Kit Killovarras Mid day and the park is once again alive with people, though perhaps fewer than on the weekends. Just a little ways off one of the paths in a more secluded and wooded area of the park, Kit can be found near a thin stream beside a small waterfall. Though he's wearing his typical denim jeans, his zip-up hoodie is hanging from a tree-branch a few feet from him while he soaks his tank-top in the stream, or maybe he's washing it? Regardless of which, his body shows every sign of an animal on high alert.
Vitali There are others who prefer the wooded and more solitary areas of the park as well. Amongst the trees walks one who is of such ilk. The man wears a pair of black steel-toed boots, black jeans, and a green turtleneck shirt. His long black hair has been caught at the nape of his neck and woven into a neat and simple braid that falls the length of his back. Nary a weapon is visible upon his person, and his hands rest at his sides. There is an eagle gliding overhead in lazy circles, few wingbeats taken, and she's a species that doesn't belong here. She is from as far away as the man who walks amongst the trees, for they travel together. Vitali follows the little stream, though he pauses and stops as he comes into what is likely the visual range of the fellow with the tank top soaking. For the moment, he says nothing and he comes no closer.
Kit Killovarras Footsteps are far from silent when you have ears like Kits and it's apparent the moment the other individual walks into view. He's already looking in his direction, though he doesn't make a move. Every defining feature of this beast can be seen clearly, from fur and his long tail to his mismatched eyes and claws. There's no sign of aggression, in fact it's quite the opposite, when his muscles tense, it almost looks like he's about to bolt, but instead he just sort of slumps a little , his ears folding back just a little as he goes back to dealing with the article of clothing.
Vitali The Siberian fellow is familiar with such senses -- he has them, too, when he wears other forms. It's why he stopped where he did. There is naught about him that holds any threat or aggression. He notices the signs that indicate the likelihood of bolting, for in his home he was a hunter. Vitali gracefully shifts his position, lowering into a crouch and settling his forearms upon his knees. He watches for a long moment, remaining still and where he is. He's familiar with animal behaviour, it would seem. "Can help with wash, if wish," Vitali offers, his voice soft and holding a Russian accent. English is not his native language.
Kit Killovarras Theres a little chuckle from Kit and his lips tug a little into a smile. "It's fine. Thank you though." he says after a moment, pulling the tank top out of the water to wring it out. "Thanks for not panicking by the way." he adds before pulling the wet clothing on, giving a little sigh as he mutters something about hating summer.
Vitali There's a small nod from the Siberian, and he remains crouched in the same position. Still and calm. "Are welcome," Vitali says in a soft tone. He offers, and yet... people seldom do actually seem to want or accept his help. He lifts one of his shoulders in a faint shrug. "Is not needing thanking. Panic not useful," he says softly, his tone thoughtful. The eagle gliding above starts to angle down and ease amongst the trees, coming to land upon a low branch of a tree that's near to where Vitali is. Vitali doesn't even look over towards her, his gaze holding upon the fellow. "Is not full summer, yet. Not look forward to heat," he says, a hint of a smile finding the corners of his lips.
Kit Killovarras The eagle landing gets Kit's attention, his ears swiveling a bit before he looks at her, tilting his head for a moment before he looks back to the Siberian. "I know, I usually sleep during the day when it starts getting warmer, but I don't have that luxury in this place." He shrugs, then gives a smile and adds, "Last thing I need is to wake up to animal control trying to take me to a zoo or something." Then he walks over to his hoodie, fishing around in one of the pockets to pull out a small cloth bag. "Friend of yours, I'm assuming?" he says, motioning to the eagle as he pulls the bag open.
Kinsey MacKenna It was a beautiful day, and Kinsey was using it to the fullest. Coffee in one hand, book in the other, she was just sitting down to enjoy the rest of the afternoon off.

