Enjoying the View

Synopsis:	Samantha is moping in low earth orbit. Carol (aka Star Sapphire) stops on her way back to earth to talk to her. She confirms Sam's worst fears.

Nyx has posed:
Honestly it is beautiful way up here staring down at the Planet Earth. Pictures don't really do the blue mud ball much justice, especially at night when it is lit up with blankets of lights like a Christmas Tree.

Samantha floats there in low earth Orbit, out of the way of most Satellites and stars moodily down at it. At once awe inspired by that beauty, but also morose for some reason just by being up here.

Beautiful wings of energy sprout from her back, almost angelic, if they weren't some form of magnetically contained particle beam energy. Adding to the oddity is the SHIELD jacket and tactical uniform she wears, along with the fact she looks to be a teenager. Lot going on here.

She likely stands out to any advanced technology, government satellites, watch towers, or advanced power rings with onboard advanced A.I.s and the like.

Despite all the heroes on earth this is still an unusual sight.

Star Sapphire has posed:
A flare of violet light comes from space as a person glowing that shade of violet appears out of nowhere and is heading right towards the planet - and slows down. Upon closer view, it appears to be a human woman glowing violet, wearing a uniform made primarily of violet and black with a large eight-point star over the chest, with a tiara-like maskm over her face. She raises an eyebrow as she looks at you. "Normally I don't see anyone up here..." she muses softly. "But a very interesting being we have here, don't we?"

The approach doesn't go unnoticed, the teenager pivots, one wing dipping thematically as she turns and then floats watching Carol approach.

Your ring makes speech possible up here, it isn't like there is a ton of normal breathing people and all that.

There is a bit of a smile, though still there is lingering sadness in her emotions. "I imagine Superman.. I would be surprised if Batman didn't have a spaceship... also I think we have a couple.. and alpha flight..." she trails off though looking Carol over.

"Violet Lantern Corps... We didn't think they assigned people to sectors like the Green ones, what brings you to 2814?"

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire shrugs. "I live here. I'm human. I was just discussing a matter of royal protocol with my queen." She shrugs. "Being a princess is hard work." She smiles faintly. "There aren't as many of us as there is with the Greens - but I live here, so here I stay. I got myself this sector." She sighs softly. "I'm trying to identify your tech. It's... very unusual."

It is indeed very unsual, there is a lot going on there.

The particle beam technology in those wings is much too advanced for humanity, that is capital space ship level technology.

The rings scans would show the young woman's body has been replaced, if she was ever human, with a whole lot of techno-organic and super dense materials probably allowing for serious durability.

Power source is shielded, though the energy signature to power those wings has to be off the charts.

Very. Very mysterious.

"uh.. well thanks I think... I'm personally thinking that while flying is awesome and .. evidently not breathing is a thing.. that I probaly never should have touched this technology..."

Star Sapphire nods. "That's undrestandable. I know how you feel. I didn't start as a willign bearer of this ring. I was forcibly implanted with the Star Sapphire gem, and was a puppet of the Zamarons. Only when they understood hat I was basically a lovesturck berserker did they realize it just wans't working - and now I bear a shard of that gem in my ring - of course, I'm one of the best at the violet light due to that..." She then murmurs, "You got in contact with sme alien tech and it's changing you? You barely read as human any more."

Nyx has posed:
Samantha seems to be following along there when you explain the bits about your origin and how you got entangled with the Violet Lantern Corp. "That sounds like it sucked. Right, the power of love. If they are all about love why would they force anyone?"

Then you say she barely reads as human and the teenager visibly winces. "Yeah.. I.. guess I know that." she looks back towards Earth. "Fuck."

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire nods. "It seems that your nanites are changing your genetics into something... similar but much more... high-tech. Some kind of techno-organics. A Green would probably be able to get a better read- their database is bigger for their troll masters are more outgoing." She shrugs. "Love covers a wide range of emotions. And it can sometimes be a devastatnig force."

Nyx has posed:
She just mopes staring at the planet. "Yeah well .. I've been lab ratted a whole lot over the past many months and I'm kind of sick of it to be honest. This beats being a fry cook but it is a whole lot to digest."

"So Love ... I guess love can be devastating. I know crushes I had in high school felt like they would drown me."

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire nods slowly. "Yes. Just ask someone between a mama bear and her cub." She grins widely, creating such constructs between you to demonstrate for a moment. "So... I was going to head down. You going to stay up here a bit? I can keep a drone nearby in case you need help."

Nyx has posed:
"I don't think I need help.... evidently I don't really have to breath anymore which is disappointing."

She studies Carol for a long hard moment. "What do you do on earth when you aren't spreading love... is that even a thing.. what the heck do Violet Lanterns actually do.. you aren't space cops."

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire shrugs. "It's very complicated. I do have a day job. You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you." She grins widely. "I do try to keep my identity secret. For a myriad of reasons." She shrugs. "And what the Star Sapphires do is follow their hearts out there in the galaxy."

Nyx has posed:
"Well.. that sounds fraught with complications and drama." she smiles though when she says it, perhaps a bit cheered up for some reason.

"Anyhow I don't have one... Agent Twining, Codename Nyx of SHIELD... if you need anything like heavy firepower I can be found in New York at the Triskelion."

She looks to earth. "have a good night."

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire nods. "Great to meet you, Agent Twining." She smiles faintly as she waves, then flies away, descending towards Earth. She leaves an eight-point star construct behind her as she descends down towards New York City.
