Date of Scene: 28 July 2019
Location: Atlantis Embassy
Synopsis: Star Sapphire meets Mera and Aquaman to ask about the Justice League.
Cast of Characters: Aquaman, Star Sapphire, Aquawoman

Aquaman has posed:
At the appointed time that evening, a human employee of the Atlantis Embassy is at the Oyster Bay embassy dock to meet Star Sapphire. She is greeted politely by the young man, who is impeccably dressed in a blue Atlantean cut suit. Star Sapphire is led aboard an Embassey vessel, clearly of Atlantean design, which takes her across the choppy waters of Oyster Bay to the Embassy without a pitch or roll. On arrival, Star Sapphire's escort leads her into the main entrance of the Embassy, telling her politely about the architecture and symbolism since it is her first visit. She is led up a water lift to the second floor and into a meeting room. There is a low table, some soft chairs and a nice view of the water. Star Sapphire is offered refreshments, served and left to wait for the King.

Fifteen minutes later, the man who met Star Sapphire returns, preceding the Atlantean King. Arthur arrives dressed in a deep, deep green chased in gold.

"..he should not get to sit with Superman, no matter how much he complains. The last thing I need is my father telling that man stories," Arthur says to the beautiful Xebelian princess on his arm. He takes in Star Sapphire at a glance.

"His Majesty King Orin II of Atlantis and her highness Princess Y'Mera Xebella Challa of Xebel," the escort announces, bows and leaves.

"Welcome," Arthur greets his guest. "You found your way without any trouble, I see."

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire chatted with the envoy. She is not glowing - at all. She doesn't want any hint of ill effect. She maintains her mask and her ring is firmly on her left hand. She is just acting like a normal person. She sits down, taking some of the refreshments and samples one of the sushi rolls.

Upon arrival of the royal couple, she rises and bows. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Star Sapphire, head of the Star Sapphire Corps, princess of Zamaron. It is a pleasure to meet both of you." She doesn't say her 'real' name. "I am happy that you chose to meet me, and am impressed with your hospitality and your embassy. You honor me."

Aquawoman has posed:
Mera, holding delicately to Arthur's arm, is pristinely dressed in an iridescent formal bodysuit, in fluid hues of blue and green. The gold chevron at her waist echoes the shape of her golden tiara. She looks over the masked woman awaiting their arrival. She arches a brow at the introduction, and tilts her head slightly.

"Head of the Star Saphhire Corps," she repeats thoughtfully. How many strong is your corps? Please forgive my ignorance of your station. How many strong is your corps? And do they all use codenames and hide their identities?" Her tone seems genuinely curious. "Many have sought audience here, but never one of your ilk."

Aquaman has posed:
"True, you are the first Lantern of any sort to visit us here. Except for one, but he doesn't he count," Arthur says with a bit of a grin. "Please sit."

Arthur leads Mera to a chair and takes one himself. He is curious and listens attentively to Star Sapphire's reply to Mera.

"What brings you to my domain?" Arthur asks gamely with a polite smile. "I was surprised to see you on my agenda."

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire sits down, smiling softly. "The Corps has about three hundred personnel, spread across the galaxy. You can think of it as a parallel to the Green Lantern Corps. But our motives are a bit different. The Greens are fueled by willpower, and their masters, the Guardians of Oa, have fashioned them into a galactic police force of sorts. My corps is fueled by love - we are thinly spread, seeking to right wrongs in the galaxy. I was personally selected to become the heir of Zamaron, the Star Sapphire homeworld" She gazes at the two of you, her eyes glowing violet for a moment. "And I can sense that your relationship is strong. It is always a pleasure to be in the presence of such pure love."

