An Unexpected Guest
Date of Scene: 30 June 2019
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Robin visits May at Clint and Skye's house. They learn someone in SHIELD might be connected to murders and that the Bat Family really needs to learn manners when it comes to entrances and exits.
Cast of Characters: Hawkeye (Barton), Quake, Melinda May, Robin (Wayne)

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Evening in New York and Clint comes into the kitchen of the Greenwich townhome with a plate of burgers fresh off the grill, in what Clint was calling a 'a party test run' but was really just an excuse to grill something.

"Hey, burgers are ready, grab drinks, I'll have the fixings and buns laid out in just a second," Clint calls as he sets the plate down and gets to work on exactly that.

Quake has posed:
"Still not allowed to grab anything," Skye complains. "Just do finger exercises. "Bo-ring."

There were any number of things Skye wasn't allowed to do yet. If it weighed more than a filled coffee mug, she wasn't allowed to lift, fetch, or carry it. Beer, she supposed might fit the bill?

"They smell great, by the way. Not the usual odor of burnt offerings. Who'd you sacrifice to make that happen?"

Melinda May has posed:
May is also there in the kitchen, pouring herself some tea. She moves out of Clint's way quickly enough when he enters with the burgers, letting him handle the meal completely without assistance this time. She does, though, claim a beer (yes, a frou-frou one) to bring out to Skye. Along with a drinking straw. It had already been established that if she feels the slightest twinge when lifting an object she is to stop immediately. Hence, the straw.

"I still plan on challenging your grilling skills, Clint. Turkey does actually make decent burger-like foods."

At least she admits they're not REAL burgers?

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
As night falls on the nice home so does a small boy land quietly on the roof of the building letting himself lose from the wire he used to lower himself down from the Bat-Drgon that circles in the sky. He was well practiced in walking, and moving in wierd positions quietly, so as they talked below he is already creeping to the edge of the building. He listens for other neighbors to make sure none are in the wrong position, as he attaches a device to the side of the roof that seems to hold its place as he gives a cable he attaches to it a quick pull. Then with a nod he glances over the edge hitting the button on his gauntlet.

It would tempoarly knock out the power to the whole block with just a small 'pop' noise, a small gadget from Tim, and using the now darkness he would leap off the side. The cable would pull taunt right above the ground as he would land in a crouch by the back door pushed against the wall.

Now came the hard part as he tested the door pulling it open he quickly entered the place in a crouch trying to use any cover to hid his presence. Once in if not detected he would mearly stand, and let himself be seen. It was a wierd concept to him, but he was not here as an assassin, so he just tried the best he could to look not murdery, with his calm blank stare from behind the cowl.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
"Right," Clint says about Skye's restrictions. "I meant that metaphorically?" he covers poorly with a smile. "No clue how that works but lets go with that."

He nods thanks to May when she gets Skye her beer and straw combo. "Still think we should have sprung for the twisty ones that are in shapes and things."

Then the power goes out.

"Aw. Power," Clint complains, even as he leaves the food prep to grab a knife from the knife block and flip it into a reverse grip. It could just be a power failure, but given how this last couple of months had gone he wasn't taking chances.

"Gimme a sec, and I'll go check the fuse box," he says as he moves cautiously towards the basement door.

Quake has posed:
Skye snorts, and laughs at Clint. "Wow, must have been a greater god. Look at you using words like metaphorically," she teases. "And wait.. do I like the twisty straws or are they the gross ones?"

Skye didn't like straws at all. It was totally ruining the beer experience.

She's about to say something when the power flips out. "Oh, hey, if the fuse doesn't work, we still have the generator." Yeah, she's saying that in the voice of someone who is smugly pleased she made a case for keeping it. Because wow, not weeks later and there it is, a local brownout. "Must be all the folks in the neighbourhood pulling out their air conditioners."

Melinda May has posed:
May opens the beer and sets it in front of Skye with the straw alongside, then puts her own tea down. She apparently plans to go back and help Clint finish the dinner prep after all. But then, the power goes out and her ICER is in her hand almost as quickly.

Clint says he's checking on the fuses, so she stays standing next to the kitchen table, as if expecting this to be an attack of some sort. A quick glance out a window, though, shows that this house isn't the only one affected. She's not trusting that.

