Superman has posed:
The night shift. The Watchtower was quiet, with the Mission Monitor Duty being helmed by Superman tonight. Over the last few days, a few glitches have happened that have raised a few suspicious eyebrows, but nothing significant. Power outages. Showers changing temperatures from hot to cold. Strange sounds. Things disappearing, and re-appearing somewhere else.

Everyone just waved it off with a nervous smile. After all, the Watchtower was one of the most advanced technological marvels in the Sol star system. It must be their imagination.

After a few diagnostics and an overhaul of the computer system, nothing was found, which made the "Big Three" happy at least. With Justice League Chairperson elections coming up soon, they wanted things to go smooth and without any problems to the systems of the Watchtower. However, deep within the satellite, something was sleeping...

The Earth tonight was quiet. Nothing significant required the Justice League to intervene. Within the solar system, there didn't appear to be anything going on. Nothing that could be detected by the advanced systems of the Watchtower at least.

Even Alpha Flight sent an "A OK" message to the Watchtower a few minutes ago, giving them the "all clear". Superman leans back in the chair, and decides to do one last test before everyone comes aboard. Switching the back ups on to do a test, little did Superman know that they had awoken something dark deep within the satellite. Something ancient...and hungry...

Tonight, Superman had requested supernatural aid to try and figure out what was going on. With a quick request, he had asked for Hellboy's help to see if perhaps the issue wasn't technological. Captain Marvel had suggested Pantheon when he couldn't make it, so Superman also sent him a request while authorizing the transporter to allow them access.

Supergirl has posed:
Technically, she should be at home but a hero's work was never done! Alright, Supergirl wasn't here as a hero. She was here because she needed some advice. She showed up with Power Girl, holding about a dozen packages and pamphlets of various sizes and colors. She had so many, she had roped her big sis into carrying some of them.

"I swear, if I get information from one more college trying to recruit me, I'm going to scream. How am I supposed to pick whenever I don't know what I want to be yet?"

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is definitely carrying a few of the pamphlets and looking some of them over. "Well, which ones look good to you?" She then laughs a bit. "You could always take swimming courses and join the crew of Babewatch....or is that Baywatch? Did they cancel that show years ago? Or was the one with the Rock the last episodes. He makes me shudder anyways. he looks like a gorilla."

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Billy called Freddy and explained that there might be a mystical problem at the JLA Watchtower. While the Wisdom of Solomon might be better for figuring out magical riddles, Freddy has resolved to do his best. He transformed into Pantheon and Leaped to where the transporter he as instructed to use is located. The Strength of S'ivaa is so great he could have leaped to the satellite itself, but better to go the way requested.

Taking a Zeta Beam is different than transporting himself, but he could not teleport to the Satellite because he has not been there before. He arrived momentarily and found himself behind two familiar blonds, "Power Girl, Supergirl, hello." Of course, nly Power Girl recognizess Pantheon, Supergirl only met Freddy.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar had heard from Kara that something mysterious was going on at the Watchtower, and Kal was requesting help in trying to figure out what it was. He isn't exactly sure what he could find that Superman couldn't, but perhaps if everyone put their heads together, the team could solve the mystery.

He enters shortly after Karen and Kara, greeting everyone who has arrived in general. Peering at the pamphlets, he chuckles at Kara's dilemma. "I'm sure you'll do amazingly regardless of which one you pick." he remarks with a grin.

Hellboy has posed:
On a technical level, this was most unusual. Ghosts of people who died on earth stayed on earth. It was true that the spiritual world was something else entirely, something not of our strict mundane reality, but no one at SHIELD's WAND division ever heard of spirits drifting up above the limits of this planet. But, the more HB thought about it, the more it could make sense. Astronauts and aviators dying in the air, finding themselves here, or something stowing aboard where it shouldn't be, you had to be ready for anything.

This is why, for the past few minutes Hellboy had been walking around the satellite, ancient, heavy iron thurible hanging from his massive stone hand, burning sticks of incense burning with a distinct smell of mistletoe mixed with frankincense, a distinct scent that was sure to agitate any dead creature up here, whether ghostly or otherwise, the sort of thing that would force such a being to respond in some way if they could. The only sound, the sound of his hooves against the floor of this satellite as the red man looked around. He hadn't much experience with outer space and superhero lairs, but all the same he tried to keep an eye out for anything unusual, anything out of the ordinary...

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
So one of the things about being The Slayer's sidekick - and a witch besides - was that sometimes you got dragged into weird things. Like really weird things. Like the Watchtower asks if you (or someone like you) wouldn't mind popping in and taking a looksee at the strange and giving an opinion. And while usually it was Buffy who got the jobs, this one was actually kind of tailored to Willow herself.

It didn't mean she didn't feel really out of place. And was wondering how she could ask for bus fare home in a tactful way. Of course that meant getting through the evening first.

Green Arrow has posed:
Green Arrow was among the minority who thought the rest were being naive, and had spent the better part of the last few days tracking down what was going on down there. Green Arrow didn't like his equipment being unreliable... and now the Watchtower was considered 'his equipment' as well.

It's around the time Hellboy rounds one corner that Green Arrow can be spotted coming out of a maintenance hatch in front of him. His custom compound bow was on it's quiver holster, and one hand was on some sort of device.

Upon seeing Hellboy, Green Arrow looks him over, and smirks, "So you're the expert, huh?" His voice modulator is engaged as he speaks, and he can visibly be seen giving Hellboy a look over; the white lenses of his domino mask look right at his eyes a moment later, "I'm getting very odd energy emissions all around the inside of the station." Green Arrow offers, before he holds up the device for Hellboy, "Got a record in this, if you care to look for yourself."

