Profile

General Dru-Zod was the greatest General in Krypton's history. At least that is what he would tell you. He is also the most infamous, having attempted a military coup during the time when Krypton was suffering through a very difficult time in its history. Zod elicited fanatical loyalty from his troops, as a man who would lead by example, and often led from the front in many battles that he and his troops fought. Captured and imprisoned in the Phantom Zone for treason, Zod was trapped. However, due to recent events, Zod has been released from the Phantom Zone, and has arrived on Earth to begin again.

Description:

The man that stands before you is tall, well over six feet. His presence is imposing, with dark black hair cut in a military style and deep steel-blue eyes. He has an impressive physique, a soldier's physique, athletic, and muscular. His face is clean shaven except for a well-maintained beard, black with the occasional fleck of silver.

Zod is currently wearing an obsidian black set of Kryptonian skin-tight armour that seems to move as he moves. A black, flowing cape is attached to his shoulders, and in the centre of this armour is the symbol of his family. The crest of the family of Zod. His boots and gloves are of dark black leather, and appear well worn and comfortable.

History

History:

Dru-Zod was born into one of the great families of Krypton, the House of Zod. Incredibly gifted and talented in the "martial" arts, he fit into the Zod family mold very well. Zod grew up a friend of Jor El, due to his keen scientific mind. Although they had their differences, they often saw eye-to-eye when it came to the security of Krypton - and the danger it faced. After years of experience, training, and battle, Zod was finally promoted to General, and assumed control over the military resources of all of Krypton.

As the cataclysm approached, Zod and Jor El became even more desperate for a solution. Jor El took a different track, deciding to attempt a scientific solution to the oncoming doom. Zod decided to take matters into his own hands. Attempting a coup on the ruling families, and the Council, Zod was finally defeated and captured.

Zod and all of his loyal followers were then sentenced to the Phantom Zone for treason, a life sentence. Vowing vengeance, Zod was then banished at the hands of Jor El himself.

After a strange accident in the current timeline, Zod was finally released from the Phantom Zone, and discovered he was now on the adopted planet of the only child of his greatest friend...and enemy, the last son of Krypton, Kal El. After an initial bout of madness, Zod was defeated by Kal El. Going into hiding, Zod bides his time, deciding what to do next.

Personality

Personality:

Zod has a unique personality. He is a soldier, a brilliant tactician, a strategist, and sees the "big picture". He has a commanding presence, that can instill in others tremendous, unbreakable loyalty. He has an unquenchable fire for justice - and a streak of vengeance at the loss of his planet and those who may have caused its end. He is, and always will be, completely loyal to Krypton and her people.

Zod has a code of honour. He will fight with all his strength, resources, and ability to reach victory. He is not underhanded or cruel, but he is not above killing to reach his goals. Zod is also loyal to his troops, and would die for those he believes are loyal to himself, and to the ideals of Krypton. Zod wants, above all else, to restore his vision of a great Krypton, and will do anything to see his home restored once more.

Zod respects power, strength, commitment, loyalty, honour, skill, intelligence, and devotion to one's ideals. That is why he respects the heroes of Earth, and others in this Galaxy who fight for what they believe in. That would not stop him if they stand in his way.

Zod dislikes criminals, dishonourable people, miscreants, dishonesty, and weakness. However, he will put aside that dislike in order to see his goals through to fruition. Power is what he respects, and Zod knows he is one of the most powerful beings in existence. Which makes him overconfident and arrogant at times.

Zod is devious, cunning, incredibly intelligent, suspicious, observant, brilliant, manipulative, prescient, and if need be, deadly. Beware.

Abilities

Eidetic Memory:
Zod has a photographic memory, able to recall events and details from the past as though he was standing there now. It is like he is looking at a picture of the past event, and he can ascertain details from that picture, including sounds, feelings, smells, etc. His ability to learn is also superhuman, as his enhanced mind can do calculations, learn a new language, or observe events at an enhanced rate.

Flight:
Due to Zod's Kryptonian heritage, his body has absorbed the ability to shift gravity in such a way as to propel himself, through the air, at near limitless speeds or hover in place. Zod can easily obtain Earth orbit, and fly from the ground to space in seconds. Zod can also maintain near light speeds in space, although to travel any significant distances, he would have to locate wormholes or utilize a spacecraft.