"Skye, stay where you are. I don't want to deal with the paperwork if you fall down and reinjure something." Yes, she's mostly teasing the younger woman, but she's still subtly warning her that this might not be an innocent blackout.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian was in, and standing thinking maybe some sensors should of detected him by now. He looks confused for a moment as he doesn't seem to understand this reaction. As he wanders in now in the dark, though able to see just fine with his cowl he turns a corner right as Clint is about to enter the Basement the dull red glow of his eyes visable from this close of a distance. Standing now to the side of Clint is what looks to be a shorter person dressed as a bat. He has the uniform though it is more black, and dark red, with the cowl and everything though he does't look to of expected to find someone just on accident. He was stll kind of new to this 'let people see you' thing. Infront of Damian was a man he didn't know with a knife. Though he hadn't expected it his response was quick, and well trained as he moves forward towards the man in a blur of motion. His goal was to use snake strikes to disable the arm holding the knife, and if needed defend with his gauntlets. Whoever it is was shorter, but had no fear moving in very close and personal as instinct told him it was better to attack then defend. He would ask questions after he delt with the person holding the knife

Of course now he is in the hall with Clint he would be visable as Clint is though wearing black specifics might be harder to point out. The fact that he is trying to disable Clint could also be seen, though he hasn't seen them yet, and didn't know specificly where they were at.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
"Hey, I know words," Clint protests. "Some of them even have more than one syllable."

As to the straw questions. "They're good ones, though don't let Darcy see or she'll get you ones that look like dicks."

Heading to the basement door, Clint glances back to grin at Skye, "We held onto that?" he asks. "Man the neighbours are going to be pissed when our place lights up and they're still in the-"

He turns his head forward.

"-What the hell?!" Clint spots the bat figure with the glowing red eyes, and leaps back in a roll, clearing out of May's line of sight.

"Intruder. Light him up."

Clint would have done the honours with a thrown knife but it was his only weapon at the moment, so he clings tight and let's May do the shooting.

Quake has posed:
"I'm so lucky. I found me a two-syllable guy. Now he can call me Day-zee." Skye laughs, and lifts her hand, tweaking her fingers to form the outline of ~I love you~ - which fell within the parameters of finger exercises.

"Damn skippy we kept the generator," Skye tells Clint. "Do you know how cool that is? Being able to have access to the net through an outage?" May hadn't even argued.

Not that May can see it, but Skye frowns deeply as the ICER is pulled and the light jesting is made that tweaks this might not be just an ordinary blackout. The young woman adjusts her hearing to pick up anything untoward even as Clint's 'what the hell!' is given. Totally making her super hearing unecessary as teh figure in black is noted. And, despite warnings, or the fact that there are two other trained agents *right in the room with her* Skye is already instinctually lifting her hands, palms out, to prepare a blast agaisnt the darkened figure.

Yeah, that's going to hurt if she gets it off.

Melinda May has posed:
Clint's exclamation has her immediately side-stepping to put herself between Skye and whomever is in the hallway, her ICER already raised and ready to fire. And then he's tumbled clear and declared an intruder. She doesn't wait to see more details about the person, firing off a dendrotoxin round the moment she sees their silhouette.

In face, the same moment she realizes said silhouette is smaller than she'd expect for some assassin-like thug, and has far too few limbs. Why does that seem familiar?

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
As Damian moves forward the other one yells for the others to fire. He doesn't like the sound of that, so the small Bat does something that might be a bit unexpected breaking his movement. He jumps back fliping over he lands on his hands using them to push his body sidways other then back to flip and turn his way back around the corner he came. He doesn't know about Skye's blast, but staying out in the open when they are talking about gunfire was a bad move even if he was here to talk.
Just as quick as he entered he breaks line of sight just getting out of the way just before Skye can fully aim her hands at him to save her from having to blast as whoever it is they are as fast and if the wirey assassin would of moved forward not back she would of had him. She can hear him he wasn't even breathing hard just a calm practiced breath behind the wall as he hasn't ran away just broke line of sight. After just a moment of silence a pair of gloved hands pop out from the wall, and while he is still behind it they seem to be empty palms towards them.

A voice comes out that May would reconize, "If I had wanted to kill you I would of waited till you were alone, and I don't even know who those two are." then silence for a moment followed by a "Don't shoot.. this is silly I am coming out." the voice sounds calm and speaks with a certainty as from behind the wall the Bat-Assassin steps out again.

He is in the open, and with her hands already ready there was little chance of him getting out of the way quick enough this time. He thinks to himself maybe he should of used the gas, calm them down a little first.. No.. As he he stood out in the open looking them waiting for them to either shoot him or not.. Drugged Agents would of prob been worse to deal with, and sighs to himself.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
"Are you going by that now?" Clint asks about the Daisy crack, but not before signing back ~I love you~

"Awesome," he says about the generator situation.

Then, bat-kid, acrobatics et al.