Superman has posed:
The first realization that something was wrong? All the power suddenly goes out...and this time, it doesn't come back on! The darkness of space envelopes the JL Watchtower, as the power systems don't "zzzt" or "poot" or "zack" but just...go out. Next thing to go? The gravity, as the Central Hub of the JL Watchtower just stops. All sectors go out, and even the emergency lighting doesn't come on.

Those in the bowels of the Watchtower investigating, Arrow and Hellboy feel a weird vibration. Could it be the emanations that Arrow had discovered? It was almost imperceptible to normal senses, and only detectible by those two investigators. It was like someone was humming a song in the depths of the ocean.

Those on the main deck, Supergirl, PG, Freddy, Lar, and the newly arrived Willow, felt something. It was there, and then gone...a touch, brushing by you, like a breeze, or a soft caress. Chilling to the touch, even for those invulnerable to harm. Super Senses and Mystic senses were all in agreement...Something was on this station, with them!

Supergirl has posed:
Lights going out? Not too much of a problem although Supergirl frowns as she looks around the now dark space they were standing in. "Did someone forget to pay the bill or is this some of that stuff that's been going on?" Which is when the gravity goes out. Not so much of a problem for a person who can fly in space and she simply hovers in the air though she does turn to check on Willow, the one person she suspects is a non flier in the group. She moves closer, reaching out a hand to try and touch her arm. "I've got you," she promises the other woman.

Which is when the creepy feeling hits and all the hair at the nape of her neck stands on end. "Okay, I don't know what that was but I don't like this."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl looks about a bit after blinking her eyes to be able to see...blasted kryptonians. When the gravity goes out, Power GIrl just floats about the floor, and Supergirl checks on Willow easily enough. However, it's when the 'cold' brushes past her, that Power Girl whirls about to find what it was. "I don't know, SG, but I don't like it either. This is freaky....even for a scientist."

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
The Strength of S'vaa has many minor aspects, such as the ability to anchor onself in place so as to be able to move nearly anything. In this case, so as not to float off when gravity cuts out. Freddy surrounds his left hand with the fire of H'ronmeer and holds it up like a torch, "Is everyone OK?"

Internally, he asks, *Apanel, that felt spiritual, you are the one who can see spirits, can we track it?*

Mon-El has posed:
Similarly to Supergirl, Lar isn't bothered by the lack of gravity or lights, simply allowing himself to float into the air. Then there's that odd presence brushing by. He turns around quickly toward the source of whatever that was, and it seems everyone else felt it too. "Whatever that was, I don't think it was it up to any good." He starts to try using his enhanced senses to search the immediate area for anything unusual.

Hellboy has posed:
"I dunno if I'd call myself an 'expert', but I've been dealing with problems like these for quite a while. Name's Hellboy, glad to meet you."

He spoke with that rolling, smooth deep voice as he held out his left hand, clearly his right was occupied...and also far too massive for something like a handshake. As it were, if Arrow accepted, even his smaller left had a hell of a grip.

"I've given the place a once over with Old William here, if this was a conventional ghost, it would make itself known by now. So I'm thinking it's "

Even as he spoke the lights all went out, until they were both cast in pitch darkness. Then he started floating, and flipping upside down as his trenchcoat looked considerably less cool crumpling around with no sense of up or down.

    "...Crap."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
For Willow, this is almost a normal day at the park. Almost. You know, other than the company she's suddenly keeping here. The creepy cool breeze across her flesh - okay, that's not so unusual for her, though generally it comes after something big, ugly, and mishapen has made threatening gestures and spoken in a garbled language.

Maybe not so unusual, but still not the most pleasant of sensations in the long run. The lack of gravity, however - slightly more disconcerting.

"Oh gosh. Lights and everything. You either have a system short, or someone is really upset." Her first instinct is to grab at her satchel and make sure it's not drifing off and away. "Sage is not going to help with this," she mutters of the lack of gravity. Though it might help with that feeling of presence.

In the dark, she's only got a voice to go on when she's grabbed by Kara. "Uh.. this is going to make it a lot harder to do anything." Then, inexplicably, there's a giggle. "I always wondered what it would be like to fly. I guess I know now."

Green Arrow has posed:
"Good, because I'm new to this mystical stuff. I've heard about it, but never been in a situation like this personally." Green Arrow clarifies for Hellboy as he takes the hand. "You're stronger than you look." Green Arrow comments with a bit if strain as the grip hits him.

Then, the lights go out.

Looking up, Green Arrow frowned, "Emergency power should have kicked in by now. The backups are down too." A look at his device produces another frown, before he looks to Hellboy as he heads for the wall nearby... grabbing an oxygen mask. "I've seen a potential pattern during my checkup. I didn't want to color your analysis, but it seems like we don't have time to get a second pair of eyes." He puts the mask on, and points down a hallway, "There's a good possility there's a focal point for this around the Arboretum. I suggest we look there first."

Superman has posed:
Chanting. Those with mystical senses can sense it. Almost...hear it. Ancient. A powerful mystic connection to dark magic was building somewhere within the deep recesses of the Justice League Watchtower. That was the humming. Arrow and Hellboy can sense it first...and it is power. Hellboy's instincts can tell that it is deep, dark, destructive magiks, and is close...

As the humming reaches the upper decks, the deck itself vibrating, Willow feels it first, then quickly after her, Freddy. Finally, the others, as the crescendo seems to beat in perfect rhythmic time, as though counting down, to who knows what?

Those who push out with their super senses can feel those vibrations, and a general direction, deeper into the Watchtower. Those with mystic senses know it is Chaos Magic.

