Date of Scene: 04 June 2020
Location: Security Center - X-Men Base
Synopsis: Scott and Jean break the news to Logan.
Cast of Characters: Cyclops, Phoenix, Wolverine

Cyclops has posed:
It's close to evening and Scott is currently within the security center of the X-Men's base, deep below the school. It's time to let the cat out of the bag to Logan, now that he is no longer off doing 'his own thing' from the last few days. He summoned Wolverine and Phoenix for a discussion, dressed in his blue and gold uniform, complete with red visor.

There is a few mugs set out for coffee, along with a steaming pot freshly brewed. He has reclaimed his: Best Teacher Ever mug, and is currently sipping on it. Overhead on the large screens he has several pieces of data up, a chronological history of Sabretooth's actions with the Brotherhood up to recent events.

With a click of his tongue against his teeth, he glances over towards Jean who is sitting next to him. "He's going to be mad." He says simply as they wait for Logan's arrival.

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey isn't in the same uniform, favoring dark pants and shirt with a cropped leather jacket in black and dark gold. She carries an odor of gunpowder and ozone around her, perhaps having just come from the practice range when Scott called.

"I told you he would." She murmurs as she leans forward to rest her elbows on the table, the corners of her mouth turned down into a frown. "I don't like this idea at all, having him here. What do we do when we fix a feral madman and turn him into a sane madman who's now in our basement?"

Wolverine has posed:
Logan was in his cabin when one of the school kids, whos name evaded him, showed to pass on a cryptic message from Scott. Logan has had a lot of surprises in the last few days. Now what's it going to be? With a grumble, he grabs a cigar and heads for the mansion.

He grumbles like the Grinch on Christmas all the way to the larger house. Upon reaching the house he evades the kids as much as possible, with a few only glancing him like he was Sasquatch roaming the halls.

Finally reaching the Security Center he is down to less than half of cigar until it burns out. "Okay so what is so damn impor... " It doesn't take long as he stops talking and sniffs the air. Almost like instinct there is a SNIKT! "What the fu..." again he stops in his tracks and looks to the duo. "You didn't..."

Cyclops has posed:
"Take a seat, Logan." Scott says as he motions to the seat across from them at the round table. He folds his hands in front of him, his brow furrowing. "I know this won't be your favorite conversation of the night." He glances upwards to the screen again, then back to him.

"We found Victor Creed running around the Long Island woods completely feral and he gutted several hikers. The authorities were called in but we arrived first. We were able to subdue him long enough and calm him down. He appeared to be in fear and he stated he was losing his mind and control over himself."

He pushes a button on the table, bringing up a screen of Victor's detention cell. "He is in one of our heavily enforced cell blocks equipped with a titanium and vibranium enhanced muzzle and gloves. We made sure that he agreed to these terms. No students will be allowed down there, including The New Mutant team." He shifts his jaw again. "Our plan is to have Jean and Betsy use their telepathic powers to try and figure out what is wrong, hopefully put him back into place, maybe even tweak a few things so he isn't a total murdering asshole, then we drop him off in the middle of no where without any memory of this happening."

"He doesn't know about that part yet."

Phoenix has posed:
"I suppose it says something if even he's afraid of himself, not that he'd say that in so many words." Jean sighs quietly as she pulls her hair over one shoulder, absently running fingers through it like a restless habit. "He wants help. I just don't know about this, Scott. Say we... fix him, must as I hate the term. He's still Sabertooth. I don't see him suddenly becoming grateful and wanting to put on a uniform. Then, to just let him go after? To do what, go kill more people, kill us? I'm just not seeing the end goal here outside of making sure there's nothing messing with him that could suddenly come at us."

She gives her head a slight shake and looks over to Logan. "I don't know your history with him, but you seem to know him. What's your take on this, Logan?"

Wolverine has posed:
Logan's face has turned into a full snarl. "We should just put him down like the monster he is!" By now Logan is pacing like a caged beast. His claws out as he fumes over the situation. He's angry. Angrier then most people have seen. "You don't get it Slim! He won't share a lick of kindness t' you, Bets, Jean, or anyone in this school. He'll just kill you all! Man, woman, and child. All of you!" Logan can't take anymore and starts to walk away. Where he's going is a dumb question.

Cyclops has posed:
"We know that, Logan. But he's a mutant, just like you, me and everyone else at this school. The Professor's dream is extended to /all/ mutants. Not only the ones that are assholes." He pushes himself upwards, clearing his throat. "He is being held captive in a state of the art detention center built for the likes of the Juggernaut. He won't even be able to use his claws. As soon as the work is done, we get rid of him. If for a moment he acts out of line, you can gut him and say you told me so. But until that happens, we should try and fix him."

"Do you remember when we all first met? You were wild, untamed and angry at the world. You were a danger as well, but we listened to you, we helped you. I'm not saying we will have the same results with Victor Creed, but we couldn't let him run around out there wild murdering people either. If SHIELD would have got ahold of him, what do you think would happen? They'd just find a 'use' for him."

