About those Brothers...
Date of Scene: 14 November 2019
Location: Markovia Station, Old Gotham
Synopsis: Jason and Damian talk about the 'four brothers' Tim mentioned and then touch on matters closer to home. Also, Jason still doesn't know that the brothers are turtles.
Cast of Characters: Red Hood, Robin (Wayne)

Red Hood has posed:
The GCPD had finally finished with the upper levels of Sacred Martyr church and so Jason had returned to his base to take stock. A quick inspection had told him the cops hadn't found their way down below the basement, which was good for him but a bad sign for the GCPD. He'd have to bug Babs about her dad letting their training slip.

Though now that he was sure that all that remained of the police presence above ground were the strands of police tape buffeted by the cold November wind off the Hudson, Jason could focus on other things.

Grabbing his phone he sends off a message to Damian:

Todd >> Hey got time to stop by my place? Need to chat.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian had not had much time on his hands. But as he was asked, he would show up. He didn't respond to the text, but somehow managed to make it down to the Red Cave.

Robin showed up, in full suit, hood raised on his head and protected against the cold night air. He did not normally knock to be admitted, but in this instance, he did. The last time he was here, he was preparing to run off from Bruce after a large spat that happened between the two. Jason had supplied him two pistols, one of Arsenal's spare bows and a quiver, and field rations for a week.

"Good times." He whispered, looking at the entrance.

Red Hood has posed:
Jason is just putting more of his gear out when the knock on the door echoes through the empty station. Jason's turns, frowning. Since when did Damian knock? He wondered if Tim or Steph had wandered down this way.

Still, he makes his way to the door, wearing his Red Hood suit, minus the helmet and domino mask, in its place is a knit cap, pulled down past his ears. Hey it was cold down here in November! When the heavy metal door is pulled open Jason's surprise registers when he sees Damian standing there in full Robin regalia.

Somehow that reminded him of the same moment Damian was thinking of, the time he'd come for no questions asked supplies, Jason chuckles at the memory, "What no dragon this time?" he asks as he steps out of the way to let Damian inside.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Robin looked up at Jason and chuffs. "You want a big red bat dragon showing up right after the GCPD leave?"

Damian enters in, and lowers his hood, his people were desert and tropical folk, but every bit of Damian did not show any issue with the New Jersey November temperature. He looks around, not much had changed. Before long however, he turned to Jason, just looking, waiting for him to explain what he wanted to talk about.

Red Hood has posed:
Jason hip-checks the door closed with a reverberating bang, as he chuckles, "Yeah but that's what's brilliant about it, they'lll be looking for vigilantes, ninjas and gangsters, not dragons," he says almost convincingly before he shakes his head and admits, "Fair point. How is Goliath anyhow?"

He starts to lead the way inside the cave before Damian stops and levels that look at him and Jason's brows lift. "Ah, D, never change, right to the point as always," he says before he steps Damian and heads deeper into the abandoned station aimed in the direction of the coffee pot. He talks as he walks, "Talked to Tim yesterday and to my surprise it didn't totally suck," he says with a bit of a smile. "We were talking about the Foot," a face is made at the name, "Your granddad should really file an injunction against those guys by the way, seriously biting off the League's style," he glances back as he reaches the coffee. "Annnnyhow, he said you knew four brothers who were fighting the Foot in New York, figured I should look them up, given the mess they made upstairs I figure they're going to be our next problem after we're done with the demons." By the fact he said brothers and not turtles, it's a safe bet Tim didn't describe the brothers to Jason.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian, when he was not in the mode of being Damian, almost never took off his mask, it was a defense mechanism, in here, it was no different.

He listens to Jason's talk, but much like Bruce, he was waiting for the meat of the conversation. Then there it was: his eyes narrowed at the mention of the Foot. "I do. Have not talked with them since before..." He trailed off, clenching his fist at his side. He was alluding to before Knightfall, before he and everyone else were pulled back to Gotham, no mater where they had been.

Red Hood has posed:
Jason pours himself some coffee and then lifts the pot in an invitation for Damian to have some if he wanted, he suspected not. Still he sips from his own cup like it's sweet ambrosia, smiling a little at how eerie it could be when D channeled Bruce like that. Definitely a better successor to the mantle than any of the other Robins. The smile broadens a bit as Jason adds mentally: when he grows into it.

