And because of the "unusual" nature of the dead people. The place itself is simple. It's a furniture store. Nothing that would seem to be a high-priority target to rob, or anything like that. But instead, the police got their call because there's a corpse in every single piece of the furniture that could be "relaxed" in. Beds have dead people in sleeping positions. Bigger chairs have them slumped back and over as if reclining. The beat cops have the place cordoned off, but it's up to the detectives to figure it out.<br> <br>

Amulets and charms are sorted through, some pocketed, some left hanging where they are. Handgun magazines in racks, labelled in garish vermillion, are sorted through and a half-dozen are removed and secreted on her person. A quick flip through her rice paper pad in her pocket to double-check its contents. Then it's off to the races, stopping only to pick up a large tea, black as midnight, thick like oil.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"What have we got here?" she asks one of the shakey new cops, pale against his dark uniform.<br> <br>