"Let's hope it remains so quiet, Kibou." Kibou was her ring. Of course those were the wrong things to say! Of course it wouldn't remain quiet.
Vitali There's a small nod from the Siberian, and a little bit of a smile that quirks at the corners of his lips. "Safe place hard for find, sometimes," he says, a thoughtful tone to his voice. "Easier ways for keep cool," he adds, a slightest hint of amusement to his voice. There is the faintest murmur from him, and he makes a slight gesture of his right hand, and a one foot block of ice appears near to the aardwolf humanoid. Yet he remains where he is, crouched and entirely at ease. "Animal control is problem, da," he affirms, givig a small nod. His dark gaze turns towards the eagle, and he tilts his head faintly to one side before his gaze turns back, and he gives a nod. "Da, is friend. Companion," he says, a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Is Soraya," he adds, lifting his right hand to gesture towards the eagle. Then he brings his hand to touch his chest. "Am Vitali."
Kit Killovarras Kit jumps a little at the appearance of the ice, then he just sort of laughs, sits down and just sort of leans against it a bit, musing, "Yeah, that'd certainly help to keep cool alright." He pops open the bag and grabs a handful of what - from a distance - look like some kind of nut, popping them into his maw before he smiles and nods, "Name's Kit. It's a pleasure meeting you, Vitali." Then he looks to the eagle and tilts his head, "Soraya huh? Pretty--" He's going to say more, but it's about that point that a rock beans him in the side of the head and a voice calls out.

"Well well, looks like we found the freak! Can't throw a rock in this town without hittin' one of em." It's a group of thugs, most of them looking to be around 16 or 17 and about ten or eleven in number, all coming from various directions, some of them armed with bats, others with knives or brass knuckles. "Did you really think we wouldn't find you?"

Rubbing the side of his head, checking his paw to note a small amount of blood, Kit just growls and grins, "Nah, actually I was half hoping you'd be stupid enough to follow me."
Kinsey MacKenna She had just opened her book when Kibou got her attention. "It sounds like bad business. Should we step in?"

"Well, not right now. They should be allowed to try and fix it on their own." Kinsey had already spotted the victims. "Remember, sometimes our job is to stand back and let them create their hope by themselves." Of course she would keep an eye on them just in case. Usually these bullies are all bark and no bite. Usually.

Just in case, she put her book away.
Vitali "Will last for little while before melt happen. When today become tomorrow," Vitali says softly, looking towards the ice cube before giving a small nod. Midnight. It is a very cold block of ice, interestingly enough, and colder than what would be just enough to be ice. "Is good for meeting, Kit," he says, giving a small nod. Soraya gives a sharp click of her beak when the rock hits Kit, her wings half spreading. A moment later, she launches into the air and wings her way to what is, hopefully, beyond reach of the weapons that the bullies have, circling about to keep an eye on things from above.

And that's when Vitali shifts his weight in order to rise to his feet, the movement graceful. He tilts his head faintly to one side, his gaze turning towards the group of misguided youths, and his brow furrows slightly. He gives a faint murmur uder his breath, paired with a slight gesture of his right hand, and a spear made of ice appears held in his right hand. A slight movement of his hand causes it to circle around his hand before he lightly taps the butt end of it against the ground. There is a certain familiarity with how he holds the weapon, for he does know how to use it quite well.
Kit Killovarras A couple of the thugs jump a little at the appearance of the spear, then one of them reminds them, "Two of them, ten of us. Lets get em!" before a bunch of them rush the pair!

Kit is back on his feet fairly quick, violet energy quietly crackling through the fur of his arms as a baseball bat from one of the thugs gets jerked out of their hand by an unseen force and swung back towards their ribs with a wet CRACK!

Three of them all rush Vitali at once, two wielding bats and one with a pair of brass knuckles.
Kinsey MacKenna The Siberian was very familiar with his weapon. That much is evident. But they were up against numerous ruffians with rocks, and who knows what else.

And then then *all* jumped, all ten of them, at once.

"Now can we help them?" Kibou was a young ring, but his 'heart' was in the right place.

"Now we can help them." And Kinsey made her way to the pair of them being picked on. "C'mon guys, knock it off. You had your fun, now go." What these ruffians do not know is Kinsey grew up in the projects, for one, and two, she happened to be a bearer of a blue ring. "You really don't want to pick on them."

She was quite happy to make it 3 against the whole pack of them. And she was fairly certain they were going to lose.
Vitali It is not such a bad number, all things considered. Ten versus two. Vitali takes a moment to look over the thugs, and he faintly tilts his head a touch to one side. Moving his left hand slightly, he makes a soft murmur of sound, giving a moment's worth of concentration to the power that he controls. A wide ring of angled ice spikes that are about six inches in length, spaced closely together so they're hard to avoid, suddenly bursts up from the ground in a two foot wide circle around him. A protective field, of sorts, giving him about a two foot space of clear before it begins. A second field of ice rises up around Kit, to lend similar protection.