Invulnerability:
Due to Zod's Kryptonian heritage, he can absorb the solar radiation of "yellow" stars. This ability provides him with an almost impenetrable energy barrier around his body that is almost impervious to any harm. This includes bullets, lasers, missiles, lightning, explosions, anything short of a nuclear explosion. Zod can also survive in extremely inhospitable environments, including space, the bottom of the ocean, gas, a volcano, the arctic, high radiation, without much effect on him. Zod's incredible endurance allows him to hold his breath for several hours without needing to take a breath. It should be noted that Zod's invulnerability does not extend to magic, and he can be affected as though he was a normal human being.

Solar Energy Absorption:
Due to Zod's Kryptonian heritage, he can absorb the solar radiation of "yellow" stars. This gives him several superhuman abilities, such as super strength, speed, breath, senses, and flight. Zod also gains enhanced healing, allowing him to heal from most minor or moderate wounds 10-12 times faster than a healthy human. This does not allow him to regenerate lost limbs. This also increases his lifespan and allows him near perfect immunity to disease. Zod also does not need to eat, as he absorbs the energy from the sun directly for nourishment. He can eat, and does enjoy eating when necessary. Zod will age slowly while exposed to a yellow sun. He could, theoretically, live for hundreds, if not, thousands of years. Under a blue solar environment, these abilities are also at an enhanced level.

Super Breath:
Due to Zod's Kryptonian heritage, his ability to absorb yellow solar radiation allows him to expand his lung capacity to a superhuman level. With that enhanced capacity, Zod can inhale vast amounts of air, and exhale it at hurricane level gust or at a sub zero temperature level, to freeze whatever he wants to freeze.

Super Hearing:
Due to Zod's Kryptonian heritage, his senses are magnified under a yellow sun. His hearing is such that he can hear at all frequencies, and hear a conversation happening all the way around the world. With concentration, he can pinpoint even the slightest of sounds, and where it is coming from. With practice, he has developed a keen sense of hearing, able to filter out all the background noise and hone in on specific sounds.

Super Speed:
Zod is fast. Nearly as fast as the Flash on ground, and in the air, unbelievably fast. Zod tends to stay under Mach 3 when in the atmosphere, but with these abilities, he can run across water, up the side's of buildings, and maneuver at unstoppable rates, able to literally dodge a speeding bullet, or move out of the way of a laser (if he knows it is coming). These speeds allow him to read a book in seconds, do small menial tasks in moments, and change from costume to civilian clothes in a moment.

Super Strength:
Due to Zod's Kryptonian heritage, he can absorb the solar radiation of "yellow" stars. While on Earth, this gives him superhuman levels of strength, making him the equal of an adult Kryptonian, such as Superman or Supergirl. Zod can tear a battle tank apart with his bare hands, hurl a Battleship into orbit, and punch through the walls of a building in a second or two.

Super Vision:

Due to Zod's Kryptonian heritage, his senses are magnified under a yellow sun. His vision is enhanced to the point that he can see things happening on the ground when he is in orbit around the planet as though he was standing right there. With concentration, he can even see down to the subatomic level. Zod also has X-Ray vision and can easily see through walls, clothing, armor, the ground, and into vehicles, except when covered by lead.

Skills

Combat:
Zod has received hand-to-hand combat from some of the best fighters Kryptonian history has ever known. As an experience soldier, and veteran of countless battles, Zod has developed above average skills in hand-to-hand combat, and is also a master of a myriad of weapons, including melee, firearms, energy weapons, and advanced technological devices from the advanced state of Krypton.

Intergalactic Knowledge:
Zod was a member of the Kryptonian military, and has had encounters with countless interstellar races. Zod has also been a prisoner of the Phantom Zone, and as such, has picked up a myriad of skills and knowledge from several dozen alien races. He knows politics, technology, cultures, science and history of several races he has come in contact with, and is familiar with the Intergalactic Community at large.

Languages:
Zod, while a member of Krypton's military, has traveled from one end of the Galaxy to another, and during his stay in the Phantom Zone has learned innumerable languages. With his enhanced abilities, he has retained these languages from the intergalactic community, and even those on Earth. Zod knows most Earth languages, and knows Kryptonian and Daxamite, as well as Khundish, Dominator, Kree, Shi'ar, Skrull, to name a few.

Leadership:
Zod was born to rule. As the Commander-in-Chief of the Kryptonian Military, and born the eldest son into the great House of Zod, he has received training in leadership from the best their world had to offer. Zod is a natural leader, charismatic, and confident. A master tactician and strategist, Zod has the uncanny ability to instill in his followers fanatical loyalty and trust. He is an incredible public speaker, and a man who truly defines the words "lead by example". His men and women would die for him, and they have.

