- Wonder Woman has posed:
It had been quite some time since Diana had last seen Wanda. The previous year had intentions of its own; intentions that pulled the two toward different areas of need and focus. Still, it's not ideal to get so caught up in one's obligations while neglecting the social connections that make life worth living.
So it is that Diana invited Wanda to catch up, with no other obligations. Just something good to drink and nibble on and conversation at the beginning of a new year.
Seated in a booth near one of the shop's windows, Diana looks out at the busy streets of Manhattan beyond. She's dressed casually - street clothes rather than her iconic armor. She isn't trying to be noticed today. Just a warm blue sweater and faded jeans with hiking boots. Her hair has been pulled back into a pony tail but for a few strands falling from her temples to frame her face. Frameless glasses with a subtle blue tint to the lenses are perched on the slender bridge of her nose.
- Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda steps into the cozy, bustling shop, pausing for a brief moment to let the warmth of the interior shake off the chill of the Manhattan winter. She spots Diana immediately?a comforting presence dressed in a soft blue sweater, glasses perched neatly on her nose. A small smile curves on Wanda?s lips as she makes her way over, weaving through a scattering of tables and patrons.
Her own attire is equally laid-back: a maroon hoodie layered over a simple gray T-shirt, paired with worn-in jeans and comfortable sneakers. She settles into the booth across from Diana, setting her phone aside before speaking.
?Diana,? Wanda greets with genuine warmth, leaning in slightly. ?Thank you for inviting me. It?s really good to see you again.?
She eases back against the seat, letting her shoulders relax. ?I hope I?m not too late. How have you been?? she asks, voice soft with concern and interest, her gaze searching Diana?s face.

Turning as Wanda arrives and moves to the table, Diana offers a warm smile. "Hello Wanda. It's good to see you again." Shaking her head, she reassures, "You're not late at all. I just arrived a little early to be sure we could get a booth" she admits sheepishly.
"I have been well thank you. The holiday season is always frenetic, with so many different holidays and beliefs to be shared and honored. I love this time of year but it is good to finally be able to return to normal activities for a while."
Tilting her head curiously she smiles, "You look lovely as always. Have you been well?"
- Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda slides into the booth opposite Diana, setting her bag beside her. A warm smile lights her features. ?It?s wonderful to see you too,? she says, her tone genuinely affectionate. ?I?ve been?busy in my own little corner of the world, I guess. After everything that happened last year, I decided to focus on smaller, everyday things. I?ve been helping out at a local community center?teaching craft workshops and quietly offering a little magic behind the scenes for repairs when things break down,? she adds with a light laugh.
She takes a moment to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. ?It?s been surprisingly peaceful, though. I?m not used to so much quiet,? Wanda admits with a slight shrug. ?Part of me keeps expecting something big to happen at any moment. But I am glad for the change of pace. It feels good to just?take a deep breath for once. No looming threat to handle?or at least none that I?ve heard about.?
Wanda cants her head, returning Diana?s earlier smile. ?And that?s why I?m so happy you reached out. It feels like I?m finally in a place where I can actually enjoy a bit of normalcy without worrying about the next crisis on the horizon.?

Diana Prince smiles as Wanda talks of helping more locally. "That is a very good plan. It is so easy to be pulled away to help with matters affecting the whole planet, all of humanity. It is more difficult to remember to remain grounded and connected with the very things that make humanity so amazing to begin with. It is really a mutually beneficial thing to do. For us and for our neighbors. It helps us put a face to those we are all seeking to aid, and helps them realize we really are there for them."
"I am thankful that your holidays were largely peaceful. We all know just how often that is not the case."
- Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda waves down a passing server with a polite smile. "Could I get a cup of chamomile tea, please?" she requests, then turns her attention back to Diana, a slight grin tugging at her lips.
"You have a point," she begins, nodding to Diana's sentiment about staying grounded. "It really does help to see the everyday joy and struggles people go through. It reminds me of why I started doing what I do in the first place."