The spear is shifted, lifted, and the Siberian shifts his weight as he reaches out with the butt end of it to attempt to smack one of his attackers across the face with it. The spear, though ice, won't break at the impact, if his attempt lands true.
Kit Killovarras With two of them already down, one from his own weapon mysteriously beating him and the other from the buttcap of a spear, the thugs continue their assault, a couple of them trying to get around or even over the newly formed spikes while others start finding and hurling rocks. A couple of them take note of Kinsey and one of them even belts out, "Keep out of this lady!"

Meanwhile, Kit takes note of the defenses and gives Vitali a glance and a chuckle, then turns his attention towards some of the thugs with projectiles, his claws glowing for a moment as he swings an arm in a wide arc, leaving a series of four long claw-marks in the air that suddenly fire off at one of them, leaving them pretty badly cut up, though the wounds are nowhere near fatal.
Kinsey MacKenna "Oh, I'd rather be reading my book, but Kibou is insistent that these boys.." Yes, she is old enough they are boys to her. "Might be in trouble." She shrugs. (Though in reality Vitali, and Kit, seem to have it almost under control)

Kinsey still hasn't entered the fray. She keeps her voice very soft, but forceful.

"It seems to me that *you* are getting your asses beaten off without my addition." And she grins. "Do you actually want me to join in? Honestly, you'd be better off to call it quits now. I won't let them chase you if you back out now."

For an older lady, she seems quite certain of what she can do. It reverberates throughout her words, without raising her voice.
Vitali Those who attempt to go over the spikes will find them to be razor sharp and sturdy enough to pierce through regular shoes. Such is the nature of the spikes, and this is not the first time that he's employed such a tactic in order to give himself a measure of protection. There's a brief glance towards Kit, but his attention readily returns to the attackers. The spear is brought around, circled about his body before he slightly shifts his hold upon it in order to aim the butt end of it towards the midsection of one of his other attackers.

There's a soft murmur from him, and he lifts the fingers of his left hand away from the icy shaft of the spear. A whip of water is drawn from the stream, and he uses his control of the water to flick it out towards the ankle of his other attacker, and if the whip catches, he'll pull back on it to attempt to pull the fellow's leg out from under him.

There's a glance that he casts towards the woman, and he tilts his head a touch to one side before he gives a small nod. "Will let surrender and leave. If they wish for do," he says, giving a glance towards their attackers. He has a Russian accent to his words, and his English isn't perfect. He'll let them leave without chasing them, let them surrender and retreat without harrying them.
Kit Killovarras The thugs, already starting to reconsider their attack, start weighing their options. Retreat sounds pretty good right about now. Their leader though instantly turns to the new woman and chucks his bat at her face! The weapon stops mid flight however, once again grabbed by some unseen force.

Kit lets his lips pull back, teeth bared as he calmly, but loudly states, "Be smart and listen to her!" then jerks his arm to one said and sends the bat flying back at the lead punk, catching his shoulder to spin him around and send him toppling.

With four of them already beaten, there's a general agreement of 'Ain't worth it' and the remaining six scatter, each running off in different directions out into the park.

Not wanting to make a liar out of the woman who decided to try and break up the fight, Kit doesn't chase after the group, but rather, calms himself down with a simple sigh and a frown, muttering, "Wonder how many it'll be next time.." more to himself than anyone.
Kinsey MacKenna Kinsey waits until they are far enough away before she turns to the boys. "Everyone is okay?" To begin with she starts with that.

Once they have been okay, she laughs at the situation. "It seems you didn't need me after all. Hush Kibou." She scolds her ring. "You were very wise to stop when you did. I really didn't want to stop you, but my word is my word. Besides, you look like the conquering heroes rather than different ruffians." And then she smiles. "Kinsey Mackenna at your service."

"And Kibou! Don't forget me!" Unless they figure out what it is, they might be a little bit confused.

"And Kibou." Kinsey rolls her eyes. "My ring. I'm one of the Blue Lanterns. Kibou is a very young ring. Forgive him."
Vitali Keeping the spear in hand, Vitali does a easy circle with it aroud his hand, bringing it so the sharp bladed end of it is held outwards. His gaze holds to the attackers for a long moment, and when they scatter, he gives a small nod. Then he moves his left hand to make a faint gesture, the ice spikes and his spear vanishing easily. "Are hurt or are okay?" he asks softly, a flicker of curiosity to his voice. He doesn't make to head after any of those who had attacked, just as he had promised.