When Damian comes out Clint rises from his crouch making sure he's not stepping into anyone's line of fire. "We know this guy?" he asks though by the get up he has some guesses who he might be.

Quake has posed:
"Ha ha ha. No." Skye tells Clint. She'd long ago left Daisy behind, and other than her father (and possibly Tony if he ever ran out of flower names) she went by Skye. Her mother.. well, the verdict was still out there. Skye would wait until she met her to determine that one.

When May steps between her and being able to do damage, Skye is all "What the -- How am I supposed to?" Which was entirely the point. Only it's not only the point, butr unecessary as the small attacker leaps this way and that, goes behind the wall, and calls out to them. Skye didn't even have to tell anyone where he was - he outed himself. And, it seemed, he knew May.

"So.. I know we have an open door policy here, but someone want to explain to our guest that we don't take the lights out in lieu of knocking on the door, or just coming on in. Does he even know how many spies and assassins hang out here? Dude, do you have a death wish?"

Melinda May has posed:
May does indeed get one round off at the intruder, but he's quick and agile and out of the way before she can fire a second one. And then he's identifying himself and that has her lowering her weapon promptly. "Yes, I know him. Barton, please go check on the generator. And I have to agree with Skye. Knocking might have been a better option."

She even goes so far as to put her ICER away. Heck, maybe this kid will finally introduce himself. She's pretty sure it'll be Bat-something, but at least she'll have an official name to put with this voice.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian look at Clint and doesn't answer his question as Damian did not know him so stood quietly listening to the others talk. He just watched them quietly, quietly happy with himself that he did not fall bait to such a leading question that Skye asked. He does look at her, the red eye stare as he quietly looks at her, "Others can not know I am here." he states calmly as if they answered everything.

He takes a step forawrd slowly to check to make sure no-one is going to panic shoot him though it looks like she was holding her hands wierd she didn't have a gun.

He is quiet for a moment thinking where to start, calmly thinking it over, "People call me Robin it will do here as well as any name. I have come from Gotham, as my investigation has lead me to a possible Shield involvement." he looks at the people here, quietly before he continues. "You seemed like a resonable person, but we do not work with Shield other then the prearranged contact. I thought you deserved to know."

He will move to give Clint room to get to where he is going though watches him closely. He didn't trust the knife wielding person too close to him though would not make the first move. While this is true the intent stare just waiting for him to do it is there the whole time he walks by though Damian does not say a word.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Clint smiles at her response, he doesn't poke further about that name, after all that's how they got off on a bad foot to begin with when they met.

After the intruder is revealed as Robin, Clint snorts and puts the knife away. "Wow, May, I thought you usually had to go see these guys not the other way around," he asks as he makes his way to the basement stairs before he pauses.

"Guessing power thing isn't a coincidence, right?"" he asks Robin. "You want to turn things back on?"

Though even if he does, Clint is so hooking up that generator later!

Quake has posed:
Skye lowers her hands when it's more than clear May knows the man (boy?), and they're not about to break into an altercation. In truth, she's glad, because while her arms have healed, and she's totally of the opinion that she could too type, thank-you very much Jemma, she's also aware that just beginning to gather her powers had left echoes of the damage she'd so recently done to them hurting up her forearms. She had a good idea she'd have shattered them if she'd had to defend herself or May or Clint. She would have, but damn it would have hurt.

This was ever so much simpler.

"So, you weren't invited? Wait, you have dealings with SHIELD, you know May, or of her, and you just thought you'd drop in unannounced at /our/ house? How does this eve - you know, what, forget I asked."

Melinda May has posed:
"There are other ways to announce your arrival that won't broadcast it to the area at large. For someone who is alert to such things, the blackout itself it a clue that something is happening." She's not scolding the kid overmuch, though. She gets the impression that he knows far more about this kind of life than someone about the age she guesses he is should.

The name is acknowledged with a nod and she asides to Clint, "I usually do." Her attention remains on Robin, though. "I suspect your reason to be here is dire enough to venture so far from your regular jurisdiction."

And then Skye's getting indignant so she offers a plausible bit of reasoning for the young man to have showed up here. "He likely followed me here."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
The boy gives Clint a nod, seeming a bit surprised he put it together so fast. The way he acted at first perhaps this person was smarter then they appear. He pulls him arm sideways infront of him, and starts typing on the inside of his arm, it isn't too much longer before the 'humm' of power is back on as he turns off the device though he does add in response, "Again.. I am not here.". Standing is most certainly a kid to this group, he couldn't be out of his teens though the babyface that shown under the mask might make it seem a bit younger.

