Clint Barton It's late afternoon at the TECHSPO exhibition. At this time of day, the crowds flock to see the latest technological innovations. For most visitors, these technologies are on the cutting edge. But for a few, including Clint Barton, it looks more like an electronic gadget store. And that's exactly what he's looking for, an interesting or fun gadget for Special Agent Johnson.

Clint always prefers to stay away from crowds, but unless he breaks in after dark, he has no choice but to do like everyone else and visit during business hours.

Currently, the archer stopped in front of a booth offering the full range of networking products.
Kinsey MacKenna Kinsey MacKenna doesn't normally like large crowds. In fact, she is used to being in her lab by herself. But today she is braving the crowds just looking around the tech world. After all, it was necessary every now and then to be up on certain aspects of her job. She stopped and looked at the networking. "Interesting."
Clint Barton It seems that networking is not the as popular as other sections of the exposition. Few people are crowding in front of the stand. Clint glances at Kinsey, nodding at her.

"My girlfriend would probably say it's just primitive technology," he comments, grinning. "Me? I know like shit about these things. Not really my gig."
Kinsey MacKenna "Really?" Kinsey laughs softly. "I guess I wouldn't know primitive technology unless it involves my lab. It looks top tech to me. Do I look so lost?"

She shakes her head.
Clint Barton Clint shrugs at the mention of top tech. He's seen SHIELD R&D, they create top tech over there, which is why agent Johnson is equipped with the best technology known to mankind. The which you wouldn't find at TECHSPO for another ten years at least.

"A lab?" he replies, "What kind of lab?" he ask conversationally.
Kinsey MacKenna Kibou protests. "My tech is top notch!"

"And it isn't available to the general public. Or me! now hush!"

Kinsey explained, to Clint, "I work in the science labs. I do Xenobiology, in particular Genetic engineering. But I'm the lead scientist. I look over the whole lab. Most of the time it's boring. But I enjoy it."
Clint Barton "What was that voice?," Clint wonders, trying to locate to origin of the voice. It seemed to be coming from the woman's hand. Now /this/ could be the kind of gadget he'd be interested in. But how could it interact with the current conversation?

No matter the voice, she also mentioned her line of work, which is not quite common around.

"Xenobiologist, that's something else. You work at a university?"

Clint steps aside, giving room to visitors interested in the networking gadgets, which is not his case. Standing between two stands, Kinsey and him have more room to talk without being in the way of the crowd.
Kinsey MacKenna Kinsey laughs softly. "I work for the Canadian government. I'm something of an exchange student. Only not the student part. All the government's in the world are part of this."

As for Kibou..

"That was my ring. He took offense at being primitive. He says he's not. And he's supposed to be quiet!" Kinsey looks apologetic.
Clint Barton Clint blinks for a second. Right, she has a talking and /thinking/ ring. Or maybe it's just a communication device, which means she's wired and in direct communication with someone throught the ring.

"Well, /he/ is not so primitive. I was referring to the networking technology."

Clint grins at that, "I see you're above general public when it comes to communication. It'd make sense, since you're working for an international organization. Which one?"

Well, he's not going to say that he works occasionally for SHIELD and if she didn't recognize him as an Avengers, the better.
Kinsey MacKenna "See? Alright, he apologized. Are you happy?" Kinsey takes a moment to explain to Kibou, while seemingly giving him heck. She really isn't. And he knows it.

Not that Clint knows, but Kibou is satisfied. Very satisfied.

"It is part of the MacKenzie King Space station." Oh, yes. She knows something about him, but she's not going to embarrass him unless he brings it up first.
Clint Barton Ah, now it makes sense. Kinsey is not your average scientist if she's working in a lab at the Makenzie King base!

"I see," Clint replies, lowering his voice a bit as realization dawns on him. "Riiight. I know the place, but never got to visit the labs. Must be something!"

He then offers his hand, "By the way, I'm Clint, working for a /sister/ organization."
Kinsey MacKenna A smile creeps up on her face. "I had wondered. But I wouldn't have made you come out and say it. Or worse, been one of the girls who stood on your every word, gushing. Sometimes it's just nice to be one of the crowd. Isn't it."

She shakes his hand. "Kinsey. I used to be just plain old Kinsey, but Kibou had other things in store for me." And as she shakes his hand, it becomes apparent what kind of ring Kibou is. "If you would like to visit, I can arrange for a tour. But I should warn them first. They don't really appreciate the people who have dropped in. Clint? With the arrows?"
Clint Barton A light chuckle comes from Clint as he replies, "Yeah, I'm not used to, nor seek, any publicity. And yes, with the arrows, always. Please to meet you, Kinsey."

Keeping his voice low enough that no bystander can hear what he says, he then adds.

"I'd love to visit, there won't be any problem with my security level. Maybe then you can tell me more about Kibou, I don't think here would be safe to talk about it." He pauses for a moment, then adds. "Last time I went up there, with Stark, we were fighting the Technovores. You probably noticed a private space station going kaboom."
Kinsey MacKenna "Ah, Mr. Stark.. was he upon the Watchtower?" She is careful to keep her voice down. "I've some friends there. Though, I haven't met Mr. Stark yet. As for security level, that would make them be more pleasant! Most of them haven't been so polite." And how!
Clint Barton It's not that he's elusive, but some details he'd rather no divulge in public.

"Private transport, if you know what I mean? And damn his piloting, I'm just lucky to be alive," he answers, offering that grin of his.

As for the visit, it seems obvious he's interested, though not at the expense of putting her in trouble.

"Well, just don't get in trouble for it," he says, "I'd love to see the labs, but I understand secret, trust me."
Kinsey MacKenna "Tell you what, give me your cell phone, and I'll arrange a date." She doesn't go into Stark at the behest of Clint. "When Kibou was new, let's say that some persons wanted to check me out. It's getting better."
Clint Barton Clint agrees and gives his number to Kinsey. Oh, it would be so cool to visit the labs at Mackinzie!

"Why would they do that?" he asks, "I mean, men checking you out, I can understand, ring or not. I'm sure you have more to offer."

He pauses for a moment, then shakes his head, laughing "OK, that sounded weird, hey. I mean. Right, I still have to find that something for my girlfriend."
Kinsey MacKenna "That's okay. Besides didn't you say you have a girlfriend?" Kinsey shrugs, "But they weren't checking me out that way. You do know what Kibou is?"
Clint Barton Clint grins, "Yes, I have a girlfriend, I'm here to find her a gift, or something," he replies.

He then looks a bit more at the ring on Kinsey's finger.

"Actually, nope. What is Kibou? Some sort of communication device linked to a computer?"
Kinsey MacKenna "Kibou is a blue power ring. So you can imagine why they wanted to check me out.." Kinsey nods, and asks, "Have you got a gift picked out?"
Clint Barton Clint had heard of the rings before, but never was standing so close to one before. There's a lot to discover in the universe, and this day was a good one when he met Kinsey.

"Nope," he says after a moment, "I've been looking for a while, but I'm afraid I'll have to go back to the infallible chocolate!"
Kinsey MacKenna Kinsey laughs allowed. "Good choice. I think she will be happy."