Supergirl has posed:
Thanks to Pantheon, the darkness is pushed away a bit but it doesn't change the feeling that they are no longer alone. Which is when things go from bad to worse. Even she knows that and she doesn't have a mystical bone in her body.

She knows chanting is bad and someone is about to have their heart ripped out of their chest and held up in offering to some dark god.

Or maybe she's just watched too much Indiana Jones.

"I'm not the only one hearing and feeling that, right?" Just in case it was just her losing her mind. She uses her senses to orient. "Cause what I'm picking up is coming from that way."

Power Girl has posed:
"nope. you're not the only one hearing that, SG." Power Girl says to Supergirl, but then she looks to Willow for a moment. "Uhm....I'm going to guess you're more knowledgable of the mystic arts than we are. Can you help us out, please? Also...I'm Power Girl." She then looks towards where the sound is coming from. "As much as I don't want to smash our way through to the source....."

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy can tell it is Chaos Magic, the spell that empowers him is Order Magic, the two are opposed, he feels it like a magnet feels a magnet of the opposite pole. There is something more thoughm a dark aura that is very similar to that of Darkseid...which is an aura he knows well indeed.

Pantheon states, "I can tell, that is Chaos Magic, but there is something else involved, something that feels like the power of Darkseid. I am not sure of the connection, Darkseid rarely uses real magic, usually just technology so advanced it SEEMS magical."

He does not have super hearing, but his magical awareness is working fine.

Mon-El has posed:
Despite Lar's extremely acute senses, he can't seem to pinpoint exactly what that was or where it went as he can with most things. Which means that it most likely has something to do with magic. Ugh, -magic-. He really hates that stuff. Mostly because it's pretty much the only thing that can hurt him or even do anything to him, and it's the only thing that can block him from detecting things aside from lead.

He nods toward Kara when she tries to confirm that she's not the only one hearing that. "Yeah, seems to be coming from somewhere near the Arboretum." he mentions. "Going to go check it out." He starts in that direction.

Hellboy has posed:
"Hey, Arrow, be careful. There's some bad stuff coming around this way."

Hellboy was slow in following the vigilante, because the feeling of being weightless was something he hadn't experienced many times before. After many years of not taking most elevators and holding his breath on glass bridges and brittle old creaky floorboards, he was mostly unable to use his strength or physical locomotion. That, combined with the bottom of his trenchcoat now floating above his head as if he were Cornholio, was a little much for the investigator to deal with.

But after a moment he grabbed an oxygen mask, made sure his revolver was holstered and secured tightly, and started floating and drifting behind the vigilante slowly but surely. He only bumped into most of the walls instead of all of them. That was good, right?

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Chanting is never good. Especially when it's not you doing the chanting. At least it's not dark anymore, right?

"Uhm, guys? This is bad. Like, oh gosh, Willow stop and think. Nope. Sage not going to do it." She's already doing an inventory of her bag. "I'm betting it's not a vampire. I wish it were a vampire. I have things for vampires." Okay, a thing. A ward. But hey, it's better than nothing.

Go check the weird out, they said. It'll be nothing, they said. What ever happens in space they said.

Turns out Willow did not pack her bags for this particular party. Okay, so maybe sage was goign to have to do.. "We really gotta stop those chanters. And uhm.. I'm guesing you don't have black candles, salt, matches.." She's about to launch into a list of possible substitutes when Mon-El makes to leave. "You know what happens to people who leave the party? they get eaten." She resists saying 'by a grue' but she thinks it, and can't help a brief smirk to herself. "Besides, do you even know how to stop a ritual?"

Okay, that one could be easy or hard, depending on who or what is doing the chanting and how they're going about it.

Green Arrow has posed:
Of course, Green Arrow had a suit on with no frills or loose clothing... so nothing to get caught on anything as he floated along.

Even better, the lack of gravity meant nothing to drag at his arrow... giving them more force if he really needed to use them. He also had some experience with weightlessness as a member of Alpha Flight. "I can feel it too. If we want to survive the day up here, we're going to have to deal with it one way or the other." Green Arrow noted, grimly.

"Besides, there's a good chance the others are heading in that direction." Green Arrow takes a handrail at a junction, and sets off to the left with a push, heading to the Arboretum... and as he went, he gave a mental command to the mechanical quiver to construct an arrow, just in case.

Crusader has posed:
There are several things that annoy Bjorn. People eating his chocolate. His store getting robbed. Boy he doesn't know asking his little girl out. And.....folks disturbing his sleep. The massive man sleeps like a boulder, and happened to have been sleeping in one of the Watcher Towers Bedrooms.
The lights going out didn't wake up. The random noises didn't wake him. But when he begin to hear chanting and folks talking, his sleep was thusly disturbed. He get up groggily and heads for the sliding door...only to find it wasn't opening. "Ahhh, the abyss is this" he knocks first, a metallic clonk. Nothing. A harder bang....still nothing.

Fed up with this, he slams on the sliding door untill it dents all the way open. "Bah. Damn door...why da power oot anyways." he rubs his eyes and begins down the hall after making such a ruckus. His spear as usual was on his back, but he had no idea what was going on. Instead he makes his way towards where all the noise was comming from - which was hopefully not the chanters and instead everyone else!

Superman has posed:
The Arboretum was dark, as was every place on the Watchtower. Here, there was something else. The plants were all in a severe state of decay. The smell and the feel of the place was awful and overwhealming for those with super senses. The vibrational hymn to ancient Chaos and Darkness was getting louder. Deeper. Darker. Faint screams could be heard, or endless agony...or was that metal, contracting because of the icy cold of space slowing caressing the Watchtower with its icy grip?