In the light they can see the padding, the gear, and the tech that must be in the suit itself as he watches them though a bit less intimidating with the lights on again.

He turns to look at Skye, work it out the look on his face is more confused then anythingas if this is normal operating procedure for him to just show up in someones house. "The other options avaliable would not of been as pleasent so this seemed the best way." he does add leaving what those may of been a mystery.

Finally he looks to May, "There is a killer that is using a form that is only tought by a few people. They also know how to disable electronics without a trace so have the skills of a trained spy." he reaches inside of his gauntlet to pull out a small usb device. "I have loaded all the information we have on what their size, time and dates, and the style as well as the teacher that went to Shield to teach it though I have removed any private information about the people on our side involved." he looks at the two not sure who might have it, "I thought it best to let you look internally as you know your own people best." he pauses a moment to let that sink in as he moves forward again to put the usb down for them. "I personally do not believe that your people did it, but the mistakes they made were not one someone from Gotham would do. Every avenue must be checked." he states this calmly not accusing, but explaining why he was there, and what he believed the evidence he got ment.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
"Neat trick," Clint says dryly as the power comes back on. He swings the basement door closed and goes to stand by Skye now that the danger has seemingly passed and light has been returned to the house. "Though want to know another trick that would have got you in here unseen."

He knocks on the wall. "Hello, pizza delivery. Plus, you'd be bringing us pizza which always is a good opener with us." a look to May. "Well, some of us anyhow."

That said he moves to stand next to Skye while he listens to Robin's report. "So, you're saying this killer learned his fighting style from SHIELD?" he asks when he hears the report. When the USB is revealed, Clint looks to Skye, a silent offer to be her hands and collect it.

Quake has posed:
Wonderful timing. A whole case with data just aching to be poked at.. and she's allowed finger exercises. She *might* be able to eke out two finger typing, which would be tedious and painfully slow, but overall this just sucked.

She still holds her hand out for the USB stick though.

"Has anyone on your team looked at this data?" It might seem an obvious question, but before she goes poking at her sources it really would help to eliminate her first one if that avenue has been exhausted. Not that it was known precisely who Skye's contact was. That was the singular holdback May hadn't gotten from the young Agent.

"Our guys don't tend to go rogue like that. Especially not as a frame job. And we're generally not that careless either."

She agrees with Clint and May though. "Yeah. If you weren't here to attack us, that was not the way to go about it. We have people who visit here who would knife you before they stopped to take a second breath after that power went out. Not cool, dude. Times and places. Also, pizza... Uh, speaking of pizza, we have burgers?"

Yeah, she feels a tiny bit stupid offering, but hey, he might want one? Maybe? This really wasn't their everyday ordinary crisis going on here. Nobody was bleeding or kidnapped.

Melinda May has posed:
May lets Clint and Skye look at the information first. That is kind of Skye's specialty. Looking at information on a computer. "Perhaps if you want to contact me in the future, a message in advance would be useful. That way I know to expect your arrival regardless of where I am." This is not something she'd offer just anyone. "I can share a contact phone number with you. I can be reached there at any time."

Skye offers the kid a burger, and she doesn't even think about contradicting her. This is Skye's home after all, not May's.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian looks over at Clint confused again, "You mean you do not use facial reconition on your pizza delivery driver?" he pauses for a moment to think about that.. "Humph.. intresting." though that is all he gives. Damian was paranoid with a capital P, if anyone approached the house he would run checks on them. He thought it was normal, as all the places he usually has to sneak in are way higher security they always seem to do something simmular. After a moment pause to think about the options that would give he adds to Clint, "No, at least I don't believe so in a trackable way. There are only two people that train the form in any suitable way, one is Shiva though she has gone to hiding. The other is Dragon which from what I have seen was invited to Shield for martial training." he nods to the USB, "I am following his trail as he trained a great amount of people I have already looked into that were not realated to your orginiation."

He eyes the interaction between the two agents, but says nothing as he gently puts the usb into her hand. "Yes, as well as someone from the Justice League" of course he was speaking of Question though he could of ment Bats himself. He doesn't respond to her worry about the other people that come here nor does he seem worry about being stabbed he just looks at her with that calm face of listening quietly to her. When she offers food he shakes his head, he was hungry, but Bat's he was not a normal person right now he was Robin, "No... Thank you." being polite for the first time as Alfred had at least driven some maners into him.