The words are kept firmly in his head but there is a hint of amusement that shows through in Jason's eyes as he sets aside his cup, it doesn't stay long when, Knightfall is referenced. Jason was the same way, he preferred not to speak of it directly if he could avoid it.

"Do you know where they hang out?" he asks. "And are they as good as Tim made them out to be?" he knew he could count on Damian to be brutally honest with his appraisal of their skills.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian was not shy of caffeine, but preferred tea over coffee. He held up a hand, politely refusing the nectar.

"Yes, I do. You will not like it, or perhaps you would. Now that I think about it."

"Two of them are, but the other two...are very good as well." He's vague, but the fact that he acknowledged their skills was a testament to their abilities. "They all specialize in their own style. They remind me of us, somewhat." They are also six foot turtles, but Damian has a respect for their fighting abilities, even Michelangelo.

Red Hood has posed:
With the refusal Jason puts the pot back on the machine and the turns to lean on the counter it's set on.

Damian's waring about not liking it, changed to maybe he will. "Oh? Where are they? A brothel? A strip club? Helena said that they had a foxy lady with them," he says with a very Jason smile at the thought of those options.

A smile blooms as Damian says they're a lot like the Batfam. "I said something similar to Tim, asked him if they had a too good looking know it all, an angry ruthless guy, a nerd and an even more ruthless one," he says before he nods and takes a sip of his coffee. "Wow, they must be good," Jason says reading between the lines. "Why haven't we heard of them? I can't think of four guys who've got fighting game that roll together in New York."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
The youngest Robin laughed as questions were thrown out on where they hung out. "I will let you find out for yourself." He comments, chuckling a little.

"A know it all, a ruthless one, a nerd, and...Michelangelo." He comments, which is both good and bad in Damian's eyes. "So I guess that fits. What with your delusions of grandeur." Yep, Jason is the Mikey.

"They are ninja, and their sensei is an avid practitioner of being unseen. Which is why you have never heard of them. They..." He chuffs. "Are unlike anything you've ever seen."

Red Hood has posed:
"Yay..." Jason offers about finding out for himself, it was never somewhere good when people said that.

And even not knowing these brothers, he can tell he's being teased. "I am so going to want to hit you later, aren't I?" he asks with a grin. Now he had even more reason to meet these guys.

"Keep in mind I've been knee deep in demons all... however long it's been, I've seen some shit," he says shaking his head and giving a little kick at Damian. "Brat. So, how do we get in touch with these guys?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian raises an eyebrow, smirking just a little at Jason's expense.

"Probably, but then again, most people do." He responds, most certainly earning a hit. "I've seen more." Damian adds in, commenting on things he's seen. "So when I tell you they are unlike anything I had seen, that should carry enough weight." He adds in, then looking to his phone, he looks up the map. "Go to Brooklyn, one twenty two and an eighth Laird Street. Bring two pizzas with you at night."

Red Hood has posed:
That smirk gets an honest chuckle, at his expense or not it was good to see Damian well... close to smiling anyhow.

"Oh it's coming," Jason says of the hit, but he wasn't going to brawl with his little bro right now. Later though...

With repetition the weight of Damian's comments do sink in, I mean, D had a dragon, if he says these guys are out there, that's saying something.

Though his certitude is put to the test when Damian gives him the address and the instructions to go with it. "If I didn't know you better, I'd say Tim roped you into his whole getting revenge on me scheme," he says with a shake of his head and a mouthed 'Boom' complete with exploding fist. "But it's you and it's Tim and that would never happen, so what gives? These guys really like pizza? Just doesn't seem like the thing you bring a super secret clan of ninjas without them wanting to woop your ass."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Hmm, Damian and Tim working together, sounds scary, and while Damian does put his beef with Tim to the side when it needs to be, he doesn't go out of his way to be all team-like with him. "Either you bring pizzas to that location, or you go around on patrol there, waiting to see if you can catch them helping someone. Your choice, Todd." He comments, holding up his hands like Neil Degrasse Tyson. Then he mouths boom and flares out his hands. "Wait, how the hell does Drake know them?! Can I have my own thing just for fucking once?!" Yep, he just realized it.

Red Hood has posed:
Yes, Jason might actually worry about whatever revenge plot was brewing if it was Tim /and/ Damian involved, but as it was he was feeling pretty safe.

