Hermione, or Minnie as she calls herself, is just a small town, girl next door type from Nebraska. She packed up and moved to New York upon discovering that she was a mutant, thinking that a place that has so many people would clearly have more mutants and therefore more people like her. Only now she's here in the big city, not exactly sure what to do with herself now that she's here. She feels like she should use her powers for the betterment of mankind, being an idealistic young adult. However, she hasn't had her powers for very long and still isn't really sure how they work, especially considering they only seem to work half the time.

This young woman has a wide-eyed look about her that makes her look both in her early twenties or late teens and like a fresh faced tourist more then a hardened local. Her 5?6? frame yo-yos from slim to rather curvy, depending on where she is in this months diet trend. Shoulder length brown hair frames her face with rosy apples at her cheeks and a cute button nose to accompany her big blue eyes.
She smiles easily, warm and friendly, and is still able to look at the world with a sense of wonder and appreciation. Definitely, not a local. Her clothes are worn in such a way as to flatter her when she's on the heavier side, the popular trend of tights and hip length tunics being a staple for her.

Hermione Jean Langdon. She's pretty sure her parents would have given her the last name Granger too, if they could. Her parents had such high hopes for her. They hoped their daughter would be as smart and ambitious as her namesake. But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and Hermione was just as average as her parents were. Average student, kinda pretty but not on a cheerleader level, average athlete. Hermione had nothing about herself to make her stand out from the crowd.
A job at the diner, maybe marry the town mechanic's oldest son, three or four kids; that was about the level of Hermione's ambitions for her life. That all changed when she started to date Billy.
Hermione was raised a good girl, with good Christian values, so she and Billy never got passed first base. But he seemed happy to sit with her on the front porch swing, holding hands and letting their thighs touch in the summer heat. And the night he finally kissed her goodnight, she was walking on air. Literally. Her parents pointed out the fact that she was indeed floating, worried what others would do if they found out their daughter was 'one of them'. But they loved her and would support her and protect her, as long as she was more careful.
It took a few months for Hermione to figure out the correlation between her evenings with Billy on the porch and her ability to fly or lift heavy weights.
It was Hermione's own decision to head of to New York, figuring with more people, the amount of mutants would be greater too, and perhaps someone who could explain to her how her power works and maybe some way of dealing with that pesky charging problem. She never did tell Billy why she was leaving. Upon getting to New York, she got herself a job and a place to stay. The place isn't anything anyone would right home about, barely enough room to swing a cat.

Hermione is the epitome of a small town girl in the big city. She's sweet, kind, perhaps a little too trusting. She likes to help those in need. She's the sort of girl that may not give money to a homeless person, but will come by the next day with a Tupperware container of leftover stew and a hand knit scarf. She can be shy, especially around men, as she was raised with Christian values and hasn't gone past first base yet. She has a strong sense of responsibility and duty and a very good work ethic. However, she's not very ambitious, just happy to take things one day at a time.

FLIGHT
As with all of Hermione's powers, her access to this power is limited to how much she has been 'charged'. Ideally, she would be able to fly as fast as a jet plane for about four hours before she started to slow down as her charge diminished. Most of the time, she can fly about the same speed as city traffic. (50 km) When she is lacking in charge, she can hover maybe a few inches above the ground and can move at a walking pace.
GLOW
This ability, like her healing touch, only shows up when she is fully charged. Hermione's whole body has a non directional glow. While the fact that she is glowing is visible in daylight, it is not so bright as to be uncomfortable to look at. In the dark, she could easily be used as a light source of about 65 lumens. (not quite as strong as a flashlight)
HEALING TOUCH
Hermione only has access to this power when she is fully charged. Through skin on skin contact, Hermione is able to heal people from injury. This drains her charge considerably though. The severity of the injury will determine the amount she is drained. This ability cannot bring someone back from the dead. There has to be a spark of life still within the person for it to work. The healing would be of Wolverine level in terms of speed.
SUPER STRENGTH
As with all of Hermione's powers, her access to this power is limited to how much she has been 'charged'. Ideally, at full charge, she would be able to lift about 50 tonnes. Most of the time, she has the strength to lift about 5 tonnes. When she is lacking in charge, she can lift a full sized adult in each hand over her head.
SUPER TOUGHNESS
As with all of Hermione's powers, her access to this power is limited to how much she has been 'charged'. Ideally, Hermione would be able to shrug off anything that isn't backed with super strength. Bullets will bounce off of her, melee weapons will break against her skin, and any blows are more likely to hurt the person doing the punching then herself. Most of the time, she can only deal with small arms gunfire at best. When she is without charge, she will just seem to be able to take a beating for a lot longer then most people, at the level of a trained boxer.

THE SQUEEZE

Hermione is loyal to a fault where her family is concerned. She will do anything in her power to help or protect those that have become close to her, either her biological family or those that have become close enough to her to regard them as such. She will support the people she loves if they are doing something that genuinely gives them happiness, even if it is something that she herself does not agree with.
HUMAN TOUCH
Hermione's power is charged through skin on skin contact. The more skin, the faster she is able to charge. This is something that causes a great amount of emotional stress on Hermione, as she is rather shy and frankly asking a person to cuddle with her is about as likely for her as propositioning a person for sex. In fact, Hermione is not aware of the full capabilities of her powers as she has never been fully charged. One person could charge her fully in an 8 hour period of bathing suit clad body contact. More people will also speed up the process, even if the amount of skin being touched doesn't change. Hermione thinks this aspect of her power is utterly appalling and embarrassing.