Something...deeper in the darkness...there! In the centre of the Arboretum was where the voices, the cries, and the chanting were coming from. A dark shape was hovering above the ground, draining the very life essence from the room. Everyone who walks into the room suddenly feels weak, as though their very power was being drained...

...as that power was being drained, the crescendo gets higher. Two dark, crimson spots of light flare open, and look at you. Not just at you, deep into your souls. The chanting doesn't stop, but the feeling of doom seems to creep upon you, that and the feeling of inevitability. Depression. Sadness. Loss. Death. It envelopes you as the chant changes slightly. As though this chant was now trying to stop you. It doesn't hit the mystics as hard, as though they have an innate resistance, or Arrow. This Chaos Magic was targeting the "heavy hitters"...hard!

Supergirl has posed:
'Don't you dare wander off without us! Don't you watch horror movies?" Supergirl admonishes as she keeps that grip on Willow. She goes to follow Mon-El. "All of us go or none of us go."

When the banging noises are heard, she turns to face things only to see Bjorn coming their direction. "Oh thank Rao. I thought you were something creepy."

Then she moves to follow Mon-El again. She gets almost to the Arboretum when the chanting has its effect. Kryptonians are tough as they come until magic is involved then they are just big marshmallows. She is no exception.

She slows, letting go of Willow as she crosses her arms over her midriff, frowning as she looks away while seeming to try to get smaller. "Maybe this isn't such a good idea." The girl that is always full of hope is feeling the slam of depression.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl stares at Mon-el. "Really?" She says following Supergirl down to the Aboretum....and only hears the chanting before she's dropped to her knees and fists....physically, despite there being no gravity. "Dammit..." She groans in place as the slam of all the negative emotions hit her. "Why the hell am I here?" She whimpers out...

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy has to let Ate guide him in microgravity motion, the goddess of Impulse is quick to show him how to use reflexive skills. He boldly moves forward and on to the source of the magic. He can feel the magic picking at the edges of the Champion spell, but he still has access to the powers of the gods. He calls upon the power of Mamaragan with a single word, "Shazam!" Controlled by his power, it creates a flash of magical ligtning arcing fron his right hand to the shadow. It may not be the wisest thing, but it is bold, and Boldness, not Wisdom, is in his power set.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar ignores both Willow and Kara. Whatever it is that's down there, he can just punch it until it stops doing whatever it's doing, right? That's usually the case with most things. "Hey Kara, you see Kal anywhere tonight? I thought he was the one who wanted us to help out with whatever's--"

But he stops upon being assaulted by that awful smell of decaying plants. "Ick, the gardener quit or something?" he mutters, before his attention is drawn toward those creepy red eyes and the screaming. Daxamites and Kryptonians are among the toughest and strongest species in the galaxy, but when it comes to magic...well they're kind of screwed. Which is why he's always hated it.

Suddenly, a deluge of negative emotions seems to wash over him for no apparent reason. But just who is screaming and chanting? It seems the only other thing in here besides he and the rest of the crew is that big dark thing with red eyes. Hmm...it seems to be rather shadowy, but not ethereal. So he disregards the feeling of weakness he is starting to get and flies in its face if just to see if it can be punched into a wall with the force of a speeding bullet.

Hellboy has posed:
As Hellboy slowly followed behind the Green Arrow, the big bruiser listened to the bona fide hero's words and briefly considered them.

"There's a day up here? Not important, yeah I've been dealing with problems like these for a long time. When the supernatural is concerned, older is stronger. And I don't know about you, but I don't like the idea of a creepy crawly having access to a big-ass place like this. Seems like a bad combo, y'know? Ah! Damn."

More commentary as he drifted head-first into a metal doorway, before shaking his head and crawling through.

When they got close to the presence, Hellboy wanted to look over and comment on all the bright sunny people wearing bright colors and capes, but a familiar emotion washed over him. The emotion that threatened him every time he looked in the mirror to sand down his horns, the same feeling when he put his father in the ground. For Hellboy, misery and depression were familiar landmarks, when you dealt with monsters and decay, it tended to come with the territory. And when you were a monster yourself, it tended to color your perception.

Which meant, even though just like the others he didn't come closer to the being in the center, even as his glowing yellow eyes were more downcast than usual, he had a better grasp on his mental facilities than it seemed others did.

"It's...it's feeding on this. It wants strong people in here...it's eating our lifeforce, an' putting a whammy on us. An' it's really pissing me off."

And with that, he unholstered the Good Samaritan, instantly bringing that massive oversized revolver forward, and squeezing off a deafening gunshot, aimed right at the center mass of this malevolent shadow. That was not going to be pleasant to listen to...but maybe it would be a welcome change from the deep vibrational cult chanting in here.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
It's a little bit like herding cats. Not that Willow has herded cats.. well, okay, there was that one time.. But more seriously, there was a problem here. Not only were people starting to divide and quite likely not conquer, but whatever this was - whoever? - was sucking the essential essence of hope out of everyone around her. It wasn't like she couldn't feel it, because she could, but it wasn't hitting her as hard yet. The others, though - she could see it as their features crumpled in on themselves and looks of hopelessness and despair replaced the stalwart go-get-em attitudes.

It was also, annoyingly difficult to think while this was all tugging at her. And thinking was something she needed to do. Quickly. Especially as her anchor, Kara, has now let go of her and Willow is threatening to drift away.

"Would you stop that!" she hisses with a vague gesture that takes her, and quite possibly Kara if she's still close enough, out of the line of fire of the soul-sucking despair. Forgetting for the moment that she 'needs' her 'things' to do that sort of stuff.

Working fast, once she manages that, to drag out her laptop and try to balance it awkwardly against herself while she searches for more information. Anything, really, that might help.