His gaze turns towards the woman, and he inclines his head towards her. "Da, am fine. Am not hurt," Vitali says. He's quiet a moment, thinking, and then he gives a small nod. "Offer thanks for help, even if not need. Is always good for knowing is there, if need come," he adds, sounding grateful. "Is good for meeting both, Kinsey and Kibou. Am Vitali Svyatoslav," he offers. Then he gives a small shake of his head. "Am not knowing Blue Lanterns. Am sorry."
Kit Killovarras Kit rubs at the side of his head, which is still bleeding, then muses, "I'll be fine," as he runs his claws along the wound, leaving trails of energy through his fur that knit the flesh back together. It's worth noting that he's a little out of breath for some reason though. "Not the first time I've had to deal with those guys and probably wont be the last." Then he turns his attention to Kinsey, his ears perking forward a bit. His eyes are already on the ring before she announces who had spoken other than her and he gives a little chuckle, "Met a green one last night and a blue one today." he muses to himself, then offers a smile, "Nice to meet you all the same, Miss Mackenna and Kibou."
Kinsey MacKenna "Really?" Kinsey takes her turn at being surprised. She did not know if Hal was back, so it was possible he meant a /new/ Green. "Interesting, I shall have to meet him."

"It's alright." She looks over to Vitali. "I really didn't know of them until Kibou chose me. Blue is for Hope. And without that, we would all be lost." And she adds, "Blue and Greens share a close bond. The Hope fills up the Green's Willpower even more."

"You're certain," she began to Kit, "You're okay? I could heal it."
Vitali A glance is given towards the wound that Kit has, and he gives a small nod at the fellow's words. He tilts his head faintly to one side, noticing the out of breath nature of him. "People have narrow mind, sometimes," Vitali says in a soft tone. "Sit, rest? Are out of breath," he adds, giving a small nod. He doesn't offer his own healing as it seems between Kinsey and his own self, he has it handled. His attention turns to Kinsey, listening to what she says of the lanterns. "Hope good for having. Strong. Can change things, just by having," he says. He lifts his right hand, catching his braid and flipping it over his shoulder to his back. "Willpower also important," he adds, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
Kit Killovarras Kit laughs a little and smiles. "Nah, thank you though but I'm good. I can normally heal myself if the wounds aren't too bad." he says to Kinsey, then nods and pauses for a minute before he adds, "I think he said his name was John." He rubs at the now sealed wound and shrugs, still panting ever so slightly. Then he looks to Vitali and tilts his head before offering a smile, "My magic tends to wear me out a little. Worst part is, now that I've used it a bit, I'll probably feel like I'm starving in about twenty minutes."
Kinsey MacKenna "Mine isn't.. quite magic. Without my ring I wouldn't, well, be less than you." She includes both of them. "My ring only stays with me as long as I represent my particular trait, in this case, Hope. Perhaps.. hrm.. I tell you what, you don't need my healing, let me buy you lunch. Both of you?"
Vitali Vitali tilts his head slightly to one side, and then he gives a small nod. "Magic have cost. Is way of things," he says, his tone thoughtful. His own magic has a cost as well, drawing from the energy within him. His gaze lifts towards the eagle, following her movements, and she turns to start to wing her way towards him without there seeming to have been any sort of command from the Siberian. Vitali looks to Kinsey as she speaks of her ring, and he tilts his head slightly. "Give many thanks for offer of lunch," he says, inclining his head towards her. Politely accepting the offer, or at least as politely as his broken English allows.
Kit Killovarras Kit looks to Vitali and nods, "Yeah, so I've learned. Still a pain in the tail though." he says with a little chuckle and a toothy grin. Then he looks to Kinsey and nods, "Cool, thank you." he says, grabbing his hoodie from the tree and pulling it on. It's likely uncomfortable, having to walk around in warmer weather with what equates to a sweater on, especially with fut, but he doesn't seem to mind it too much.
Vitali Looking towards the eagle, Vitali tilts his head slightly to one side. Listening, it seems like, yet there is no sound coming from the eagle. The raptor circles around and, as Vitali lifts his left hand, she comes to land on his forearm. She easily walks up his arm to be on his shoulder, and then he lifts his hand to point in a particular direction. "Nearest food, that way. Not far," Vitali says, giving a small nod. He lowers his had back to his side, and after a glance towards each of them, he starts to head in the direction of it. It won't be a fancy lunch, but barbeque carts do offer tasty food that's good for satisfying hunger.
