invasion.

Shadowlite has posed:
Shadowlite takes a peek down inside. But only a peek. He needs a visual aid to find a nice out of the way perch. His free hand opens and stretches out just to the back of the stairwell, black lightning arching here and there as a black tear in reality forms, the hand outstretched emitting black mist.

Somewhere down in the bunker in a side room, the other end of the portal is opening.... and a flash grenade is tossed inside as a precaution with his other hand. "Time to go to work." Shadowlite mutters as he steps through. Both hands ball into fists as mini-apertures open, and the three flash disoriented people inside suddenly Darkforce bolts opening their chests.. Tables break, glas shatters. Blood splatters everywhere as Darkforce shreds the room.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula listens to the team's advances. The swarm of rats keeps to the shadows wherever they are found. Beneath desks, chairs, in corners where the light does not shine. If there is no cover the swarm of rats waits until the team has proceded far enough ahead that they will no notice the rats following, ever searching for another place to hide.

Sabretooth has posed:
Sabretooth works the other side of the room. Weapons are being fired, but he seems to pay little attention to bullets striking him. His large bulk allows him to keep moving forward even as his healing factor just heals him as quickly. Claws flash. Throats are ripped open. The walls are being soaked even as he throws another along a table causing computers and equipment to go crashing to the floors. "Think you were safe hiding in Latveria," Sabretooth growls barely recognizable as words at the moment.

Shadowlite has posed:
"When a black portal out of nowhere opens, you people stick around? Darwin award it is." Shadowlites distorted voice fills the air. No one hears him, but he makes the joke anyway. Walking over to the door, it opens to a hallway on the other end of the bunker... and over a dozen HYDRA guards, "Hi boys!" Shadowlite gives a mock salute... his other hand flattening out as he reaching to the ground. A thick Darkforce wall sprouts up between them and him as bullets bounce off of the other side.

"Should have brought more HEs with me." Shadowlite mutters to himself as he pulls one off of his chest gear web... and tosses it over his own wall. Fragmentation shrapnel fills the room, with shards embedding themselves into the Darkforce wall. Portions of the wall break apart from the force, but it stands, barely.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula continues to follow from a distance, keeping to the shadows. He chooses only places where a swarm of rats can fit. Using all of his senses he is able to follow even as the team at times moves through areas with no cover.

Sabretooth has posed:
Very quickly, the room is left quiet save from a spark or two from the equipment. It looks as if an army has been here. The destruction is quite complete and no HYDRA agents or scientists have been left alive. Sabretooth stands on a table as he lets a body slip off his claws. He is breathing heavily as he works on regaining his sanity back from the bloodlust. He snorts through his nose as his amber eyes begin to focus and looks over towards Shadowlite. "Everyone over there dead?"

Shadowlite has posed:
The Darkforce wall 'crumbles', sliding back into the Darkforce void. Shadowlite himself has a few burns on his outfit, but nothing major, "everyone obvious, anyway. I'm using Darkforce attacks to keep our signature minimal for investigation, since I can just send it all back over to the Darkforce dimension." Shadowlite looks around, one hand coming up to hit a button on his goggles, switching them to thermographic mode, "Do we need to check for stragglers?" Shadowlite asks as he checks the room.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula remains further back now that detectable enemies have been defeated. There is no need to follow closely. The rats huddle behind an air vent duct opening.

Sabretooth has posed:
"Always." Sabretooth nods as he climbs down from the table and walks around the room. His nostrils flair as he takes in smells and listens for any breathing. He begins to walk back towards the doors out of the lab. "Keep on the look out for any guards out in the village too as we make our way out. And those Doom Bots will be making another pass soon as well."
