Synopsis: Spiral is up to no good in Mutant Town, trying to mess with the earth's leylines for some dangerous reason. Thankfully Polaris comes to save the day when things inevitably get way out of hand. Spiral claims she's up to something not totally terrible and offers to explain in more detail.
Cast of Characters: Spiral, Polaris

Spiral has posed:
Bushwick's bowling alley is host to a rather strange phenomena. Rather than competing bowling leagues, the run-down establishment is currently inhabited by an altogether different competition.

On one hand, a nearby leyline, itself a kind of disused conduit of earth's energy, is minding its own business doing what it does. It's running like an invisible subway or secret backroad just a block away. But something major is heaving on it, metaphysically trying to reroute the darn thing and pull it so it crossed ~over~ the old bowling alley. Like someone trying to bend a steel girder, it's not easy, and it naturally resists.

Ball lightning erupts over the old unpowered sign for the building, briefly lighting it in a shower of sparks before blowing out every single bulb and neon tube. Weather patterns above the building swirl chaotically, patterns troubled and twisted attemping to create mini-twisters and micro-bursts. It's a gratuitous kind of advertisment of something bad going down, with all sorts of visible (and more accurate invisible to most Muggles) signs pointed to that location. Those sensitive to the bad mojo in the air are seeking shelter and avoiding the weirdness.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane has moved in with Havok in Mutant Town as of late, only occasionally checking in with the Xmen or the residents of Genosha, currently under her father's rule. Trying to keep a mostly low profile and getting back to her geologist roots, she has not forgotten her fellow mutants and occasionally does a patrol in town, keeping an eye out for trouble in her familiar green costume.

So it comes as no surprise that she is first on the scene of the disturbed bowling alley, emerald eyes narrowed as she peers around for the source of the magnetic disturbance, using her unique sight to try and determine the source of this strange disturbance.
Spiral has posed:
To unique senses, such as Polaris, a plethora of information and detail reveals itself like a supplicant obeying a ruler. A riot of energy, magical and mystical, combines into an unhappy marriage. This union is tenuous, weaved by a figure within the bowling alley who seems to be in constant motion. It's totally a dance of sorts, and the female performing it may or may not be easily recognizable from the silhouette as she weaves between arcs of electricity and sorcerous energies. Each of her six arms moves in concert, coercing and bullying in differing measures at the leyline. Like the leyline was a gigantic cobra of power that doesn't easily obey according to the unnatural electromagnetic powers that Spiral insists upon it.

While Spiral circles the scintilating whirlpool that tries to suck the leyline and bend it into it, six minions create a spasmotic perimeter a number of yards further out. They are ~not~ doing well. Even from this distance, the smell of burning flesh and metal creates a hell of a stink, and they gyrate in place not according to any voluntary dance. They jerk and twitch unable to either help control the power in the area, or protect themselves from the exposure.

"Worthless and weak!" Spiral's voice fights to be heard over a howl of wind that whips at her hair, circling, swaying, orbiting the phenomena that looks like...yep...any minute now things are going to go critical. "Keep it together! It's almost here! Give everything you've got!" Like someone continually shaking a can of coke, the container bulging and bulging...
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane frowns and wastes no time in entering the building. There could be innocents in there but more than that, ut doesn't take much for her to figure out what's going on. "Spirql! Stop this madness at once! Your magic is disrupting the planet's ley lines! You could hurt people!" emerald eyes flare angrily, already forming glowing orbs of electromagnetic energy in each hand. Polaris isn't known for her patience.
Spiral has posed:
The building makes tortured sounds as it tries to curl inwards, and then outwards, like a flower's petals reacting to sunlight. The superstructure of the place not wanting to dance to Spiral's tune as well.

The minions of the madwoman trying to mess with the leyline go to their knees or start to collapse under the terrible strain. Their half-mechanical bodies possessing some small protection, but obvious not enough. Some sound like pinball machines going Tilt. This infuriates Spiral further, but before she can lash out with more hateful spittle speckled words, Polaris is on the scene.

Spiral's attempts falter moreso, her grip on the leyline, such as it was, slipping from her fingers further. There's a potential backlash, like a rubber band snapping as her fingertips lose their grips, one by one. "NOooooooooooOOO!" she screeches, not up to the challenge. "To hell with them!"

It's happening, the skid towards disaster, but perhaps a refined touch can put things back after Spiral's devil-may-care techno-heresy. If no one does, the whole block could become a new kind of ground zero. Spiral tries to disengage herself from this, realizing too late she's gone too far, and her mistakes are ~sticky~. Her eyes widen in growing alarm, anger being replaced by fear.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane glowers at Spiral, emerald eyes flashing with anger. She gave her warning, now is the time for action. She snarls, aiming a green bolt of electromagnetic energy towards two of the minions, trying to stop them from whatever they are doing. "I said stop!" she yells, "You are hurting the planet!"

She peers around at the imbalances in the ley lines, drawing upon her own energy reserves, pouring it into the wounds, trying to restore balance and order. But this may take a while, a little focus, leading her wide open to attack while she does so.
Spiral has posed:
The green bolt takes both of the half-mech minions squarely, overloading them and rendering them unconscious or off-line. They crash on their faces, twitching with leftover energy, their contributions to whatever ritual this was made null. The other minions still conscious try to back away and seek cover, giving up and finding some manner of self-perservation within their brains or programming.

