Cast of Characters: Wolverine, Rogue

Wolverine has posed:
Rogue gets a text from Logan, "I hate stakeouts sometimes. Kind of boring," it's about six or seven o'clock at night. He's been texting her on and off all day. One thing he will make a point of saying, "The movies don't lie, sometimes you're stuck doing this for hours," and Logan did take a car from the garage.

He settles in his seat as the time continues to pass. He's happy food was with him. All in all, a slooooow day for him.

Logan did tell her he was staking out another cafe. Just one they were rumored to haunt. Logan's just not sure if it's as customers, "protectors" or both. Ocean blue eyes just try leave the cafe aside from a text to Rogue.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue has been pacing the cabin a bit, knowing Logan is out staking a cafe and that he can take care of himself, but still worried all the same. She reads his texts and gives a little smile. "Well. At least you have me to text to keep you kind of company." She texts in response. Then there's another that comes just after. "You doing okay overall? Got enough food and such?" Perhaps just giving them a reason to keep a conversation going.

Though she's also trying to keep herself sane. She won't sleep tonight, that's for certain. So she's got a few snacks picked out and a couple movies set up to watch while curling up on the couch with a blanket, drinks and such to bide her time between texts.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan knows Rogue is a little restless on this one. The group rattled her a bit. He knows she's still rattled. So, he'll take a quick photo of his food, drink and that's the only thing with him really. Logan can't afford to miss something and texting is a risk. However, it keeps him sane.

The sun is still high, but it is thinking about going down. A nice orange washes over the area.

"Got them," is what the text says. "Going to leave after they go." Logan doesn't want to draw attention to himself. He waits for the replies.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue is in the middle of the first rom-com when that particular text comes through. When she reads it, she lets out a soft sigh and then nods her head - even if he can't see her. "Okay love. Following them or coming home?" Cause stakeouts usually mean following the target(s) to where they go right? "Either way. Be safe. I love you." Is sent right after before she takes a drink and eats some more of her snacks. It will be torture until she knows he's safe again.
Wolverine has posed:
"Following," he sees the "I love you" and then it's followed up with "I love you, too." However, that's the last text. Time continues to stretch and stretch. Ticking by. Hour after hour. It's pushing toward midnight before there's a noise at the door. A simple "Thnk!" All doors at Xavier's have it. A simple note attached to each. A weird set of numbers. It may take some a moment, but they're coordinates. A place for someone to go.
Rogue has posed:
There was likely a moment or few when Rogue was finally getting to a point of drifting off until that sudden 'Thnk' sound pulls her right out of any type of tired she might have been. Swallowing, she stands and walks to the door, finding that note with the weird numbers and it does take her a bit to figure it out - but not much longer than usual as she flies - so sometimes coordinates are a thing she uses.

However, panic sets in and she picks up her phone to text Logan. "Logan? Are you alright?" While then using her phone to put the coordinates into her mapping app.
Wolverine has posed:
The text doesn't even go on read. Just a simple "Sent" notification on her end. No one has read them.

The cooridnates take anyone that finds them to a place in New York state. It's not too terribly far. A simple forest clearing. The easiest place to land, but unfortunately, that's not the spot. Just something incredibly close.

Searching about, someone will eventually find it. A large Saint Andrew's cross stands proudly. The person tied to it, not some much.

Logan's body is slumped over. Barbed wire digs into his wrists and ankles. A small trickle of blood along the wounds. A closer look at him and people will see the horrible details. His lips are purple. The blood veins in that area are purple and snake out. His fingers and toes are red, discolored, and the a similar purple color spreads upward in his arms and legs. Somehow, he's still breathing.

Thankfully the healing factor will do the trick, but the question is how long? Someone seriously put it through a stress test tonight.

His breathing slow, labored, but there. And he's complete deadweight to anyone right now.
Rogue has posed:
With the fact that she did not receive a text back, and the coordinates were easy enough to follow - Rogue does what she knows to do best even if it's not the smartest idea. She flies to where the directions take her and then she lands but when she finds nothing at first, a bit of panic sets in.

There's a look around, a shift in this direction or that one before she notices the cross - what's more - she notices who is against the cross and the sight makes her stomach drop. "Logan!" She can't help but cry out his name, rushing to the cross itself only to notice that he's bound by barbed wire, slumped and likely unresponsive. Though she also notices he's still breathing and there's a quick run of calculations in her mind before she makes a decision.

She doesn't have wire cutters, but she has her strength and while no healing factor - a few cuts against her skin won't bother her. She just needs to free the man on the cross and get him back to the mansion so he can rest and heal. "It's okay...we'll get you home..."
Wolverine has posed:
Logan has never felt this heavy in her arms. He's dead weight right now and that's saying something. It may not slow Rogue down, but she'll notice it. How it feels different. Like he's there, but not at the same time.

When they make it to the mansion, he'll be quickly rushed to their equivilant to an ICU. And it takes a good while before anyone approaches Rogue.

"He was poisoned, heavily. Enough to take down one elephant, at minimum. Maybe a small herd," one of the techs say. "It's a matter of putting antidote in him, trying to drain what we can, put new blood in him and wait. The healing ability is working, but someone pushed it into over time. Whoever did this wanted him incapacitated at minimum."

And they will allow Rogue to see him. Logan passed out with an oxygen mask on. Various IVs, blood bags and other things going into him. A few to drain things -out- of him. The breathing is a little easier than when she first grabbed him. A true sign he'll be up and about, eventually.
Rogue has posed:
Poisoned. That explains a bit. Rogue nods to the tech, thanking them for the update under her breath. Did she take time to go remove every note around the mansion? Likely. She saw at least one when she got Logan here and she's not about to have others going to that site for no reason now. Except. She has a reason. A big one.

It's laying in the medical bed with all sorts of tubes and an oxygen mask and she's...pissed.

He'll heal. That's fair. He's got help and he's not going to die. Good enough for her. She walks to his bedside and gives him one kiss on the forehead, a squeeze against his hand or arm where she can and a whisper, "I'm going to end this." Before she turns and walks out the medical lab, goes to her room to change into her X-Force suit. It's black, with a red X in a gray circle. Her hair gets tied up into a tight ponytail, she puts on gloves - the whole nine.

Then she leaves the mansion and flies back to where she found Logan. Landing, looking around again. "I know you're still here! You know I took him! Come out and face me like the little punk-shits you are instead of being pussy-assed puppies with your tails between your legs!"
Wolverine has posed:
Logan's hand will slowly try to clench around her hand. He's responsive a littel bit. That's another good sign.

And nothing is there when she lands. Just the cross that waits for her. Barbed wire on the ground and different parts of the cross itself. The night is still and that leaves Rogue alone with her anger.
Rogue has posed:
Nothing. No one. Crickets don't even chirp in the woods. There's just the cross that she stands in front of, the barbed wire she pulled apart with her bare hands pooled around her feet. She seethes. Breathing hard because - well - it's the only thing she can do at this time. Except something inside her snaps a bit more and she goes at the cross like a mad-woman. She kicks it, rips it, breaks it, until it is nothing but shards of wood and reinforced pieces scattered on the ground around her.

When she's done, everything wells up inside her again. The words spoken, the way Logan tried to calm her down only to get substantially hurt in the process. All because of her. The monster. The outcast. The weirdo.

Eventually she falls to her knees and begins to sob - with nothing and no one around to comfort her.