Green Arrow has posed:
As the chanting gets stronger in the chamber, Green Arrow stops just before the main entry, "Sounds like it's coming from here..." Green Arrow mutters as he takes another set of lenses from the utility pouch on his quiver, and sets them on the lenses of his domino mask.

Upon seeing the figure inside as he peeks around the corner, Green Arrow replaces the regular arrow with an electrical net arrow at a mental command, nooks... and fires it at the form.

That's when he feels the negativity wash over him. Sure, he's dealt with a lot worse while he was stranded in Hell, but the frustration, the helplessness he felt back then is coming back. It's a mild PTSD episode clouding his vision just a bit, and he has to fight to regulate his breathing to keep it from getting worse.

Constantine has posed:
The problem with having a house with a mind of its own is that it has a mind of it's own. John had been heading out the door to an exorcism only to find his front door didn't open up outside but opened... well, here. Wherever here was.

Naturally it closes behind him before he can turn and nope out of whatever bollox the House has gotten him into now.

"Wish I never cheated in that card game..." he murmurs before he takes note of the chanting in the dark. "Oooh, you bloody bastard,"he grumbles at the house as he turns to survey his surroundings. "What have you gotten me into now?"

Crusader has posed:
"....and you are?" he asks Supergirl "...and thar iz?" looking at Powergirl and Willow. Who the heck where these people? And what was that chanting? It is all this moment, he feels a bit arkward as he was in his civilian form. Welp can't do anything about that ow."ANd whit be goin on anyways? Though trust Bjorn. Kin be creepy all by Bjorns self" he claims as he follows into the death and decay that was the arborotium.

And when he saw it he was baffled. Where had all the life gone? The green? Where...was....all the happiness. He knew these emotions well, saddness and dispair. Loneniless and Anguish. A deep depression of a never ending hole. They been life long friends of him, from a war long past, to family that has left him but a year prior. It all came back to him...as well as a knew terror.

He tried to cling onto a new hope - that of his daughter. But even that fire was extinguished as he saw her inevitiable death....and the thought of losing her too was almost too much. He had to brace agaist a wall. His hand forming into a fist. He says "....oi..n...nit sure whit dis be...bit" he is quiet "...do nit let it stop yer." his voice quiet and forelone as if he was trying to lie about to himself that anything can be done. There was nothing...and deep down he knew it. Or at least something was making him think such.

Superman has posed:
The feminine form hovers in the centre of the room, the chanting all around her. Surrounding her. The two red dots of crimson light pierce the gloom, revealing where she was. A dark, almost incandescent smile was barely visible, as her voice mixes with the screams, the moans, and the oncoming crescendo from the hapless heroes, trapped in a web.

The lightning from Freddy hits something, a maelstrom of screams around the entity, and dissipates into nothingness, enveloped by her laughter. Eerie, and mirthless. Then, there is Bjorn's pain is even more fulfilling, giving her more power. Ah terror. So...delicious.

"Yesssssss....." A hiss of exhultation, and the magic was absorbed into the spell. "Thannkkksssssss..."The red eyes close in ecstasy as Supergirl moans in depression. A sigh erupts from her lips as Power Girl whimpers out her cry.

A chill moves this being with the sounds from Mon-El's pain, as he impacts with the mystical barrier erected around her. A "CRACK!" like lightning erupts briefly along the shadowy field, flaring for the briefest of moments. It is strange as Lar hits it. Like a maelstrom of negative mystical energy, leeching his very life force...stuck there, if he remains there for much longer, he will be sucked dry of all of his life essence. And pain! Every nerve ending on fire!

Then "her" eyes find Hellboy's, and she laughs. Maniacally, without reservation, like a psychopath. Her feminine voice seems surrounded by a masculine voice, familiar to Pantheon and that dark presence he sensed earlier. As she focuses on Hellboy, she says, "Ahhhhh. Finally. True power. And wisdom! Not like these mortals!"

The "woman" waves towards the other heroes. And then the crack of the weapon. Time seems to stand still for a moment, as the bullet heads towards the entity, and moves, ever so, towards her, striking her in the shoulder. A scream of agony is elicted from her lips, as she feels the pain, the blood gushing out towards the back of the room.

For the briefest of moments, everyone is free from the spell, dropping her shield. AT that exact moment, Arrow's electrical net arrow hits the woman, stunning her. It was like a wave of relief floods everyone all at once. A quick spell of dismissal was spoken to destroy the net, that the mystics understood, and the woman was now more visible to everyone. Willow is the first to figure it out...is it...the Enchantress! With something else? Something was wrong. And John was just in time.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is fighting against this 'curse' upon her, but it's an uphill battle. Her origins weighed down upon her, as was her purpose....

but then...the spell lifts and she slowly rises to her feet. Once she regains her feet....her eyes are RED. And she LOOKS pissed. "I really....really didn't want to relive that." And red beams of light....short red beams of light lance out from her eyes towards the 'entity'....stopping just after...so she doesn't cut the station open.

yes...she's that pissed.

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy realizes he needs a different strategy, and thinks he has one, he turns to Willow, "I need you to channel my energy for me, I am going for the weakness a being of spite has, I am going to extend my power of Compassion through you, and force this thing to feel compassion for others." It may LOOK like a pretty woman, but the way it is acxting it deserves the title "thing".

Mon-El has posed:
Okay so punching doesn't -always- work. In fact, Lar is suddenly in a world of pain, and though he was able to sort of shake off the despair earlier, now that it was combined with the physical assault, he crumples...