Spiral dances around one terrible lash of energy, it coming like a whip towards head and heels which she must leap and dodge between. These tendrils splintering from the leyline like hungry tongues. But Polaris intervenes, and lends a healing factor rather than a dominating one. Her efforts start to put back things made disarray. It probably saves Spiral's wretched life.

Spiral, panting and nearly foaming at the mouth, is able to stop dancing for her life, weaving back and forth, moving closer to Polaris' position as she prevents a disaster.

"This planet is a big baby then!" she scowls, waving her arms to ward off the last erratic attacks coming her way. She squints, and then really looks over Polaris. Watching, observing, her lips pursing in a way that's calculating and even a little bit impressed.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane narrows her eyes, focusing most of her attention on the damaged ley lines and mostly ignoring Spirals rants and raves. For the moment. It's a trying task, somewhat akin to minor electromagnetic surgery or the the like. She is not as experienced as her father, so her patching up is less tidy and refined, but it will do the job.

Finally, once the worst is dealt will, she focuses her fury back towards Spiral, clenching her hands in to fists ad she summons more electromagnetic bolts. She hovers a few feet in the air, looming over the other woman. "Just what do you think you were hoping to accomplish here? Talk fast before I lose my patience!" she threatens, barely keeping her temper in control.
Spiral has posed:
The emotion displayed by the other woman seems to improve Spiral's own mood considerably. She lifts her chin and arranges her arms in an array of positions. Like some statue of Kali, bereft of weapons, though fingers arched into different gestures. She's never completely still. "Polaris!" Her smile widens and her teeth flash.

Above the bowling alley, the weather patterns are starting to cool and dissipate. The spear of disturbance unraveling and electrical mayhem fading like a bad dream.

Spiral makes a beckoning gesture with two of her hands. "The Mistress of Magnetism herself." She offers a coy bow with her head still upraised, eyes locked on. "If I had had ~proper~ assistance, I would have slapped an old fat toad across the face and stolen something precious from him in the process. But clearly, I should have consulted an expert first. A beautiful-when-angry expert. Why not come down to earth, oh Angel above?"
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane arches a brow, emerald eyes narrowed suspiciously upon the multiple armed woman. "Now why would I help someone like you? After the mayhem you just caused?! Or have you not realized by now that it is dangerous and damaging to the planet to twist the earth's leylines to your own leisure and pleasure?" she does not look amused, nor flattered in the least.
Spiral has posed:
Spiral's grin remains, peering up past her silver brows. "Why, to prevent it from ever happening this way again?" she purrs.

A pair of arms cross behind her head like she was taking in the sun at the beach, a pair hang on her hips and a pair gestures to either side. "If the planet didn't want someone messing with its panty lines, it shouldn't be flashing them so much." she coos. "But seriously, Polaris, who is the greater enemy...innocent, misjudged me, or a bloated pan-dimensional monster? Wouldn't it be worth it, to foil the plans of an evil monster, if it means providing a little assistance to someone that's far less a threat? The enemy of your enemy...is your friend, could be a Pal even." She bats her eyelashes.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane doesn't seem moved in the least, hands still clenched and glowing green as if she is still planning on blasting her to oblivion any second. "That depends..What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? I do *not* like repeating myself, so you had better quit beating around the bush before I lose patience and decide to blast you to oblivion!"
Spiral has posed:
"Nothing short of making sure Mojo can never manipulate me or anyone else on this planet ever again." Spiral offers with sharp enunciation. Spiral raises her eyebrows, allowing for a pregnant pause to let that sink in. The opportunties, if true, or pitfalls if it's all a lie.

Spiral sucks in air past her teeth and gestures to the bowling alley and the aftermath. "But this isn't the best place, because soon they'll be sirens and people snooping even with the situation having passed. Sooooo..." she trails off. "A drink someplace? Or should we part ways?" She wiggles her fingers.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane listens carefully, thoughtfully to what she has to say. After a moment's thought she lowers her arms and extinguishes the glowing green orbs. "So, you are trying to find a way to be free of Mojo? What made you change your mind? I thought you willingly worked for him.." but then again Spiral has always been a confused, complicated case. "I'm willing to hear you out, if only to keep you out of trouble.."
Spiral has posed:
Spiral dusts off a pair of palms like they're covered in dust. "Doesn't everyone dream of getting out from under the thumb of someone?" She gestures to imaginary people to the left and right. "An old boss you're tired of overworking you. A father that you have to live in the shadow of..." She slides her eyes back to Lorna.

"I'll arrange for an Uber, one moment." A pair of arms work at opening a far less destructive portal. "Free of charge to somewhere with better ambience."
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane sighs, nodding in agreement, "Of course, no one wants to be anyone's slave if they can help it. I hope this is a new leaf for you and not just some elaborate plot, Spiral, but I'm willing to hear you out." And then there's the portal which she eyes warily, tilting her head, "And where are we going?"