"Sure, fine, pizzas, these guys better be worth all this effort," Right like finding pizza in /New York/ was hard. The boom is met with a grin before there's an explosion of another sort. "Whoa, chill D, I dunno, I think he said one of them Donnie was on one of his video games?" he makes a face. "And hey you've got a dragon, I think next to that, knowing some ninjas isn't a big deal."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"First he cannot let go of Robin, then he...>tt<" Yeah, he's pissed.

"Donatello...the nerd. Makes sense. But fuck, if I needed another reason to punch Drake's face." Robin just lets out a sigh, sitting down on a convenient surface.

With Talia having left the mansion, and everything else, Damian's just been from one extreme to another lately. He hasn't even seen the Titans since Knightfall, they were left with instructions to contact him if they needed, but things must be slow out there.

Red Hood has posed:
Jason's brows raise suddenly as he perks up, "Wait, Tim still wants to be Robin?" he asks frowning. That was a sore subject for him as well, what with waking up from the dead to find Tim in his place. He'd only just stopped referring to Tim as 'The Replacement'.

Jason nods, "Tim is definitely punchable, I'm guessing his team is one of the other reasons you want to hit him?" he asks, though he's not blind to the situation at hand. He'd greeted the news of Talia's departure with a sigh of relief, there was /waaay/ too much potential for awkward reunions there, but he knew it had to have cut Damian deeply.

"Actually never mind, we don't need to dig too deep into it, but I get it," he says. "Sorry for not being around more to help with the Batmobile," his disapearance happening around the same time Talia left. "Dick got back and I figured it was better for everyone I was somewhere else, you know how he and I are."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"Red Robin? It is not hard to see he still wants to be Robin. Even I know I will have my time to move on, everyone moves on from Robin." He spoke clearly and more calmly, even if he was back to his normal angry self. "His team? He has a team?" First that Damian has heard of it, or rather, first time he cared to listen to anything about Drake.

Then the apology, Damian would normally take time to relish in one his brothers faults, but it did not feel right. Nor did he feel any rancor against Jason. "It is fine, everyone is busy." He looks off to the distance, both focusing entirely on one small detail on the wall, and not paying attention to anything other than his thoughts. "Fun, the two dead robins get along fine. The perfect ones get along fine. You ever just look back and think just how fucked up we are?"

Red Hood has posed:
"I just thought he was a big fan of family restaurants," Jason says, the quip flowing almost carlessly from his lips. Though there's a nod for the potential of unspoken intentions in Tim's choice of a code name. "But fuck him if he wants the name back, he can be Robin whenever you move on to whatever's next for you."

There's a little flinch about the team. Another time, he'd have dropped that little tidbit to stir the pot, but tonight it had been an honest slip. "Yeah, he's calling it the Outsiders," he says. There was more but he felt a little damage control would be needed.

"Totally not fine," Jason counters "I'm being a pussy avoiding Dick like that, so yeah, like I said, sorry," he says while not willing to duck his faults he's definitely eager to move on from the subject. Apologies didn't come easy to him and that he offered one at all spoke volumes.

"Well I wouldn't call them perfect," Jason says, though if he was honest that had always been his biggest complaint about both Tim and Dick, they were pretty much perfect. "And oh yeah," he Jason agrees about the latter part, "All the time, we're a real piece of work as a family, a couple of us have died," he nods to Damian at that. "Some of us have dated, we're all obsessives, we're all struggling for 'daddy' to notice us even if we know he probably won't, honestly the getting dressed up in costumes and punching people is the most normal thing about any of us."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian was still in introspective mode, but he gave a slow nod when Jason apologized again. "I don't know why he and I get along. By all means...I probably would have done something terrible to him before."

Damian hops up, brushing his hands off. "I should get back out there." He comments, let me know when you want to go to Brooklyn." He offers, looking to Jason with a much less angry face. Not happy, and not at peace, just less angry.

Red Hood has posed:
"Hah, I bet," Jason says of Damian having done something awful to Dick by now if he didn't like him. "It's one of those mysteries," he says with a shrug, though there's a hint of resentment for that easy rapport between Dick and Damian, it reminded him what he and Bruce had in better days.

Jason stands when Damian jumps down from his perch to get ready to go, "Yeah, I should probably remind my sectors I haven't gone anywhere," he says. "And for sure, you can tell me what sort of pizza they like."

The missing anger is noted, but Jason doesn't remark on it, he just claps Damian on the shoulder offering an awkward sort of half-hug. "Stay safe out there... actually scratch that, you're you," he says with a smile. "It's the crooks that have to worry."