Suddenly images of Daxam's devastation when Krypton was destroyed flood through his mind...and then, the Phantom Zone. Oh, the agony of that endless void, of the deep, infinite feeling of loneliness and abandonment that could never be broken, with no hope of freedom. A thousand years is a long time to endure such torture...

Out of that despair, rage boils up--rage toward whoever or whatever trapped him in that torment for so long. Whatever the reason was, he would've been better off dead! Eyes blazing with the same red as Karen's, he was about to unleash it on whoever was unfortunate enough to be closest to him...

But then in a moment, it all evaporates as the spell is lifted when Hellboy manages to hit the woman. Snapping out of it, he instead turns the thermal vision at Enchantress, the red beams lancing through the air at her.

Hellboy has posed:
The shot landed flush, and instantly the recoil caused Hellboy to spin in place, unable to stop himself as he spun and floated upward from the force of the gunshot, until he hit the ceiling and was able to finally get his bearings again. He didn't ralf, that was good, but when he looked at the situation again, it was different. He'd cocked back the hammer without thinking, was aiming the gun again, until he saw the human features of a woman...a spellcaster? A cultist? Something different?

Whatever she was, she looked human, and Hellboy didn't kill humans. The gun was uncocked and re-holstered, instead he kicked off the ceiling with his hooves, drifting toward her even as he was taking off his trenchcoat. The heat vision cut past him, and he would wait and see what happened. If he got close enough, and she wasn't being blasted, he would try and 'bag' her with his trenchcoat, to add another layer of distraction for the girl while the other experts could gather themselves and act.

"We don't have long, this girl knows what she's doing. If you're gonna do something, do it now!"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Things click and come together quickly once she's got the database up and running, and while things aren't pretty, it does give Willow a plan of attack to offer. John's arrival, as it happens, is entirely fortuitous.

Willow quickly gives a rundown of what they're up against, and without looking up from her monitor sets out a plan. "We need to distract her. I'm going to force feed her the opposite of what she's doing. If I can counter that, she'll be forced back into her body. We need to lock her into that body so that she can't change again."

The implication being that if she gets to be Enchantress again, everyone is going to be very, very unhappy.

Ollie, she's noticed, didn't get hit like the others did. And that he's made an attack on her. That can be used to their advantage. "She doesn't get you for some reason. You need to be our biggest counter attack. Things she won't expect." At least that's reasonable to Willow's mind. "And we have to make this fast. She's not known for losing her control of a situation."

It's all pretty much right as the control waves goes down. And once information is imparted, Willow starts on her portion of the plan, focussing raw commpassion at the woman, expecting others will do their part.

Green Arrow has posed:
"Urgh!" Green Arrows voice modulator garbles his voice a bit, but the pained grunt is easily recognized as his PTSD hovers on the edge of his perception. "That... was not fun." He remarks, before he turns back around the corner, out of sight. "I got nothing for mystical crap. I'm going to need to talk to someone about that." He grumps, before he starts to do something that's one hell of a gambit.

She's feeding on life sources? Take them away.

"Red boys gun seems to actually hit her. I was just gonna set the garden on fire, but we might be able to stun her if you can break her shields with those rounds." Green Arrow throws out as his mechanical quiver starts to construct more of the few electrical net arrows he has, and fire them at her.

He only has about five more of those, but they're the best arrow heads he has for this situation, floating through space and launching.

Constantine has posed:
The sudden light show as the Kryptonian and Kryptoninan-lite let loose with their eye beams has John flinching backwards.

"What in the-" he begins but his apprentice's words cut through the chaos. "Sounds like a plan."

He could figure out where the hell he was and what the hell was going on later. "Someone get me a bit of her hair," he shouts to the supers. He needed something to link him to her, and he had his own preparations to attend to.

His hands come together as he begins to chant.

Crusader has posed:
Bjorn was a bit of an emotional eater sometimes. When the spell wave ended, in true cartoon fashion, he burped up an /entire/ bowl of buttered popcorn, and began snacking on it feverishly. He had a wide eye expression as if scared...or was happy? Who knows with him. But as idea was forming as Willow made her plans know. If compassion was needed, and Arrow was to be on of the biggest distraction...than why not double the life count?

Bjorn seems to simply dissappear. Than about 30ft in the zero G air, a second Green Arrow appear...or shall we say B-Arrow! He had a quiver, and sheathed bow. Yea, he can look like someone, but he can't mimic such skill as Green Arrows. But what he deoes have is a few gadgets on hand, among other supplies. Hopefully Enchantress was too distracted to notice where the Arrows where orignally where!

Regardless, B-Arrow does have another trick up his sleeve. Gadgets. He pulls out A freeze gun from the Fungus Invasion, as well as an Apocolypse Lazer all the way from when Darksied attacked, plus a few grenades. His eyes meet Ollie briefly as if ready to toss him extra weapons if needed.

His voice was modulated, different. "Setting things on fire is still a possibility...then we can freeze it over like hell" he says with all due seriousness...before he chucks a apple at Enchantress head...yes an actual apple. Work with what you got as they say.

Superman has posed:
Zat! The two lances of red energy from PG leap towards the Enchantress, and suddenly stop before striking her. A momentary distraction that she absorbs. It was the remnants of the spell, the connection that she had with Power Girl, that allows her to predict that attack. Such sweet agony.

Pretty woman indeed. She was incredibly attractive, to both sexes, a side effect of the Despair/Drain Spell and Geas. What were they planning? Her eyes narrow, as she feels another connection re-connect. The Daxamite. Delicious once more. Death. Destruction. Loneliness. So pure, the rage! Ahhhhh....Zat! This time absorbing the heat vision was more...challenging, as the look of effort crosses her face.