Politics:
Zod was raised from birth to be a soldier, but also ingrained in politics. Local politics. Regional politics. Planetary politics. Interplanetary politics. Intergalactic politics. Although he prefers a martial ending to the game, this has ben useful when dealing with others from the "noble" houses of Krypton.

Scientific Knowledge:
Zod was trained as a soldier, yes. However, as a youth, Zod was always interested in scientific knowledge. As an advanced intergalactic race, the Kryptonians have many advances that Zod remembers and can use. As a friend to Jor El, Zod was also familiar with a lot of cutting edge scientific theories that were not general knowledge. Zod has a keen mind, and picks up new ideas easily and with little effort.

Strategy & Tactics:
Zod is a military genius. He is a master strategist, an unrivaled tactician, and truly, one of the greatest military minds to come out of the history of Krypton. He is observant, swift, decisive, and has few moral quandaries at sending his troops off to die to win the day. This isn't to say Zod is a coward, as he is just as likely to assume battlefield command, and tread "where angels fear to" and lead the men from the front. That is what makes him such a devastatingly effective General.

Survival:

When Zod was very young, his parents were killed on an expedition. Left behind alone, he had to survive, in the wilderness, for over a year before a rescue came. This made him keenly aware of what can kill you when faced with this situation. Zod learned how to survive in the cold, the heat, and the wilderness - when everything is trying to kill you.

Resources

Armour:
Zod's armour is made of advanced, self-repairing Kryptonian technology, tougher than anything on Earth. Any damage that the armour takes will heal over time, depending on how significant the damage is, from hours, to days. This armour also has the symbol of his house, the House of Zod in the centre of the chest. This armour can withstand small arms and energy weapons, although Zod no longer needs this protection as he has become invulnerable under the yellow sun. However, it can be extremely useful if he loses his powers for any reason.

Kryptonian Scout Ship:
While in the Phantom Zone, Dru-Zod was able to find an ancient Kryptonian scout ship, it's phantom drive having sucked it into the phantom zone where it had drifted for millennium it's systems partially functioning it from the effects of the zone. With it Zod was able to escape the phantom zone bringing him to earth. Currently it sits in a high earth orbit, the phantom drive disengaged, it's self repairing systems having restored the ship to it's former glory.

IT's no fortress of solitude, but the computers on board are more advanced than anything the humans have cobbled together, maybe with the exception of Stark, and Richards..

Sunstone Computer:

Another artifact of the long dead Krypton that Zod has been able to recover is a Kryptonian Sunstone computer. Roughly the size and shape of a human cellphone, the crystal slab is both an Artificial intelligence, and powerful computing device. No where near as powerful as Superman's Fortress of Solitude, this device can still project translucent holograms and can access all but the most secure computer systems on the planet.

Weaknesses

Enemies:
Zod has a lot of enemies. The now deceased Kryptonian Council. Many Earth superheroes. Kal-El and the Superman Family. Anyone that would oppose his dream to bring back Krypton. A lot of people.

Kryptonite:
Zod, like all Kryptonians after the destruction of their planet, is vulnerable to the shattered remnants of his planet. Green Kryptonite is potentially deadly to Zod. Green K saps his strength, weakens him, makes him vulnerable to harm, and will kill him after prolonged exposure. A very rare type of Kryptonite, Red K takes away what little restraint he has left, and will make him into a murderous, hedonistic monster. There are other "colours" of Kryptonite that have other effects on his Kryptonite physiology as well, but they are yet to be discovered.

Magic:
Zod's invulnerability does not stop magic attacks or effects. Zod can be affected by magic just like any normal human without protection.

Ptsd:
Zod suffers from severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As a soldier who spent years in battle and intense combat situations, Zod suffers from those memories. The loss of his friends and troops. The death and destruction he's witnessed. The pain, and anguish, and trauma from intense combat. All of this has left him a little unhinged and he suffers from traumatic flashbacks and nightmares. That is why he rarely sleeps.

Solar Energy:
Zod's metabolism requires the solar energy of a yellow (or blue, for example) sun to power his abilities. Without the yellow sun's energy, Zod reverts back to a normal average "human" being, without his super abilities, over a period of time. By pushing his abilities, he can drain them quicker under a red sun, so he can be weakened this way.

The Code:

Zod follows a Code. Beat into him from an early age by the patriarchs and matriarchs of the Zod family, he has a code of honour. He will not kill unless absolutely necessary. He will fight fair, and equitably. He will not stab someone in the back, or betray his friends and allies. He is honest, blunt, and forthright. He is ruthless in performing his duty, and will fight with that code to defeat his enemies. The only thing that will override this code is his duty to Krypton and her people.
