Synopsis: Wanda brings some things for the charity auction, and discusses how else she might contribute with Bruce and Damian
Cast of Characters: Scarlet Witch, Batman, Robin (Wayne)

Scarlet Witch has posed:
The Avengers are often involved with charitable causes. Wanda Maximoff tends to get involved with literacy charities and those benefiting children, but when she heard of the Wayne Foundation event, she decided she should do something to help out.

A few calls to teammates and acquaintances had allowed her to gather together a few items for the auction. Though Wanda always felt such things to be impersonal. Even if she tended to view the kind of gala balls that accompany such events the way others view a trip to the dentist, she still tried to give of her own personal time.

Though in this case she had found herself quite unsure how to best do that. A conversation with someone familiar with Bruce personally suggested Wanda drop off the items and see if the eccentric billionaire had any ideas for how she could contribute. And so calls were made, Bruce's people talking to Wanda's people (which consisted solely of JARVIS), and a meeting was ordained.

Wanda arrives at the manor, driving a car from the Avenger's fleet. Nothing too ostentatious, just a nice sedan. She pulls up to the manor house once admitted, and goes up to the door to ring the bell, the boxes containing the items she brought left in the car for now.

Batman has posed:
Inside the Manor's library, Bruce has a cellphone clutched between his ear and shoulder while he reads over a white binder with black kanji characters embossed on the cover. He trails a finger over one of the pages, looking down at the writing with a furrowed brow.

"Wagyu," he says down the phone line, "No, no - Takasahi-san, uh, kobe ... kobe ... hm ... ka. Kakaku ga ... taka ... um ... taka sugiru. Kakaku ga taka sugiru. Wagyu dake kudasai. Arigato."

He lets the phone drop from his shoulder into his hand. The Japanese is faltering and mispronounced. He may speak it fluently, but the public persona of Bruce Wayne doesn't. As he'd tell it, he just learned words enough to order dinner. He glances up towards Wanda as she enters the room, a tight smile on his lips.

"You're Ms. Maximoff? Welcome, welcome. Sorry about the mess."

He gestures to what look like all manner of binders open to various pages and scattered throughout the library. Plans for the charity auction and dinner.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian had been keeping to himself mostly. Though he had been studying a philosophy book in the library while listening to his father's conversation. "To-San, moshi anata ga saiko no kakaku o nozomunara, anata wa kosho shinakereba narimasen." Like Father, like son, it seemed.

Every Wayne boy had something to contribute to the charity event. Damian, even being the youngest, was not excused from it. As Wanda made her foray into Wayne Manor, he stood up and closed the book. "Hello." He offered, the public face of Damian Wayne was much different than that of his brothers. He was mostly quiet and he made it known that he quite liked to help out animal shelters around Gotham. He didn't galavant out in ostentatious things, other than dressing like a gentleman, and today was no exception. He wore a green dress shirt, black vest, black slacks and of course, red converse sneakers.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff gives Alfred a grateful smile as he shows her into the library and says he will see to unloading the items from the car. "Thank you," she tells him as she turns back towards the father and son within the stately manor's library. "So you are Mr. Wayne. Yes, I am, please call me Wanda. It is a pleasure to meet you," Wanda tells him as she walks over to offer him her hand. She's wearing a black skirt and boots, with a white blouse and a yellow vest over it, leaving nothing to reveal she is the Scarlet Witch except her face.

"Hello," Wanda says, offering a warm greeting towards Damian. "I apologize for interrupting when you have so much to do," Wanda says in her English that carries only the softest of Eastern European accents still. "I brought by the items I'd mentioned in my call. Though I was also interested in trying to contribute in a more personal fashion." Wanda speaks in a slow, measured pace, as if giving each word its own time before moving on to the next. "I admit, I have so far failed to think of something appropriate for the event, though," she says.

Batman has posed:
"Very nice to meet you, Wanda - and any little thing helps," Bruce assures the Avenger, "I appreciate your interest in donating, though. The Wayne Foundation has been organizing these sorts of charity fundraisers for years. I can assure you that whatever money you help to raise? It's going to a worthy cause."

He quirks a brow at Damian's Japanese but says nothing. Maintaining the ruse of ignorance, as is appropriate when facing the wider world as Bruce Wayne.

"Your interruptions worth interrupting with," the side of his mouth quirks up into a half-smile, "We're just arranging dinner for after the auction. Do you prefer wagyu or kobe beef, Wanda?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"I've never noticed much difference in the two. Both are exquisite." Damian adds in, though of course no one asked him.

The youngest Wayne sat back down and looked over a planning binder. "Donating an experience with you for the cause? Could be interesting. Though really, the opportunity to do something with an Avenger could be a big seller regardless of the actual event being done."

The young Wayne looks over his father's shoulder to what he'd been working on. Playing the part of the interested kid.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda smiles softly to the two Wayne men. "I do not think I have ever developed a preference, they are both quite amazing," Wanda agrees, smiling over towards Damian. "Though I don't wish to interrupt your meal," she tells them.

Damian's comment about doing something with an Avengers draws a motion of Wanda's hand as if he's touched on her thoughts. "I have been trying to decide what might appeal the most. I've waffled on everything from a flight in a quinjet, to a palm reading," says the Scarlet Witch. "Ok, the latter I quickly discarded. But I hadn't been able to decide on what to go with. Dinner in Italy? Or a training room simulation?" Wanda suggests. "I have not been a part of such an auction before. What types of things typically bring the largest donations?"