Another distraction. They were starting to work together...add in Green Arrow's, well, arrows, and this was getting hard for her to maintain her concentration. She could feel her tenuous connection with the Arrow, and this connection actually weakened her just enough. Something about him conquering his pain...and then, was that an actual apple? Bjorn's attacks were also a distraction, all of it making this tougher for the Enchantress to recover.

Pulling herself up and craddling her destroyed right shoulder, the Enchantress raises her left hand and growls at the assembled heroes. With a sneer, she says, in that feminine/masculine voice, "You think this is over now, don't you? This is just the beginning. Darkness is coming. Chaos and Disorder. Not even the Great Lords of Order will be able to help you. We already have your Champion..."

The chanting begins again, this time surrounding everyone in the room. As Hellboy grew closer, floating towards her, he could tell that something big was about to happen. Floating towards ground zero, she seemed to ignore him. Her attention was elsewhere.

Except. Something happens. The Enchantress frowns, feeling something slip. "No..." It was the heroes, working in unison, distracting her from the true threat. Her eyes find Willow, then Freddy, and finally Constantine. "You. And your whore witch." Her eyes flick back to Willow. "And that immaturechild." Freddy. Back to Constantine. "What are you up to?" Her eyes narrow, and her frown deepens.

Supergirl has posed:
It took a moment for Supergirl to recover after that spell was broken. Longer than the rest. She wasn't used to those feelings and it was complete and all encompassing for her. She tried to always have positivity though there had been times in the past when her situation pressed down on her. But not like that spell. She shuddered, never wanting to feel that again.

She rose into the air, hearing the words of Constantine. He wanted some hair? He'd have some!

She's ticked off and she flies for the figure, not caring that it is a girl as she goes for the hair yank like some girls fighting on the school playground. Not because it's a tactic she usually employed but she could fight dirty with the rest of them.

Until she heard the words about having their Champion. Her eyes flared red with anger, like plasma leaking out from the edges. "You better not mean Superman. Because I will rip you apart like a human would a fly if you hurt him."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl saw her shots fall short, but even after her shots were absorbed, others hit the entity. This made her smile. She might've been a heavy hitter, but it wasn't mainly because she could hit hard, but she could help others hit hard. That was her true power.

It was only after the entity started asking questions...that she decided to use her freezing breath.....hopefully no one flies in front of her.

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy is opening himself completely to Apanel, letting the power of the Goddess of Compassion flow through him and into Willow for her to use. He has to immerse himself in the power and believe this will work. Of course, that means he is feeling EVERYTHING that anyone else in the room is feeling, it is nearly drowning hime in all the emotions. He is barely keeping a gripon who he is...thanks to the help of Ate. who enjoys this bold and intuitive plan and is lending support. The othrs are aloof, their connection might weaken him at a critical time (so they are busy restraining Zonuz from doing just that).

Mon-El has posed:
Lar hears the request for a piece of this lady's hair, but of course Kara is all over that already. He chuckles a bit at it.

Huh, well, even if the thermal vision didn't exactly hit, it -did- seem to be providing the others with a good distraction. He -is- pretty good at distracting people...

You know what's -really- distracting? Setting everything on fire. He picks up a fallen tree log. "Hey lady, catch!" he shouts at her, and chucks the thing -hard-. As it flies, with no gravity to hinder it, he hits it with thermal vision, setting it on fire. When it hits the floor, it'll probably also set all that dead foliage on fire, too, provided they're not enchanted or some stupid magic thing.

Hellboy has posed:
This was all a big cluster of chaos, the sort of thing that Enchantress probably thrived on. For Hellboy's part, he was in the rare situation where in terms of strength and punching went, he was one of the underdogs of the team, one of the 'little guys' as it were. He looked at the trenchcoat in his hands, looked at the people throwing trees and converging on the woman, and figured any assistance he could offer was going to come in the form of charms, and physically staying out of the heavy hitters' ways.

So he drifted back, and started thumbing through the many charms he kept on his belt, that were now floating like tendrils of metal hair. If the people in capes didn't succeed, he'd have one last hail mary he could play. After that, well...

Green Arrow has posed:
That settles that. Even if he wanted to keep going, the fire would be a serious concern.

A grapnel arrow is launched at Hellboy, and the maglock-soles in his boots are activated with a click to a button on the sides of his heels. Locking onto the roof of the corridor to act as an anchor, Hellboy is grabbed and pulled into the hallway, guided out of the chamber, before Green Arrow starts to launch firebomb arrows into the chamber himself. The blaze already started spreads quickly... and he hits the emergency bulkhead activation switch on the console at his entry.

"Everyone out. She'll lose her oxygen soon enough!" Green Arrow shouts over the commlink through his mask.

Crusader has posed:
And fire. They couldn't wait till the mystics did their mystic buisness? B-Arrow floats to a burnt tree and pushes off it quickly towards the closing Bulkhead door...and he jams himself in it to keep it open as to stop it from closing everyone inside - after all an emergency closing door is a bit useless if it closes slowly, but was ready to let it close when everyone was through

He didn't think he would ACTUALLY have to break out the freeze gun, but here he is blaster in hand. Cause they still needed time. He uses the freeze blaster to freeze/put out any fire that spreads towards the mystics, to keep them relatively safe from being burned - not much he can do about the smoke.

Otherwise he keeps a path of frozen debree path to where they are, clear of fire as well. "Thinking the fire MAY have beena bit early friend" he says rather cheerily and with a chuckle, but none the less keeps his focus. "Uh, need a gun or something? Und how bout you red one?" indicating Hellboy as well.