Robin looks at May, "This should not be a common occurance, as I said we don't work with Shield." he rubs the brim of his nose over the cowl, and sighs. "Look, I know we wouldn't appreciate you investigating us, so before we got to a point where we may have to investigate you here I am." he shrugs, "Sure you shot at me, and she pointer her hands at me.. whatever that does. Ya missed it is fine see." He moves a little to show he isn't hit though shows a small hole through the half cape he has from May's shot, "I am shot at, stabbed, attacked with acid or guns that shoot liquid ice every single day.. it happends." he adds trying to put away the worry they have about him. This was actually normal life for him even having to deal with mutants, and vampires every once in a while. He holds up a hand in surrender, and pulls out a T-Phone which are issued to every Teen Titan, not trusting it to the phone he uses for Bat stuff as he knew Tim, Oracle, or his father would find out if he put it on there. He sets it up for a new number, and tosses it to May, "Will you look into it? That is the important part. We don't need conflict, and if you are ready on your side with the information there should be none." he mainly ment the conflict of Batman finding out it may of been Shield and looking into it himself. He wasn't sure what that would mean, but it would be trouble so Damian is moving to stop it before it even becomes an issue.

Quake has posed:
"Uh, yeah, we'd pay attention to a strange delivery person, but we'd also know not to treat you like they were trying to kill us. Not sure how much dealing you've had with spies, Robin? But we're a twitchy lot. Some of us more than others." Not that his life sounded like a walk through the park the way he described it. Then again, that could also be youthful colouring speaking.

Skye can only look to May over the names of the teachers mentioned, though it does occur to her that it sounded a lot less than someone trained by sHIELD as.. "So, are you actually looking for someone we trained, or was that a nice excuse to have us look at the data and help you track down others this Dragon has taught?"

She's not ruling out this Shiva person either, but since Robin only mentioned Dragon, so is she. She files away the other names, as well as making a mental note to check in with Oracle and see what she might have to say 0on the matter. Toss the crumbs into the Birds laps and see if they've heard anything.

As for her hands. "Oh? Me? I was surrendering," Skye lies with a smirk. After all, she's got what look to be specialized restraints on her arms. Whatever else could she have been intending?

Melinda May has posed:
May accepts the phone from Damian and starts quickly entering her contact information. It's the non-SHIELD burner phone she keeps for this exact sort of thing. The phone is offered back quickly enough.

"Thank you for giving us a chance to check our own house for this. I will be sure to update you with what we find." She doesn't say that she also believes it's no one in SHIELD because at the moment, she doesn't believe that. Suspect until proven innocent since people have died. "If you also learn anything more, let me know. We'll that information to our search algorithm."

She glances at Skye at that, knowing the younger agent will be digging into this by the time she's done eating her burger.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian looks at Skye, "I only know that this form was used, and that Dragon trained people, and that included Shield. If someone had learned from him they could do what needs to be done. Not that they trained someone else to do it." he explains slowly. He nods to May in thanks taking back the phone from her. He doesn't reply to Skye surrendering he knew better, and he lieing about it just made him wonder more about it though he would say nothing more on the topic as it wasn't his buisness. He would let her keep he secrets as they all had some.

He looks over at May, "They will move again, as you will see this is not the kind of thing one does once." though it had been a while since the incident he knew something else would follow eventually it was too personal not to. He turns, and starts walking away the way he came in before he stops, "I or in this case we do not need your help." answering Skye, "I will find him eventually.. Untill then." he drops a metal ball. "Sorry bout this." with that a large flashbang goes off behind him. As it does he moves out of the house quickly hoping over any couch to the door then out.

He hated having to do that as it was just a pain, but he needed them a bit disorganized to give him time to get outside to the wire. Once on that he would be lifted up into the sky, and away with nothing but a Bat-Dragon screech in the sky as he went to return to Gotham his job done for now.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
The flashbang has Clint flinching away from the explosion. By the time his eyes clear, Robin is gone.

"Okay," he says to Skye still squinting. "New house rule, no more Bat folks. At least until they learn to come and go like regular people."

"Agreed?" he asks.

Quake has posed:
"They don't, all," Skye says quietly. Then more loudly, "I need a way to use my gear even when I'm injured. I get it, I hurt myself, I'm being punished, but I think.."

She gives May a wry look, "It got away from me. I was angry and hurt and it got away from me. I never meant to hurt anyone but him. Next time.. next time I'm clear about what I plan to do."

Melinda May has posed:
May also flinches away from the flashbang, and she can only agree with what the other two say about Bats in the house. With that in mind, she makes a mental note to send the very next time he texts:

"No more flashbangs in the house."

At Skye's complaint about still needing to work while injured, May has an idea, but she's not going to mention it aloud, not until it can be confirmed and approved. And for that, she'll need to make a trip to visit the Avengers.

Tony Stark in particular.
