- Wolverine has posed:
Club Evolution, a seemingly safe bastion for mutants. It's the usual fair of lights, sound, dark corners, drinks and everything else. The only few differences tonight are the people and the fact it's Karoekee night for those willing to take the plunge.
Standing on the stange is a young man in black jeans, a leather vest a white shirt and hair with a lot of product in it. "Enjoy the Silence," by Depeche Mode begins to play. That's when the young man approaches the microphone. And when he begins, those are some decent vocals. Everyone can hear him. Eyes start to turn toward him as the song continues.
When those eyes are on him, that's when the unseen begins to work. There's plenty of instrumentals to focus. The lyrics begin again and for some reason he sounds -better-.
That's when those with some training in mental attacks, and defense, particularly psychic would feel a familiar ping. Something on the mind, like a presence knocking. While this feels a little different, the methodology is the same. One of the few times magic, and mutation, are closely related.
The singer seems to be a male siren trying to enthrall the club. That would leave the recipients at the mercy unless something may slow down their mental take over.
At least tonight isn't boring.
- Jubilee has posed:
The music is what first catches Jubilee, who is sitting at the bar enjoying a drink and what is supposed to be a night of relaxation and having fun. As the vocals begin, she nods along, enjoying the one who's singing. Her gaze, like the others, shift over to the stage to watch the man as he continues the performance. While she's not trained in mental attacks, there's something in the air that goes a little thick, and causes her to begin looking around the room.
Something isn't right, but she can't put her fingers on it. Her gaze shifts back to the stage and then back to her drink. No, it's not going to be a boring night, and she's going through her mental checklist to see how many boxes of certain things the can tick.
Pulling out her phone, she unlocks it and sends a text to Logan. <<Might be something happening at Club Evo. Can you come?>>
Getting that out at least while she still has most her senses...but damn if that mental barrier isn't breaking fast.
- Wolverine has posed:
<<Be right there.>> Logan responds as he is actually not far from the place. He was just drinking ina nother part. Although, it will still take him afew moments. <<What kind of trouble?>>
Logan's still moving quickly to the place. That leaves Jubilee, and the others, looking toward their captivating Osirus. Some look glazed over as they are already succumbing to their sinister singer. Others are fighting it a little here and there. Few are fighting it tooth and nail.
That leaves Jubilee to figure it out. Although one thing she could put together is this attack is somehow working in conjuction with the shots. She would have to think fast.
- Jubilee has posed:
<<Singer. Possible siren. Alcohol and music.>> Jubilee manages to type back to Logan before she slides her phone back into her pocket and then she stands and looks around one last time.
In a thought, she flicks her fingers out, letting motes of light begin to fill the air and then she sets them to begin sparkling in front of everyone. Including the singer. As this happens, she heads for the stage itself, putting more and more flashy lights in front of the singer's eyes. "Everybody stop drinking!" She cries out, and since she's in her signature pink shirt, blue shorts and yellow jacket - many might recognize her as fellow mutant and member of the X-Men Jubilee - which may give her some credit to follow what she's saying.
Getting to the stage she stands there looking up at the man. "And you. Stop singing. Or you'll get more than flashy lights in your eyes..."
- Wolverine has posed:
That first spark of light causes the song to falter. Jubilee feels that pressure lift off her mind for a moment. It's the absolute proof that the attack is linked with the singing.
However, that flash of light a second time doesn't stop him. He'll resume singing despite being unable to sing. Even as she threatens he tries to push his power upon her. That familiar knock on the mind. Although more people may be aware of what's happening. Plus, that's when someone slips inside and moves to the stage. He might slow when the words begin, but Jubilee will recognize the haircut!
- Jubilee has posed:
"You really think you could take on a pack of mutants all on your lonesome like you're some hot shit? Sounds more like you're yesterday's garbage." Jubilee speaks, even as she gets that mental knock again. No no, buddy. Not this time.
The familiar haircut beside her gets a glance and then she snaps her fingers before wiggling them again. SOme of those motes of light in front of Osirus begin to pop. Like small flashbang granades. "More where that came from... you either stop or we stop you... Make your choice."
- Wolverine has posed:
Logan evenutally makes it to the stage. Then those two flashes, "BOOM!" "BOOM!" The first one may not have rattled him, but the second one does. Breathing out, the would be singer is knocked down trying to figure out a new plan. He didn't expect someone -as- defiant. He'll flick his hand a lance of yellow energy comes out. It seems he has a few other powers up his sleve, but Jubilee can see something. She can tell when the opposition is on the ropes. Shots like that are from those bashed about a little bit. She could probably go in for the metaphorical kill.
- Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee jumps onto the stage as she sees that lance of yellow energy come out. She's quick to bring up another few motes of light and send them towards the man who's trying to play all the cards in his book of tricks. "This isn't how this goes, man..." Each mote explodes, flashing more and more at the singer but then there's another. This one is a concentrated ball of energy. Kinetic perhaps? Who knows. This floats above the man's head.
"I'm not going to kill you, but I will make you think twice about coming here again..." She says this, somehow air picking up around her, causing her jacket to flail madly and her eyes go milky white. "Don't make me ask a third time. There won't be one."
- Wolverine has posed:
Jubilee's powers cause this lead singer to back off. He tries to slink off stage. Maybe in another timeline he would have, but not this one. Sparks, different from her own, create a trail in an oval shape. There's a hole in reality where someone wearing a red and orange robe steps out. "We've been looking for this one. He has an artifact he shouldn't," the robed man grabs the singer's shoulders.
"I will tell my superiors of your efforts," he inclines his head and drags the singer off stage. Jubilee and Logan could launch through. The robed man seems to be in some sort of simple wooden cabin. However, the time of day is clearly different. Bits of sunlight touch different parts of the cabin. Darkness has consumed New York. Clearly, this is some kind of portal? Reality rift? Something.
Either way the opening will quickly closed when the singer is dragged off. It's just a question of which side the X-Men stay on.
- Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee is definitely NOT following the man through the portal. Not touching that one with a ten foot pole. If the Kamar Taj can handle the man so be it. Jubilee watches as the portal closes and then she takes a breath before looking to Logan. "Well... I thought I would need your help... mostly because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to break out of it before I got too drawn in..."
Yet she did manage it, and as she turns to the crowd, she winces and wiggles her fingers again to make all the other motes of light simply fade away. "Sorry.. might take your eyes a few minutes to adjust back...but if you were focusing on the light, you weren't focusing on the singing..." She explains this and then hops off the stage to walk back towards the bar. Looking back over her shoulder one time to say, "I'm at least going to finish my drink..."
- Wolverine has posed:
Logan will follow off the stage. That's when the club will end the Karokee portion of the night. Music will kick back on. Some people leav.e Some will stay. A few that stay suddenly send a few free drinks Jubilee's way. Others want photos with a hero.
The sudden popularity of Jubilee tonight causes Logan to stand off to the side a little. To let the younger mutant have her moment in the sun. He will order a beer and pass the time enjoying the drink.
- Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee isn't use to the fame, really, but she's young enough that she soaks it up like a sponge. Flashing signs in the pictures, though some of the drinks get discreetly redirected to others because she's not here to get drunk - just a little buzzed. Of course, she also notices how Logan is off to the sidelines, letting her have this moment. Though she tries to make it as quick as she can. It doesn't really stop for a good few minutes though until the bartender finally tries to usher most the crowd away.
- Wolverine has posed:
Logan just sits at the bar working on his drink. "It's yer moment darlin'," he says honestly. And so he's in no rush to end it. "You deserve it," and he gives her a smile. "At least ya didn't lie to me to get me to a club," he teases just trying to cut through any tension of the day with a little bit of humor. Well, his type of humor anyway.
- Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee raises a brow and shoots a -look- towards Logan. "I would never. I know you don't like public places like this..." She offers to him and then is asked for a couple more pictures. Just as much as this is her moment, it was getting pretty old a bit fast. None the less, she manages to finish her first drink and a second one that was ordered for her. Someone's going to write about this in tomorrow's edition of Mutant Daily.
- Wolverine has posed:
"I'd come here if someone asked me. I've been here before," Logan ssays just leaving that in the air for a moment or two. "How are the drinks n' what was on the menu?" he's curiosu what she was drinking tonight. "Proud of how ya handled that," he says with a nod.
- Jubilee has posed:
"Drinks are good. I'm drinking raspberry mojito." Which shouldn't come as a shock since raspberries are one of her favorite fruits. The crowd finally disperses and then she looks back over to Logan, flushing a little. "I just...did what I felt like I had to do. What I could do. To help everyone..."
- Wolverine has posed:
It's not a shock because Jubilee likes fruity crinks. Plus, he knows about a love of reaspberries. Then he nods. "That's what ya should do," Logan gives a nod and holds up his beer just a little bit for her. A small toast that's more of a nod of respect. He really is proud.
- Jubilee has posed:
It only goes so far, however. Now that things calm down and she's done with her drinks, Jubilee will put some cash on top of the bar - plenty to cover her one drink and a generous tip. One more glance is given to Logan as he raises his beer to her in a small toast and then she's out of her seat and leaving the club like she just got the worst news of her life.