Superman has posed:
Rage! Anger! As Supergirl flies in at her casual under-the-speed limit speed, the Enchantress cries out in agony as the HANDFUL of hair is ripped out of her head. With her left hand, she tries to hold it in place, but before she can blink, Supergirl is gone. Ignoring the barb, the Enchantress says something under her breath, and appears to look suddeenly refreshed.

"Your precious "Superman" has been taken by my master at the beginning of this attempt at making you all our slaves. Perhaps that moment has passed. But I can still destroy you all!" Her eyes flash, and she kneels to touch the deck once more, whispering to the Dark Gods of Chaos.

This time, Power Girl's freezing breath had an impact, stopping the Enchantress cold for a few seconds, and add to that, the fiery blaze that Mon-El provides, and the explosive fire that Arrow launches, as the rest of the team moves into place. Bjorn's efforts to stop the door worked, keeping it open.

All of these distractions allow Freddy, Willow, and Constantine the time to start using their spell against her, and without that few precious seconds, all would have been lost. With Hellboy as the backup things were not going the way she thought they would.

It was working. Something within her was changing. Her expression changed from one of hate and anger, to one of compassion. Then it flashes back, to rage and hate, and then back to compassion. Finally, with a cry of absolutely rage, the Enchantress was gone. Left in her place, was a girl, in the fetal position, crying.

Only, it wasn't the girl that should have been there...this wasn't the Enchantress in Willow's biofile. This girl isn't even human - with that, the hum of power as the lights and the Watchtower start to come back to life.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
And then she was none.

Or rather, it's a girl(ish) creature who isn't the Enchantress, and isn't June. While others tend to the young thing, Willow siddles over to John and whispers, "We have a problem. If that's not her, she could be anyone. Anywhere. At any time." On top of all her abilities.

Things were, in the words of a Chinese curse, about to get interesting.

Crusader has posed:
Well, this was a ....semi nice turn of events. The enchantress was down...and someone was left in...there place? Bjorn was seriously confused right now. But it didn't matter. Heroing first, questions later.
With power restored, the door he kept open, stopped it emergency closing proceders after it realize it was being held open. This gave B-Arrow who shifts back into just Bjorn more room to work with.
He marches forward and begins putting out the fires with the blaster. Meanwhile emergency sprinklers from their systems activate to help in dousing the fire, which helps the freeze blaster freeze better. Now they were going to need to regrow this entire garden again! Oh...maybe he'll hire poison ivy! He calls out "Well, is everyone alright?" as he keeps fighting the flames.

Constantine has posed:
"Thanks, luv," John murmurs when Kara hands him the clump of hair.

He sets to work on the casting, as the hair burns away in his hands leaving an awful stench.

When it's done, John slumps to the ground. The spell had cost but it'd worked.

He pulls out a cigarette and lights it up. "You Justice blokes owe me one," he calls out around his cigarette.

Though Willow's news has him cursing: "Bollox."

He hated when things got interesting.

Green Arrow has posed:
It doesn't take long for Green Arrow to realize what's going on when power is restored... and for Hellboy to nearly pull Green Arrow from the roof where his low powered maglock boots are still keeping him on the roof.

The magnets in those boots are good... but they're not 'keep Oliver and Hellboy both on the roof in full gravity' good.

Within moments of gravity being restored, the release switch for the reel on his quiver is thumbed on his bow, and Hellboy is treated to a slight brake before he plummets to the ground on his own power.

Sorry, not sorry.

Without a word, the bulkhead is deactivated with a fist slam, and the heels are once again clicked, allowing Green Arrow to backflip to the ground onto his feet in a smooth motion, and heading over to the girl.

It takes a half minute to do a quick checkup... and before long, Green Arrow gives a 'hmm', "Not an illusion, she's non-human."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl finally stops using her freezing breath, and looks to COnstantine. "Definitely. We appreciate this." She looks to the woman in place of the Enchantress and tilts her head. "Sooooo...." She says before looking to Willow and John. "What do we do now? I imagine she wasn't doing this of her own free will, right?"

Mon-El has posed:
Almost as quickly as the lights had gone out earlier, they come back on and the dark, menacing being is gone. And in her place...there is...some girl? Lar wasn't familiar with who was -supposed- to be there, but he is confused all the same. Had she been possessed or something? Yeah, he knows next to nothing about mystics and magic and what-have-you.

He frowns at her, attempting to use his enhanced senses once more to examine her. First to see if she's all right physically, and secondly to see what exactly she is.

Hellboy has posed:
Green Arrow tumbles with grace, agility and training, doing cool aerial maneuvers before returning deftly to his feet.

Hellboy plummets through the air, hitting the metallic ground with a hard 'THUD' as his skull is rattled from the impact and his trenchcoat falls beside him in a heap.

Moments later, the big red agent pushes himself to his hooves, checking his nose before being satisfied that nothing was broken, nothing was bleeding. He was made of tougher stuff, after all, and he was even able to approach the group.

"So, uhhh, I guess we cracked the case. And did someone set all those trees on fire in there? Was that her who did that? That was a dumbass decision, but I'm glad it worked in our favor."

He idly spoke, apparently being unaware of Mon-El's decisive tactical decision earlier. He looked around as he fished a pack of Marlboros from his utility belt, and fishing his trenchcoat off the ground finally.

"How do we get off this boat, anyway?"

Supergirl has posed:
As everyone turns their attention to the woman left in the place of the Enchantress, Supergirl's eyes fade to their normal blue but there is something else on her mind.

"Superman!" She begins to call out for him, knowing if he is there and awake, he can hear her. Then she is gone, a blue and red blur disappearing at top speed as she flies through the station.

It is less than a minute later that she returns to the room with the others. Her expresssion is bleak as she lands on the ground. "I can't find him. She must have him. Somewhere."