He gives a motion back to the table. "Logan, please sit, so we can talk this out."

Phoenix has posed:
"No, no; he's not going to SHIELD." Jean says with a grimace and emphatic shake of her head. "I don't think he should go anyway except the surface of the sun, but--" She trails off with a low, frustrated noise. Of course he had to bring the Professor into this. She gives Scott a closer look and murmurs, "I just hope you know what you're doing with him. We really need to find a place off the school to hold him."

She looks towards Logan as he moves to leave, she begins to slip out of her chair and stand. "Logan, hey, wait up. We called you here to get your help with this, not just to tell you."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan stops in his tracks and retracts his claws. As he turns he sees Jean in front of him till his eyes raise and look to Scott. "I don't care. He's pure evil. I'm talking about the darkest parts of the Bible evil." He looks at Jean. "Go ahead Jeanie. Look in my head and see the things I've seen him do. Just be ready, it won't be pretty."

Cyclops has posed:
"She doesn't need to, we've seen him in action and what he is capable of." Scott says as he folds his arms over his chest. "You'd rather us just kill him after he pleaded with us for help? I don't think the X-Men are in the business of murder, especially their own kind. If Jean and Betsy has a chance to fixing him, maybe even helping him no longer be this wild murdering animal, isn't that worth it? We have three of the world's strongest telepaths under this roof and this may be our only chance to finally remove one of our enemies off the battlefield for good."

There is a heavy breath from the field leader. "Trust me, we didn't come to this decision lightly. I have agonized over this, but I know that this is what the Professor would want us to do. One chance, Logan. That's all we are asking."

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey looks taken aback by the offer. She knows how much Logan values his privacy regarding his past, so she's clearly regarding the statement with a small degree of shock. She walks around the table towards Logan to stand before the man, murmuring quietly, "If you're sure."

She looks towards Scott as he says she doesn't have to and points out to their leader, "Logan's seen more than we have and knows more about him. Some of that information may end up important, if it's something in his past that's causing this, and the more prepared I'll be in Creed's head. If he gets out, then it's your battlefield. Behind the eyes, it's mine."

Barring any hesitations on his part, she'll slowly bring up her hands to hang in the air just beyond the reach of touch and centered over either temple. "Just remember to breathe, okay? It's only me." Her eyes are fathomless green, sinking down and down without end. Her presence in Logan's mind is a rose-colored glow. It's like the sunrise over the lake, pinks and golds stretching out from a dark horizon.

Wolverine has posed:
Logan pushes the memories of Sabretooth to the top. What she sees, once past the clouds of other fragmented memories is pure violence, cruelty, and horror. Logan wasn't wrong about the man being a monster. And it's only been a small few that have come up against him and survived

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey sees the memories as a living book. They surround her, as fleeting as the thoughts come into and pass out of Logan's thoughts, but as realistic to her as if she had seen them in life. Surely some aren't ones he even wants to remember, while other broken memories she can only try to grasp before they fall away like dust.

Once she's seen what he wanted her to, Jean slowly lets her hands fall away and withdraws from his mind. "...I've not seeing hope that he can ever be more than what he is. But... Scott's right. If we don't offer the chance, then everything we say we fight for is a lie. If this fails, if he can't be brought back to sense or if we do and he's still that monster, then I think we're all in agreement he can't be let loose again. However that needs to happen."

Cyclops has posed:
"I'm not suggesting we will be successful, but if Victor is turning into an actual animal, I'd rather try our best to correct it now while we can, before he becomes nothing short of an unstopple, deranged murdering creature." Scott says as he rubs a hand along the bridge of his nose as he squeezes his eyes shut so not to leak any red lasers.

"Believe me when I say we know how important this is to you. You and him both have had horrible things happen to you through the Weapon X program, and whatever else they did that you may not remember. But I assure you. He takes one toe outside of our bubble of trust and he's all yours. I'll even help you kill him. We just can't let the students know. Some of them are too damn curious and 'helpful' for their own good."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan stares at the floor as he thinks. And boy oh boy he is NOT happy. He may never be after this. This moment feels like betrayal, plain and simple. For fuck's sake they're protecting HIM! HIM of all people! He doesn't care what anyone, especially Chuck, has to say about Creed. He knows the man. This is a mistake. As he looks up. "I guess it don't matter anymore." He starts "You asked me what you should do. And I told you." Logan says through clenched teeth. "But you wanna play like you can fix him. Fine." Logan turns and looks over his shoulder. "But as long as he's here..." he pauses. "I'm not." And those words drop like a mansion on him and anyone else around him. He doesn't stop this time as his cowboy boots echo through the hallway.

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey watches Logan turn and go out the door as her hands coil into fists at her side. She hisses something foul under her breath and jerks her head to look towards Scott. "I'm going against everything my guts wants to tell me on this because I trust you and I back you. I just *really* hope you're right, Scott. You go talk to Betsy, I'll handle this."

Then she too turns from the team's leader and jogs out after the retreating Canadian. Time to try and keep him from disappearing again.
