A Dragon At Mount Sinai
Date of Scene: 15 October 2019
Location: Mount Sinai
Synopsis: Morrigan meets Richard Dragon who is helping out with Holistics now at Mount Sinai.
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Dragon

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Doctor Morrigan MacIntyre rarely worked days, but, she was in for the day doing a tour for some supporters and people that wanted to get in good with the hospital. She's dressed nicely in a purple business dress and a silver knot work pendant at her throat. She's on break from showing people around and currently hiding in the cafeteria and looking off at what is on the menu for an early dinner.

The woman's weird violet gaze is going over the menu...and she's probably not paying much attention to her surroundings.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon doesn't generally work in public establishments, but with the more frequent use of holistic medicine even in a more public way some people still call him for a consulence or two from time to time. And that is exactly the reason for his presence today at the Mount Sinai, a place where without a degree in medicine he would never be able to work but, still, it is a wonder what knowing the right people can do! So it is that Richard Dragon, not a doctor but certainly a healer, has just finished seeing to a patient and is heading to get a definitely deserved coffee.
Dressed in a simple pair of jeans and a white pressed shirt, a badge is attached to the left breast pocket of the shirt itself identifying him as external personnel for the day. Even if his clothes don't manage to perfectly hide the body of a warrior, such at odd with a medical profession, he still exudes an aura of serenity which probably would be believable in such a place, and so it is quietly that he moves towards the counter, raising his eyes to the large menu to consider the various things on offer. Still, quite undecided on what to take, he shifts his calm gaze on Morrigan who is standing at his side, to ask "would you have any suggestions?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look over the menus again. So many choices. So little time. She doesn't notice Richard until he's speaking and the woman startles a bit. "Jesus..." she whispers. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were there." she tells him in a sheepish tone. "The roast beef is good. Don't get the egg salad." she chuckles to that. Then she gives him a look over, her eyes going back to his after that, "You are either a visitor or new to the hospital, I'd remember hair like that anywhere." she admits.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon smiles reassuringly at the startling, and nods understandingly at the suggestion "thanks! I will probably get a roast beef then. And avoid the egg salad, at all costs" he then lowers his eyes for a moment on his badge, then raises them again on Morrigan "both, I'd say. A visitor that is new to the hospital. Presumably not to my last visit, but surely to my first, in this decade at least." he comments, moving a step forward when the line advances

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a smile to that, "The pickle spears are what make the sandwich really. I guess I'm just a fan of pickles really." the Irish woman chuckles at that. Then she's watching him, "Well, welcome to Mount Sinai. I'm Doctor Morrigan MacIntyre. I run Pathology here and help out Hematology when they need it." she offers as she extends her hand in greeting. "I was giving a tour to some investors, but they went off for their big fancy lunch with the Board of Directors." she muses.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon bows his head in greeting, still with a smile on his lips as he introduces himself as "Richard, here to provide an alternative anestetic to some patient who can't use regular ones, and a couple of other things" he extends his hand, glancing briefly at the line of people moving and advancing a bit with the flow. "well, they get to have their fancy lunch and the one who indeed worked all day for them is stuck with the egg salad, hm?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a soft smile to that, "It's nice to meet you, Richard. If you need help learning the ropes around here I'm sure we can help. And our pathology residents and things sometimes get lost, so might see them wandering around." she chuckles. "And I am getting pizza. I'm not much of a daytime person so I rarely get it." she muses. "I think they are the old stuffy types who believe a woman should be quiet and admired for her beauty...as opposed to telling them that she's higher in the pecking order." she muses. "But it's all good for the hospital." she shrugs. "Holistic medicine is what you do?" she asks him as the line moves.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon raises an eyebrow slightly at that "they don't make pizza at night?" he asks, staring at the menu again as if there was a time next to the image of a slice of pizza. "uh, well, I suppose some people are set in their way of thinking, as improductive as it may be... As for the patients, well, I'll be careful! And thanks for the help, doctor MacIntyre" he smiles again, now almost to the counter. "so it seems, yes" he admits regarding his specialization field

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a chuckle, "Pizza isn't good to eat at one in the morning unless you're drunk." she tells him. "And not good pizza." she adds. "And yes, some old fogeys are set in their ways." she nods to this. "You can call me Morrigan if you like." she smiles to him. "Holistic's isn't a bad thing really. I'm glad they finally have someone that offers that alternative." she admits to that.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon chuckles, a hint of amusement showing on his lips "true, but if you're a night person, then your 1 am is like my 1 pm, and at 1 pm you can have pizza..." he replies, just shrugging at the investor's comment and advancing another step, one step closer to the goal! "very well then, Morrigan! And, well, yes that is sometimes a good alternative. In this case, for example, the patient couldn't use most forms of anestetics due to allergies and some quite serious issues with his heart. Now, using acupuncture and hypnosis, he's peacefully sleeping after receiving surgery" he grins slightly

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I have an allergy to the sun so I am mostly a night person, yes. But I can go out for a limited amount of time." Morrigan offers to him. "I would love to be a day person really." she sighs wistfully. Then she's listening to him speak on the patient he had and she smiles, "See, that's why it's good." she points out. Then it's her turn in line and she makes her order, slice of cheese pizza, side salad and a drink. "Oh and I'll pay for his as well." she tells the cashie as she moves to let Richard order.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon listens to the woman speaking about sun allergy, and manages somehow to keep a quite neutral expression to that. After all now aday it's not even the strangest thing around! "oh well, I truly wish for you to find a solution to that, sun allergy then! And" he smiles "you shouldn't have, Morrigan. I'll be sure to pay you lunch someday!" to the cashier then he asks "some of that roast beef, with, hmm, salad too, and a bottle of sparkly water please"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to him, "I've got a working serum that helps with it. Just doesn't completely nullify it." she nods to that. Then she waits for him to order and she pays. "It's really no trouble." she tells him about the lunch order. "Anywhere you'd like to sit? Unless you wanted to eat by yourself. I get that." she muses. Then their order is up and ready to eat!