She takes a serious breath, focusing back on Arthur. "I come neither as a royal delegate nor as the head of my Corps. I am seeking... redemption." She sighs a she lowers her gaze. "My history with Zamaron is... complicated. Originally, they implanted me with a gem that overwhelmed me - made me their puppet - and I was compelled into... distasteful things against my will. Love can be beautiful and inspiring... but it can also be lethal or twisted. When Zamaron decided to make the Corps - they chose me to be its head for... I was the best at using the violet light." She then slowly takes the mask off, and looks back up. Her face is probably familiar to anyone who deals with the high society. "It was rude to not give my name at first. I am so accustomed to keeping my two lives separate. I am Carol Ferris, CEO of Ferris Air. And I wish to join the Justice League. I can do much to help them." She then murmurs, "And I know that it's Superman who is the head. But meeting with the other members would be wise as well."

Aquawoman has posed:
Mera takes in the visitor's replies, furrowing her brow at the possibility that the woman had so easily been turned into a puppet. "And this gem that was used to control you has now been removed?" she asks. "What were the sins by which you were judged, that you should now seek redemption?"

Aquaman has posed:
Star Sapphire's revelation of her identity seems to mean little to Arthur, but surface high society was not something that interested him or occupied his time aside from the official duties diplomacy required. Arthur sits back with a frown and listens to Star Sapphire's reply to Mera. He considers it for a moment.

"And you already have duties. To your planet and your corps. Do they know you are here asking to join the Justice League?" Arthur asks and watches Star Sapphire carefully for her answer. "The Justice League is not a club you apply to or you ask to join. You demonstrate your worth, day by day, and in time if you have what it takes and can be trusted, the Justice League asks you. I do not speak for Superman, but it seems to me while your heart is in the right place, you have a great deal to work out before you would be considered."

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire nods. "I know," she states softly, fiddling with the mask. "My queen is aware of the fact that I have obligations to this world. She is content with having me stay to serve Sector 2814." She then holds a hand up. "Oh right - the Guardians of Oa separated the galaxy into sectors - ours is called 2814. It's arbitrary - just like New YOrk City being 40 degrees north, 74 degrees west. Just a number scheme."

She turns to Mera. "The full might of the Star Sapphire Gem was deemed too overwhelming for any one person. It was fractured. Divided to... spread the love, so tp speak." She holds her hand up, the ring with the eight-point star visible. A sliver is in my ring - a shard is in my lantern that I use to charge it." She then looks back to Aquaman. "I seek... to know what should be done to be deemed worthy. I didn't mean to do the things mentioned in the past. Just ask the Green Lantern - he can tell what I did." She creates a construct image of Hal in costume to be clear. "To be clear - I mean this one - like us, they all use 'Green Lantern' as a codename. I know I ask a lot. But I can offer a lot. My powers are essentially the same as a Green's - with few differences. We both use the Emotional Spectrum."

Aquawoman has posed:
Having no voice in any decision regarding the Justice League of America, Mera simply nods to the avoidance of her question. "I'm certain I will have no such opportunity to approach another individual to seek an account of your failures. Therefore, I shall not keep you further with my questions. I'm certain you are a busy woman, with your duties to your planet, your corps, and your..." She gestures airily. "Airplane company." She nods to Arthur, conceding further conversation to the King, and she sits back in her chair, her legs crossed on a diagonal slant, and her hands resting, folded, upon one knee. Her attention is now focused solely upon her King.

Aquaman has posed:
Arthur nods to Mera and turns his attention back to Star Sapphire. "There is no test to put in front of you. If you want to find out whether you are worthy, go and find out and forget the Justice League. If you are the right person, you will be doing what needs to be done whether we notice or not."

Arthur rises signalling an end to the audience and offers an arm to Mera.

"Thank you for your visit, Star Sapphire. May Poseidon's blessings go with you," he intones formally with a bit of a smile. He nods to Star Sapphire and makes his way from the room with Mera.

Star Sapphire's escort returns immediately to lead her back through the embassy to the vessel bound for shore.

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire nods as she rises with the royals. "May the light of Zamaron shine upon you and your true love, Your Majesty," she states, bowing, as she awaits their departure. She then nods, and follows the escort out of the room.