She chuckles lightly. "As for the holidays... well, if we're talking about how peaceful it was, I'd say it felt more like a skirmish with Darkseid than a relaxing season." Her expression softens with wry amusement. "I love my family and friends, but every year they manage to wind each other up. My brother Pietro, especially---somehow he's always at the center of all that chaos." Wanda shakes her head with a fond exasperation. "Don't get me wrong, I appreciate how special the holidays can be, but I'm honestly relieved they're over. Now I can get back to the quieter things---like dropping in on community centers and, of course, having some downtime with friends."
- Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince laughs softly and nods. "Yes. I understand that sentiment. It is not unlike that in some ways with my sisters. A little wine, a playful challenge or two, and you would be sure you have stepped into the middle of a no holds barred wrestling event. Only with more broken furniture" she adds with a hint of grim irony. "And gods help you if your mother steps in.." her eyes sparkle with mirth but there is much truth to her statement.
As the server comes by, Diana also makes a request. "May I have an espresso, please? Just a little cream on the side? Thank you."
Looking back she smiles. "Yes. The holidays are always something like that. But to be with family and friends, as you say, is always special."
- Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda laughs softly, eyes bright with amusement. "I know exactly what you mean---wine or not, some holiday gatherings can feel like wrestling matches. And with Amazons...well, I can only imagine how quickly one too many playful challenges might get out of hand." She takes a moment to slide her cup of tea closer, nodding in appreciation as the server sets it down.
Sipping her tea, Wanda leans forward, clearly intrigued. "But you know, the idea of an entire celebration full of strong, capable women sounds so fascinating---and empowering. I'd love to see that kind of camaraderie firsthand. The solidarity among you must be truly inspiring." She offers Diana a warm, curious smile, as though quietly hoping to hear more about Amazonian traditions.
- Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince nods with the look of experience in her eyes. "You have no idea..." so much broken furniture. Pausing herself as the drinks are delivered, she smiles to the server, "Thank you very much." Pouring some of the cream into her cup, she takes a small sip.
"There are always some measure of disagreements happening. Just as will any society. Personalities can always clash. But we have the blessing of insightful wisdom and a patient Queen. Usually" she jokes.
"I can imagine the sorts of similar antics that happen at the Institute. Given all of your sinularly talented peers, there" she teases.
Sipping again at her cup, she smiles. "We allow for the freedom to worship and celebrate as each feels they should. Most of the Amazons celebrate Winter Solstice. However some have chosen to explore other holidays and religions. It can make for quite the celebration, I must admit."
- Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda nods thoughtfully, settling her cup back onto its saucer. "Actually, your mention of Winter Solstice reminds me of a celebration we witches often observe: Yule. It's very much tied to nature's cycles and the idea of renewal in the darkest time of the year. When I was learning under Agatha Harkness, we always marked Yule together. It was...well, somber in some ways---very introspective---but also comforting, knowing we were honoring something ancient and bigger than ourselves."
She lifts her shoulders in a small shrug. "This year, I ended up observing it on my own. Most of the community I usually gather with had other obligations. So, the whole thing felt a bit...lonely, I suppose. But, like you said, it's important to respect each person's path, no matter how different."
Just then, Wanda's phone buzzes, drawing her attention. A slight frown crosses her features as she reads the alert. She sighs, slipping the device back into her pocket. "I'm sorry, Diana, but I have to run. Something's come up that needs my immediate attention." She stands, offering an apologetic, half-smile. "Thank you for inviting me, though. Let's catch up again soon."
- Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince smiles and nods. "I wish I had known you were alone for the holiday. I would have invited you to join us at the embassy. Perhaps next winter if needed."
Falling silent as Wanda's phone rings, she nods. "Of course. It was very good to see you again, Wanda. Have a blessed day. We will see each other again soon, I am certain." Remaining at the table to finish her drink, she smiles and watches Wanda disappear from the view of the windows, then gestures to the server that she'd like to pay their tab when possible.