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon nods in understanding "well, still, a more permanent solution surely could be useful." he comments, retrieving then his tray of food! His eyes scan the room, locating an empty corner table that he points to Morrigan "is that good? And, of course I would appreciate the company! Always good to share a meal instead of eating alone, usually at least."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a smile, "Corners are fine." she tells him with a gentle nod. She settles her tray down on the table and then settles herself into a chair. "It's never any fun to eat lunch alone." she admits. "So are you originally from New York?" she asks him once he's settled down.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon sets the tray down on the table in front of Morrigan's, then sits down and first thing opens the bottle of water to pour some in his plastic glass. Drinking some, he smiles brightly "ooh, water!" he exclaims, then shakes his head "no, not originally from New York. In fact, even if I've been here before, it has been some years since I last visited. I, like travelling..." he admits "but apparently I'll be staying for a wile, now!"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a bit of an eyebrow quirk at how he reacts to water. That wasn't weird at all, right? Then she's sipping at her tea, "Well, welcome to New York. It gets really really interesting here sometimes. So just keep a watch if you go out at night...or really anytime." she muses. "Do you have any hobbies besides being a holistic practitioner?" she asks him.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon nods in understanding and flashes a new smile "I'll be careful!" and again drinks some water, getting then fork and knife and metodically starting to cut slices of his roast beef. And now, perhaps, observing him for a bit, it could be noticed that his every movement is precise to the millimeter, another oddity perhaps? "I am a martial artist, and a trainer..." he admits

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to his face and then there's a moment taken to eat some of her salad. But her eyebrow quirks, "Martial artist? I take it that is what you are a trainer of as well?" she asks him with a smile. "Any sword work in there?" she asks with a bit of a hopeful look.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon nods to confirm that he indeed is a martial arts trainer as well, and then again to indicate that it includes swords, if needed at least. "several martial arts include training in various kinds of weapons, swords included..." he indeed voices as explanation "so yes, I know how to use swords and can train people into their use. why?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan has forgotten her food for the moment and there's a smile, "Oh I had started learning the sword and just...should find someone to pick it back up." she admits. "I mean, do you teach novice people who shouldn't need to use a sword...but find themselves needing it anyways?" she asks him with a chuckle.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon lowers his gaze on his food in contemplation for a few seconds, his hands metodically keeping their cutting movements. He picks up a piece of roast beef with his fork, brings it to his lips and eats it before answering "I teach those who want to be taught, of course. And I suppose, it's better to know how to do something and not needing it, rather than not knowing and needing it, hm?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a nod to that, "Well, I'd like to go back to learning. My friend thinks that I shouldn't be doing it, but, they haven't ran into the things that I have." she shrugs to that. "And that's a good way to put it." she admits. "Do you charge? If so that's not a problem. I can pay." she tells him with a touch of a smile.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon listens quietly, then again a smile forms on the corner of his lips, and he shakes his head briefly "as long as you're using the learned skills for a good purpose, I don't charge" he replies "perhaps we could meet, one of these days, so that we may see your current level and then create a training program for you?" he asks, his eyes unmoving from Morrigan's face as his mind probably already examines her potential fighting style based on her build, or at least, tryes to get an idea of that for the future.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I'm not going to be tossing on a cape at night and go about swinging wildly if that makes you feel any better." Morrigan points out to Richard. "I really just want to be able to help out when I do run into situations. I don't like fighting, but I can if it's necessary." she tells him. "And what do you do when you aren't training and being a doctor? Do you actually sleep?" she teases him gently.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon nods but his lips turn upward in a smile, and then a chuckle "why, you can't swing a sword without wearing a cape?" he takes the knife between thumb and forefinger, then tosses it in the air and catches it again by the handle after it has rotated twice. Continuing the knife's downward movement, he slices another piece of roast beef, stabbing it with the fork and eating it "first of all, good advice on the roast beef, thanks! And then, I understand you and yes, if you want, I can teach you how to use a blade so that you may protect yourself should you need it. Even if" he pauses, peering carefully at the woman "why swords? It isn't like you'll have one around if some muggers decide to corner you in a back halley"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I mean, I can. But capes get in the way of things don't you think? Or well...I guess Batman does alright." Morrigan admits with a bit of an amused grin. "And it's no problem, the roast beef is generally a good go to here." she smiles to that. Then there's a look to him, "I...sort of started carrying a rather large knife given an incident not too long ago. And I've had to use it since then." she frowns. "Either way, I find myself in more trouble than I like and I'd just like to be able to defend in different ways." she tells him.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon tilts his head "a large knife and a sword are different though..." he comments, then lifts and drops his right shoulder "oh well, anyways, we'll see about what we can do! And..." he turns the right corner upwards in a semismile "actually there's a fighting style that involves the use of a cape. You hold the blade with your primary hand, the hem of your cape with your offhand, and use the cape as a distraction swirling and twirling it around... Impressive enough if you're agile and wielding a rapier!"
