Owner Pose
Clint Barton It beats travelling on a spaceship piloted by Iron Man. At least, the zeta beam is faster and above all, way safer.

True to her words, Kinsey MacKenna has invited Hawkeye to visit the space station. It did take some security checks, but the archer's file stamped with the word AVENGER made it all easier in obtaining the necessary security clearance.

After visiting around the station, Kinsey and Hawkeye are now entering the science module.

"So, this is where you do your researches?" he asks Kinsey as he looks around at the different science stations against the walls.
Kinsey MacKenna True to her word, Kinsey invited "Hawkeye" to her science lab.

"I'm afraid that it really looks specular on paper, or movies, but here it is. I'm in charge here. but when I work, I'm looking at the particular chromosome linked to HG-15. Or blue. I know, weird huh?"
Clint Barton Huh, yeah, chromosome HG-15. This sounds like a game of bingo.

"Chromosome HG-15, right," Clint replies, a hand scratching the back of his head. "And you find much of it?"

Both of them walk along the stations against the wall. It is really a large room for a space station.
Kinsey MacKenna "No, not really. We have to replicate it. Most of my experiments involve petri dishes." Kinsey laughs. "But I did revamp the science labs. We had a little accident about one year ago."
Clint Barton "A little accident on a space station can become a major problem," Clint replies, fresh memories of the Stark station exploding.

"And what do you try to do with the blue gene?"

The few scientists and assistants working around seem very focused on their work.
Kinsey MacKenna "Ooooh yes. We had a little bomb go off, right about.. here." And she gestures. "At least we stopped it from being worse. That was my introduction to the Lanterns, before I became one."

She looked reminiscent.

"Pardon? Oh.. HG-15. Well, right now, propagation on their own. It's difficult."
Clint Barton A bomb on a space station, she's lucky to still be alive!

"Let's hope it doesn't happen again, especially today!" Clint chuckles at the idea. Yeah, that would be his luck.

"Oh, right. The lanterns. So that is when you got, hrm, Kibou?"

If he's not really versed about Lanterns, at least he remembers the name of her ring.
Kinsey MacKenna Kinsey laughs softly. "No, if there were to be a bomb, I would expect to be on duty and stop it. The last one, I didn't have Kibou. Yes, that's his name."

"I had to travel very far to see if I was worthy. A blue represents Hope."
Clint Barton "Ah, I see. Blue lantern, blue chromosome, figures."

They keep walking along the many science stations as they talk. Clint listens to Kinsey's explanation, which is quite an interesting story.

"So, you went to a far planet to get a ring. And obviously you were worthy, but what makes one worthy? Some sort of test?"
Kinsey MacKenna "Unfortunately it's just a coincidence with blue!" She chuckles, and continues. "Everybody's test is different. For example I was supposed to go up this mountain to take my test, when really my test was how I was on the way up there. I thought I blew it, but I was happy, because I helped a creature along the way. Turns out, Kibou was filled up with my Hope along the way."

"He was so proud, but then again he's young." Kinsey laughs.
Clint Barton The way Kinsey explains it seems to make total sense to her, which isn't Clint's case. But this is not an inquiry and the archer doesn't press the matter too much.

"Interesting test, I bet you were glad and proud. And Kibou as well." He pauses, then asks, "But what does the ring, I mean, Kibou, do?"
Kinsey MacKenna "What does he do.."

Kinsey thinks.

"Well, if I were going to say, Kibou is a supercomputer that runs off of my emotions. In this case, Hope. But there are numerous emotive states, one per ring colour. For example Green has will. In fact, Blue is helpful to Green."
Clint Barton Clint raises an eyebrow, this is becoming fascinating.

"We all knows that there are jerks everywhere," he comments, "On Earth and around. Are there rings for negative emotions, which would make some lanterns hit the naughty list?"
Kinsey MacKenna "Well.." Kinsey sighs. "Unfortunately yes. Sometimes they can help you, but ultimately they're not really helpful. Some are good and bad, depending. For example, Will isn't a good or bad trait. It depends on the ring wearer. Mostly Greens work with Blues. It is a symbiosis that works well. Usually Greens are good."

She doesn't explain the others. Probably just as well.
Clint Barton Clint senses that this will be all she'll share about the less positive traits of certain Lanters.

"Ring or not," he says, "Everyone's trying to do what they can with what they have." He pauses, then asks, "So, is it a life deal, or can you like, resign?"
Kinsey MacKenna "Well.." And then she thinks: would she be able to toss the ring off, so to speak? "For me, it's a part of my person. I can't help be hopeful.." It's probably the first time to she has had to admit *Hope* is what she is. "But, I imagine it can happen. All the rings have their own intrinsic barometer, and they can leave themselves."
Clint Barton Clint smiles at Kinsey, almost apologetic. H feels that he might be asking to many questions.

"I didn't mean to ask so many questions," he explains. "I'm just curious. Y'know, in my line of business, so to speak, it's good to be informed. As for Hope, well, we never have enough, do we?"
Kinsey MacKenna "No, there's never enough hope! And I'm not saying that because," Kinsey laughs.

"I don't mind. Out here, on the space station I don't really have to explain my philosophy, except to Kibou. It was nice. Hopefully I made sense!"

"Next time, you can tell me about you. And your girlfriend."
Clint Barton Clint grins at that suggestion, "There ain't much to say about me, Kinsey, really."

As they were talking, they reached the exit door of the lab.

"I must thank you for the visit, and everything. This was a very enlightening visit. Hopefully, we'll meet again soon."