Batman has posed:
"It's just food for the auction," Bruce says with a wave of his hand, snapping the binder closed with a clap and handing it off to Damian to take a look, "Trying to settle on the main course first, and then on to the starters."

"If you're mulling over ideas," he continues, "I would suggest something unique to you or to the Avengers. The people bidding here are wealthy - ridiculously so. Think less about value in terms of dollars and cents, and more in terms of opportunity. Theese people don't want something money can buy ... if that makes sense?"

He looks thoughtful for a moment, stroking his chin before venturing, "One such experience on the block is a date with Diana of Themyscira. Wonder Woman. Now, that's not something any amount of money can buy usually. So think in those terms. What can you - or the Avengers - offer that someone with a bottomless bank account couldn't acquire even if they drained the whole thing?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian opens the binder again, looking things over. "Exactly. You don't need to give out a date, but something that's a once in a lifetime type thing. Something almost no one else will get to do."

Damian keeps his eyes towards the binder, moving to the others only when they speak.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
The mention of Diana brings a pleased smile to Wanda's face. "I had not realized she was going to be a part of it. We are working together on a... weather thing. Preventing the worst damage of hurricanes in under developed areas," Wanda says.

The suggestions do make the Eastern European woman look thoughtful. A hand moves to her chin, a finger rubbing along her jaw as she thinks for a moment. "I wonder if getting to experience astral projection of their spirit self would be appealing. Some might be too afraid to want to experience it, but not the sort of thing one can usually buy," Wanda says in her typical, slow delivery. She looks to the two Wayne men to see what they think.

Batman has posed:
"Well, that's the whole thing," Bruce explains, "It doesn't need to be something /anyone/ would buy, less than it has to be something that /someone/ would buy. I guarantee there will be people there with enough money who have experienced enough highs in their life that they'd be more than happy to experience higher, more mystic plateaus. Not me, of course, but I'm not quite the daredevil the press make out."

That said, he moves to look at the other things Wanda brought, "What else is there? I know Howard must've talked with you about it over the phone but I haven't spoken to him yet ... nor read his dozen e-mails on the subject."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian nods at Bruce's comment. It was true. It didn't need to be broadly acceptable. it just needed to appeal to someone who'd want it enough.

Of course, he was intrigued by the other things that Wanda brought with her, and decided to help move those things into the library. Where was Alfred anyway?

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda opens up the boxes where each item has been carefully packed, with fragile items receiving extra care. There are items with ties to well known Avengers actions, plus other items of a rare nature from her team or even just from others who Wanda has worked on charitable events with before.

"Oh, you might enjoy these," Wanda, says as she opens one the boxes. Her fingers move slowly in a very deliberate way, and a faint aura of red energy gathers about her fingers.

A Russian nesting doll lifts out of the box, surrounded by the same red energy. It floats there in the air, opening itself up to reveal the doll inside. That oval doll seems to jump out to float alongside the first as it also opens. One after another after another, the dolls open, each barely smaller than the last. There are a tremendous number, so it is a good thing Wanda seems able to open then faster than one could do it by hand. By the time she is done, they make a line in the air, held by the red energy, with the last so tiny one would need a magnifying glass to make out the features on it. "I understand this is the deepest nesting doll every made in terms of how many it contains,' she says.

Batman has posed:
"Oh, that is impressive," Bruce tucks his hands into his pockets, taking a few steps forward to peer in close at the very end of the line to try and make out the smallest ones, "Where'd you get this from?"

He turns his head slightly to Damian, gesturing for him to come over, "Come and take a look at the dolls, Damian. Wow, how do you think they even did that?"

He then turns back to the boxes, tilting his head to take another look before his attention returns to Wanda: "Thank you for bringing everything by, Wanda. And I do hope you and the Avengers will accept my invitation to the dinner. No per-plate fee for you, of course - I think your being there will be a drawcard enough to make up for it."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian just watches as all of the nesting dolls are opened, amazed at how many there were. "Very very small knives, Father." Damian responds, with a smirk. "Yes, thank you very much. The Foundation will really flourish with these donations." He comments, giving a small smile to the Scarlet Witch.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
The dolls reassemble into one rapidly enough and then the completed set moves back into the protective case before Wanda's hands lose that scarlet glow. "A wealthy friend's donation, the information is included," she says.

Wanda smiles and says, "I will look forward to being there. I do not know how many of the team can make it, but hopefully several will. I'll have JARVIS get in touch with your people with a headcount," she says.

Wanda glances about at all the planning going on. "Well, I should get out of your way then. I look forward to seeing you both there," she says. Damian is given a friendly smile by the woman. "Very nice to meet you, Damian Wayne," she tells him before turning her soft smile to Bruce. "Thank you, Mr. Wayne. Please be well," she'll say before departing.

Batman has posed:
"We'll make sure to reserve a table for you," Bruce answers, a faint smile on his lips, "In fact, if you can get back to us within the next week or so, we might be able to sell a few seats at your table for triple the price. I know more than a few people in my circles who would pay handsomely to get to bend the ear of an Avenger all night."

Whether or not he's joking, he leaves that to Wanda to guess. Damian's comments about very small knives prompts a laugh from him - he's always been good at masking the sullen and withdrawn aspects of his personality, but it seems to have become a lot easier in recent months.

"It was nice of you to stop by, Wanda," Bruce says, showing her to the door, "Howard should get in touch with you to iron out any details. If yourself and the other Avengers do decide to come, I can assure you that you'll be the guests of honor."
